  • JDBC Receiver Comm Channel Issue

    Hi Team,
We have around 77 interfaces inserting/updating information into a database.
Q1) Should we creating 77 different receiver JDBC communication channels for the same receiver?
Q2) Or would a single JDBC communication channel suffice?
Currently, we have only created a single communication channel and we are encounter 'JDBC Message processing failed, due to Channel has reached maximum concurrency ' error.
The Maximum Concurrency is set to '1' for now.
Q3)How do we manipulate the 'Maximum Concurrency' value?
    Please advice.
    Thank you,

it can be handled by a single on also

creating multiple channels allows the flexibility of manual start or stopping particular interface flows in some business scenarios. if it is a single CC then there is no flexibility. so it depends.

try increasing the value from 1 to 99 or the maximum permissible value

  • NVIDIA nForce controller. Device Mgr on advanced tab doesn't list receive side scaling.

I have a Gateway desktop with Windows 7 os. I am having problems with my internet. My provider just switched modems.  I changed my internet cord running from the modem to the pc. My values for the internet speed listed on local area connection status varies like mad. Right now it show 5.65billion received and 641million sent. Usually it shows like a way lower set of numbers with both being close to one another.  I have been trying to check my  properties in device mgr>networking>properties>advanced. I am finding no receive side scaling to enable/disable. It is disabled though as I have seen in my cmd prompt. I am going nuts here. Don't know what my next step should be. Please give me a clue as what is wrong. Thanks

  • JDBC Receiver does not convert empty string to NULL

    Hello experts,
I am facing a problem with an INSERT statement to ORACLE DB where some of the fields are empty, for example:
    - <STATEMENT_VLP_CONT_DETAILS>
    - <TABLE_VLP_CONT_DETAILS ACTION="INSERT">
      <TABLE>VLP_CONT_DETAILS</TABLE>
    - <ACCESS>
      <VLP_HDR_ID>43</VLP_HDR_ID>
      <VLP_CONT_LINE_ID>1</VLP_CONT_LINE_ID>
      <QUANTITY>1</QUANTITY>
      <OWNER>CBHU</OWNER>
      <SERIAL_NO>3372739</SERIAL_NO>
      <CONT_ISO_CODE>2300</CONT_ISO_CODE>
      <WEIGHT>6.44</WEIGHT>
      <POL>ILASH</POL>
      <POD>FRFOS</POD>
      <FD>FRFOS</FD>
      <OPER_CODE>COS</OPER_CODE>
      <CUR_STOW_LOC>150102</CUR_STOW_LOC>
      <PRV_STOW_LOC />
      <HAZARDOUS>N</HAZARDOUS>
In the JDBC Receiver comm channel I selected: Interpretation of Empty String Values = NULL Value.
It seems the empty strings are not converted to NULL values as can be seen in the reflected SQL statement in RWB:
    INSERT INTO  VLP_CONT_DETAILS (VLP_HDR_ID, VLP_CONT_LINE_ID, QUANTITY, OWNER, SERIAL_NO, CONT_ISO_CODE, WEIGHT, POL, POD, FD, OPER_CODE, CUR_STOW_LOC, PRV_STOW_LOC, HAZARDOUS, EMPTY, REFER, OOG, HAZARD_IMDG, TEMP_SET, TEMP_MIN, TEMP_MAX, FRONT_OVL, REAR_OVL, RIGHT_OVW, LEFT_OVW, OVERHEIGHT, COMMODITY, BOOKING_REF, ALLOTMENT, YARD_LOC, LD_SEQ_CRANEID, LD_SEQ_NUMBER, LD_STATUS, STACKABLE, OPT_PORT_CODE1, OPT_PORT_CODE2, OPT_PORT_CODE3) VALUES (44, 1, 1, CBHU, 3372739 , 2300,  6.44, ILASH, FRFOS, FRFOS, COS,   150102,         , N, N, N, N,      ,      ,      ,      ,    ,    ,    ,    ,    ,     ,             ,    ,           ,    ,    0,    64, N,      ,      ,      )
So, I am getting the following error:
Could not execute statement for table/stored proc. "VLP_CONT_DETAILS" (structure "STATEMENT_VLP_CONT_DETAILS") due to java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00936: missing expression
    Help would be appreciated.

