Advice on how to make Windows Media Player play DVD's not the Tosh player
I do not want to use the pre-installed Toshiba Media Player to play DVD's, I want to use the installed Windows Media Player. I cannot change the default DVD player to WMP in Control Panel as the only options are either Toshiba's or Nero's player.
WMP can play CD's, MP3's etc but cannot even read any DVD in the drive. Anyone got any advice on how to do change this?

The free KLite Codec pack which equips the OS including Media Player for DVD decoding, thus all your currently and even most future installed players. http://codecguide.com/
It comes in varying sizes but even the smallest version enables WMP for DVD's
After installing KLite, you right click the DVD drive within Windows and select the "Open With" or "Play Disc" menu option and select Windows Media Player.
You can also just use the Windows Run Box / Search box and enter
dvdplay
which activates windows Media Player DVD menus.
Microsoft hasn't always included DVD playback in Windows and then started offered it as a fee based upgrade for XP and Vista, before finally including DVD playback in Windows 7 in what some Microsoft insiders said was an apology for Vista before removing it again in Windows 8.

I have an problem with my windows 7.2 months ago I have installed and activated my windows 7
and it was genuine. But after a month it shows the message on startup like
This copy of windows is not genuine
But when I saw the prorerties of Computer it says that windows 7 is activated
but when I want to check for updates it shows the message as

and I can't install updates .

You need to place a shortcut to open Firefox in the Start > Programs > Startup folder.<br />

Hello guys! Do you know how to make a video smaller on imovie? Not by size or trim, i mean simply show the video as small as possible in the middle of the screen! Please text back.
Go to the Map, Background & Animatic Browser (last button in the centre tool bar alongside the Transition button). Drag the Black background (or any background) to your project. From an Event, drag the video selection directly onto the Black clip in the project. As you drop the video clip, a pop-up menu will appear. Select Picture in Picture.
Your video will appear as a small picture within the black clip. Click on it and reposition it to the centre of the viewer, using the yellow guide lines to get the exact centre position. Resize the Picture in Picture if desired by dragging the corner handles.
NOTE: You may need to extend the duration of the Black clip to match the duration of the video clip. Double-click on the Black clip to open the Inspector, then adjust the duration there.

DVD Player plays DVDs but will not play VIDEO_TS files from my hard drive
When logged into my home account DVD Player plays DVDs but will not play VIDEO_TS files that are on my hard drive. I get an error message: "there was a problem opening the media. Media type is not supported." When logged in as "root" DVD player does play these same files. Also, when logged in to my home account, I can play these same files in VLC.

But the gist of the fix is to delete or rename "~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.DVDPlayer.plist" and let the DVD Player build a new one. It seems that this is caused by a migrated PPC preference that borks DVD Player 5 on Intel Macs, which is what just happened to me. Hope this helps. -

With previous editions of iTunes for Windows, I could play a CD at the same time as it was being imported. That does not seem to work anymore. I just can't listen to an album for the 1/2 to 1 hour that it takes to import it into my library.
