Adverts appearing when they shouldn't

I recently began seeing adverts where they shouldn't be occuring, most notably, the League of Legends forums but other sites, like imgur as well.
I've run a full virus scan with Mcafee Total Protection, which turned up nothing. I've done a system restore to a week ago, which didn't solve the problem. I've disabled all addons and scripts running on fire fox.

I have this identical problem. For a while my group texts didnt show up on my ipad. Then one day they did, maybe everyone in the group started using the same os version or something. Ever since my first reply to the group there have been complaints of multiple threads. I can not find a pattern for when my group text's decide they want to create a new thread. (it doesnt happen every time) Everyone in the group has deleted the thread, we've all toggled imessage on/off etc. There still hasn't been a solution.

Podcasts are syncing when they shouldn't be

My iPod finally ran out of space so I wanted to remove some of the video podcasts from it. I have my podcast syncing set to sync the selected podcasts so I thought I could just uncheck the ones I didn't want to keep on my iPod and sync to remove them. That didn't work so I put my iPod in manual sync mode and removed them. I turned off the manual sync option and told it to sync again and it's copying all my podcasts (even the ones that aren't checked on the podcast tab). How do I make it stop so I can free up some space?

Ok, I can confirm that the problem doesn't affect music playlists.
I've also noticed that the files that get copied when they shouldn't take up more space than the ones that are supposed to be there. I noticed this by syncing, checking a podcast that was previously unchecked, then resyncing. It wasn't a lot of space, only around 10-25 mb.
I've also found a workaround to get the files off my iPod. I have the "Sync only checked songs and videos" option checked on the summary tab for my iPod in iTunes. I can uncheck each individual podcast that I don't want to be on my iPod, then resync and they are removed. So I guess the problem is only present on the Podcasts (possibly movies and tv shows too) tab of the iPod screen in iTunes.
Is there somewhere else I should go to submit a bug report?

Try to restore your iphone via iTunes or update to ios6.1.2.
If itunes gives an error with restoring (DFU/Recovery or just normal)
try this:
open your computer and search on windows; C://windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
open up the hosts file in note pad you will see IP adresses and more add another line and put in this:
#74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
this is a by-pass to the cydia/saurik restore server, it has nothing to do with jailbreaking over voiding apple's warranty

How do I get a contact's name/photo to appear when they call/text (rather than their number)?

I have one contact with whom I communicate regularly and their photo image appears whenever they call or text me. I don't know what I did to make that happen, and I cannot get it to happen for the other people in my Contact List. Can anyone tell me how I can get a name or photo to appear whenever someone from my Contact List either calls or texts me? I cannot recognize everyone in my CL by simply their phone number! TYSM!

The contact in which the photo does appear (along with the contact's name as well) is one that I added myself. I have photos added for many of the people in my Contact List, but neither their photo nor their name appears to me whenever they call or text me.
I know how to add a photo to a contact's information within my Contact List. I need to know how I can make that photo (or even the contact's name) appear whenever I have an incoming call/text from them. What I am seeing is just their phone number, and I do not know everyone's phone number well enough to recognize from whom I am getting a call/text. It would be much easy if their photo or name appeared instead.

Checkboxes are being checked by default when they shouldn't be

I have a form and there are eight checkboxes on it. In the server model I set the default to N. WHen i insert the records in the web form it still ticks them all (they cannot be entered by the user). To try and fix it, I set the Initial Value in forms builder to N, but its still checking them. I checked the properties in form builder, and checked is Y, and unchecked is N. What can I do to fix this - I am not allowed to regenerate from server model again, so I must fix the error either in sql plus or form builder.

Sometimes notes sustain when they shouldn't. How can I fix this?

When inputting notes either with my midi keyboard or directly with the pencil tool, sometimes the notes sustain even though the note is played or input as a short note. First it happened with the steel guitar exs internal synth sound input with pencil tool, now also it does it sometimes when using the midi keyboard as well. I use an M Audio keyboard, but as a dummy keyboard midied to the Mac, so all sounds are Logic Express sounds. This has only just started happening recently. I thought that it might be a memory problem, but there still appears to be plenty of RAM left.

Look in the headphone hole for lint or other debris. If there is
obstruction, clear it out.
Plug your headphones in and remove them repeatedly.

Contacts are not appearing when they are imported after wipe!!! HELP!

I have a Z1 running 4.4 and so far this is the most annoying bug ever!
This has happened after I tried to do a full wipe on SUS!
It seems that after I import my contacts from my sd card, everything is okay. However, I use an HD Contact app which often requires me to wipe my contacts list a few time just to refresh the photos.
When this wipe happens, my contacts do not anymore appear on my list even though the system says "Contacts added/imported"
My list remains blank except for the "Emergency Number" and "Myself" entries.
My god!
I have tried to run it on Safe Mode, hard restart, reboot, force stop the Contacts app yet nothing seems to work!
The only solution is a full wipe again and again.
This has never happened before the 4.4 update or when I tried to reinstall 4.4 via SUS.
Is anybody having the same dilemma? I could really use some help

Have you checked the filtering option in contacts? Open contact menu button > filter. Perhaps you have a filter hiding the contacts.

DSC alarms are blinking when they shouldn't

I have a bunch of shared variables on my front panel. Some of them have alarming enabled, with the option to blink when alarming. I programmatically disable all alarms at startup of the VI, but some of them blink when there is a value of zero for the variable. Anything above zero causes the blinking to stop. It even does it for a variable that I disabled the alarming for, using the shared variable properties. I can use the "Read Alarms" vi, and there is nothing being reported.

