ADSL disconnects when someone rings my phoneline

Dear All,
I used to only use the home hub 2 phones but decided that I wanted a home hub 3 so I bought a new phone.  Plugging this in resulted in my broadband speed dropping (over a number of days) from 2.6-3Mb to 1.6-2Mb.
I tried swapping out the microfilter between the three I have had from BT and another which I bought but this did not stop the problem.
In addition the phone line seemed much quieter (in terms of the volume of the other persons voice) and had more interference than that which I was used to using the home hub 2 phones.
But now.... I've noticed over the past few days that whenever someone call's my home phone my ADSL will disconnect, then reconnect (twice but it will drop the first blue light quickly and then stay connected when it comes on a second time).
I have spent a few hours on the phone to various BT support personnel and have excluded all the internal wiring by wiring the router directly into the test socket.
I have also tried 4 microfilters and two different phones.  In fact this issue persists even if no phone is connected (with either the router directly connected to the test socket or through one of the four microfilters), simply ringing the home number is enough for the internet to slow down and then disconnect.
I have dialled 17070 and used option 2.  There is a buzzing noise, it’s not very load but noticeable.
BT have done a line check and that report’s no problem but I have asked for an engineer to come out as there is clearly an issue.
All internet searches I have conducted suggest that this could be a High Resistance (HR) fault, but I have no idea what this is.
My ADSL line status (now with no phone connected) is:

Anyone have any ideas?

Basically, the steps like this below, we require mainly the line stats and speedtest .
Can you please post your ADSL stats by following this direct link; http://192.168.1.254/ and naviagte to top right to 'A -Z' and find ADSL Settings under 'A' and post information including Line Attenuation, Noise Margin etc....
Also we need a speedtest just to have a look and make sure everything's okay? Use this link http://bit.ly/o8qqQ9 as it will also help you diagnose and give you a list of solutions afterwards to help you diagnose your problems if it thinks there is a problem. Could you please also copy and paste the results from the White/Black/Green pop out page including your IP profile, DSL Connection Rate and speed achieved during test.
Run a line test to determine if or not it is an external problem: http://bit.ly/tgwip
Can you also confirm if you're connected at the master socket or an extension? And what your type your master socket is according to this picture

  • I dropped my iphone 4s on the floor and now my screen wont turn on. it isnt cracked or anything. also when someone rings me my ringtone plays but nothing appears on the screen

Hi. So I dropped my iPhone 4s on the floor, and now my screen won't display anything, but it still plays sounds, for example when someone rings or text me.
Please help me ASAp, and I will be grateful for any help

Try a reboot, hold both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, if it doesn't "appear" but does restart, does it then turn on?
If not, time to visit an Apple store genius bar and have the techs run some tests to see what is wrong.

That is a new feature described in Connect your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch using Continuity
    You can turn it off:
    Turn off iPhone cellular calls
To turn off iPhone Cellular Calls on a device, go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off iPhone Cellular Calls.

  • Missing contact names when someone rings me

    Hi
When any of my contacts ring me only their numbers are displayed with no name.
How do I fix this please
    Terri

Go to App World and down load Backup Pro (paid) or InTouch Contacts (free). I prefer the paid version.
Backup ONLY your contacts to media card or the cloud like Box.com or dropbox.
Then, you will wipe and remove all your contacts off this device by opening your main Settings (swipe down on the homescreen from the top black bexel to Settings.
    Tap Accounts.
Lower right tap the three dots overflow menu icon.
    Tap Clear Local Contacts.
After that is completed, Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
Now, restore your contacts from your previous backup as instructed above.
Once the contacts have been restored, do yet another reboot as above.
Give it 10-15 minutes after reboot to allow data to sync, etc., and test your contacts again when someone calls you.

    Hi, Corinneact.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The usual cause for errors is that the security question responses are case sensitive.  If case sensitivity is not an issue with your answers, see the last step in the attached section of the article below.
Navigate to My Apple ID using your web browser.
    Click "Manage your account"
When prompted, sign in using your Apple ID and password.
    Click Password & Security
You'll be asked to answer 2 of your 3 security questions before you can make any modifications. If you are unable to remember your answers, you can choose to send an email to your rescue email to reset your security questions.
Note: The option to send an email to reset your security questions and answers will not be available if a rescue email address is not provided. You will need to contact iTunes Store support in order to do so.

