  • In R12.1.3, MO:Security Profile Vs HR:Cross Business Group precedence

    Hi All,
In R12.1.3, Which profile option has higher precedence in MOAC structure.
If i set the HR:Cross Business Group to NO at resp level and MO: Security Profile, which is associated to Global Security Profile which has two OUs of two different BGs.
    For example:
    I have BG1 - OU1
    BG2 - OU2
    Case 1:
Global Security Profile - XXGSP has both OU1(BG1) and OU2(BG2) associated.
    HR:Cross Business Group - NO
    HR:Cross Business Group - BG1
In Purchasing Responsibility, what could be the behavior when i create PO?. Will it show both OU1 and OU2? or OU1?
    Case 2:
Global Security Profile - XXGSP has both OU1(BG1) and OU2(BG2) associated.
    HR:Cross Business Group - Yes
    HR:Cross Business Group - BG1
In Purchasing Responsibility, what could be the behavior when i create PO?. Will it show both OU1 and OU2? or OU1?
    Case 3:
Global Security Profile - XXGSP has both OU1(BG1) associated.
    HR:Cross Business Group - NO
    HR:Cross Business Group - BG2
In Purchasing Responsibility, what could be the behavior when i create PO?. Will it show both OU1 and OU2? or OU1?
    Case 4:
Global Security Profile - XXGSP has both OU1(BG2) associated.
    HR:Cross Business Group - Yes
    HR:Cross Business Group - BG1
In Purchasing Responsibility, what could be the behavior when i create PO?. Will it show both OU1 and OU2? or OU2?

  • Cross Business Group approval

    Hi,
I have a situation. In BG-1 there an employee record
    BG - 1:
    Mr. X
    In BG -2:
    Mr. A
    Mr. b
    Mr. C
Mr. in BG-1 is a manager of MR, A,B and in in BG-2.
if MR A, B and C send any request using Employee Self Service. Will these request goes to Mr.X whose record is in BG-1 provided HR:Cross business group profile is set to YES.
    Regards

It should come if you use Supervisor Hierarchy in your AME rule.

  • Cross Business Group employees PO Approval?!

    Dear PO Experts,
I have situation some thing like this. I have 3 business groups called BG-A and BG-B
I have employees defined in BG-A as follows who are PO approvers(Who has authority to Approve PO)
    John
    Adam
    Smith
I have employees defined in BG-B as follows, who makes PO.
    Nancy
    Maria
    Now my question is?
Can John(BG-A) approve a PO made by Nancy(BG-B)? (note: these two employees are defined in Different BGs)
Please let me know your views.
At this point in time John, Adam and Smith names defined as employees in BG-B as well to fecilitate the approval process?
Note: we are using Approval Workflow.
    Regards
    SK

    Hi,
Employees are restricted at Business Group level and not at Operating Unit level. So only employees belonging to the same business groups can be used to form an approval list.
So you cannot use employee from a different business group(A) to approve PO created by another employee from business group B.
Let me know if this clears your doubt.

  • IRecruitment for Multiple Business Group

    Hi Gurus,
I have US business Group and iRecruitment enabled for it. Now I am adding Canada Business Group. How do I enable the iRecruitment for it (do I create a different site? do I use same site? how to assign responsibility for CA?), when I register in the existing iRec site the person gets registered to US BG. Any information, help, guide, instructions, please let me know
    Thanks in advance.

This is a bit of a headache. Essentially you'll need to:
    1. Clone the iRecruitment responsibilities (eg, iRecruitment Visitor) for each Business Group
    2. Copy the delivered IrcVisitor.jsp pages and modify the responsibilityKey and securityGroupKey for each site. For example, you will have a XxUsIrcVisitor.jsp, XxCaIrcVisitor.jsp and so on.
    3. Re-do all the personalizations specific to each country at the appropriate level (ie, not Site!).
    I hope that helps!

  • How to go for multiple business group

    Dear All.
This is a very common and perhaps very old question now. But I just want to check what is the common process to go through to achieve multiple business groups. We are in oracle 12.1.XX and have single business group but now looking to implement more business group for other countries in same instance. I understand most of the objects would be same and they can be reused like DFF, Locations, Lookups, Value set etc but need to focus more on RICEW components.  May I request you to please share your experience on this and let me what are the mandatory steps we need to follow, like running some seeded programs, restructuring other objects, creating seprate DFF, Valueset etc.
Thank you in advance (But that dosent mean I will not thank you later on )
    Avinash

    Hi Vignesh,
Thanks again for your quick response..
We are not migrating employee records.. we have one business group already and we want to create new business group for newly aquired company which is in other legislation. So just want to know what would be impact on existing BG and what are the objects we can reuse. For example we need to create New responsibilities, Menu, functions, job, position, person type etc.. Similarly we can use existing location, valuesets from existing BG in our new BG. Like this we want to create a list first so that we can plan our implimanation and come up with timeline..
I hope it is clear now.
    Thanks,
    Avinash

