Advanced: Component authoring and sample popup calendar prototype

Question

I've recently completed a new sample popup calendar prototype component to illustrate how to write Creator-friendly JavaServer Faces components. I intented to provide an alternative to the built-in calendar since I know users have had trouble with the built-in one. I know there may be some bugs left like the popup being rendered under menus in IE which would be a simple javascript fix. I'd like this to be the basis for an open sourced calendar that developers could contribute to. I'm not sure how to execute on this plan though.

I wish that your tutorial would be extended into an
example where you
take a competing component set, like a MyFaces or an
ADF component,
and describe what needs to be added in order for
anyone to import and use
it in Creator.I originally started with the myfaces calendar component. It's a more complex component and to get it to work in Creator would require changes to the component itself so it would require building from myfaces source. I think it would be great to have the new ADF components in myfaces to work in Creator, but someone needs to do the work. Unfortunately, I don't have time to do the work since I'm slated to work on other tasks, but I tried to provide enough information for other component developers do the work. I'm also interested in helping in any way I can.
