Advanced Menu Option Missing

Adobe Acrobat X Pro was recently installed on my pc. I noticed some menu options are either missing or have moved and I can't find them. I am specifically looking for the Advanced menu option. I have searched Adobe Forums as well as the internet and haven't found a concrete answer.
Ultimately, I would like to create a date text field, using JavaScript, that will auto-display the current date. I technically know absolutely nothing about JavaScript but managed to find some information online. According to the Acrobat 6 Javascript Scripting Guide, the directions say to choose Advanced > JavaScript > Document JavaScripts to add a script. How do I do this in X?

I don't see JavaScript under Tools. I've gone thru most of the options and can't find anything similar. I have attached an image of what I see.

Is the Advanced Answer Option missing in CP7? (I'm looking in Properties panel.)

Hello there,
I'm new to CP7 but I've seen some online tutorials and they clearly show an Advanced Answer Option for multiple choice question (so I can provide feedback to wrong answer).
Unfortunately I don't see it anywhere in the Properties Panel as I'm supposed to. I just see Character, Format, Shadow & Reflection, Transform.
Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction. (BTW, I have multiple attempts selected in Quiz Properties).

I assume I'm on a normal slide (I am VERY new to CP but I have checked this 2 ways. First, the timeline is not on the Master tab. Second, I have gone to menu at the top for Insert > Question Slide and while there, I noted that Insert > Quiz Master Slide was greyed out and not an option).
I'm afraid I didn't find the 'utils' folder. I looked in all six locations where Captivate has folders (mostly put there automatically) but I may have missed it. I will list those locations below FYI.
However, there has been a solution of sorts. I went into the second folder on the list below and cleared the cache as you suggested. I then ran CP7 as Administrator (advice I'd seen for a different problem on another thread). I created a new blank slide and inserted MPQ. The Advanced Answer Option was there. I then went back the original slide that was giving me problems (still running program as Admin) but once again, no Advanced Answer Option. Strange, no? Luckily, I'm still just at the playing-around stage so it's no problem to kill that first slide and start afresh.
If there's anything else you think I need to know or if you want me to try something else to satisfy curiousity, let me know. Otherwise, I appreciate your advice till here.

RDS Dataview menu option missing

In Coldfusion Builder 2, under the menu Window->Show View, the option for RDS Dataview is missing. The knock on effect is that I can't run any extensions for generating code from database tables becauase I can't browse the datasources. This option was available a couple of days ago. It is also missing from the Other... dialog.

Has anybody else encountered this problem? Does anyone know of a solution? Thanks in advance (PS how come, when using the rich text editor to enter this question, whenever I press return, a new line is added above the current paragraph?)

I have found the solution...
Under Window->Customize perspective...
Select the Menu Visibility tab
Expand the Window node
Expand the Show View node
and there, towards the bottom, is the RDS Dataview menu option, which just needs to be checked.
Of course, this doesn't explain why it went missing in the first place

Design menu option missing

i have two issues :
1) i installed the 4.0.3.853 oracle sql developer data modeller but I dont see the "DESIGN" menu option ?
i am trying to convert a logical model to physical model .
2) for identifying or non-identifying relationship its showing the same DDL , its not compounding the primary key of the child entity with the primary key for parent.
I am selecting identifying/non-identifying relationship by checking/unchecking "Source Optional" check box in "Relation Properties"

It's all in the docs, but here's a starter:
To transform your logical data model to a relational (i.e., physical) data model, a.k.a. database design, click the double right-arrow (>>) in the icon tool bar (if you hover, it'll say "Engineer to Relational Model"). This will display a dialog where you select the logical objects you want to transform to physical. Be sure to set your physical preferences, otherwise the tables et al. will be named just like the logical, which is probably not what you want. For example, if you have an entity named Organization that you want physically named ORGNZT, then you need to indicate this in the entity properties General node "Preferred Abbreviation" as ORGNZT. There are other preferences to set (for example, subtyping presets).
The transform dialog (Engineer to Relational) is re-entrant. When you make changes to the logica after your initial transformation to physicall, you can re-transform your initial transformation, and it will update what needs to be updated in the physical.
I haven't yet figured out how to specify a relationship's corresponding foreign key contraint name (at the physical). For example, I want relationship "Format Code - Publication" to transform to a FK constraint named AMS_PBLCTN_FK01. I know very well how to do this with Oracle Designer, but OSDDM is a different beast I'm just starting to get comfortable with.
Keep in mind that at the logical level, you have an Entity-Relationship model and diagrams; at the physical level, you have a database design (or server model) and diagrams. Different purposes. Always try to drive your changes from logical to physical, otherwise you're just documenting after the fact.

