Advantages and disadvantages of using Caringorm Framework.

Hi,
I am new to Caringorm framework.. In our project we need to make discussion whether to use Caringorm framework or a simpler architecture(flex à servicesàServer side) to use
Please let me know the advantages and disadvantages of using Caringorm framework from your experiences.
Thanks in advance.

hi,
Data about an application object is often distributed on several tables. By defining a view, you can define an application-dependent view that combines this data. The structure of such a view is defined by specifying the tables and fields used in the view. Fields that are not required can be hidden, thereby minimizing interfaces. A view can be used in ABAP programs for data selection.
More complicated views can comprise several base tables, the individual tables being linked with a relational join operation. If we dont specify the key fields, it takes time to fetch teh results.

    Hi,
Using third party themes can save your time, but it is not conducive to the expansion and demand change in the future.
It is recommend that customizing your own theme if you had enough budget.

  • Advantages and Disadvantages of using Nintex forms. is this product useful?

So my company has decided to start developing using Nintex products, we initially had Nintex Workflow and now they are thinking of purchasing Nintex forms. and i was asked to start trying it out.
I am currently midway through the development of a sharepoint app and i really like the REST APIs available in sharepoint 2013 as they enable me to develop using javascript and HTML5, quite basic stuff but very powerful.
Now they are asking me to try this black boxed product out, so i have to waste a couple of days on this...
I watched a couple of youtube videos and all they brag about is how easy it is to drag and drop components on the screen and visually design a form when this is the feature i care about the least. To me what counts most is how easy it would be to customize
the form to do something that was not foreseen in the black box product.
What are the advantages/disadvantages of using Nintex forms over using Javascript/HTML 5/Sharepoint REST ?
    many thanks

With a developer hat on, I can appreciate that custom solutions can potentially be easier to build and manipulate, as you are not adopting anyone's framework and may have less constraints building with a blank canvas each time.
With a business owner or business analyst hat on, there are many advantages for using a product or application to build repeatable solutions such as forms.
SharePoint can quickly fall into demise if users (end user or super user) have free reign to build and deploy custom solutions, as they may or may not follow a consistent build pattern, and even other super users or developers can have difficulties interpreting
and adopting solutions, should someone (such as yourself) leave an organisation.
This is where products can provide significant return on investment. Products such as Nintex are built by experts in more than HTML, REST and JavaScript, but SharePoint as well. They provide a framework which ensures Form and Workflow designers follow a consistent
approach, and each solution can quickly be viewed and interpreted by other users.
Data gathering (forms) and workflow are also usually repeatable and work. I.e. in most organisation you need more than one of each. Products targeted to repeatable tasks are more efficient and accurate than custom code solutions and follow a more consistent
and defined approach in building t
Product solutions are continually developed and enhanced - which can be applied to existing creations. E.g. if Nintex Forms deploy an upgrade, all existing forms now have this functionality. There is no manual code updates required. That, and they are also
    supported.
There is definitely a place for custom development in SharePoint, but for the purposes of quickly repeatable solutions such as forms & workflow, there should be a decent amount of analysis into requirements before taking the custom route.
    Cheers

  • [Standby Database] Advantage and Disadvantage of using stanby redolog

Hi fellow DBA. I'd like to ask the disadvantage and advantage of using standby redo logs. I hope you could help me out. Thanks

    Advantages
    1. if your Standby needs to run on Maximum Availability or Protection modes you have to use the Standby redo logs
    2. Redo data writen on the primary will be written to standby at the same time. therefore if you primary fails you have a fall back option without or minimum data lost.
(LGWR with Sync option on Maximum Protection will have Zero Data lost.)
    3. It uses LGWR than ARCH process on the standby.
    4. If you are using Cascaded Destinations (cascade Standby Databases - One standby sends the Redo to another Standby ) Then you have to use Standby redo logs.
    5. Standby redo logs can create even after the standby database creation.
    Disadvantages
    1. Your Primary Has to Write data into two different Redo logs. Hence there will be a delay on the transaction response time.
(But with Maximum Availability and LGWR with aSync option will not wait the transactions to be commited on standby database) .
Refer the note 219344.1 Usage, Benefits and Limitations of Standby Redo Logs (SRL)
Hope you will have a fair idea about this

  • Advantage and disadvantage of using the utility RAID

Hello, I do need a little help.
I just got a new Mac Pro 8Core, with 6x8 GHz ram, two 2TB hard drives. I would love to know what would be the advantage doing RAID using the mac utility. Will the computer work faster and by aprrox. how much? Is there a disadvantage. Is it worth dong it?
    Thank you in advance.
    ME

In short, you can improve the performace of your mac by "striping" your drives in a RAID 0 configuration, but i would strongly advice against it, as it is not a fault tolerant configuration, meaning that if one of your drives fail, it will mean you loose all your data (yes even the data written to the healthy drive) because of the way it is written to disk in that config. And seeing you are using 2TB drives, I assume that is also your main storage.
If you are looking to improve the performace of your mac you should rather look in to getting a separate solid state drive for the system and application, and keep your documents and media on the 2TB drives. A SSD will usually reduce both the time it takes to boot your system, and the time to launch applications among other things, and is the single best upgrade for your already spiffy system. A 40GB drive should be just fine, but you would want to do some research first , as the performance can vary a lot among manufacturers.

  • Advantages and disadvantages of using only sequence files or working with sequence files in projects

    Hello,
can anyone please tell me the advantage of using projects instead of just a sequence file? Do I need projects only if I have more than one sequence file?
    Thanks a lot!