  • Single Item Master across Business Groups

    Hi Gurus,
Client wants to implement single item master across the business groups (BG).
Does this require set up of HR Profile for allowing Cross Business groups?
Is there any other setting that needs to be done (in addition to traditional Inv Org definition)?
    Appreciate your early response.
    Thanks,
    Sudarshan

    Sudarshan
I think you need to setup Hr security profile only if you are using that. If not you just need to enable the profile value for cross business group. This is required just in case if an employee needs to be picked up in the lov in an item attribute (I don't remember whether there is one) from diff BG.Also move order approvals need to be tested if you are using that feature.
In general I think anything that need to do with employees need to be tested.
    Thanks

  • Multiple business group situation

    Hi,
I am working on a project for a company having multiple BG.
HR manager, whose in formation resides in BG lets say BG1 wants to views the record of employees who are residing in another BG say BG2.
Can anyone provide step by step guidance in this regard that how this task can be achieved and what will be the steps in detail.
    Regards
    Majid

    Hi Mohammed,
I think you already have another post with the same issue and I have already mentioned the steps to achieve the functionality. It is always recommended to have one post for one issue as it will help others too if they are facing the same issue, try out below steps to achive your requirement
    1. Create a global security profile.
    2. Assign this security profile to the HR manager resp for which you want to provide access of employee across BG
    3. Set the profile option HR:Cross Business Group to Yes
    4. Now using the HR manager resp navigate to People -> Maintain using templates -> Maintaining Employees -> Click on tourch option in toolbar to find an employee.
On search form there is a field called business group available, if a global security profile is assigned to the responsibility then the user can select any other business group and then search any employee as required.
Try this out and let me know if you face any issues.
    Thanks,
    Sanjay

  • How to setup Business Group with Global Legislation?

    Hi All,
We are exploring possibility of creating International Business Group with no Legislation Code for our client. The client has operations in multiple geographies.
I found following document in Metalink
How an International Business Group be created with no Legislation Code? [Doc ID 851711.1] It mentions "Global legislation must be installed in order to set up a Global Business Group. The business group is created just like any other, but with Global legislation selected. You will need to use Global responsibilities to access it."
When we tried to create a business group with Legislation Code as 'Global" we did not find any such Legislation Code in dropdown of *Business Group Info classification.
Has anybody implemented Global Legislation before? Any information on Setup Steps, Challenges faced, bugs and issues faced with other modules especially OTL would be appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Amit

I wasn't aware there's any such thing as 'Global Legislation' in HRMS and I think the Metalink Note you mention is misleading. There are multiple concepts here being mixed up.
    hrglobal and Data Installer
Oracle deliver legislative seed data through hrglobal and Data Installer. When a DBA runs this they pick the legislations they wish to install. That includes legislations such as US, GB and all legislations where Oracle HRMS deliver seed data (Fast Formulas, balances, etc). One of the options here is 'Global', which ensures that common seed data used across multiple legislations is installed. This process does not create new legislations - it just creates the seed data used by those legislations. 'Global' is not a legislation - it just means that the relevant seed data (Fast Formula, balances, etc) is typically delivered without the legislation_code column being populated.
    Business Groups and Legislations
A Business Group is intrinsically tied to a Legislation Code - they have a one-to-one relationship. When you define a Business Group you have to pick a Legislation and that list of Legislations comes from fnd_territories_vl. The list in fnd_territories_vl has nothing to do with hrglobal or Data Installer. There is no 'global' territory.
    International HR & Payroll
If you are implementing HRMS in a country where Oracle HRMS do not deliver any specific legislative seed data or functionality (ie, the legislation isn't listed in Data Installer) you have the option of using International HR & Payroll. This allows you to install generic seed data into the legislation of your choice, which is again a list from fnd_territories_vl. Again, there's no concept of 'global' legislation. Information on that is available here:
International HR and Payroll [ID 261452.1]
    International Implementations
Customers, like yours, who are rolling out Oracle HRMS to multiple countries have a big choice to make: single or multi Business Group. If you opt for one Business Group you create employees in multiple countries all within the same Business Group. That Business Group is tied to just one of those country's legislation codes - which you go for is up to you but that's generally the Legislation Code of the International HQ. The problem with this approach is that you can't leverage the legislative-specific functionality for each of the other countries.
If you opt for multi-Business Group you typically define one Business Group for each country so that you leverage the legislative-specific functionality for each country. This is generally more popular but doesn't suit everyone: you can have problems with employees transferring from one country to another, etc.
    Global Structures
Oracle HRMS has forced you to tie a Business Group to a legislation code for many years. As mentioned above, this causes a number of problems. To mitigate those, Oracle have delivered a number of enhancements that help you model global businesses:
    1. Global Organization Hierarchies
    2. Global Security Profiles
    3. Global Overseas Deployment functionality (nickname GOD/GOLD)
    4. Cross Business Group profile option
    5. etc
    I hope that helps.

