Hi guys,recently i have dropped my ipad on accident and there is this dent at the side of my ipad and the side of the glass is shattered,my warranty is yet to be over and wonder if i could sent it for repair for free or get it replaced without any cost added as i heard from some of my friends that apple replace their devices for absolutely free.

I have a iPad 4 and the screen got cracked. It is less that 3 months old do I have warranty to have it replaced.

Apple's 1 yr warranty only covers defects in materials and workmanship. User damage/accidents are not covered. If you purchased Apple Care + when you bought the iPad, it will be covered with a deductable.

Cracked iPad 3 Screen

Hi,
I dropped my iPad 3 from 2 feet and a crack appeared the length of the screen. What remedies are available to me from Apple Support? Thank you!

Accidental damage isn't covered by the warranty. I don't know what country that you are in, but in the US the price for repair (i.e. replacement) for the iPad is (from here) $299, and here in the UK (from here) is £256.44

Replacing a cracked ipad 2 screen with the ipad 3 screen

I have an ipad 2 in for screen replacement. I have a couple ipad 3 screens on hand. Are there any differences in the two screen sizes, to where the ipad 3 screen will not fit the ipad 2? The screen specs look the same for both of them.

Thanks. Although the retina display most likely is in the LCD which is a seperate part. The outer glass is the digitizer, which merely gives you the touch function. I wouldn't think the digitizer has any effect on the retina display.
I'm curious if the glass (digitizer) is the same size on both the ipad 2 and ipad 3. Guess I can lay the ipad 3 screen on the ipad 2 and see if there is any difference in the size.

I want to make sure I know my options. We got the 16GB 3G ipad without reading that you have to have Mac OS 10.5.8. I currently have 10.4.11 and have never upgraded my system because of software compatibility issues with Adobe software.
I have Adobe CS3 now. I use InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat a lot.
Back in the day I was using Quark, so when I updated to CS3 all my documents were compatible in InDesign CS3. I don't have any problems with my current setup. I still need my quark documents that are now only compatible with inDesign.
My only option, for the ipad to work is to upgrade to Leopard and upgrade to Adobe CS5. That doesn't mean my quark docs will work in the new InDesign. Plus that's a lot of money to dish out to make the ipad work. What other options are there seeing I don't really want to upgrade to Leopard. The ipad won't work on anything less, bummer. Wondering if I should just take the ipad back, if they'll let me, got from an at&t store.
It looks like I'm wayyy behind on the system (10.6.5!). My mom and sister also have Tiger and will need to upgrade soon, they won't have any problems upgrading, they just haven't backed photos up and that's holding them back.
Bottom line. Would it be cheaper to buy another mac that already has snow leopard on it? Or to buy Snow Leopard and Adobe CS5? I wouldn't have to have any Adobe professional on the new mac, maybe just a photoshop elements or something.

Here a cheap solution:
Buy an external harddrive. Install Leopard / Snow Leopard on it. Boot off the external drive when you want to sync your iPad.
No software compatibility problems.
Unless things have changed, the $29 Snow Leopard licensing requirements indicate that you need to own Leopard on the machine.
I recommend you do a google search on any external harddrive you are looking at.
I bought a low cost external drive enclosure. When I started having trouble with it, I did a google search and found a lot of complaints about the drive enclosure. I ended up buying a new drive enclosure. On my second go around, I decided to buy a drive enclosure with a good history of working with Macs. The chip set seems to be the key ingredient. The Oxford line of chips seems to be good. I got the Oxford 911.

Does my cracked ipad 2 screen emit radiation?

I just noticed my iPad 2 has a big scratch/crack on the screem. I am now worried that it emits more radiation than normal. Does it?

No radiation more that with an uncracked screen. The iPad does have some low level radiation for wifi and cellular.
You might want to apply a screen protector to keep the glass in place, to preclude cutting your finger and getting dust inside the iPad.
