Advice on Ordering uMBP 13" tomorrow

Many Thanks in advance for your help and thoughts...
I am going to order my new 13" MBP tomorrow. I want/need a 500g HD in the machine, however I really want a 7200rpm. (Obviously not an option on the 13" machine)
Has anyone had reliable success with a 7200 500g Drive pre/post firmware upgrade that they would recommend. I'm fine with a self install but have seen all the horror stories and am debating if I just want to order it with the stock 500g 5400 drive and after these firmware issues have been solved, THEN upgrade it, or if there is a reliable 7200, I'll order with the stock 250g and swap it out on my own right away.
I know lots of you have some great experience with both the new 13" and with drive swaps, so let me know thoughts as I'm really anxious to get this guy ordered and shipped ASAP

Get the Seagate 500GB model without the G-Force (make sure there is no "G" at the end of the model number) and install it yourself. I put one in mine and have no issues.

I dont mean to rude. but I have seen the same response to others over the past month. I have been keeping up w/ check status from the link provided in my order confirmation. At this point your depts management should be demanding more detailed info on order status. They have you customer service folks answering these question blindly, wasting your time and mine and ultimately costing verizon money which they will pass along to me and the other millions of customers out there. If you cannot give me a more detailed answer please escalate this to someone who can. Thank you.

Pre-Order And Attempting Tomorrow

Just a heads up for anyone who is trying tomorrow in store because of the delayed pre-order. Just reading the blogs that since Verizon has our lines tied to the order, we wouldn't be able to activate at the store until the pre-order has been canceled and cleared. So it was saying expect delays in activations and with it being the first available day you might have issues getting a hold of Verizon to cancel in a timely matter with masses of people calling in to activate or issues the are having. Good luck to all, I am reading about the slim pickins and Apple stores will have the best inventory.

I received mine today. From placing the order last Sunday, it shipped from China on Wednesday, and arrived at my doorstep this morning, Friday. Unbelievable. I didn't not even upgrade my shipping. I am so impressed with FedEx but there is no sense to pay them extra for priorty shipping since regular mode is so fast as it is.

In table VBAK, you can take the fields Sales Organisation, po # & Date.
What do you mean by Despatch Advice # ?? If you are referring to delivery which we generate in VL01N, you can make use of table LIKP for header level and LIPS for item level.

Regarding Purchase order MEDRUCK

Hi gurus,
What actual my doubt is when i saved purchase order that time i need to fetch . For example on 10/01/2008 at 1.00 pm they created purchase order.may be tomorrow they will send that purchase order to vendor.so if they take print out on tomorrow, it needs to show todays ate time.But by default in satndard purcahes order MEDRUCK the date will be displayed,So the total problem with the time field only.When i consult my functional people they told there is no time field in tables so you have to fetch that on . Please guide for this query.

Hi,
You cannot enable the Copy From button on the purchase order window. This is because there is no originating document for a purchase order (which is the first document in the chain on the purchasing side).
Perhaps if you explain your reasons for needing this functionality someone can come up with a suitable workaround.

Samsung Galaxy S6 pre-order and demo unit?

The pre-orders go up tomorrow for AT&T (and T-Mobile) but none of the stores around me have ANY information. They've also not heard anything about the demo units they are supposed to have tomorrow. According to the Samsung website both of my local stores will be getting a demo unit but neither of them have any idea about it.
I don't care so much about the demo unit but I want to know what pre-order bonus Best Buy will be including? I've heard some talks about the wireless charger being included if you pre-order but T-Mobile is offering up on free year of Netflix if you pre-order through them. Could we get a clarification please?

Transfer requirement from SO to Purchase order

I had set up BOM for FG with RM. Such as I create sales contract to book RM, so that MRP will create requirement. And then I will create sales order, possible transfer this RM into new SO' FG (under same BOM). I know if the same level, the tranfer requirement is fine, however, i cannot make it down to other level. Pls advice

Order of steps to change IP segment address and it's resources - Windows 2008 R2

I have a 2 node cluster in windows 2008 R2 AD on an HP Proliant DL380 G6 server with an attached MSA2012sa DAS storage where the resources recite. Resources are mainly data, no apps.
I need to change the IP segment/address of the cluster & storage to a new DS3 circuit. I've tried to follow some of the discussion threads on this topic, but i'm confused.
Please advice the order I should do things:
1. in cluster manager, take resources offline, then change the cluster IP and the resources IP
    --is it possible to change ips when it's offline?
    --or should I shut down the cluster? is it possible to change when cluster is shut down?
    --where does the ip of cluster itself get changed? I rt clicked on the cluster object and there is no option to change it
       (in AD or in cluster manager).
2. in network properties of each physical node, change the public IP address
     --Should I change one at a time, reboot, then do the other?
     --Should changing node ip be done before changing cluster & resources ip?
     --anything needs to be done to the quorum disk?
Advice will be very much appreciated. I've read thru a bunch of threads on changing ip but I need to brake it down in order. Thank you.