  • Individual Business Groups

We have existing financials running with a Business Group (not the set up BG).
Now we are implementing HR & Payroll. I know we should use the same business group.
But is it something worng, if we define a separate new BG for HRMS implementation (Though we have sparate BG for Finacials & HRMS, the SOB is one & the same). What kind of impacts will it have considering the transfer to GL, approval process in Financials, etc.
    Thanks.

First thing for one legislation it is advisable to use one BG
Please let us know why you are planning to create the Separate Business Group and is there any specific business Reason for that..
If you define a separate business group then all your transaction will reside in this New Business group only. You cannot use the employees in the new BG for any PO approvals or other transaction in a Different BG
Yes you can see the employees across BG by enable cross Business Group
Also Oracle recommends to have one BG per legislation
    Thanks

  • Define a new business group

My company has been divided into two so i would like to define a new business group for the sister company.
My question is in what ways will the defining of the new business group affect the creating of the new payroll and elements for the sister company.
Is it possible to use the same elements that were defined for the company initially or is it that i will have to define all the elements all over again for the sister company?
The reason why i am asking is because there will be no change in the allowance and/or deductions that will be performed on the emps that are in sister company and the actual company.
    all comments are highly appreciated!

    Hi,
Is your business already decided that you should go for a new BG for your sister company??
If you are planning to go for a new BG, then you have to do setup/implementation for your sister company from scratch.. You have to define all the elements all over again for the sister company.. It's to be treated as a different entity now as it is detached from Parent..and this is required for better reporting purpose..
Since you informed that your sister company is going to follow the same set of rules /approach like parent company, then why don't you keep both business in same umbrella ..I mean BG..
In this case your sister company implementation is going to be treated as a rollout or an extension to parent...
Now choice is yours to decide where you want to stand.. :)
It's indeed a nice question, please wait for few more suggestions from other Business Gurus.. :)

  • New Business Group in HR 11.5.7 FP.G.

New Business Group in HR 11.5.7 FP.G.
    Hi all,
We have Oracle HR 11.5.7 (Family Pack G), SSHR 5.2, WorkFlow 2.6.0.
We currently have two different Business Groups for Country A (Main Banking Operations) and Country B (Banking Operations Abroad). The Human Resources Dept wants to create a New Business Group to hold information for an Insurance Company that belongs to the Group (base at Country A) but whose employees'(currently they are not held in Oracle HR) have different collective agreements and reporting structures. Also users of Insurance not to be able to see data from banking Operations, but some users in banking to be able to see all data.
Firstly, can anyone help us regarding the pros/flexibility and cons/limitations of creating a New Business Group for the purpose described above?
From the way I see it if we create a New Business Group we will have more overhead even if the Flexfield Structures will remain the same.If we use the existing Country A BG to hold this info we will have to change all responsibilities/users/ profiles to restrict access based on less clearly defined lines as opposed to a New BG.
If we will proceed with the creation of a New Business Group (Users requested for a new BG to be created) does anyone knows or have an implementation/priority step guide/plan for a new BG not limited just to the creation of the Organization details?
Does anyone have an indication as to the average time required to setup a new BG as described above with all related information completed(security/ responsibilities/Organizations/positions/jobs/locations/grades/ elements/element links/special info/etc)?
Lastly, we recently setup SSHR 5.2 for the purposes of Online Appraisal System for the BG of Country A-Main Banking Opreations. Is there any impact that we have to consider, regarding the new BG?
I hope someone can give me some feedback!
Thanking you in advance for your much appreciated help.
    Best regards,
    Elena

    Dear 'thierry' and 'HCMgaclark'
Thanks a lot for your replies.
In case I convince Key Business users to use the existing BG is there an easy way to exclude these new employees from showing in all reporting unless we want to display them?
One reason that will cause us difficulties to do that is the fact that we are not using the Position/Organization Hierachies of the HR. instead we use an additional Organization Flexfield to hold a code that represents our organizational structure due to our Payroll links.
We use Discoverer 4.1.41.05 for reporting purposes. We created our own EUL and have 2 BUsiness Areas, one for each BG.Users connect as Super Users (Responsibility). If we add these employees in the existing BG, what worries me is that we have to specifically exclude from each report the new employees and structures while in some cases a user should be able to see both.
is there an easy way out of these problems?
If we eventually decide to use a separate BG does anyone knows or have an implementation/priority step guide/plan for a new BG not limited just to the creation of the Organization details?
Thanks a lot for your time and help.
    Best regards,
    Elena

  • How to make National Identifier unique across business group

    Hi Everyone,
    We're into R12.1.3 Oracle HRMS
HR: Make National Identifier Optional = No
HR: NI Unique Error or Warning = Error
    HR:Cross Business Group = Yes
HR: Cross BG Duplicate Person Check = Yes
The idea is to make raise an ERROR whenever user encounter a duplicate national identifier
    Thank You
    Elmer

    Hi Elmer,
Which legislation code are you running? It should be set to 'I'. Check with
    select application_short_name, legislation_code, status from hr_legislation_installations;
If it is not set some post install steps may have been missed.