    MGH,
Projects are meant to help with organization of TestStand files, but with the intention of use as part of a deployment of your test system.  As the TestStand Reference Manual (page 2-5) puts it:
"In TestStand, you can create a workspace to organize and access your development files. A TestStand workspace file (.tsw) contains references to any number of TestStand project files. A TestStand project file (.tpj) contains references to any number of other files of any type.
Use TestStand project files to organize related files in your test system. You can insert any number of files into a project. You can also insert folders in a project to contain files or other folders."

  • Advantages and Disadvantages of Using Oracle 7 Client with Oracle 9 Server

    Hello,
I was wondering what are the advanatges of using Oracle 7 client with Oracle 9 Server versus using Oracle 9 Client with Oracle 9 server.

Some years ago I used 7.3 Client with 9i DB, and I don't remember of particular problems, but I'm speaking of Sql*Plus only. Are there specific problems ?
Of course the best thing is to install one 9i Client (did you already do it ?) : if there are same problems, then that's not compatibility issue.
And what are advantages of using 9 Client with 9 server other than 7 is no longer supported. You're sure you won't have compatibility problems.

Since it's a 4 year old machine, in it's end of life stage and 10.7+ will slow it down in performance, I'd say stay on 10.6.8 and be happy.
10.6 still has a rather large amount of the OS X version market share and Apple isn't doing what they did under Jobs was to ignore a OS X version still in significant market share.
Apple HQ and about 750,000 Mac's got compromised by the Flashback botnet, so Apple went all the way back to 10.5 Intel to fix the problems they neglected so now they are paying better attention to the older OS X versions.
There will ALWAYS be a newer OS X version with more bells, whistles and eye candy to drive a hardware purchase, however unless your machine was purchased within a couple years of a new OS X release, it's likley best to just kick back and enjoy what you have and make it last.
There are people out there still running 10.5 on PowerPC machines even.
OS X 10.4/10.5 need to upgrade, 10.6.8 ok still
You can try to keep up with Apples asinine annual OS X release cycle, but it's only going to cost a lot more money in software, headaches and even bricked hardware, which occured to a LOT of people when 10.7 was released.
If a OS X upgrade bricks your machine and your not in AppleCare, your screwed.
    http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
If your machine can't go to 10.8, then it can't do 10.9, so you'll be behind again here shortly when it's released this fall.

    Hi Nitin,
A view can be thought of as either a virtual table or a stored query. The data accessible through a view is not stored in the database as a distinct object. What is stored in the database is a SELECT statement. The result set of the SELECT statement forms
the virtual table returned by the view. A user can use this virtual table by referencing the view name in Transact-SQL statements the same way a table is referenced.

    Hello Ratish,
The advantages and disadvantages are primarily based on the light weight client and heavy client.
    Excel -
    1. It is heavy weight and needs a client installation
    2. Analysis is easier , as excel functionalities can be used over BI data
    3. People who know excel will like this
    Web-
      1. It is light weight and no installation needed at the client as browser will be available
      2. Can not analyze the data from the report ( you need copy to excel)
In simple analysts and expert users like excel.
Users who just view the report and no more analysis will be happy with web.

  • Advantages and Disadvantages of  Applet over JSP/servlet

Can some one please let me know what are the major advantages and disadvantages of using Applets over JSP/Servlet technology?

Well, a servlet / jsp is generated on the server, an applet on the client side. That's the most important difference.
Appelt's usually are for little applications like games and stuff, you can run in a browser.
Servlets are for dynamic pages, for example database-viewing and stuf...

  • Advantages and disadvantages among Timer, ScheduledExecutorService, Thread

Hi, what are the exact advantages and disadvantages among using Timer, using ScheduledExecutorService and just using Thread (Thread.sleep(...))?
For the simple task which needs to poll some values by some interval (the interval is not supposed very accurate, maybe about 5 seconds just ok), is it ok for just using Thread, like:
    run() {
      while(isRunning) {
         Thread.sleep(5000);
         //do something
    }?

    jiangyc wrote:
Why using Timer and TimerTask is simpler and better than using Thread directly? Because it handles the rote stuff that's not directly part of your application. Ideally, your code should just be the marginal stuff that's specific to your app; anything else should be in the library you use. The less code the better.
I feel just using Thread doesn't make my code hard to maintain and by far I don't find any performance issue raised by using Thread (in our swing application, there are maybe less than 10 Thread objects which take care of the different polling tasks). It's not a performance issue; it's a code management issue. (Although the chances are good that Timer will have been well-tuned.) The less code you have, the less code you have to wade through to fix bugs, make changes, etc. This might not seem like much when it's a small program, but it adds up. In a business environment where you have huge codebases worked on by dozens of people (many of whom don't work there anymore) it becomes really important to only write what you have to and no more. Maybe if you're doing a small project it's not important, but keeping your code clean a good habit to get into.
And I wonder the base implementation of Timer and TimerTask is not using Thread?Of course it is. That's not the point. The point is that it keeps your code cleaner.
When you use Thread directly, probably the only part that's directly relevant to your program (as opposed to any other program that uses Thread) is the value you're sticking in Thread.sleep() -- the delay. You specify that in the schedule() call to the Timer.
If you keep your use of Thread minimal, then it might not be much bigger than using Timer/TimerTask, but the latter does more, including stuff you'll probably need to add (like ways to cancel the task).
Also, when you do this using Thread, you're exposing the implementation, but when you use Timer.schedule, you're exposing the intent. The latter makes for clearer code.
