Advise on making a master cd

Hi,
So i am at the point where i want to start working towards making a master cd for a distributer, and i was wondering how some of you pros out there are going about this?
If i want to keep my original GB files uncompressed and then burn them to a cd(burning at Audio CD quality), they are not all going to fit on one cd. Most of my GB files are somewhere around 60 to 90 MB, and a CD-R is 700 MB, so i won't be able to fit more than 7 or 8 songs on there. Is this correct?
Would it be better to Burn my songs as Raw Data on several disc's, and then take it to a mastering house, and then will they be able to fit them all on a single master cd?
Any suggestions?

You're confusing a DATA CD with an Audio CD.
A CD will hold 74-80 minutes of audio (depending on the CD). If the length of your music (in time) is less than the maximum size the CD can hold, they will fit.
You can use iTunes to burn an audio CD, however if you want to create a professional "Redbook" compliant (standard) audio CD I'd recommend you get Toast with Jam

Capture Now - Making New Master Clips ???

Now i really have a strange thing going on... I am using Capture Now to start an edit session with HDV Footage and it is making NEW Master Clips when there is a stopdown/startup recording on the tape... (a change in setup for a shot)...
I have gone in the User Settings and unclicked all of the stuff dealing with dropframe or timecode breaks with no luck...
Any Help ???

It will make life harder to keep the bin's organized... because i am going to have to view each clip separately -vs- scanning one clip that has all of my b-roll or my uppers / interviews to find the story...
yea i did restart the whole computer and had to reset the capture preferences and such...
I do know about the grief that is associated with timecode breaks in the middle of a shot... dealt with stuff like that in school 7 years ago...

Nightmare making DLT Master

I'm trying to master a DVD9 project to DLT, and I've used eDVD for web links. I built the project to a folder, did the eDVD work. I can load the Video_TS folder and the eDVD files into a DVD burning program and make disks that play, navigate and look great. But if I tell Encore I want to make a DLT Master from a Volume, as soon as the DLT starts to burn I get an error message saying "the number of DVD sectors is invalid."
With tech support I've burned the project to DLT no problem and I've burned the project to disk no problem. I've built a dummy DL project, built it to a folder, added the eDVD ROM content and it burns to DLT. I've modified my existing project by removing a 20 minute video in case it was a size issue, built it to a folder, and it generates the same error message.
2 questions:
Since building the project to disk with the eDVD content as ROM content works, and since the DLT will accept that method, is there any reason not to create the master that way?
And second, any ideas what the problem might be?
All tech support could advise was to start taking assets out of the project until I find the problem. But that would mean building it to a folder each time and then attempting to build which would take days.
I'm exhausted, depressed and very late now--2 days late to the replicator. So any help would be appreciated.

Trouble with the method above is that you won't be using the modified Video_TS folder that eDVD will have made.
So this could be why Encore is pitcghing a hissy fit at you.
2 options.
1 - Create a disc, not a DLT pair and ask the replication plant if they will accept this (not recommended).
2 - Use a 3rd party application to create the DLT Tape.
I am surprised at hearing this news - I don't own eDVD yet so do not really know how it works, but if you are inking into ROM content from the Video_TS structure with menu pointers that will work when played on PC, then it has to be modifying the IFO files in some way.
What happens if you try creating an ISO image or a new folder using PGCEdit? http://download.videohelp.com/r0lZ/pgcedit/index.html
That would allow you to burn the modded disc.
Another option - but you will have to watch the layer break carefully - is always GEAR Pro Mastering Edition. I'd not be without it myself, but it is an additional expenditure...
I wish I had a way to look at this & check, as I cannot think of a single good reason why opening an existing folder plus it's ROM content with Encore should not work.
Encore doesn't need to be able to create anything except a DLT pair from the folder you tell it to use.

Making a master out of a slide

I have created a slide and now would like to have it available as a master slide. Is there a way to do this. It was tedious to do to set up all the builds and action and if I can avoid repeating the work, I would love to.

I have an unix box with Solaris 8. I want to make a

Making a master sheet automically populate

Is there a way to combine all the data from several (three) sheets into one master sheet? I feel like there has to be a way to do this but I can't make it work.

you can reference cells in other tables on the same sheet or tables in other sheets. You cannot reference cells in tables of a sheet in another document.
To get the value of a cell (or range of cells) in a cell, select the cell where you want the value to be and type the "=", then selec the cell you want to get the value from. If the cell is in another table scroll to that table and click the cell. If the cell is in another sheet, switch to that shet, and click the cell. Then type the enter key.

Making one master a version of a second master

Hello all,
I've been going through my 19,000 imported photos from iPhoto and removing all the zillions of "iPhoto Editted" ones which were simply rotations of the original image (from before I got a camera which auto-rotates and does RAW). However, some of these are true edits.
I would like to take two master images and turn one into a version of the other. Does anyone know of a way to do this? I'd rather it be a real version than just two images stacked together. I didn't find anything on this board about that (but it also returned >10 pages of results and I only looked through about 4).