Couple of questions - what version of LV and DSC are you using? How are you having your shared variables set up to blink? It sounds like there is some other factor than the alarm that is triggering the blinking since Read Alarms doesn't have anything AND you have alarming turned off and they are still blinking. I would suggest either 1) deleting and re-adding your variables in case something became corrupt or there is some other underlying alarm that is causing the blinking or 2) get rid of the blinking feature, ensure the variables work correctly, and then add it back one at a time to check to see where the problem is. You could also post your code for myself or others to take a look at and possibly find the problem. Thanks!

Problem with subtitles automatically displaying when they shouldn't

I've got a DVD with multiple languages (English, Spanish, and French) and one subtitle stream (English) on the main program of a DVD I am authoring. I would like the DVD to default to the English audio stream and for the subtitles to be in the "off" state". The user can then select via a menu button if the subtitles are to be displayed or not.
The problem is, on certain (multiple) DVD players, the client is telling me that the subtitles are automatically displaying, regardless of whether or not they have chosen to show them. Of course, none of my test players exhibit this behavior, so it is difficult for me to troubleshoot what the problem might be.
I have tried setting it to default to a blank subtitle track and have also tried removing the English language designation on the subtitle track (which feel more like workarounds more than actual solutions), but the subtitles are still automatically displaying.
Any guess as to what is going on? Is this a problem on the client end, or is there scripting I will need to add to ensure consistent results from player to player?

I was able to solve the subtitle display problem with some simple scripting. For some reason certain DVD players (a fairly high percentage) are ignoring any Set System Stream commands from the DVD.

A horizontal Scroll Bar appears when it shouldn't - how do I get rid of it?

I am using a website (ribbon.me) which has a built in horizontal bar on its Explore TimeMap (basically a combination of a map and calendar into a single tool) that users can grab with the cursor / mouse to move the date forward or backwards in time. There is NOT supposed to be a "standard browser scroll bar" but one is appearing in Chrome. It only appears on my brand new computer...on my old Windows 7 computer, using latest Chrome, the scroll bar doesn't appear. (Even in Internet Explorer on the new computer, the scroll bar doesnt appear...but I dislike IE and LOVE Firefox) How the heck do I get rid of this scroll bar?

Photos trying to sync to ipod when they shouldn't

Ok, i have seen the opposite of this happen on the discussions, but when i plug in my ipod (i think it's a second gen 8 gig, i bought it used so i don't know how to tell) it syncs the apps and new music just fine, but then it proceeds to optimize my photos to load on the ipod, around 21500 of them or so (i have about 38k in iphoto, so it's not the whole library but it is close. I don't remember it doing this until this past weekend when i updated the software. there of course isn't enough room for all of them anyway, so i think it would fail, but it is obnoxious and time consuming. I only have 5 small albums checked to sync, plus the most recent upload, and no events at all are checked. has anyone seen this and how do i fix it?

Updates have been known to change settings, have you checked to make sure that your choice of albums to Sync is still set as you want it. If it is, then presumably all the extra photos are in one of the folders you are using to Sync with your iPod.

Expired Sessions when they shouldn't

Using WebLogic 9.2.2 on Unix
 We have an EAR deployed which then contains two WARs
 For various reasons we at one stage in WAR1 we need to open a new browser window and send the user into WAR2
 Opening the second window causes a new session to be created, which is what we expect.
 The problem is that this second session will always timeout at the time specified in the web.xml <session-timeout /> regardless of the fact the the session is in use. The first session just works fine. So if the timeout is five minutes and we are constantly using the session the it will be destroyed in the middle of us using it.
 Any ideas?

Window Machines autheticating to Mac OS X computers when they shouldn't

I have a semi large network that has a Linux machine with Samba, and uses that to authenticate domain logins & shares on the network.
However some Windows machines seems to want to authenticate to a Mac OS X computer instead of the Linux Samba machine. When the Windows machine trys to contact the Mac, it drops the packet and creates a error (on the windows machines) either on login or when accessing a share.
One suggestion that I have heard is that Mac OS X is set to a higher priory than the Linux samba computer. I have looked at some the files in the /etc directory but nothing about priory or anything like that.
I have solved the problem temporarily by turning off windows file sharing, and enabling stealth mode. But I want to know solve this problem so if someone who has a Mac OS X machine can work without worrying about accidentally turning Windows Sharing on.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

It /sounds/ like Samba is attempting to become a local or domain master browser. This can be prevented by adjusting the option "os level" under [global] to something very low, e.g.:
os level = 1
Typically Samba starts out with an OS level of 20, which should still cause it to lose all browser elections.
os level = may not be in /etc/smb.conf, but you can add it. Restart Samba and it should take effect.

Notes not triggering, notes sustaining when they shouldn't

I'm getting weird MIDI behaviour in Logic (8). It's hooked up via USB. Some notes hold, as if the sustain pedal is on, and other notes don't trigger at all. It's a different region or set of notes every time and I have checked the polarity of the sustain pedal and looked down to see if my foot is stuck to the thing, but no...
Anyone any ideas?

Could it be the "ghost notes" issue? That being duplicate notes "hiding" underneath the visible notes that sometimes screw up (cancel out) the note ons and/or note offs. A Select All command selects the ghost notes too, so it become difficult to find them.
Track down the notes that are troublesome and then, with the piano roll, select the troublesome notes with a single click, not by rubber banding them to select nor by selecting via clicking the kybd on the left side of the piano roll (both methods will select the ghost notes too), and them delete or transpose them to see if there are these ghost notes (duplicates) in those positions.
I've had this happen to me and so have a few others.
