ADS with password encrytion for PDf docs

Hello,
I have just installed AS Java and set up ADS, it is working just perfectly,
We have a requirement to encrypt the PDF (payslips) using password, we already have the required s/w codes integrated in SAP which encrypts and delivers the payslips thru email to the users, but just that once the PDF is encrytped and send to the user thru email, we are unable to open the PDF document, error pops up as below, whereas unencrypted PDF forms just get delivered and are able to open without any issues.
Only encryption does not work, please guide what should be the approach to be followed here?
There is no requirement to edit the forms so interactive adobe forms and reader right credentials are not requested from SAP.
Kindly guide..

Hi balaji,
as far as I know it is not supported. Here is a blog with a workaround:

you will have to take the help of Professional Pdf editind tools such as Nova pdf or the Full version of Adobe Acrobat i.e. Acrobat Professional ..
also check the links below ..
    [LINK|http://techblissonline.com/how-to-password-protect-pdf-documents-or-files/]
    and quote from the same
How to password protect PDF documents or files?
Open the PDF file in Acrobat
Select File > Document Security from the menu
    Got to the u201CSecurity Optionsu201D drop-down and select u201CAcrobat Standard Securityu201D
Find the box labelled u201CPassword required to open documentu201D and place a check mark against it.
    Edit or type the password
You can also add a password requirement for changing permissions or password. To add a a required password check the box against u201Crequired password to change permissions or passwordu201D and enter the password. However note that this password must be different from the one that you entered for securing or password protecting the PDF file.
If you want your PDF document to be password accessible to users with previous versions of Acrobat Reader (versions earlier than 5.0), do not change the 40-bit encryption setting. However if your users or audience will be using version 5 or later versions of the Reader (or the full Acrobat program) then you may use 128-bit encryption.

    Hi,
You would be able to achieve this with the use of Adobe Acrobat.
Please download and test the 30 days Trial for Adobe Acrobat  : http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=acrobat_pro&loc=us

  • Password encrypted for PDF payslip

    Hi Experts,
Currently I am having a request to encrypt password for PDF payslip, which standard SAP does not support.
I observed that the encryption must be done in OS level (LINUX) after we execute the sending process in SAP and before the employee receives the payslip.
I found a tool that might be applicable in this case. Please help sharing experience on the follwing tool and verify if this product is reliable:

    Thanks & regards,

    You can write a plug-in (C/C++).

  • Creating signature for pdf doc on android phone

I'm in a pdf doc on my android phone. how do i create a signature?

    Hi glendonc95005120,
You might open the PDF in Adobe Reader and use your finger to e-sign any document, without any need of pen.
On your Android device, simply go to Fill & Sign Tools and place your signatures as desired.
    Hope this helps.

  • Address database perf with large tables for attachments (.doc,.jpg,.pdf..etc)

    Hello Folks,
I have a database with large  tables that contain attachments of various kinds of files such as *.doc, *.docx, *.xlsx, *.jpg, *.pdf, *, *.jpeg. Overtime this database has grown so quickly and quite a handful to maintain.
I've been thinking of a proper approach to redesign the database's tables' struct with a little change on the application side.
How do you implement an idea in which the physical file attachment is not appended to these tables but instead just a path to that file which is located in another storage drive? Hence, the column's data type could be just a string rather than an image.

  • Printer Controls for PDF Docs (not XDP)

I understand how to control a printer from an XDP, but is there a way to control a printer with a document generated by PDF Generator? Specifially, I need to turn duplex on for specific sections of docs, and I need to control tray selction on a page by page basis.
    Thanks.
    -Greg

You won't be able to use scripting on the client side, but you will be able to output to a printer direcly.
After the original document is converted to PDF you can use Output (like Hodmi described) to output that PDF direcly to a printer.
If what you want is to print the PDF on a printer that your LC:ES server can comunicate with, then this will do just fine.

  • Password required for pdfs normally read under Windows

For some pdfs which I seamlessly open under Windows, I get password prompt and finally without password they do not open.
I noticed that there are additional security options set on these documents, but still they do open in the Reader under Windows.
    How to open such files?

Yes, I am interested in this as well. I purchased a PDF document (SCJP Study Guide) for $30 from ePlanetLabs.com. The content is excellent and I began reading it on my PC.
Then I got the Nokia 9300. And, being on-the-go, I decided to move my e-book to it. The reader on the 9300 asks me for my password; which I provide and it accepts.
But most of the book is garbled in the reader. The only thing that I can read is the reminder on the top of all 40 pages:
SCJP 5.0 Certification Study Guide for Sun Certified Programmer
IMPORTANT NOTE: We did our best to develop this product. We are not responsible to meet highest quality of any one's high expectations. You purchased this eBook with your own risk and with your own interest, so we are not responsible for any of your dissatisfaction or concerns. Thanks for your purchase.
Well. This is nice. Adobe Reader is free. Nokia 9300 is a cost-item. And so is my eBook. But neither Adobe, Nokia nor ePlanetLabs will accept responsibility for being able to actually *use* my eBook.
It doesn't stop there, however. I ordered a book (in PDF) from campusebookstore.com; again, it reads fine on my PC. But on my Nokia 9300, Adobe Reader (1.1 Build 08202004) reports:
    --------- snip -------------
    ERROR:
This file is encrypted using an unsupported PDF encryption scheme.
    --------- snip -------------
I went back to my PC to determine what the file's properties are... and Poof! I cannot open it on my PC. Adobe Reader (7.0.8) reports:
    --------- snip -------------
    CANNOT OPEN DOCUMENT
This document cannot be opened because its ownership has not been established on this computer.
    (O) I own it and I copied it to this computer or restored it from a backup
() Someone else gave it to me and I would like to own it
    [Obtain Ownership] [Cancel]
    --------- snip -------------
Somewhere along the way (during the past 7 hours which I have spent trying to solve Adobe issues) I used the Adobe DRM Activator and apparently corrupted the initial Activator which was installed with my eBook. What frustration!
At this point in the technology... it seems that normal books are best; at least until Adobe can simplify life for the end-user with the same zeal which it has for protecting the sellers of eBooks.

  • Read files with no app suffixes (.pdf, .doc. xls, etc ...)

    Hi,
On a Macintosh, files do not have suffixes (.pdf, .xls or .doc, etc ...) to identify the application that created the file. How can I open a file on my iPhone if there is no suffixes ?
    Thanks in advance.

    You're welcome.
The files on your Mac include the file extension, which you can choose to show or not show with the files on your Mac.
Since I don't email files to Mac users only, I'm in the habit of including the file extension with all email attachments.
I'm not aware of a way to force open a file with the iPhone.

    Hello,
    Take a look at : http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/pluginxchange/index.html
    Secure PDF Destination
This destination creates a secure PDF that is password-protected. This sample is tested with Oracle Reports 9i, Oracle Reports 10g (9.0.4), and Oracle Reports 10g Release 2 (10.1.2).

  • How do i get the "open with" option back for pdfs after accidentally hitting the save option which now automatically saves any pdf?

Normally when I click on a pdf I would get an option to "Open With" or Save. I usually just opened pdfs first. I accidentally clicked on the Save option in this dialog box and now when I click on any pdf it automatically asks me where I want to save it. I want to get the "open With" option back, because I don't necessarily want to save a copy of every pdf.

Mountain Lion was released in 2012, so I suppose there might be advice in old threads or on the Apple forums if you don't get a response here right away.