    Hi Effi,
There is a mismatch in the field and thier value.
    Here field id 37
    VLP_HDR_ID, VLP_CONT_LINE_ID, QUANTITY, OWNER, SERIAL_NO, CONT_ISO_CODE, WEIGHT, POL, POD, FD, OPER_CODE, CUR_STOW_LOC, PRV_STOW_LOC, HAZARDOUS, EMPTY, REFER, OOG, HAZARD_IMDG, TEMP_SET, TEMP_MIN, TEMP_MAX, FRONT_OVL, REAR_OVL, RIGHT_OVW, LEFT_OVW, OVERHEIGHT, COMMODITY, BOOKING_REF, ALLOTMENT, YARD_LOC, LD_SEQ_CRANEID, LD_SEQ_NUMBER, LD_STATUS, STACKABLE, OPT_PORT_CODE1, OPT_PORT_CODE2, OPT_PORT_CODE3
    And value is 35
    44, 1, 1, CBHU, 3372739 , 2300, 6.44, ILASH, FRFOS, FRFOS, COS, 150102, , N, N, N, N, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , 0, 64, N, , ,
Give empty values for nuil fields so that they can be made NULL by jdbc adapter

  • JDBC Receiver Adapter: Guarnteed delivery

    Hi All,
I have a JDBC receiver scenario.  I was investigating the Guarnteed ( Exactly Once ) delivery option of the JDBC receiver adapter.  The Following two scenarios needs to be validated
The Technical scenario is SAP R/3 ---  XI -
    Database
Scenario1 :  The message has been triggered by SAP r/3 to XI.  The Target Database then crashed.   The message errors out in the Adapter engine and was not sent to the database. Would the messsage be resent again, till successful delivery. Do we need to set the Advance Mode, parameter "Number of Re-tries of database Transaction on SQL error".  Or should this happen automatically from the Adapter without any setting in the adapter configuration.
Scenario2:  There is a setting as Exactly Once Handling .
i have gone through the documentation on SAP help
    [http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_03/helpdata/EN/22/b4d13b633f7748b4d34f3191529946/frameset.htm]
But this is not very illustrative
    it has 2 modes
PERSISTENCE ( values local and DB )
CONFLICT RESOLUTION ( Error or Redo )
Is this only after a post-commit system crash? Can anybody provide some more documentation, or blogs for the same.
In all we would expect that, a message Triggered from R/3 should always be delivered to the database.
please let me know know your opinions on the same.
    Thanks in advance,
    Best Regards
    Abhishek

Would the messsage be resent again, till successful delivery
The default behaviour of adapter engine is to try sending data to receiver 3 times at an interval of 5 minutes after which the message goes into system error. You may change this behavior through visual admin. After this, you may also manually restart the message.
Do we need to set the Advance Mode, parameter "Number of Re-tries of database Transaction on SQL error"
This is not mandatory. As I mentioned above, it is handled to a certain exten automatically.
Is this only after a post-commit system crash?
The persistance factors when defined could help in error handling cases. This could also be used when a system crash occurs at the time of message processing. Then the message processing has to be done for the second time and one of the two conflict resolution methods are used.

  • Broken pipe error in Sync Send JDBC Receiver:   Extremely Serious issue

    Hi forum,
I have a serious error in a JDBC->XI--> JDBC scenario,
Step1: I use a sender JDBC channel to select some distinct values from  a table say X, and update the same rows,
Query SQL Statement: select distinct Branch from dbo.X where status = 0
Update SQL statement: update dbo.X set Status = 2 where Status = 0
    Step 2: enter BPM
    Step 3: enter a loop
Step 4:make a synchronous call to the same table X, to fetch some records,
    SQL query: select * from X where status = 0 and Branch = i; Update X set status = 9 where Branch = i
Step 5: close loop,  this loop iterates for 5 or 6 times depending on i, which is no. of branches selected by the sender JDBC channel
so all the calls are to the same table, same databsse(SQL Server)
the problem is when this sync calls happens in the loop, it some times gives following error, which i se in RWB:
<b>Error Unable to execute statement for table or stored procedure. 'X' (Structure 'STATEMENT_X') due to com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: An exception occurred during the DBComms.transmit operation. Exception:Broken pipe (errno:32). Context:(2217)</b>
i have no way to trace the cause of the error, the database is perfect and the error logs in the SQL server shows no trace of any error,
    Note: It works sometimes
i dont know whom to approach, pls help
the issue is very very serious as its in production system,