TOOLS menu option missing from Adobe X Standard docs when opened in IE10

Hi,
A few of our users are having issues where any Adobe X document they open in Internet Explorer is missing the Tools menu bar on the top right of the document.
If they open the document in Adobe directly, the Tools menu appears.
It's only when opening in IE that the problem occurs.
Enable third-party applications is checked in Internet Options > Advanced.
I don't have this on my machine - IE displays the Tools menu correctly - so I can only assume it's a plug-in or a setting I'm missing on the users' machines.
Any ideas?

Slightly confused - why wouldn't it be available? Is it a limitation of the browser being unable to activate the plug-ins which are part of Adobe Acrobat X Standard? It's just functionality for altering the layouts of PDFs, page numbering, etc. Should be fairly standard?

SIM numbers Menu Option Missing E7

Hi
I am trying to copy my contacts from my sim to the phones memory.
In the user guide it says -
Select Menu > Contacts.
Select Options > SIM numbers > Copy all to phone.
I am missing the "SIM Numbers" option from the menu.
Does anyone know why that is missing ?
I've also tried to sync them thru Ovi Suite from my Outlook, Ovi is able to read them, ( i am able to click on the contacts icon and browse thru the contacts, however it refuses to sync them to the phone.

Since I have been through the same inconvenience with another model of Nokia terminal, here is a tip.
The SIM card and the phone OS talk to each other via a standard protocol. If your SIM card is old (that is, substantially older than the phone itself), then the SIM card might only support a previous version of the protocol as well as older storage formats, and will not answer all requests as expected by the phone. Apparently, Symbian interprets this in such a way as to disable the "SIM numbers" entry in the contacts/options menu (as well as several other entries), and to print a message "cannot access contacts in SIM card".
Switching your SIM card to a newer one (ask your telecom operator) should solve address the issue satisfactorily (as it did for me).

Balance Display LG Cosmos3 menu option missing

I purchase a LG Cosmos 3 prepaid phone yesterday at a Verizon store for my son. Works great, but the menu selection for displaying the remaining balance is missing. The instructions say #12 but it only goes to #11.
What is the scoop here? I tried calling tech support but they are experienceing higher than normal call volume and as a result, was on hold for super long time and I gave up on that.

Hello SuperDave8020, let's get to the bottom of this together! From the home screen, press Menu, select settings & tools, display settings, click balance display. Highlight Show and press save. Keep us posted if this works for you.

Photosmart C5180 Scan Menu Options Missing

My scan menu only displays two options 1. Scan and Reprint, 2. Scan to Memory card. The options to scan to a file or an email have disappeared. How can I correct this?

Hi Delray,
Since you do not see the option "Scan to computer" after pressing the scan button, it simply related to "No Scan Options".
1) Are you able to scan from HP Solution Center?
2) Try this HP Scan Diagnostic Utility
3) Also check this DOCUMENT which relates to this error condition on the printer.

Bridge issue, menu options missing

My wife has been using bridge for just over a year. Recently photo's starting showing a lock next to them and the option to move or delete is missing.

This is the case on multiple memory cards. restart, reboot has done nothing. May be coincident with recent update.Current update fails.

