How do you make an AE Color Control in Pixel bender?

Is this what you're after?

Had you been using wired networking before you began to set up wireless? Had you given yourself Administration status with command-u, or were you using default TCP/IP and AppleTalk windows? Had you used command-k from the TCP/IP window to name a location (configuration)? Failing that your automatically assigned configuration would have been Default. It is worth your while from the standpoint of security to use these facilities, and, if necessary to set up a different configuration for wi-fi, lest there be any conflict in TCP/IP Preferences between an older wired or dial-up configuration and the wireless. If you wish to overwrite the old configuration by editing it, that is possible. You can choose, if you wish, to maintain several different configurations and connection modes with different names. As an administrator, you are able to change between them at will in much the same way as OS X provides, although the windows and access methods look different.

  • Color Controls for Calibration?

Is there any way to access color controls so that I may calibrate my 23" CD with a Colorvision Spyder and PhotoCal software? The Apple calibration routine is pretty vague, and I need the CD to match a calibrated CRT sitting next to it. Thanks.

"...if some software can adjust the colors, why can't I?"
You can if you want to run the Apple color calibration tool (Sys Prefs / Displays / Color / Calibrate). But if you want to use the Spyder, you have to use the Spyder software which is designed to work with the device.

  • Identifying Color Controls when calibrating

I am trying to calibrate my monitor with a Spyder3 Elite colorimeter and partway into the setup process I am being prompted to identify my displays Color Controls, in particular if I have Kelvin Presets, Kelvin Slider and/or RGB sliders.
After many searches, and even a chat with Apple tech help, I am still unable to find if any of these settings on my system exist. I'm not convinced that just because I can't find them, doesn't mean I don't actually have them. I have a mac pro desktop version 10.5.8 with 20"cinema display.
    Any help is much appreciated

Several monitors on the market have a menu system and a method for making a lot of adjustments, including color adjustments. Apple displays do not have such adjustments or any kind of menu system at all. All adjustment is done on the host system, meaning the graphics card in the Mac Pro.

  • How to convert U32 value obtained from color control of front panel to float(SGL) for use with IMAQ Draw ?.

I am trying to get user color inputs from front panel and use it in IMAQ Draw. I need to draw an oval of a certain color in a background of another color. Both these color values are user input. The problem is IMAQ Draw requires SGL color value and the color controls of front panel give U32. I have tried conversion VI's which hasn't worked. HELP !!!

    Jake,
I think the color control can be wired directly to the input, but I am not positive. I don't know of any color conversions that would help.
Make sure your image is a color image. You can't draw colors on a grayscale image.
You might want to consider using overlays, which appear on top of the image but are not part of the image.

  • Color control dashboard

Is the color control dashboard new to iMovie '08 or not?
Seems to be a bit like the color tool in FCP.

It seems that the dock was the guilty thing.
I killed it and now my background is back...

  • Can I get back the color control bar?

After a 5 hour download and install, the most noticeable change is that Apple changed the left-hand side control bar from colored to all gray.
Frankly, I've been very disappointed with Apple's design changes lately, and this one is another example, although, I love the new translucent trash can.  I've figured out work-arounds to many of the changes I find most offensive (e.g. my folders are no longer Yosemite-native neon blue.)
Is there a way to get back the colors on the left-hand side control bar in iPhoto?
I don't mind digging through hidden folders and re-building the icons so that my interface looks good again.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

If you want to restore the color to the Finder's sidebar give the open source application cDock a try.  You can change the Dock's background scheme (I use transparent) and add color icons to the Finder's sidebar:

  • EPSON printer update v2.3.1:  color controls now dimmed @ print dialog box

I have lost the ability to control color in the Print/Print Settings dialog box after this update. The Ink tab is dimmed and set to "Color," the Color Settings tab is also dimmed and set to "Off (No Color Adjustment)," and the Advanced tab brings up only information about the Colorsync profile. The graphic file (Photohop) I'm printing from is a grayscale file.
There is no difference in the Print dialog box between having Photoshop manage the colors or having the Printer do it.
My concern is that the printer will now be consuming color ink, but the actual prints appear to be using only the matte black.
Anybody else run into this? Should I be concerned?
    Thanks

