Adworkers are hanging

Dear
We are using 12.1.3 Application(Windows 2003 32-bit) with 11.2.0.2 Database(Windows 2003 64 bit)
When we are applying the patch 11823507 , log of adworker shows as Completed but in the ADPatch session it moving to next job, it hangs there

Do you see any errors in the database?
Please post the last few lines of patch log file.
And also see how many invalid objects you have. If you invalid objects with the name XLA*, then they take more time as per
R12 patch seems to hang in adobjcmp.sql or appostimportaad.sql or fapostimportaad.sql [ID 748501.1]

Yes, the hard drive needs to be formatted and OS X must then be installed.
Drive Partition and Format
1. Boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
7. Quit Disk Utility and return to the installer. Proceed with the OS X installation.
It's only a lost cause when nothing else works.

Iphone 4 (4.2.1) panic error we are hanging here

Good Day
I am having an Iphone4 (16gb) factory unlocked phone bought from an apple store in canada and currently I am using it in Dubai; the apple id is configured with geographic location India ; it was working perfectly till my last OS upgrade to 4.2.1; after that it started giving reboot problems (showing apple logo); sometimes during a call its showing apple logo, then i need to press both home and sleep button together to start it; since last week it shows another error we are hanging here a panic message; (the screen becomes a dos based without any graphics); then again after pressing both sleep button and home button it comes back to normal screen; I was planning to go for factory reset; will it restore the previous os shipped with the phone? Today I heard 4.3 is released? if these problems are due to a bug with 4.2.1; will it be sorted out in 4.3?

Update;
My phone suddenly switched off itself and i can not turn it back on not even on recovery mode.
I guess at this point it is safe to say this phone is dead and i should return it to my service provider..

Error when booting off install disk: "panic: We are hanging here . . ."

My iBook's working fine except it's very slow (3 years old), so I decided to reinstall the OS.
When I try loading off my original OS X installation disk, it boots to an error "panic: We are hanging here . . ."
If I stick the install CD into the iBook while it's on, it reads the CD fine and even offers to reboot off the CD for me. But when I reboot, I get the same panic error.
When I take the CD out, the iBook loads fine again.
So my computer still works, but I can't figure out a way to reinstall. Any ideas?
fyi- I tried Disk Utility on my HD and it passed verification.

Call Apple Support. They may be able to send you a replacement disc at nominal cost (much less than new). I think you'll need your computer's serial number so they can get the correct one.
How does the computer handle other CDs? There's the slight possibility it is the drive and not the CD.
The other thing to do is to try and troubleshoot why your computer is slowing down and at least not to have to immediately worry about getting a new CD. Here's a bunch of reading. However, I wouldn't blindly go running a bunch of utilities but to address things one by one. For example, one major slow down is an over-full hard drive and no utility will help with that.

BPEL Processes are Hanging.......

Hi,
I am using BPEL 10.1.2.0.2 version. The logic am implementing in BPEL process is a frontend application will invoke BPEL process.BPEL will take some inputs from frontend and invokes a procedure in database using DbAdapter.BPEL will pull the output of the procedure and will pass the same to Frontend.
The logic being implemented in procedures is select and update depends on the requirement.
We completed our development and moved to UAT and everything is running fine.From past one week we are facing a problem that BPEL processes are hanging when they are invoked both from BPEL console and Frontend. The process neither displaying any output nor throwing any exception.
After bouncing the BPEL servers everything is coming to normal.I didn't found any error log in both domain.log and OraBPEL~OC4j_BPEL~default_island.log files.
Our BPEL Environment has 2 BPEL Mid Tiers connected via a loadbalancer
whether it could be related to cache size or datasource connections ????
Please suggest what could be the problem...........

Check the timeouts on the firewalls. Also look at Dead Connection Detection (DCD) on the database server. You will need to turn on your DCD to keep your JDBC connections alive.

I installed this update last night, it said powerbook 15" security update. So i installed it as usual and then, worked for a bit after it was done. Then hit the shutdown button.
This morning i go to turn i on, and, It freezes, up. and Displays the following.

It is a 15" powerbook g4. I tried taking out, / changing the ram, Booting holding S, holding shift. I cant get ti even turn on. Any help would be awesome..

Grey screen on startup - verbose mode:"We are hanging here..."! Please help

I'm cross-posting from the iBook forum, because I found some helpful posts over here after posting my problem there. I hope someone can help with these NEWS:
Here´s the short version:
Two days ago freeze during dragging a pdf to a USB storage. I shut down all other apps, then also finder, iBook becme unresponsive, so I shut it down with the power button. Since then, I permanently get the grey screen with four language "You need to restart your computer..." on normal startup, no problems starting in safe mode, but then some other strange things happen (e.g. no volume adjustable, no speakers and no mic in sound prefs).
AHT from original disc: no problems found
Tried Command S during startup with fsck -fy, same problem on reboot.
Tried Verbose mode, below is the very interesting last lines:

Am I having a kernel panic? If yes, why does the console panic log not state any panic since more than a year? What's my next step?

As for now, only thing that helped was an archive and install with preserve user settings. Seems after the reinstall of 10.4. everything that was weird has become normal again. I hope very much this state stays on for a while - or ever!
A comment to everybody: with problems that are common you get a lot of help from friendly users in here, but if like in my situation things get a bit more uncommon than the usual querks and troubles your bound to go through a whole workflow of tests and algorithms - i did learn some new things but eventually I had to go for the ultimate - the reinstall (of course, erase and install would have been more work.) and it's frustrating not to find out how it came to this problem. I wish I could nail it down to something I did mistakenly - i guess I'll find out next time.