Missing Menu Options in Flash Builder

I encountered a mystery surrounding several missing menu options in one of my Flash Builder workspaces recently. I wanted to create a new skin for a List control so I right-clicked on my skins folder and looked for the New MXML Skin option. And I looked. And I looked some more. But it wasn't there.
I happened to have another copy of Flash Builder open in another workspace so I gave it a try in that project. Sure enough, the New MXML Skin option was there along with a couple of other options that were missing in the first workspace. Here's a list of the menu options missing from the File --> New menu in this workspace:
Flash Professional Project
MXML Item Renderer
MXML Skin
I'm not sure why those menu options went missing but I was able to work around it by recreating the workspace. I simply created a new workspace, copied all of the projects into the new workspace folder and then imported all of my projects into the new folder. I then had a full set of menu items.
I poked around a bit trying to figure out what went wrong but wasn't able to find a conclusive answer. My best guess is that it has something to do with the fact that I was previously running the Flex 4 beta and that's when I created the workspace with the problem. I compared the workspace .metadata folder and, curiously, there were 25 folders inside the .plugins folder for the problem workspace but only 12 for the newly created one.

This is an eclipse thingy, menus get cached in the workspace' metadata. If you try using a newer build of Flash Builder with a workspace from the previous version, you may notice this behavior.
The workaround is to create a new workspace and import all projects there.

HT1819 'Byte-Range' request error, but no problems using Advanced menu

On Windows Vista PC, latest iTunes update:
No trouble subscribing to podcast feed using Advanced menu. iTunes will even update/load new episodes, but I receive 'byte-range' request error when submitting podcast feed to the directory.
Is it normal to be able to use the advanced menu option, but not be able to submit the same feed to the podcast directory?
PS: No trouble subscribing to same feed with Banshee media player using ubuntu Natty Narwhal. All podcast artwork and information intact.

I'm afraid you've fallen over a requirement that Apple has recently introduced. The iPhone plays podcasts by using 'byte-range requests', which means calling for part of the file at a time rather than the whole thing. Unfortunately some servers don't support this, and there were an increasing number of complaints that podcasts which worked elsewhwere weren't working on an iPhone.
So Apple are now making the ability to handle this a condition of submission. Evidently your server doesn't support this, so all you can do is to ask them whether they can implement it. If not, you will have to find another hosting service - ask about this before committing yourself, and if they say no, or don't know what it is, find another host.

PDF Optimizer option missing under Advanced menu

I am using Acrobat 9.4. I am aware that the PDF optimizer option is under the Advanced menu at the top. However, that option seems to have disappeared. Per the Adobe help file, I am looking in the right spot, but the option is gone.
Is there a way to recover that option? I have searched Google and found someone with the same problem on another forum, but no answers were posted.

If you are running Std, then I do not think that option is available. You need to specify which version of Acrobat you are using, not just the level numer. I.E., Std, Pro, or Pro Extended.

How can I make the Smooth Scrolling option in the Advanced menu apply ONLY to the tab bar?

So, I'm one of those people who usually have 60+ tabs open at any given time. I'm also on a Lenovo laptop with a trackpoint (that may be relevant later).
Right now, I have smooth scrolling disabled.
In previous versions of Firefox, if I sat my cursor on the tab bar and scrolled either up or down, it would scroll across my tab bar at a constant, quick rate, usually taking about two or three seconds to reach the end. This wasn't an animated scroll (I've disabled that animated scroll via about:config in the current Firefox version).
However, now, it's doing something different. There's acceleration to the scroll. If I just tap the scroll in either direction, it scrolls only a few tabs. However, if I hold the scroll for a second, it instantaneously takes me to the far end of the tab bar, completely skipping at least thirty tabs in between.
I have tab scroll buttons added by Tab Mix Plus (smooth scrolling is also not enabled in that addon), and the same accelerating behavior occurs there. One or two taps of the button moves the bar a few tabs to the left or right, but several taps in quick succession takes me all the way to the far end of the bar.
I can restore the old scrolling behavior for the tab bar by turning on smooth scrolling in the Options > Advanced menu, but that turns on smooth scrolling for web pages at the same time. I don't like the web page smooth scrolling, and would rather not have it on.
Or if there's any other way to make it so that scrolling the tab bar moves the tab bar a fixed amount no matter what, that would be great.

HT1420 I have looked everywhere on the menu for this and i cannot locate. From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer. (In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu). Please HELP!!!

If you're using iTunes 11 click on the box icon in the top-left corner to see the " Show Menu Bar "
and from the Menu Bar select Store...
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer.
