    Hello Manisha,
The one of the possible reasons for this is due to lack of H/W.
Increase your RAM size to atleast 2GB and utilise the same while you are installing ECC in database parameters step..
If the issue is with H/W, then this should fix the issue.
    Hope it helps,
    Regards,

  • Launch error code: -2857 Exited with error code: 215

    Anybody have any idea what:
"Launch error code: -2857 Exited with error code: 215"
means when launching an app? Tries to launch, then quit. That shows up in the Console.
    Thanks.

First I want to say thanks for the feedback. I appreciate the support and helpful suggestions.
Second, Epson sent me an answer of sorts...they provided detailed instructions on uninstalling the application and then told me to reinstall using the disk image from their web site (in other words, don't use their web package to "update" and existing installation). I did this and things seem to be running fine now. It's unfortunate that their update instructions don't say to do this in the first place (maybe I missed it ).
So at one level this issue is solved. Unfortunately I'm too curious and wanted to know why the error happend in the first place. As a software developer myself (mainframe and midrange server based) I hate the "delete and reinstall" answer as it does nothing to really identify and solve the real problem. But I do also appreciate the idea of "just get it fixed fast" so that's what I did.
Anyway, I will now spend some time learning about Launch Services to see if I can get a more specific understanding of what happened.
    Thanks again for the help.

You might have better luck actually installing Windows on your Mac, with the free http://www.virtualbox.org/
There is also a Cubase version for the Mac:

  • Flex 4, including assets in installer... ok.. but installer exits with error.

    Hi there,
Currently new with flex 4, working on a project which involves embedded and non-embedded assets, everything works as it should, debugging, or running the application.
But the next step is offcourse building the Release Build which also creates the air file without any errors.
But starting the installer to install it, exits with the message that the installer is corrupt, and stops the installation.
What i've done sofar to isolate the problem:
    - removed the dependecy of another project by including the files in the main project. (no change)
    - created a new project, and included all the files from the orignal to the new one. (no change)
    - removed the assets folder from the src folder and put it up one folder. (now it works!!), but offcourse the images are not in the
installer because they are out of the root structure, thus no images present.
    the assets folder is like:
    + src
      + assets
           + type1
                 {couple of images}.png
           + type2
                 {couple of images}.png
           + type3
                 etc.
                 etc.
so by taking them out is ok, leaving it there generates the error by installing the Release Build.
in the assets folder there are mainly png files, 2 ttf files and 1 swf file.
Hope somebody can help me here, because i'm really stuck here, and really need some help
    Regards,
    Marc

guess i would resync it like you suggested. didnt run into this error before.

  • Archsetup exitting with error. Install package step

I set the packages I want (I need wireless capabilities) and when I go to the install packages step the installer exits with the errors
cat: /tmp/aif/aif-pacman_installpkg-exit: No such file or directory
rm: cannot remove '/tmp/air/aif-pacman_installpkg-ext': No such file or directory
/usr/lib/aif/core/libs/lib-misc.sh: line 90: kill: Can't: arguments must be process or job IDs
ERROR: Internal AIF error, the following call failed: wait_for pacman_installpkg
Can't open input file in dialog_tailbox().. This should never happen
I then try to rerun arch setup, but the process seems to be still active so when I go to redo my file partioning (which it says I have to redo again). It cant unmount my / partition.
So I checked out fuser, and nothing came up, then I tried killall root. And still nothing. So I rebooted fresh and restarted and got the same situation again.
Any suggestions? google sort of failed me...
    extra info:
    cdrom, netinstall, Wireless WPA connection
edit2: ill try burning new cd.
edit3: burning new cd with coreinstall failed. I tried it again (downloaded coreinstall instead of netinstall too) and the same thing happened.

OK so if anyone ever has these sorts of problems (everything breaking at once). Suggest they burn their cd at slower x value .