  • ADSL Disconnects when my mac connects to the network or when ever it wants

    Hi there.
My MacBook Pro Loves to pull fits on the Network.
What it dose is when i open the lid on my laptop it disconnects the internet. So the ADSL Light Turns off on the router.
    Whats wrong with it?

Other people on the network have no issues with bit torrent
Yes but they may be using all the routers resources.
If you have multiple devices on the network the router may just be crashing. I have seen this before with thompson routers. I have seen Thompson 780wl crash with more than 3 devices connected to it. When used with 1 device it was fine.
Dlink in my experience are buggy at the best of times. I would suggest you flash your router with the latest firmware you can download from dlink.
I would suggest as william indicated replacing your router with a more efficient one.

  • N85 -"call" shown when someone rings the phone

Have got this as my work phone, Ive been with nokia all my life and have never come across this. I have looked over all my settings and now im a little baffled. The phone I ring from doesnt have its number set to private, and is stored in my phonebook but when it comes up as an incoming call it displays "call"
    Anyone help?
    Thanks
    Martyn

We fixed the problem! Ok, so here's what happened for us:
When I signed up the contract, I didn't check the "Incoming Call ID" box... Simple as that.
    Hope this helps.

  • My iPhone won't recieve calls, it cuts off straight away when someone rings me? Is my phone the problem or is it there's?

So when my step dad rings me it doesn't ring at all is it his problem or is it my phone?

    GeorgieWood24 wrote:
Yeah, because you're sarcasm is really helpful.
I know Apple ones are recommended, but I can only just afford the phone, I thought the one they would have given me would work well enough for me not to need a new one.
How old is your phone?  If your cable is defective, it is covered under your one year warranty.

  • Can you turn off the voice tags when someone rings...

I think the subject says it all, but here's the story - My girlfriend's sister has an E71, and a ringtone she really likes.  She wants to be able to hear the ringtone without interruption when people call, but for all my poking about in the menu and settings I can't find a way to turn off the voice tag that announces the name of the person ringing.  The tags are somewhat annoying anyway because they don't tend to read Irish names very well 'Grainne' being pronounced as 'grain' and such.
Can those tags be disabled?  If they can, how?
    Thanks.

also dont forget to activate the profile your using once this is done or it will revert to default

If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.
    Now using the Lumia 1520

  • When someone rings call goes to message bank but if they ring a second times call comes through.

When I get a call it goes to message bank, but if the person tries again if comes through as a phone call.

check your do not disturb settings (see if there is a moon icon displayed beside your battery icon) if so, go to settings>Do not disturb and turn it off.

As far as trying to power up your device, make sure it has a good charge and then hold the button on the top of the phone and the home button on the faceplate together until the apple appears on the screen.

  • I have a IPhone 5 and Iphone 5s. Both are set up with the same account ID and running IOS 8.0.2. When the phones are connected to the same Wifi at home, both phones will ring when someone call in to one of the phone.  Anyway to solve this problem?

I have a IPhone 5 and Iphone 5s, each phone is activited with a different service provider. Both are set up with the same account ID and running IOS 8.0.2. When the phones are connected to the same Wifi at home, both phones will ring when someone call in to one of the phone.  Hence you do not know exactly which line the caller called.  If you answered using the wrong phone, then anyone calling the other number will not get through.  Anyway to solve this problem?

    Hey David Koh TP,
Thanks for the question. It sounds like your devices are set up to use continuity together. Specifically, it sounds like you are signed into the same Apple ID in FaceTime, and have iPhone Cellular Calls enabled. To resolve your issue, simply disable this setting:
Connect your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch using Continuity
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6337
    Turn off iPhone cellular calls
To turn off iPhone Cellular Calls on a device, go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off iPhone Cellular Calls.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • My wife and I both have iPhones recently when someone calls her phone mine also rings.  How do I stop this?

Both my wife and I have IPhones (5C and 4S).  For some reason for the last several months when someone calls one of our phones it rings on both phones.  It seems to have started with the OS updates but that may be a coincidence.  Is there a way to stop this?

    DrYes wrote:
So if I turn off IPhone Cellular calls this will eliminate the problem?  As I read it the double ringing only occurs when we are signed in and the phones are close and connected to WIFi.
Correct, I wouldn't lead you astray with a false response.  It happens because you and your wife are using the same Apple id for facetime - which you shouldn't do, either you or her will need a separate id for facetime.
This subject has been brought up already, you can use the search function and look for the threads with the green checkmarks.