Tips for making master pages??

I am making a master page that will contain jpeg images, and I am having trouble getting them to "snap to" the guides". Before, in CS3, I remember when I moved an image close to a guide, it would automatically "snap to" it, but for some reason that doesn't seem to always happen here. I am not using the baseline or other grids at all, I have made guides. The guides are two perpendicular lines, and try to snap them to the right angle formed by the lines.
Hope that explanation wasn't confusing. I just want to find a good way to set up my master page and to establish guides. It is possible to use the "snap to" with guides alone and not the grids, right? To get rid of the grids I set the spacing for the lines for very large distances so they wouldn't appear at all.

Thanks for the replies. The "snap to" option is on, as well as the "guides in back" option. What will happen is, I drag an image within range of the guide (I'm not using a grid) and it will be very close, but I often have to adjust it slightly, for example (I have it set for inches as the unit of measurement) I want one image to be at the guideline, which is .7817 but too I dragged (drug?) near to the guide ended u at .7823. Once I get this close to the guide, shouldn't the snap to" take over? BTW, my "snap to" zone is 12px.
I see that both "align to object edge" and "align to object center" are checked... should I uncheck "align to object center"?

Need advise on SQL,plsql developer career and future

Hi all,
I need all your advise in making an important decisions of my career path.I work in the IT field and have about total 4-5 years of work experience involving development and testing in a product based organization.
Presently-i have got chance since last 4-5 months to work with writing PLSQL code,SQL etc on a part basis. I am very much interested to continue my career path as a PLSQL developer.
But, unfortunately -in the total of my work experience-in the past 2-3 years-i worked with a internally developed DB query language(similar to SQL) and then from last few months with plsql. But this chance to work with PLSQL has been for less time and limited scope after which i will have to work on something different.
Ii want to fully take on my career in SQL,PLSQL as Database Developer.
Please advise me if my thinking seems logical and good and if I could do it. I have planned on applying for relevant SQL,PLSQL profile jobs.
Now, My serious worry and concern is I feel that since i have worked very less with PLSQL-so am low in confidence that I feel i wont be able to answer ,or tell or not knowledgeable enough to be able to clear the technical interviews for SQL,plsql development profile which would need at least some years of experience.
I have started studying and practsing PLSQL,sql by myself for from internet. So, can you all please advise me on how could i prepare myself for hard core technical interviews of SQL,PLSQL knowledge for about 2-3 years expertise.
I know its not much possible to be competent so much in the subject by just studying and practicing.Its easy as saying to study and get it by myself-but i want to try and will put my best for it.

I want to make recon a/c as a required/mandatory field for all of account groups while making vendor master.
plz send me the process of config settings to make this field as required/mandatory through field control.

Acct assignment in customer Master

Dear All ,
We have Abc customer for which we have normal acct assignment grp : 01 for normal revenues. in customer master.
but some times, we have to make invoice for labour revenues as well for the same customer .
Then how to handle these two acct assignment grp for same Customer .
Or we suppose to create two customer master for the same?

This means for the same customer according to invoice GL account has to be different
No need to change the records of the master and it is not advisable to change the master also
Account assignment group is a modifiable field in billing doc creation for both customer and material
So during the invoice creation itself you can change the Account assignment group which has come from CMR and take an another one and make it flew to another GL account by maintaining the relevant VKOA settings
Solution is readily available in standard itself

User master comparision

Hi Experts,
Could you please advise on CUA User master comparision.
CUA with 9 child systems.
If the user master records showing yellow on particular roles assigned to users. Composite roles in CUA not showing yellow in users tab but when you going to child system for that particular role it is showing yellow.
Do we need to do user comparision manually in child systems?

Better option will be scheduling a background job 'PFCG_TIME_DEPENDENCY".
Another option would be, Go to PFCG -->Utilities -->Settings -->Check the box 'Automatic User Master Adjustment When saving the role'. It will adjust the role each and every time you click the save button.
Another small tip,
If you are trying to add a role to a user in a CUA system which has been transported shortly form DEV system(or any) and if it is throwing you a error "Role does not exist in the system" even if the role is available in the respected child system, Just go to the PFCG of child system, enter the role name and go to 'Environment' and selsct option 'Text comparison for CUA central system'. Now u'll be able to asssign the role.

Each can be created with various options.
From legacy to SAP it is advised to upload mass master data.
The transaction data can be uploaded seperately after the master data is created.

It is advised to load the master data before the transactional data as the SIDs for the char will be generated and ready to use at the time of transactional data loading. If you have your Infopackage with the check on for loading if only master data exists, then the load will fail if there is no master data. Usually we do not set this check and like to load irrespsective of if master data is present or not.