    Hi Sudeep,
SAP Note 846079 - XI 3.0 JDBC Receiver: # of Retries on SQL Error w/o Effect
Please check the following SAP note also - 831162
Some info which i found there and can be relevant in to your scenario.....
Q: I am using a JDBC Receiver Adapter in conjunction with the  Lotus Domino Driver for JDBC perform an INSERT or UPDATE operation on a database. When sending a message to the receiver, the Adapter Monitoring shows the following error message:
    "java.sql.SQLException: [Lotus][Domino Driver for JDBC]Invalid cursor state"
Is there a fix for this issue?
A: To work around this JDBC driver problem, activate the Advanced Mode for the respective JDBC Receiver channel and configure the setting "Number of Retries of Database Transaction on SQL Error" to a value > 0. Additionally, make sure that the setting "Database Auto-Commit Enabled" is also active as the Lotus Domino Driver for JDBC does not support transactions.
Apply note 846079 before configuring this scenario.
Q: The TCP/IP connection to my database host is running over an unreliable network connection, i.e. the connection is sometimes interrupted. Consequently, I sporadically receive an SQLException regarding a closed connection in the system trace or audit log or the connection as well as the JDBC Adapter channel are hanging.
How can I work around this connectivity issue?
A: Enable the "Advanced Mode" for the respective JDBC Adapter channel and select the option "Disconnect from Database After Processing each Message".
Note that this might put additional load on your DBMS due to the creation of a new database connection for each message.
I dont have access to a database right now, so i am not able to check this.
Also check the JDBC driver compatability as mentioned in the above note.

  • Using TEST mode in sender file channel to trigger jdbc receiver channel

    Hi
In order to call a jdbc receiver channel every 15 minutes I intended to use a file sender channel as a trigger where I set the Processing Mode to TEST. However, I would like to make multiple simultaneous different calls to the jdbc receiver channel, so I have multiple files in the folder, where the file sender channel is listening. Quality of Service in the file sender channel is set to Best Effort as the call is syncroneous.
However, because the messages in the folder are not deleted, only the first message is being processed no matter whether I choose Processing Sequence "By Date" or "By Name".
I would like to avoid having to create 15 folders containing one message each, so is there another way of doing it?
By the way, I redirect the response from the jdbc receiver channel to a different folder, but I think this is irrelevant in this case.
    I use PI 7.11
    /Mikael

Thanks for your answer, but I would like to avoid using Availability planning.
Right now I am thinking about using "Advanced selection for source file" and then just specify 14 different folders here each containing one trigger message, but it seems that only the oldest message (if I choose Processing Sequence = Date) or the first message alfabetically (if I choose Processing Sequence = Name) is being processed across the many folders which I think is very weird!