Audio related applications are hanging

All my applications that uses a sound device are hanging, Itunes, browsers, skype, etc. including the System Preferences Sound Pane.
Looking at the Console, all the hanging applications have the following error:

All the hanged applications apparently are trying to get the default device or the UID of the default device. As the problem is in the audio, I believe is the audio device.
When I select an Input or Output audio device, this selection almost always is changed in the next time I open the System Preference Sound Pane.
I have a M-Audio Fast Track Pro audio interface but this problem occurs with all audio devices, not only with the M-Audio.
Does anybody knows what is causing this error?

With many open tabs (80+) Firefox regularly (every 10sec) hangs for a few seconds because of session storing where the CPU is at 100%. Btw that is the reason why videos in Firefox are hanging every 10sec, too. Why is this operation so demanding?

When I'm using Firefox for a long time and I'm working with several open windows and many open tabs (80+), Firefox hangs/freezes every 10sec for 1-3sec. This is very annoying. The reason for this seems to be the session store operation, which gets executed every 10sec. In my experience (or rather on my computer) this isn't noticeable when I'm just working with around 40 open tabs.
This also seems to be the reason for hanging videos in firefox (although youtube is quite robust; others are not) because they stop every 10sec, too. For this time (the 1-3sec) the taskmanager tells me that firefox is using all the available cpu power. I'm really wondering why the session store operation has such an influence on Firefox' behaviour.
My computer is a Core 2 Duo E6600 with 3GB RAM and a decent hdd.

Just some additional info:
I just had the problem again, and it even occurred when I did not have any tab open! I did not even use Firefox, but just wanted to start to use it, but it did not respond. There was _nothing_ open, and when I checked the TaskManager, the memory consumption was up to 300 MB, and the CPU was again at 100%. After the CPU was down to 0% again, the memory slowly decreased as well. First, to ~260, then to ~200, now to ~170 MB. Maybe it will decrease even further...

TREX Monitor / Index Monitor are hanging

Hi Experts ,
We are running on EP 2004s SP 12 and TREX 7.0 rev 34.
Our issue is TREX Monitor (System Admin -> Monitoring -> KM -> TREX Monitor) is hanging and not able to display anything.
Same thing is happening with Index Monitor also .
We have checked both TREX and EP are running fine , I can see other iViews in monitor view eg. - Crawler Monitor .
Can anybody help ..

Hi Amit,
I have had this issue before as well but unfortunately wasn't able to find out what exactly the problem is. I believe it is some type of communication problem between TREX and your portal. Try restarting both TREX and the portal and see if it helps.

Jobs are hanging in running status

Hey ,
I have some overnight jobs that refresh materialized views over a dblink from a remote db. I came this morning and noticed that some of the jobs where hanging in RUNNING state with "more data from dblink" event but there was no corresponding sessions in the remote db. It seems like the refresh process was already done (by the size of the mviews). Tracing the session is useless (i've tried) since no actual job is being done. The alert log gave no clue.
any ideas on what the problem is or what to do in order to find it?
could it be a locking issue ?

Hi,
I think you may need to use normal database hang diagnostic methods to try to figure out what is going on.
The first thing to do is look in the dba_scheduler_running_jobs view, there should be sessions associates with the running view (you can also check that there are real j0 slave processes running the jobs). Once you have checked that there is a real session that is still running the job maybe you could check the v$session view and any other v$ views that should be able to tell you what SQL statement the job is hanging on. You may also be able to check locks held by those sessions.
You may also be able to use Oracle's ADDM reporting tools to get some diagnostic info.
Another possible thing to try is running the job action by hand manually in pl/sql and seeing whether that hangs and possibly figure out where.
Where do you see the "more data from dblink" message ?

Outward emails on iPhone are hanging. Why?

My outward mail on my Iphone is hanging. yes, I get the "send" sound but the bar at the bottom of the screen shows the mail is not going. It is happening to all accounts on the iphone. Mail not going into "out box" either.
Obviously, I have checked the settings.
Any thoughts?

Apple's support is not rated very high by consumer reports and by every other agency that performs such customer service surveys by accident. Your iPhone is covered under warranty for one year including calling AppleCare at no additional charge the same as when visiting an Apple Store.
I've experienced no such issue accessing my .Mac account which is my primary email account and a business POP account with my iPhone since 6/29.
Are these problem messages newly composed messages or forwarded messages?
Do these problem messages contain an attachment or attachments?

Uploads in iTunes U are hanging on Mac clients

We're having a problem where we are unable to upload content into iTunes U.
What happens is the upload will start and then hangs and fails. It could be 3 MB into the transfer or it could be 50 or 250 MB into the transfer. On a Windows PC, it completes with no problem. We've tried using Safari and Firefox on the Mac. Safari on Windows works fine. Our test file is a 260 MB .mov file but it's happening across a wide range of files.
We've done some packet capturing with Wireshark on the Mac and can see where the upload fails. It appears to be after receiving some malformed content errors from the Apple servers, though communication does continue for a while thereafter, but no progress in the upload.
We use a security device on our network that inspects traffic and blocks certain things. When we set that device to bypass mode, which allows all traffic unfiltered, the Mac uploads work fine. Obviously, we can't run it in bypass mode as that defeats its purpose.
We're struggling to understand why Windows uploads work fine but the Mac uploads do not. This is becoming a big problem for us.
I've seen the other threads about uploads hanging. Anyone getting resolutions?
