Adsl start -but fails

I have a very annoying problem, for some reason my ethernet/adsl router wont connect after a minute after booting up the machine, so, I have to wait this time before be able to connect to inet.
The problem is that the adsl script doesnt run the pppoe as a daemon when fails the first connect attemp, so, I have no idea what I could do to connect automatically to inet AFTER the minute.
maybe a while 2 -gt 1 pppoe-start ... but that would be... sucky
any help will be very appreciated

Do you have the install discs and any upgrade discs for the computer?
Is your data backed up?

  • Firefox starts, but fails to display websites with no error message.

Firefox starts, but when it tries to connect to a real website, i.e. google.com, mozilla.com, etc. it just... doesn't. There is no error message. There is no progress bar. No "Loading...". Nothing. It just continues to say "Untitled" in the tab name.
I tried updating to the latest firefox version. I tried reinstalling firefox. I tried creating a new profile. I tried clearing cache/cookies/etc. Nothing I did caused any change.
I have noticed that if I attempt to type in a random string of characters (clearly not a real website) or a made-up ip address, then it displays the proper error message... intermittently. I just tested it again, and apparently it doesn't always work.
    *sigh* What now?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== I went back to firefox after using Chrome.

I have mac. And I have the same problem.
First page loads - and I can click on any link from that to continue opening it in tabs. But when I open new tab cmd+t and enter a website address to location bar, nothing happens.
    I don't have a firewall.
I already deleted Firefox from applications and reinstalled.

  • Server appears to start but fails when accessed

I have installed (and re-installed) the application server (version 8.2) and it appears to be successful - I have just taken all the defaults along the way.
When I try http://localhost:8080/ it fails every time. The log is below.
the PATH variable is set to: C:\Sun\AppServer1\bin;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_05\bin
Can anyone give me some suggestions as to what I have done wrong, please?

The PATH must be consistently formated (e.g. C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\bin; ) or the Appserver may not be able to start and/or stop.  Mixed quoted spaces in your PATH can cause problems, so the launcher will remove all double quotes before invoking the process. The most reliable solution would be to remove all spaces from your path before starting the Appservers components.  |#]

  • IBook wants to start, but fails

Thanks in advance for any help ...
I can't start my iBookG4 this morning and have never had this happen before. I turn it on, it makes the chime, the screen illuminates, the apple logo appears, then the time clock spins around. Everything looks normal, but then it just shuts off after about one minute.
I've tried it about five times and from different outlets. No luck.
    Help!

Do you have the install discs and any upgrade discs for the computer?
    Is your data backed up?

  • Itunes starts but fails to open due to audio configuration problem

    Hi
I have been running itunes 7.1 quite successfully until today. Running on windows xp/toshiba laptop.
Problem occurs when i select itunes on desktop, itunes appears on task bar below, after a number of seconds the following error message appears "itunes cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration", once I click ok on this message itunes terminates.
No changes have been made to my audio configuration (to the best of my knowledge), i can run Windows Media Player and that works fine, so too real player.
I reinstalled itunes, but this did not resolve the problem. I also ran itunes from another logon on my laptop and that presented the same error. I checked all my audio settings in the control panel and also ran the diagnostics on each device and all appears to be fine.
Has anybody faced the same issue, and could anybody advise on any diagnistic tool that could assist in pinpointing the configuration problem?.
    Thanks

    Hi
Got it resolved, thanks for the prompt responses all!.
Resolved by removal current version of Quicktime thru the control panel (add/remove programs), and then reinstalled from the website.

I have the second gen Apple TV.  When I start it up the Apple logo pops up then the device restarts its self.  I does this in a loop it never loads up the Apple TV how do you fix this?

Hi, I'm having the same problem. Tried unplugging all the cables, then connecting with a micro USB to the computer. Opened iTuines, restored the Apple TV 2, plugged it back to the TV, still looping on startup. Cannot seem to get past the Apple logo...driving me mad!!

  • Fam starts on boot but fails to stop on shutdown

I have kdebase, kdelibs, kdeutils, kdenetwork, kdeartwork, kdepim and kdegames installed.
    I'm new to arch.
    I modified /etc/rc.conf to:
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng !hotplug !pcmcia netfs crond dbus hal portmap fam network alsa cups adsl clamav postfix kdm)
fam starts properly but fails to stop at shutdown or reboot. Why is that and how do I solve it?

I'm afraid to say the problem is back even if the timeout value is set to 0, after I rebooted twice today the problem happens again. Any idea why?

Following a message saying that my Startup disc was full and advising me to delete some files, I deleted my trash but then apps started to fail. When I tried to log on again, all I got was a blank screen and a cursor, so I am unable to delete any more files. I am a Mac Book Pro virgin, help

How much free space do you actually have? Go to the Apple menu and select About This Mac... More Info... and click on the Storage tab. You should see something like this...
This will show you how much free space you have and what's taking up all the space on your hard drive. You may need to backup and trash some seldom used files, applications, etc. You have to drag them into the Trash and empty the trash to regain the space. A general rule of thumb is that you should have about 15% of your hard drive storage free.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

This may be due to AQ_TM_PROCESSES parameter.
what is value of AQ_TM_PROCESSES parameter..
Also paste value of processes parameter.
Also login as sysdba and give output of :
    select * from v$resource_limit;

Actually it sometimes gets a little further, the display will dim and the pointer will appear and then whoop it will turn off. if i do a verbose start up, it will finish all the steps, the white screen will appear and dim and then it will turn off.
