Adv. Lightning BUG Video (Because Submitting Bugs is too mainstream)

Hi guys, first, not native english speaker. I'm working around an educational-purposed project, combination of one of Andrew Kramer's tutorial and some imagination. The thing is: Does really Advanced Lightning do what it should do?
I know I should've submitted this through the form, I tried but I don't like forms, too formal, and maybe they didn't even looked at the video I made, where I explain exactly what's happening along with my 3AM Frustration.
I just want you guys to know about this bug, and maybe someone figures somehow a Workaround (I tried many, really), I was a bit mad when I edited the video (5 mins ago, is 3:30AM now ). I fought that plugin for hours? Because I discovered the little bug after I made some work so every change I had to do, had to be made in every comp using the effect...
Seems like Andrew Kramer didn't had this bug so proeminent... Also, it looks like doesn't matter if it's Full Res, Quarter; Adaptive or Fast Draft preview method... 8, 16 or 32 bpc, for me is the same thing, auto-animating lightning....
BTW, Using AE CS6.

Also, I saw someone from Adobe replied to a bug post on this forum, that's one of the reasons why I posted here, curious about their reaction also

Exactly that is the problem Rick. For you (and some other) it is working as expected. For me, it goes rogue, and I don't know why and how to fix it...
The first "BUG" I bumped into, was the one at the final of the video, where animating decay on a single effect, makes forks pop, disappear and appear randomly . Reducing forking strenght to 40% may help but then I had to rise other values...
The newer problem here is... After some time, as you can see, lightning simply switches it's state and form, without any keyframes! That's really something I can't adjust from values...
Yes, the Decay motion stops, but there is additional flickering and effects on the forking (random visibility). This makes an effect in some way like instantly moving Direction Point. I'm pretty sure is something wrong with my station as there aren't many whom get this Adv.Light behavior... (I googled before posting, there was one guy who had the same problem but no one could help him )

I edit the presentation depending on the audience to which I am presenting.

If you add a new slide with just a text box (therefore a very small amount of data), to an existing presentation then save, Keynote will only save the new content to the file, it wont save pre-existing content as its already included in the file.
The time taken to "save" will be very much shorter than a "save as" when all of the existing content is saved again.

i found the error!
little snitch on os x blocks something (i dont know what exact) of adobe in the background. i have no rule defined for adobe in little snitch, so everything of adobe can go out.
when i stop little snitch, everything works fine - photoshop opens videos without the medialink error, photoshop starts up in seconds and premiere starts without a quicktime error.
i report the problem also to objective developement to fix this!

Audio doesn't match video because repeated half way through

Hi guys,
I am currently editing videos from my Canon SLR with Adobe Premiere Elements (Windows).
In the same project, I have only uploaded videos taken the same day with the same equipment. I have been able to process them all normally apart from one. For some reason, when I play this file with a basic video player, everything works fine but when I import it in the Adobe software and play it either through the small window or in the timeline, I have the same problem:
Everything works fine (audio and video in sync), until it reaches a specific point (totally random as far as I can tell) when the video keeps going but suddenly the sound repeats itself from the beginning of the file (and the audio which would correspond to the video is replaced by it). For you to understand better the problem:
Video:   ABCDEF
Audio:   ABCABC
I have tried opening it in a different project and somehow it happens exactly at the same point.
I am totally clueless of what it comes from and getting really frustrated!
Any idea?

Hello, I'm new to using forums like this. Is it appropriate for me to post that I'm having the same issue? Also sounds similar to Audio doesn't match video because repeated half way through as well.
My situation is:
Win7 64-bit, i7 920, 2.67GHz, 8GB RAM
Multiple Nikon D7000 video clips I've taken play back fine except for the following clip. In Windows Media Viewer, I have no problem, but in PE10, in the timeline editor, this clip repeats the audio from the beginning starting about 6 minutes into the video. I have Quicktime version 7.7.5 installed which I noticed was mentioned as a possible culprit in the other thread.
I've been using my camera primarily for stills, but decided to have my mom tell her story before she wasn't able to. I'm so frustrated with this problem because I know the audio is just fine since I can play it back synchronized throughout the entire clip in WMV. I've tried cleaning out PE caches as best I can figure them out and created new projects without any better luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm open to getting a new version of PE or another program if I could believe that I wouldn't run into this issue again. This seems like such a vanilla problem since all my other clips seem to be fine and this one does too on WMV.
Thanks for any help you can provide. I don't really know where else to go to figure this out.

Ichat failed to start video because..... not responded

I managed to fix this problem the last time simply by trashing com.apple.ichat.plist and com.apple.ichat.AIM.plis, you can see that discussion under this thread: "geetting error -8"
For the last year, I have switched to skype but now i have some new ichat buddies who don't want to use skype. Unfortunately it doesn't work again.
I get the "ichat failed to start video because..... not responded" problem again
I use SpeedTouch 585i v6... and i have read all the old posts about unbinding SIP etc. but I don't really have access to my router since it has been provided by the ISP, and I don't now the passward and user name to the router.
Anyhow has apple gotten any smarter about solutions to this problem?