Well, I gave it a try. Only this was on a 2012 R2 cluster, so I cannot vouch for 2008 R2. (But I have extreme faith in the cluster engineers that it most likely works the same there. Again, prove it in a lab.)
Here is what I did. I had a cluster with a single network and everything was configured on that network - let's call it old-NIC. I added another network by adding a new NIC to each node - let-s call it new-NIC. I configured that new-NIC
on a different subnet.
OLD CONFIGURATION: Cluster IP - 192.168.1.30; Cluster Access Point for clustered service 192.168.1.33; Node1 IP - 192.168.1.31; Node2 IP - 192.168.1.32
NEW, DESIRED CONFIGURATION: Cluster IP - 192.168.2.30; Cluster Access Point for clustered service 192.168.2.33; Node1 IP - 192.168.2.31; Node2 IP - 192.168.2.32
The old-NIC on node1 was configured with gateway and DNS registration. I removed the gateway and DNS registration from this NIC.
I configured new-NIC on node1 with gateway and DNS. I then issued an ipconfig /registerdns to get the new name for the node into DNS.
Repeat above steps for node2.
I went into Cluster Manager and configured both old-NIC and new-NIC to be available for both Cluster and Client access.
I selected the properties of the CAP for the service and changed the IP address to new-NIC cluster IP. When accepted, I executed another ipconfig /registerdns.
I then selected the cluster core resource IP and did the same thing - changed the IP to the new-NIC address. When accepted, I executed another ipconfig /registerdns.
Obviously during the change in the IP addresses on the cluster, services became unavailable while the services were stopped/started to reconfigure with the addresses. Once the change was made and the services back up and running, the services were
available via the new-NIC IP addresses.
There should be NO connections to the cluster during this change. After updating the IP addresses on the cluster, you might have to issue an ipconfig /flushdns from the clients so they are forced to re-query DNS to be able to find things under the
new IP addresses.
All tests were performed in lab VMs.

Book order won't let me select quantity

Good day all
Another new problem for me.
I click to buy my book, all my account info is correct, 1-click is enabled, hardcover book. I choose the cover color - works fine "but" then it won't let me choose the quantity. The quantity box won't let me type in a number nor will the arrows highlight and allow me to use them.
Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong.

My quantity dilemma is solved.
I tried ordering again early this morning (due to my frustration), and this is what occurred:
Still could not use the quantity button, but continued on throughout the process. When I completed all steps (1 through 3) I clicked the "continue" button and, lo and behold, the step 1 page appeared with the quantity button highlighted. Chose 1 for quantity and then Total cost appeared. Yippeeee!
My book is now ordered.
I took your advice and ordered only 1 copy. If the results are good, I will order remaining 5 copies.
I emailed the help site yesterday about my quantity problem and am curious to see what their solution will be.

Availability Check during Production Order (controlling side) change

we run our COMAC run over all production order, but due the fact some controlling user is performing at the same time some settlement activity the job scheduled goes in DUMP and block all the chain of ATP scheduled for all Work Center, instead of provide an easy message log that advice the order processed bt the user has not taken into account?
there is something that is wrongly set up?

Dear,
It depends on when your background job started..if the background job is started before CO settlement, then system will give error in settlement. If the ATP checking background job has started after CO people started settlement, then you will have this problem.
Hence to resolve the problem two possible solutions.
1. You send a message through basis that Production order job will be starting from this time to this time and hence dodnot run settlement...hence system will give the message to all users.
2. Schedule the activity in the night when no one uses the system.
Pl come back if required.

Boot last rev MBP off clone of 2007 iMac.

Hi all, I've got a bit of a problem, and I'd be grateful for any advice / assistance. I've got a refurb mid 2010 15 inch MBP on order, should arrive tomorrow I hope. But I've got to head for HQ the next day. Normally I work on my 24-inch iMac, it's about 2007 (I think: also refurb) - 2.4 Ghz C2D. "Had I but world enough and time" as the poet said, I'd get all the stuff that I need for my work installed on the MBP, and take that to HQ. But I won't have time to do all that on top of my normal days' work Monday and Tuesday. Assuming I can get an external drive today, to get me through the HQ visit I'm thinking of using CCC to clone the iMac's internal HD to that external, then booting the MBP off that. The iMac is on SL (10.6.5) and I'm assuming the MBP when it gets here will be on that or more - not that that should matter. Should work, no? And am I right in thinking it's shut down - hold option key + power on to get a choice of boot location please? And afaik you can boot off a usb-connected drive, it doesn't have to be Firewire? Also, I'm not sure whether or not the FW connection on the iMac works.Would it matter if I wrote the clone from the iMac using USB, then connected it to the MBP using FW? Or use USB for both? Sorry about the level of all the questions, I know there are guys / gals out there who boot off thumb drives, sandwich toasters and all sorts, but I never do this stuff and now I've got to do it in a rush. Thanks in advance, save an old man having to lug a 24-inch iMac all around HQ offices! TIA - Terry.

[SUCCESS] Can I upgrade my harddrive in my HP laptop?

I am considering upgrading the harddrive in my laptop. Right now I have a 160GB drive, and I feel a little closed in with so little space.
The laptop needs to run both win and linux, so I dual boot. that doesn't really make the situation any better, as vista craves drive space like nothing else I've seen before.
Now at the moment I have this drive: WD Scorpio Blue - WD1600BEVS (http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=264)
I would like to replace it with this one: WD Scorpio Blue - WD5000BEVT (http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products … anguage=en)
Anyone have any experience with doing this kind of upgrade? Is there anything I should be aware of before I start?
My laptop is a HP dv6600 (dv6645eo). According to the service manual found on HPs website, the biggest harddrive for this model is 250GB.

The drive currently in the laptop is mounted with some kind of special adapter, and I was a little worried that a new drive would not fit. But from the pictures on WDs website it looks like the sata connector and power connecter are identical on both drives. What I mean is the gap between the two connectors is the same.
Is it part of the SATA specifications that the connectors are placed the same way on all drives? I tried looking at the specifications, but couldn't find anything about it.
I will order the drive tomorrow, then I'll see what happens.
