ADSL up and running but account not live until 24/...

Just off by chance happened to put in my btinternet username and password into my adsl2+ router and it connected fine and I can now access the internet (using 3g right now though) the profile is set to 2000 and connected as ADSL but not ADSL2+ yet as it should not really be 'live' yet.
Under BE/Sky who I have being with before I connected at anything between 18-22mbit so fingers crossed for BT
My main questions are:
Am I safe to use the router now or will this mess up the 10 day training period?
Is it normal for it to connect as ADSL first and not ADSL2+?
If it should be ADSL2+ do I need to get this changed before I get my Home Hub 2?
In the meantime I have powered off my router as I do not want to mess anything up.

21CN and all the BT tests done so far have pointed towards a connection of 15mb+ so this is the reason why I signed up to pay extra for BT Total Broadband Option 3.
As long as I get back to ADSL2+ by Monday when my account officially goes live then I will be happy, even if there is a slight drop in speed I can live with that what I cannot live with is if it sticks to 8mb because of a lack of connection points in the exchange and will be asking BT to resolve it asap.
My concern now is if I am connected to the DSLAM which means I will be stuck with a connection at half the speed of what I paid for before and paying more for it.
Really appreciate your help on this just worried now they have stuck me on ADSL and there won't be anyway to migrate onto ADSL2+

  • Merge catalog function process starts and runs but does not complete

I am trying to merge my laptop catalog with my desktop catalog. Both machines are LR5.4 and OSX 10.9.3.
I am following the documented LR process. The merge starts, runs and looks like it completes but the new data (photos and catalog information) does not show up in desktop (merged) catalog.
When I try it again, the dialog box indicates that the new files have been exported (as they are no longer highlighted).
I can not locate any files (by name) on the desktop that have moved from the laptop.
    What do I do next?

  • Crucial M4 SSD shows in BIOS and runs, but is not visible to firmware updater

I recently upgraded an older computer to Windows 10, and while everything worked, it takes a very long time for the operating system to load. Once the login screen appears and I log in to the system, however, everything is quick and works as intended. The Crucial M4 CT256M4SSD2 SSD I'm using is running in IDE mode, since this older machine doesn't have AHCI. I found that a firmware update was available (070H) and thought it might help with the slow loading times, so I downloaded the Windows 8 firmware updater and tried to run it. It detected the drive and identified the firmware as 040H. When I ran the updater, however, it spun for a long time, and then said "Not Responding" and threw up an "End Process" button. I terminated the process and rebooted the system. It took several minutes to load, as it did previously, and when it loaded, I started the firmware updater again, only to find that the drive was no longer detected. I downloaded the manual updater file, burned the ISO to a CD, and rebooted the system. I tried to run the manual updater, but it told me it couldn't find an eligible device. I rebooted and let the system take its usual long time to load, and now I'm back to where I was before the attempted firmware update, but with no way to update the firmware. Can anyone offer me a solution that will enable the firmware to be updated once again? Thanks in advance for your help!

Firmware updates require AHCI, as does most of the technological features that make SSD's perform properly. This is written just about everywhere.Thank you for the suggestion. I read the instructions, however, and not only was it not apparent that IDE mode was incompatible with the upgrade process, the instructions themselves suggest IDE mode as a workaround for older systems: "If your m4 drive is not recognized in Step 8 of the 'Run the Firmware Update' section above, it may be necessary to run this update in IDE mode instead of AHCI mode, on some older systems." I am aware that AHCI is the optimal solution for an SSD drive, as I have installed several of them in the computers I've built and the laptops I've serviced. Even in IDE mode, however, it offers a significant speed boost for older machines, and for people who don't have the resources to replace their computers, it helps to extend the life of their systems.

Sounds like a "hang at exit" problem. There are several possible causes for that error. See:
    * How to stop the running Firefox process
** In Task Manager, does firefox.exe show in the '''<u>Processes</u>''' tab?
    ** See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Kill_application

    ** https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox+is+already+running+but+is+not+responding
    * You may need to try Firefox Safe Mode
** You may need to use '''Safe Mode''' to locate the problem: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
**Firefox Safe Mode is a diagnostic mode that disables Extensions and some other features of Firefox. If you are using a theme, switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes '''<u>before</u>''' starting Safe Mode. When entering Safe Mode, do not check any items on the entry window, just click "Continue in Safe Mode". Test to see if the problem you are experiencing is corrected.
** If the problem does not occur in Safe-mode then disable all of your Extensions and Plug-ins and then try to find which is causing it by enabling '''<u>one at a time</u>''' until the problem reappears. • Firefox is OPEN and working fine, but when I click a link in Thunderbird I get 'Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.'

If I click a link on my desktop or in any other program (while Firefox is open and running), I get this message: "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system." There's about a billion links for this if you Google it, but they all say that Firefox wasn't shut down properly. (OK, maybe not ALL of them, but if the needle is in that haystack, I haven't yet found it.) That's not the issue in my case since I haven't shut FF down at all.

somehow i couldn't get rid of one website called www.searchqu.com/405 set as my homepage... I tried all solutions given to change the homepage but whenever i restarted firefox that homepage used to come automatically.. So, I deleted the profile (even from recycle bin!!) and deleted the firefox and downloaded it again hoping to get my problems fixed (which didn't happen!) because i'm getting dialog box saying- Firefox is already running, but is not responding. You don't say which operating system you have installed?
Assuming it's Windows, right click a blank part of the Windows Taskbar and go to Task Manager. Then click the ''Processes ''tab, find '''firefox.exe''' and then right click it and choose '''End Process'''.

Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 12.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

No matter how many times I open and close, firefox hangs up after surfing a few pages. When I look at task master, firefox is using up hundreds of thousands of kb, causing the processor to stall at 100%. I do not have this problem when surfing with IE. I have the latest version of firefox. I never had this problem with version 5. It keeps getting worse with each "update".

See [[Firefox is already running but is not responding]]
Obviously firefox should not hang after surfing a few pages. I have Firefox installed on an XP including firefox 6.0.2 and do not have problems.