Same instructions but change unbind to bind
As the page says it can be difficult to completely unbind the version 5 and upwards devices.
In theory the IP phone can be off one ethernet port and the computer another on the Alcatel.
The binding presumes only one device is going to be doing SIP/VoIP so the binding says it will keep SIP to port 5060
In practice these devices and some adapters strip out all the SIP data even if it is not addressed to the Phone.
As the device can be re-set I would try unbinding it and see if it helps.
Unfortunately there has not been much success with version 5 or 6 firmware anyway and it may not help.

You can try using the 'official' Facebook app or Friendly For Facebook - not sure whether they work with videos.

If my experience with a similarly aged computer is any indicator, you'll notice an immediately speed hit once you've upgraded to Mavericks. Each OS X update tends to be more memory hungry than the previous and my 2007 iMac wasn't happy with Lion until I upgraded the RAM and at that point Lion performance roughly matched Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion and then Mavericks shaved some speed off again. Mavericks on the 2007 iMac was okay for the most part but switching between applications was slow as was the fileselector.
My 2009 MBP saw similar slowdowns with Lion but I was above to upgrade it to 8GB which made a big difference. (My iMac was limited to 6GB) but I still saw a significant speed hit with Mt Lion when I tried to run multiple memory intensive applications. Seeing how my wife's MacBook Air dealt with Mt Lion with only 4GB I decided to install an SSD in the MBP and wow what a difference. Tried it with the iMac using a FireWire800 enclosure and saw similar improvement.
So to boil it down to one sentence, you are going to see a significant speed hit with only 4GB but if you can afford to upgrade your drive to an SSD you'll be amazed at how well that computer can run.

As you haven't got enough space, open Settings > General > Usage, and delete things from your device. This is the only way to free up space in your iPad

IMovie not uploading video because of internet connection

Hi,
I made a project in iMovie. When it's time to upload the video to my facebook account, i dealt with same problem again and again.
When i started my video for uploading to facebook, my video was prepared for uploading and when iMovie was publishing my video to facebook, like after 30% it cancels my video by saying check you server and make sure your computer is connected to internet. I checked my internet connection in the top right bar,it was connected. There was no problem with internet connection. It happened to me for about 2 times, i wasted my time and i am not sure whether i will do it again or not.
Apple, please fix this problem.

first of all: Quicktime is no 'codec' ..
a QT.mov can contain many codecs, all kind of framerates, resolutions, formats ...
when you hit share/Quicktime/Expert Setting and the blue button again, you should choose 'Quicktime' again and 'Options' ... now, you see many buttons: compressor allows to choose from many codecs.. actual the 'best' is h264 (=QTvers. 7.x. only)... it reduces file sizes dramatically... 'Size' reduces file sizes too, a 320x240 res is just a ¼ of a dv... and you can get rid of some MBs by choosing mono, and lower 'audio res' (e.g.11.5kHz) ...
it all depends very much of content, what you like to achieve (a musician wouldn't lower audio quality for his demos...), if you prefer speed, compatibility, etc. ...
just for 'sharing' videos, I recommend youtube, video.google, stage6 etc. - you don't have to care for any settings..
if you install on your own websites... 'compression' is an art, not only craftship..

There was a bug at one time where really simple paths (like a triangle, for example) could cause that error.
Is your path really simple (I don't plan to go watch the video)? If so, have you installed the latest update for Photoshop? That bug may have been fixed already.
If it's not that, it's possible that if your path is really complex and simply exceeding Photoshop's capability.

I'm using Photoshop CS6 in Windows 7 64bit. I've seen other posts about a bug if you are trying to complete a 3D extrusion when a triangle is present, but my issue seems even more basic.
I'm drawing a simple wave shape with the pen tool set to shape, no fill, 1px stroke. I'm simply drawing three points to create a simple sine wave - the idea being to create a wavy piece of 35mm film. The image size is quite big - 6000 x 4000 px. The first time I did it, the rendering worked fine but I didn't like the curve I had drawn, so I stepped back and tried again. Now, whatever I do, I get the "Could not complete because the path is too complex" message.
Is this a known bug and are there any workarounds to create a single pixel wide wavy shape in 3D that looks like a piece of film.

I have run across this also, but my path was more complex. As far as creating a single pixel wavy shap, I would use the depth map 3D feature of converting a depth map to a plane. Create a gradient in 32bit mode, so the transistion are smooth, and then go to the 3D menu and select new mesh from depth map>plane. You can later go in and edit the depth map to tweak it.

Here's what I'd do, go back to the Apple store, take the phone & computer. Ask the geniuses how to fix this since they replaced the phone. You never know, they may just update the computer for free...its happened before...can't gurantee it will happen for you, but worth a try.
Otherwise, you're looking at purchasing a retail copy of Leopard, however if her computer can handle Snow Leopard you can purchase the $29 upgrade disk & install a full copy of SL.
