Advantest u3741 spectrum analyzer multiple channel traces

Currently I have to design a virtual advantest u3741 spectrum analyzer. But the problem is, i can't configure out on how to put multiple trace channel that can be run simultaneously. In my design, there's only trace A channel and I need to add up 2 more that is trace B and trace C. Can someone please help me with this one. I've attached my vi's design and advantest u3700 llb

    The typical way to make a measurement on any instrument is as follows:
    1.  setup the instrument for the measurement.
    2.  carry out the measurement.
    3.  store result in a file
    1. In this case, you want to setup the instrument to carry out a frequency measurement.  Although I am not familiar with the Advantest SA, I'm sure it should be similar to the Agilent or Rohde & Schwarz SA.  So you first need to set the span wide enough to find the Center Frequency that you want to measure.  Then place a peak marker and set the center to the peak value.  You then narrow the span in order to improve your measurement.  Most likely adjust your resolution (BW) and place a peak marker.  You have now setup the instrument for the measurement.  The example should contain what you need to accomplish this.  Otherwise the user manual should give you the instructions on how to create the commands.
    2. You can read the values associated with the marker which will give you the frequency and amplitude.  There should be seperate instructions for these.  So you can read the frequency by itself.  There should be an example of this as it is a very basic measurement.
    3.  Storing the results... to Excel..  -sigh-  Most people refer to Excel, but end up needing to use a different function.  In any case, are you writing to an existing Excel Spreadsheet which already has information in it?  If not, you can use the "Write to Spreadsheet File.vi".

  • Spectrum Analyzer with NI-6111

    I am trying to build a two channel (simultaneous) spectrum analyzer using Labview 7.0 and the PCI-6111 DAQ. I can make one channel work but it is very slow, but cannot find a method to acquire the second channel while the first is running. Are there any samples that might be useful? Attached is what I have so far. Is there anything I can do to speed it up? Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated.

    I've attached an example that I've thrown together that acquires from two channels and performs an FFT of one or both channels (selectable). I didn't have a problem performing frequency analysis on multiple channels simultaneously. One thing to keep in mind though -- the more analysis you do while performing buffered acquisition, the more likely your CPU will run into trouble with transferring data. I hope my example helps.

  • Need a good Wifi Spectrum Analyzer

    I am looking for an APP that is a good Spectrum analyzer.
    I have a iPhone5, (will be updating to 6 + soon)
    I do a lot of work troubleshooting wifi networks, and on my Android, and I though my older iphone 3gs) I had a good Spectrum analyzer for 802.11 wifi.
    I cannot find a good now, and I hate to have to go to an android just for this reason alone.  need mainly 2.4 GHz, but 5GHz ability would be nice to have.
    I need to able to see each AP, the SSID and channel it is broadcasting on, and I refuse to spend $300 for the Wi-pry external device by Oscium.
    I am already using the Net Analyzer and Status bundle, which is great for networks you are already connected to, but I need to see other networks, and their SSID and their signal strengths individual by AP.
    Any help would be appreciated.  If there is nothing I may be forced to downgrade to an Android device, and that would suck as I hate Android.
    Thanks

    Hi Kappy
    thank you so much for the info   I have a Netgear modem and anned on getting a AirPort Extreme this should still work right ???

  • Spectrum Analyzer using Swept Frequency

    Using the AWESOM example foundhere:

    Give the person who wrote that an A+. I want to replace the FIR filter with a REAL device. I want to send a swept sin wave (just like the original) and then read the response from the Analog Input channel. I put a vi in place of the vi called :IIR Filter for 1 Chan.vi. Go to the NI ftp site to ge t the file named ZZDMKSin.zip (I could not get the file attachment to work within this post) The symptom is the Frequency Response does not get any data that can be seen...
    In the end I simply want to put a REAL UUT in place of the FIR filter. This would turn the VI into an equi
    v of a $30,000 spectrum analyzer! Sooooo cool!
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. My e-mail is [email protected]
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Dave;
    I'm not quite sure if I understood your application, but by my understanding you want to replace one of the Filter VIs by a VI that does data acquisition from a real external device.
    The first thing you might want to double check is the data acquisition VI by itself. Set up the system with the external device and with the data acquisition VI only. Make sure the VI is acquiring data as expected.
    After that done, make sure that the data acquisition VI output is outputing the same data type that is expected at the output of the IIR Filter.vi.
    I believe that either one of the previous issues might be the answer.
    Hope this helps.

