Advice on Ownership & Permisions loss error?

Hello, I've been having a MAJOR problem lately over a sudden loss in my Ownership & Permissions, which has prohibited me from ripping any music with iTunes due to "Access Privileges" (and I also asked this question there--http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=392888&tstart=0--, so you needn't remind me of that forum). Apparently this problem occured suddenly after using the filesharing Limewire v4.10 (which I recommend you to AVOID using at all costs), which has been known to cause errors in the startup drive.
Anyway, as they suggested in the iTunes forum, I went to the Music folder (under Users) and changed all my Ownership & Permissions (including in the Details) to Read & Write... however, even after restarting the computer, I still can't import anything.
So now, I was going to try to Repair Disk Permissions using Disk Utility (under Applications/Utilities), but since this function is generally used for Mounting and Erasing drives, I'm VERY paranoid about doing so unless absolutely necessary. Obviously, I don't want to remount or erase my startup drive by accident!!! (especially because I currently don't have enough room or a DVD burner to back it up).
So I just wanted to make sure: is it fairly safe to simply Repair Disk Permissions, and I couldn't accidentally Mount or Erase my drive in the process? And based on the Access Privileges/Owners & Permissions errors I've been getting, does anyone who's experienced the same problems (with or without Limewire's meddling) have any further troubleshooting or repair suggestions??
Believe me, I would REALLY appreciate it...

HFM - Ownership Data Load error

Hi All,
I am running in to errors when trying to load ownership data for the year 2014 using load tasks under Tasks Folder. I made sure the file has the right format of data with all the dimensions included and I checked the File contains the ownership data tab. I tried loading using both merge and replace options but looks like it does not work.
The data gets scanned with no errors but when I try to load it, it shows 25% processed and status as completed which is weird and when I try to extract it, it gives zero records..
I was able to successfully extract and load ownership data for the current and previous years with out issues..
Are there any flags that I need to make sure to open in order to load the ownership data for future years? I tried opending the periods and the year for which I am loading the data but it does not work.

Yes, I tried extracting some ownership data for the years 2013 and 2012 and I was successful in loading the data back.
I extracted the 2013 ownership data updated the year to 2014 and month to Jan and try to load it back then I am getting these errors.. same with for year 2015 and future years..
The format of the load file looks correct as I was able to load for previous years with the updated ownership data with no errors..
I killed the HFM process on the app server and tried to load it back but still could not succeed.
Any suggestions.. please help...

Packet data loss/error N70

Hi..I had this error for nearly 2 years then stumbled on a cure ( well SO far it seems to work ).
Under SETTINGS, go to CONNECTION,PACKET DATA...Under "Packet Data Conn." change the setting from WHEN NEEDED to WHEN AVAILABLE...

Exchange Rate Gain Loss Error

Dear Experts,
I am stuck in a very serious problem
In import purchase Order for raw material we have configured a condition for import duty.
Now in current scenario the import duty has been invoiced before goods receipt there is a minor difference in amount invoiced and amount entered in purchase order.When the receipt is posted for this purchase order an abnormally high amount is posted into exchange rate difference account which is charged to material.
This makes the moving price of material very high.
The currency for purchase order is Dollars. We have maintained a conversion in FI table and purchase order as well.
Please suggest as to what is causing this abnormally high amount to be posted in exchange rate difference account.

It is a condition defined in Purchasing all the as Import Duty and calculation type is Fixed Amount.
This condition is used in import purchase order (PO currency USD). The invoice for this condition is posted in local currency which is PKR.
When Goods Receipt (105) is posted for this purchase order system doesnot convert the amount invoiced into equivalent PKR according to exchage rate specified in OB08. All amount in PKR is taken into USD with exchange rate equivalent to 1 and gain loss from this conversion is charged to material. e.g 314079 PKR is posted as 314079 USD and Gain/Loss which amounts to 27 million is charged to material. This makes MAP of material equivalent to 20000 PKR rather than 4000 PKR.

Need Advice on External Hard Drive Error

I just purchased the OWC 750g External Firewire HD for my Imac G4, plugged it in and it appeared in my Finder. The User Guide says that I need to use Disc Utility to repartition the drive, which I did, in 3 partitions - two to be bootable drives for my iBook and iMac (160g each) and the 3rd to hold data from both computers (the remaining 378g). However, after completing this and hitting "partition" I got the 'Partition failed - Could not unmount disk' message. Any clue ... I'm not extensively techno savvy but I do my best!

Sorry - I'm new at posting, so this appeared a few times in the wrong place

Probably something as simple as a restart of the iMac would be enough to remind the iMac that it's okay to unmount the drive.
Remember to use "Mac OS Extended ... (Journalled)" as the format for normal Mac use and as you have PowerPC Macs you should use "Apple Partition Map". Bear in mind you'd need to reformat for booting an Intel Mac.

Need advice on sudden wireless loss with Buffalo AirStation WHR-G54S

Our two MacBooks suddenly can't pick up a signal from our Buffalo wireless router, though the router's Ethernet WAN port works fine. When I unplug the power for 3 seconds for a diagnostic, I get a red light that the manual says indicates a RAM problem.
Where should I go from here? Power down the router for a minute or so, then reboot it? Reconfigure my network over again? Buffalo's support site offers little guidance.

So I slept on it and in the morning the router was working normally, network available to both MacBooks as if nothing had happened. Go figure.

Unable to do F-30 (Post with Clearing) with Payment Advices. Error "F5A144"

While I am trying to do F-30 using Payment Advices, it is giving an error message "F5A144 - The residual items amount execeed the original invoice amount and a cash discount amount is active n the item".
NOTE: For the invoices that it is trying to clear, has Cash Discount applicable and the RESIDUAL AMOUNT IS NOT > INVOICE AMOUNT. We are able to post in Development & Quality but not in PRODUCTION.

Hi,
You check your delivery document and see if the picking has been done. This error comes when picking has not happened. So Go to "VL02N" and click on picking tab and enter the delivery quantity as the picking qunatity and save the delivery. If you have WM activated, use "LT03" to create a Transfer order and "LT12" for picking.

As you can see, I’m just using the BSP that came from Xilinx. When I run ‘petalinux-build’, I get the ‘ownership / Invalid argument’ errors.
I have changed all my Xilinx and petalinux directories to be owned by me and changed all the files to be readable/writable/executable by all (chmod 777)
I have also attached the verbose output from petalinux-build.
Please advise.

I have worked with 2014.4 bsp and i don't see this issue.
Can you try creating a project in /scratch location and see if the same scenario is seen?
What linux distribution are you using?

IPod Touch 4th Generation; every time I try to back up and update, I get error -43. Help?

My iPod Touch is a 4th generation running on iOS 4.3.3, and I want to update to the more recent iOS 6.1.2; however, when I connect to iTunes to back up/update, about 3/4 of the way through the backing up, I get error message -43, telling me that continuing will result in the loss of all the contents on my device. I don't know how to fix this, and it happens every time I try to update. Solutions/advice is greatly appreciated.

They want you to purchase software you don't need, especially in this case, the software is for Windows only.
Just ignore it.
BTW, from the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari then click Block Pop Up Windows. That might help avoid that.
