ADVANTAGE OF KANBAN V/S RE-ORDER POINT PLANNING

Hi,
Kindly compare the advantages of procument of certain items (C and B class items) using KANBAN and VB, ie Re-order point planning.
Regards,
Prakash Phadake

Kanban is basicaly a technice used for just in time like if product a is required for shop floor then a request is generated at vendor place ( time in advance = time required to deliver the goods at shop floor )
whihc is time based material consumption,
while
in reorder level, it will check the stock at plant and generate the requirements  for a level, which is defined by the planner.
this takes the time required for purchase process.
Hope this helps you, if not please revert.

  • Re-order point planning

    Dear Sir,
We have configured Re-order point planning. Accordingly we have created
the MRP controller and updated the material master (812 materials) with
all the values required for re-order point planning.
With all these settings, system is not running planning after executing
MD01 (total planning), only planning start and stop time is displayed
as a result. Where as if I run single item, single level planning with
MD03 for the same material, system runs the planning and proposes the
purchase requisition also for that material.
Is the planning file creation is the solution of the issue...
if it is then how to create the planning file for bulk material (800 no approx). Do we need to do create the planning file again and again, if we want to add the mateail in Re-order point planning
    Regards,
    Sachin

    Dear Mr Sachin,
For the materials that are relevant for re-order point planning, the planning file entry will be made automatically by the system when the stock level falls below the "Re-Order point".
Then in the next MRP run procurement proposals will be created for these materials.
Hence unless the stock level falls below the re order point, planning file  entries will not be made & system will not create any proposal.

  • Re-order Point Planning -- PR

    Dear Team,
I have created a Purchase Requisition manually. Same is not being considered for MRP run for re-order point planning.
System is creating new Purchase Requisition when i run MRP.
    Where we have gone wrong?
    Thanks and Regards,
    RC

    Dear Chakrapani,
MRP is considering Manually Created PR for one plant. And not considering for some other plant. If Manually created PR are not considered then you will end up in Procuring More material than required.

  • Manual Re order point planning

    Hai Gurus,
I have one doubt regarding manual re order point planning inputs in MRP view.
    CASE :1
    1) MRP type = VB in MRP - 2 view
    2) Lot size = EX
    3) Re order point = 10
In this case if MRP or MPS is done on back ground daily , procurement proposal will be created for qty = 10
also if stock goes to 5 , then again after next MRP/MPS run again procurement proposal will be created for qty = 10.
    CASE :2
    1) MRP type = VB in MRP - 2 view
    2) Re order point = 10
    3) Lot size = FX
    4) Fixed Lot size = 15
In this case If MRP or MPS is done on back ground daily, procurement proposal will be created for qty = 15
also if stock goes to 5 number , then again after next MRP/MPS run again procurement proposal will be created for
    qty = 15.
Kindly confirm if I am right.

    Sekar chand

    Sekar,
Case 1 part 1, generally yes.
Case 1 part 2, assume stock of 5 and existing unfirmed proposal of 10, assume that if you run REGEN and  MRP parameter delete and recreate, you would get a new proposal.
Case 2 part 1, generally yes.
Case 2 part 2, assume stock of 5 and existing unfirmed proposal of 15, assume that if you run REGEN and MRP parameter delete and recreate, you would get a new proposal.
This topic and related Reorder point topics have been discussed in this and other forums dozens of times.  Such scenario questions usually go on and on: 'Yes, but what about this case; yes but what about that case.....etc etc etc.'  Such basic questions are generally not the type of questions that these forums are designed to answer.  Forums are not a substitute for basic training.
It does not appear that you have diligently searched the forums before posting this question. Moreover, if you spent 10 minutes in a sandbox with these basic scenarios, you would learn more there than by reading a hundred forum posts.
This is my last post in this thread.

  • Automatic Re-order Point PLanning

    Dear Experts,
In Material Master .. I've maintained Reorder point... and MRP Type: Automatic Reorder point Planning.
Once the stock falls below the Reorder level... the system needs to generate requisition automatically...
But it is not generating any requisition....
If i run MD02-MRP run.. then the PR is generating..
Please let me know.. how to automate.. the generation of PR, once stock falls below reorder point
    Thanks in Advance

    Hii,
You can create a Background Job for MD02 and schedule it as Daily, Monthly & Yearly.