  • Iberr = EABO(6) with spectrum analyzer

    hello every body
    I am new user of labview, I sucess to make the connection between a PC and SPECTRUM ANALYZER R3361C but I cannot read or write data from SPECTRUM. In addition, I tried all the value of time out I dont success to read and write.
    After l'execution, I have this message
    iberr = EABO
    EABO indicates that an I/O operation has been canceled, usually due to a timeout condition after a GPIB read.  Before reading from the instrument, verify that the GPIB command you are sending is understood by your device and instructs it to place data in its output buffer.
    Please Help Me
    best regards.

    The first thing to know is whether you are using an NI GPIB board? If you are, I'm assuming that you have already tested it in MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer). After that, did you right click on the board under devices and interfaces and select 'Scan for Instruments'? Does your instrument appear in the list over on the right side of the screen? If it does, is there an instrument description present or does it say something like 'instrument did not repsond to *IDN? query'? If MAX fails to find the instrument, is there another instrument you can connect to determine whether the cable or GPIB board is faulty? If another instrument works, check the manual for the 3361 and see if there is something that needs to be turned on to enable GPIB communication. Some instruments have a menu item that needs to be enabled first. If all of this works, then you can attempt to communicate to the instrument. I have no experience with the 3361 and cannot find it on Advantest's web site. It is the Avantest spectrum analyzer isn't it? If the instrument did respond to the *IDN? query, and you can't get it to repsond to others, then you have a problem with the actual commands you are sending or with the way the instrument is setup.Message Edited by Dennis Knutson on 10-09-2006 07:29 AM

  • Signal processing tools: spectrum analyzer, equalizer available?

    Are there any plug-ins or scripts to perform spectrum analyzing (shows the distribution of frequencies), and an equalizer (multiple band pass filter)?
    Why is there a high-pass filter, but no low pass filter?
    (using cs4)

    Math abstraction notwithstanding, the results are not the same.  For one thing I get problems with using blur around the edges of an image.
    But even beyond the edge issues...
    In the case of my example - preparing for a luminance flattening operation - the blur combines the data from all the background sky glow with that from the stars, and so the result contains pixel values derived from both.  A high pass operation then subtraction leaves me with the background sky glow alone and only eliminates the stars (light spots) and dead pixels (dark spots).  If I choose to combine so as to allow only darkening then I keep the dark spots and eliminate only the stars.
    Am I missing something here?  Are you saying the sky glow somehow influences the result from the high pass filter operation as well, so that the resultant sky glow after subtraction is affected?
    I guess what you're saying is that High Pass is based on blur under the covers then?

  • Agilent Spectrum Analyzer USB Issues

    We are using an Agilent N9320 Spectrum Analyzer with USB communication.
    I am seeing the SA lose communication with the rack about every 25 th run or so, requiring the operator to reboot the device.  This si getting really annoying fast.  I am not having issue with any of the other Agilent USB equipment attached to the rack.  We have tried going from a powered USB hub, to just plugging the SA in directly to the computer.
    When it "loses" communication, the red Remote light is still light, but you cannot send it any commands, it does not respond.
    I tried doing both the reinitialize the connection after each test run or only once per opening of the application.
    Has anyone else had any issues with this equipment?

    What version of NI-VISA do you have installed?
    Try to reproduce the problem while NI I/O trace is running, so you can log the driver calls. You can take a look at the KB below to learn how to perform a trace:

  • HP Spectrum Analyzer LabVIEW Driver/Example

     I'm trying to use LabVIEW to control an HP E4403B spectrum analyzer. The LabVIEW I installed is 2009, the drive/example I downloaded is from the link below:

    I tried all the example program but none of them worked. Some commands like *IDN workes okay, but if I run the example programs, it will cause the spectrum analyzer "Undefined header" error.
    Any one with experience of using HP spectrum analyzer  can give me some clue about what's wrong?
    Best regards,

    Hi Dennis,
    Thank you for responding to my message.
    I deleted some of the commands from two of the subVIs, the error is gone. But the program is still not working right. The following is some details:
    The program I used is: Agilent ESA PSA Series Acquire Trace which is an example of Agilent ESA PSA Series.
    In the subVI: Configure Sweep Coupling.vi, I deleted WE:TIME:AUTO ON; and :BWID:VID:RAT:AUTO ON; from the following commands:
    WE:TIME:AUTO ON;
    :BWID:AUTO ON;
    :BWID:VID:AUTO ON;
    :BWID:VID:RAT:AUTO ON;
    In the subVI: Configure Acquisition.vi, I deleted ET:AUTO ON;
    :INIT:CONT OFF;ET:AUTO ON;ISP:WIND:TRAC:YPAC LIN;ISP:WIND:TRAC:YDIV 10.000000;
    So I can run the program through without an error message. But it doesn't seem it's measuring. Another problem is that it runs very slow, about 2 to 3 seconds per cycle.
    Please let me know what I need to do after I deleted the three commands.
    Thanks,

  • Spectrum Analyzer with Tracking Generator - do I have what it takes?