  • ApplicationDidReceiveMemoryWarning and exit with "error status 101"

My application crashed with memory error. It doesn't show any memory leak, but handles a large database and it looks like, its cache causes this problem.
I fixed it by closing database and reopen it inside "applicationDidReceiveMemoryWarning".
It works great on the first call to applicationDidReceiveMemoryWarning (actually significantly dropping the memory usage). But the function is never called again, and my application eventually crashes after a few minutes of heavy usage with "error status 101" .
My understanding is that "error status 101" happens when app doesn't release memory properly on didReceiveMemoryWarning, but in my case, it just crashes without giving me a chance to clean up.
Any idea on what's going on here?

Yes, actually, the other answer you got was wrong.
Just throw an error inside the script, probably (given what you want to do) at the end. For example:
osascript -e 'error "This is a test." number 9000'
on the command line will give (on the command line) something like:
6:22: execution error: This is a test (-128)
If you read the man page for osascript, you will see that by default script errors are written to stderr; if you have your shell script watch stderr between the start of the script and the end of it, you'll catch the result message.
A few things to keep in mind:
--> AppleScript can catch its own errors using a "try" block, similar to in other languages. The basic syntax is:
    try
(* Do some stuff here *)
    on error msg number num
(* Process the error here *)
    end try
--> If you throw an error yourself, try to use an error number which is "safe". Most of the negative numbers are already in use as standard signals. For example, -128 is "User canceled", while -43 is "file not found" (which pops up if you cast a string to an alias and the string does not describe a path to a valid item in the filesystem -- that's actually a very simple way to test for file existence). If you use numbers starting with 9000, which seems to be the consensus starting point, then you have the additional advantage of being able to figure out where things went wrong.

  • Is it possible to exit with error if db_recover is necessary?

Sometimes it is not possible to access a bdb-file. If you try to (even with db_stat), the process (we take the example db_stat) hangs. To move on, the process has to be killed.
It would be VERY nice, if BDB would return an error to the process and the process could do whatever it likes (for the sample db_stat could output "Please use db_recover first", other applications could do "calling the DB_ENV->open method with the DB_RECOVER or DB_RECOVER_FATAL flags" as mentioned in BDB Reference Guide: Recovery procedures).
What do you think about this point?

Hopefully, I can clear up the confusion you are having.
DB_ENV->failchk is method that can be called that will check for threads of control (true threads or processes) that have exited the BDB environment and may be holding logical locks, or left an open txn around. This method has some dependencies that need to be meet in order for it to work correctly, namely an is_alive callback needs to be set up and DB_ENV->set_thread_id needs to be set up.
At any given point in time, a thread or a process may have died while holding onto a BDB resource. At any given point in time, a thread or process may be blocked waiting for access to a BDB resource. What we do not know is why they are blocked -- is it because a process/thread is taking a long time or it is because some process/thread died. There isnt anything inherant in the library that tells us which of these cases is true.
What we do have is the ability to check if something is alive provided that the callback is given to us. What failchk does, is it looks through various BDB resources and on the ones that are held it checks to see if the thread/process holding it is still alive or not. If it isnt, it tries to clean that up.
    See below for more details.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/api_c/env_failchk.html
Once failchk is setup, your application can call it as often as you like. It can easily be called prior to running any of the db_xxx utilities (i.e db_stat).

  • [SOLVED] cups installation: package version 1.2.12-1 exits with error

    Hi,
I installed cups, gutenprint and cups-pdf packages today. But cups does not work when launched as a daemon in /etc/rc.conf. The error it spits out is-
cupsd: Child exited on signal 15!
I had libcups installed before installing cups, as dependency for some other package. I have an Epson Stylus C43SX printer, which connects via parallel port. I have configured it successfully before, and it is well supported.

Thanks for the answer. Indeed the ant version was an older one (1.4.1). I
installed 1.5 and now it works OK.

What version of Ant are you using? Kodo's Ant tasks require 1.5 orhigher.

    Hello ,

"Microsoft Visual c++ Runtime Library Error , This application has requested the application to terminate in an unusual way"
when I dismiss the dialog I get another one :