  • Planning with Re-order point considering external requirements(MRP type V1)

    Dear  all,
We are working for a scenario as mentioned below,
We procure some marterial from our vendors, stock it and then sell to other customers.
Here we want to use Re order point planning considering external requirements , i.e. MRP type V1.
We have maintained following master data
    MRP type = V1
    Re order point quantity
    Lot size = HB
    Maximum stock level
    Planned delivery time.
We have also created source list,Info record and scheduling agreement
We also maintained setting of schedule agreement in source list as 2 (Record relevant to MRP schedule lines generated automatically)
By doing above mentioned things when we run MRP we are getting schedule lines generated through MRP, for the lot size arrived by considering re order level, max. stock level etc.
My requirement is the schedule line that is coming through MRP should get firmed up, whcih is not happening currently.
Pl. guide as what other setting is required for getting firmed schedule lines.
    Regards,
    Sandeep

    Hi
Automatic firming of Schedule lines only possible with the settings of Planning time Fence (PTF) in MRP-1 view with MRP type which allows firming . With Standard MRP type V1 it is not possible.
As per my idea , better to create new MRP type in SPRO by copying V1 settings and give Firming type as 1  additionally. Use this new MRP type in the MRP-1 view and give Planning Time Fence say 30.
When u run MRP then the requirements falling within the PTF get firmed Automatically.
    Pl try and revert back

  • Issue in MRP re-order point

Hello SAP experts, hope you are well, i have i question, if i have implemented a reorder point planning in my materials is there a way that the planner can get an e-mail or notification that any of his materials has gone bellow the reorderpoint?? so that he can now know that there is a problem with that material, thank you in advance.

    Hi,
I can think of 2 things which might be of help.
    1. Use workflows to send mails
    2. Use a z report to list out all re-order point planned materials with their stocks.
For option 1 you would need to refer to a workflow consultant who can set up the mailing (apologies i cant be of much help in this as i have not done it before).
For option 2, what you can do is ask your abaper to develop a Z report for your need. Ask him / her to read the material master data from MARC table & for all re-order planned materials read the field MARC-DISMM with value as VB (manual re-order point) or VM (auto re-order point) or if you have a custom mrp type, then read the same.
Now for each of the re-order planned materials, read the stock from MARD table & check if the stock is below the re-order point, if it is not below then you might choose not to display it, while displaying only those which are below.
Also if you need some additional info, the same can be displayed in the report. Now schedule the report to run every night after MRP run, so in the morning the planners can read the output & carry out their activities. Also they can run it during the day to get real-time info.
    Hope the above helps.

    Vivek

  • Suppression of Re-Order Point Safety Stock Exception Messages

    Hi There!
    Hope someone can help!?
I need to be able to suppress MRP Exception Message 96 - Qty Under Safety Stock but for PD Only.
    Is this possible?
    Cheers,
    Karl

    Hi There!
We have lots of Raw materials controlled by MRP Type PD, which have Safety Stock Value.
However, quite often although the actual stock is lower than the Safety stock Planners have lots of messages (96 - Below safety stocks). However, although Purchase order reciepts may be late, there isn't actually a problem. As When the PO Reciepts actually happen there is enough stock to satisfy actual demand.
We would like to put many of these Raw materials on Re-Order Point Planning, and manage. But we would like to ignore the (96 - Below Safety Stock) for Normal Items.
Hence, Planners have exception messages for REAL Priorities.
    Hope this explains all!
    Cheers,
    Karl

  • Regarding Re Order Point setting

    Hi Experts,
I am in to an implemenation project.i requir that all of my raw/input material should have a automatic re-order point.Sp whenever their stocks go below certain level automatic procurment is done.i.e. Purchase requisition is raised by the system itself.
Second I am not able to configure the shift into my workcentre.I have done all the seetings going through a link in sdn only.
like: i have created a grouping key.
    defined the break key
    defined the **** definition
    defined the shift sequence.
i am then assigning this grouping key to the workcenter & taking the active version but i am only to see one shift in worcenter in the shift & interval pushbutton.
    Please guide me

  • Regarding reorder point planning.

    Hi experts,
I have entered safety stock as 40 pcs., reorder point 50 and created requirement for
    may 09 - 30 pcs.
    jun-09 - 30 pcs.
After executing MRP run it is showing planned order for 50 pcs. only.
But the requirements are not covered I mean to say at last the available qty should be zero.
Please help me on this immediately.
    Rgds,
    Parul.