    Hi Guys and Gals,
    I need to profile the response of some filters in an ultrasonic bit of hardware. I've been told that a Spectrum Analyzer with a Tracking Generator will do what I want in a short space of time, but I don't have one. Problem is I don't know what a spectrum analyzer is (beyond the obvious - analyses the frequency spectrum response).
    I have a 100MHz Arbitrary Function Generator under LV control and I have a LeCroy 600MHz Oscilloscope under LV control and I know a bit about writing LV.
    The question is, can I use the AFG, the Oscilloscope and LabVIEW to make myself a Spectrum Analyzer to do the job?
    Any suggestions or pointers gratefully received.
    Dr Phil

    I believe a Network Analyzer will be of use to you, and fortunately you have the makings of one.  A NA will tell you the amplitude and phase response.  The easiest thing to do is to split the signal from the AFG (use a T) and send one signal straight to the scope and the other to the input of the DUT (device under test).  Connect the DUT output to the second channel of the scope.  Simply measure the ratio of the amplitudes and the relative phase of the two channels and you are all set.  The scope probably has these functions built in, otherwise acquire the time series and let LabVIEW do the work (you can also take the power spectrum if you really want a spectrum analyzer).   If you want to be careful, make sure that the cable lengths in the two paths are equal, but at ultrasonic frequencies I wouldn't worry about it at all.

  • Data acquisition from multiple channels.

    Hello
    Right now, I am able to acquire the signal from a single load cell and display it.But I would like to know of how to acquire  acquire signals from two load cells simultaneously.I am using Labview 6i and I am using AI S-Scan with AI config to acquire the waveform.It would be of great help if you could suggest a simple method to acquire the signals.
    PS: Please find the attached file used for acquisition from a single load cell.
    Looking forward for your reply.

    Hi Manasa,
    If I understand what you are trying to do, it is relatively
    straightforward to configure your application to acquire data on two channels.
    I was unable to run your vi as it was missing some of the subVI’s
    from your application.  However, your
    attachment was sufficient to see what you are trying to do.
    Here is how to add channels:
    1.
    In the I/O Channel Constant, you can add
    additional channels by using a comma or a semi-colon.  For example, to scan the first four channels
    you would put 0:3 in the constant (see attached screenshot ChannelConfig.jpg).  To scan the first and third channel you would
    put 0,2.
    2.
    The AI Single Scan VI will now read from
    multiple channels.  Often it easiest to
    configure the output of this VI for viewing by first putting the data into an
    array using the Build Array VI.  It can
    then be plotted in a waveform graph. (see attached screenshot ReadtoGraph.jpg
    and WaveFormGraph.jpg)
    Just a few notes about “simultaneous” sampling:
    Most of the NI data acquisition cards have a multiplexer
    between the various input channels and the Analog to Digital (A/D) converter
    creating a very small delay between each channel (usually ms range or
    smaller).  NI does make several data acquisition
    cards that can perform true simultaneous sampling, meaning that there is an A/D
    converter for each channel.
    For the large majority of applications, the small delay
    between channels is negligible.

  • How do I read multiple channels at one time using labview with the Fluke Hydra Data Bucket 2620a using serial port?

    I need to take a reading of 15 channels about once a second. I can read one value at a time using the monitor function on the read values.vi driver, but this takes forever to read all the channels.

    I don't have this instrument but I took a look at the instrument driver and it appears that you can only configure one channel at a time to read from. You might want to take a look at the command set for this instrument and see if it allows for configuration of multiple channels. It could be that the instrument driver just doesn't have that built in.

  • How to Read from multiple channels

    Dear Sir
    I am acquiring data using FP-RTD-122 using OPC Client software. I ahve made one socket for that and i am using command
    CWDataSocket1.AccessMode = cwdsReadAutoUpdate
    CWDataSocket1.URL = "opc://localhost/National Instruments.OPCFieldPoint/FP Res\FP-RTD-122 @1\Channel 0"
    CWDataSocket1.Connect
    v = CWDataSocket1.Data.Value
    where v is a variant type.But this is 8-channel RTD so how can i read values from all channels using single socket connection Because at presnt i have to use 8 sockets for all eight channels.

    At least as of FieldPoint 4.0 and earlier (I do not know about 4.0.1 or later), the OPC Server did not support multiple channel analog items. Thus to read all eight channels of a FP-RTD-122 module, you would need 8 separate socket connections. For discrete modules (boolean), the "All" tag, is treated as a single 8 or 16 bit number.