  • Sync/Async - JMS receiver comm. channel not processing

I have a Sync/Async scenario (without bpm) in PI 7.11:
    RFC -> PI -> JMS
whereby the JMS receiver comm. channel does not fully process the message.
More specifically, the RFC sender comm. channel gets a message in and passes the message to the JMS channel, but that JMS channel within the RWB comm. channel log only shows the entry:
    - Message processing started
The odd twist to this is that when we bring the PI server down, then back up again, (or wait a period of time, still trying to determine this period) the FIRST message attempt does successfully get processed, i.e. the first message on that JMS receiver comm. channel RWB log shows as:
    - Channel successfully processed the message: 08499236-387c-11e0-b002-000025bab2c2
    - Stored the correlation ID 08499236-387c-11e0-b002-000025bab2c2 of the request JMS message: ID:c3e2d840d4d8d4f24040404040404040c754dc12d8b54ec6  correponding to the XI message: 08499236-387c-11e0-b002-000025bab2c2
    - Message processing started
(but then because of an issue on the target system, no response comes back, so then we'll additionally get the log entry:
    - Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: no message received
Any suggestions appreciated on what I can check here to try and figure this out. Possibly because the first message eventually errors out, it is stopping the other subsequent msgs from getting processed...
When I check the audit logs of a 'success' msg vs. a not-successful msg, the success msg has an entry (and subsequent entries) of:
14.02.2011 12:50:19 Information Transform: transforming the payload ...
14.02.2011 12:50:19 Information Transform: successfully transformed

14.02.2011 12:50:19 Information XMB Message as Binary was forwarded to the SAP XI JMS service succesfully.
14.02.2011 12:50:19 Information WRB: entering WaitResponseBean
14.02.2011 12:50:19 Information WRB: retrieving the message for 08499236-387c-11e0-b002-000025bab2c2 ...
wheras the non-success msg shows only:
14.02.2011 12:55:30 Information Transform: transforming the payload ...
14.02.2011 12:55:30 Information Transform: successfully transformed
14.02.2011 12:55:30 Information ROB: entering RequestOnewayBean
14.02.2011 12:55:30 Information ROB: forwarding the request message
14.02.2011 12:55:30 Information ROB: leaving RequestOnewayBean
So, we can see that the message is not "forwarded to the JMS provider..." in the non-success case.
And also the  sxi_monitor shows these messages with a status of "Log version".
    Keith

Hi Siddhesh - yes that was a while back and am trying to remember the resolution.  I have implemented sync/async bridges (as well as async/sync bridges) successfully, so I don't mind checking your settings, particularly I am interested in the settings within the Module tab of the JMS receiver.  I can then compare to mine if you'd like.  Also if you can let me know what underlying queuing system in that target system (e.g. MQSeries?) that would be great.

  • Is it possible to change the settings in AR Properties Advanced tab with Adobe Acrobat XI?

I noticed when I went to print a PDF double sided, that despite the following the guidelines from Adobe on this process, it still printed single sided.  I checked the properties of the PDF itself and on the Advanced tab, the DuplexMode was set to Simplex and was greyed out.
Is it possible to change the settings in that tab with Adobe Acrobat XI?
    Regards
    Sharon

    Dear Sara
    Thank you for your reply.
I have two printers, both support automatic duplexing.  Any PDF we receive
or create we are unable to print double sided on our mac mini¹s.  I didn¹t
make it clear in my question that we were fine on Windows XP, but, having
recently changed to Mac have encountered this frustrating problem.
I did a lot of research prior to recording the question and it appears I am
not the only one who has come across this problem, and I have followed the
guidelines that Adobe promote on their website to be able to print double
sided, which doesn¹t work on the mac mini Osx Mavericks.
Because the Properties, Advanced tab has ³Print Dialog Presets² that are set
to simplex  and greyed out I took that to mean that no matter what printer
settings I make, and I think I¹ve gone through all that I can, the pdf will
not print double sided on Mac but will on XP.
Sorry this isn¹t the reply you must have been hoping for and look forward to
receiving further advice in regard to this matter.
    Regards
    Sharon

  • Updating in JDBC receiver adapter

    Hi Friends,
I came across in the some sdn blogs, Like JDBC to JDBC scenarios i found that in the receiver JDBC adapter there is no place to write update statement or insert statement. Then how the records get updated in the DB.
My actual need is to update the oracle db from sap, which currently using the following statement
    Loop at it_trn_ctl into WA_TRN_CTL.
    UPDATE TableA SET SAP_UPDATE = 'Y'
                                      WHERE PARENT_ID = :WA_TRN_CTL-PARENT_COIL .
    end loop.
should replaced by XI, using the proxy to jdbc receiver. Where i can write the update statement and the where condition.
    Kindly revert back for queries.
    Thanks in advance