In Consumption based planning(re-order point planning), planned independent requirements or dependent requirement will not be considered in the net requirements calculation. Instead, it is triggered when stock levels fall below a predefined reorder point .So, all the planned independent or dependent requirements in a certain period of time should have been considered before setting the reorder point
Therefore, these planning procedures are used in areas  for planning both B- and C-parts and operating supplies.(low value materials, but consumption is more)
In reorder point planning, SAP checks whether the available stocks are below the reorder point that has been set for the material. If they are, SAP will create procurement proposal.
We can determine the reorder point manually (u201CVB-Manual reorder point planningu201D MRP Type in standard SAP R/3) or, it can also be calculated automatically using the material forecast (u201CVM-Automatic reorder point planningu201D MRP Type in standard SAP R/3).
In standard SAP R/3 system, besides u201CVB u2013 Manual Reorder Pointu201D and u201CVM u2013 Automatic Reorder Pointu201D MRP Types, there are also other MRP Types that have reorder point as its basis to calculate requirement with additional procedure which count external requirement (sales order and manual reservation) as a requirement. The MRP Type are: u201CV1-Manual reorder point with external requirementsu201D and u201CV2-Automatic reorder point with external requirementsu201D.
If you want to include requirements in the reorder point calculation in addition to the customer requirements and manual reservations,
go to SPRO ->Materials management ->consumption based planning ->master data -> MRP Types
Select the mrp type v1 and
    select the following fields:
o     Requirements for materials to be provided in subcontracting
o     Dependent order reservations on the basis of production orders
o     Dependent order reservations on the basis of maintenance orders or networks
    o     Release orders
    o     Purchase requisition releases
    o     Forecast delivery schedules

  • Automatic reorder point planning -forecast view

    Hi
Our client want to implement automatic reorder point Planning.
Reorder point quantity was maitained from last 3 years  but MRP type is 'ND' as they are not using MRP.
Now i am changing MRP type to:VM  and in forecastting view: i maintained model as:D constant model period indicator:M
    His periods:60 , forecast periods:12 initialization:X tracking limit:4000 selection procedure:2 reset automatically
Is it ok ? than can i run MP30.  and  the client wants to run for many materils(2000).
How can be run for many materials.?
    Regards,
    srihari.M

    Dear,
In automatic re-order oint planning , system uses past consumption data (historical data) to forecast future requirements. The system then uses these forecast values to calculate the reorder level and the safety stock level, taking the service level, which is specified in MRP2 view, and the material's replenishment lead time into account, and transfers them to the material master.
Since the forecast is carried out at regular intervals, the reorder level and the safety stock level are continually adapted to the current consumption and delivery situation. This means that a contribution is made towards keeping stock levels low.
From MP30 you have to executed forecast and system has generated forecast values and updated safety stock and reorder point also. Only thing to remember is you have to maintain service level in MRP 2 view of material master when you use VM- MRP type to calculate safety stock and reorder point
Find bleow the set up following set up for automatic re-order point planning :
1.Material Master Set up : Maintain all the relevent parameters from MRP1 to MRP4 view , Forecasting View
1.MRP Type -VM , Lot Size -EX
2.Procurement Type -E for FG and F for ROH
    3.Planning Startegy -10 or 40 in FG/SFG and 20 for componenet
4.Planned Delivery Time in MRP2 VIEW
5.Indiviaul/Collective Indicator - 1/2 based on your requirement in MRP4 View
    6.BOM Explosion -Keep it blank
    7.Service level percentage -MRP2 view
8.Maintain Forecastin view data like model selection , Histry period , period indicator , Forecast control pramaters ,
10.Make sure that you have min 12-8 monhts total consumption update in Forecasting view .
Configuration : InSPRO -MRP -Check MRP Type -VM-check the details like Re-Orde point .Safety Stock both the automatic calcvualtion box are marked .
Finally as a sample test , select any material -mm02-execute forecast in mm02-forecasting view -exectute forecast -then save .Run MRP in MD03-1,1,3,3,1.NETCH indicator and check the result in MD04
HOPE IT WILL HELP. PLEASE REVERT BACK.

Maintain a text Id as Kanban and make that text as obligatory in sales order and give the option of copy in subsequent documents.

  • Did not get my pre order points (best buy rep help me)

Didn't get my pre order points of 500 for shadow of morder today and also never even got a couple or 25 bonus points for reviews last month
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi aaronc80,
It’s great to see that you’re taking advantage of the My Best Buy bonus points for reviewing products on BestBuy.com! I also appreciate you pre-ordering your games at Best Buy. With that said, I do apologize for any confusion you’ve endured if you’re not seeing points for both the reviews, as well as the Get $10 promotion.
Both of these promotions usually take up to 20 days for the points to appear on your account. Shadow of Mordor came out 9/30, so it may be a few days yet before you’ll see those points. In regards to the product reviews, there are a few reasons you may not see your points, aside from the fact that it can also take up to 20 days. First, the review must be approved and published to receive the points. Also, a maximum of 8 reviews (total 200 points) will be awarded per calendar year per member. Lastly, your My Best Buy membership does need to be attached to your BestBuy.com account to receive the points.
I’m hoping these details help clear up why you’re not seeing any points yet in these two instances! Please don’t hesitate to send me a private message if you’re not seeing the 500 points from your Shadow of Mordor pre-order after 20 days of having picked up your copy, or it being shipped.