From PHOTOSHOP (CS4) In the printer driver menu, the COLOR MATCHING pulldown shows the choices are grayed out. But go to the PRINT SETTINGS pulldown. There you should be able to select BLACK/COLOR Ink, color settings if appropriate (VIVID etc)...
Apparently not all programs gray out the COLOR MATCHING boxes - a demoed a RIP that does not do this but it has other issues (ImageNext2.1).
Also CS4 has the ability to completely disable color management (used for printer profiling), but some apps cannot do this with this driver (ImageNest2.1, DataColor Spyder3Print)

  • Simple color control panel.

My largest beef with Lightroom is that for the most part, the HSL sliders are good for creative color but difficult and slow for color corrections. And the white balance controls are terrible for color corrections when used to an RGB system as used in Photoshop (RGB Histogram, RGB Curves and probably the most useful, least appreciated tool the Color Balance controls.)
What I suggest is either a panel on the main Develop module with essentially the Photoshop Color Balance controls (perhaps plus a density slider) with the ability to switch to an RGB Histogram or Curves mode as well. Or better yet, an additional module that has these controls plus Density, Gamma, Contrast, Saturation, Vibrance and a customizable display of one or several images for easy color corrections and display of reference images and/or a selected image in the set to help aim color and skin tones towards.
Any improvement in the speed and ease of color correction would be great.

  • Color control in Fireworx CS3 mac

    Hi,
I just bought a wide gamut screen (HP LP2475w) which is fantastic for photography and graphic design but when I use Fireworks, Flash and a web browser the RGB colors are very strong and vivid. It's expected when using a wide gamut LCD panel. Is there a way to control the color gamut in Fireworks CS3 to mimic a standard LCD screen (sRGB)? The same as Illustrator and Photoshop have color management tools.
If not, does FW CS4 offer this?
    Thanks
    Mic

When you use Fireworks with both a wide gamut monitor and an sRGB monitor, is there a difference in the colors? If there is, there's a problem. The colors that most of your audience will see are the colors on the sRGB monitor not the colors on the wide gamut. This means that in order to judge colors accurately you have to view your layouts on the sRGB monitor and not your wide gamut. That's a problem.
If Fireworks used color management correctly, the colors on both monitors would be identical (within reason). Not all of us have a spare sRGB monitor to switch to when we have to do color specific work. I just can't believe that Adobe has gone yet another version of CS without fixing this issue. Especially as more and more designers are buying wide gamut displays.

  • Confused - Color control with multiple utilities available

I have Photoshop 7, Monaco EzColor, NVidia 6800 card with a control panel, and a SyncMaster 193 Plus digital monitor with control software. ALL of these can change the monitor qualities. I use Monaco to profile my scanner and printer - it does a great job; it can profile the monitor also.
My question is: what would be the best overall CM system - which combination of controls (or which one)would be best (the monitor control utility has stopped working and I have turned it off).
I would appreciate very much any advice born from experience.
    Thanks

    Thank you, Chris, sounds authoritative.
One more.... some system changes are forcing me to recalibrate printer and monitor (as above). I have a Photosmart 8250 HP. Printing from Photoshop AdobeRGB, I have choices in the Photoshop Print With Preview window, Color Management (or Output) and the Monaco printer profile with Perceptual (which I've been using).
In the HP Properties dialog I have a Color tab with a Color Management box, ("ColorSmat sRGB, Adobe RGB, Managed by Application, and ICM). Up until now I've been using "Managed by Application".
I am assuming this is the best route. Of course, the Monaco calibrating settings would have to be similar. Your comments, please?
    Thanks

  • Why no match color control?

I'm a Color newbie. I use match color/hue a lot in FCP and just 'expected' it to be in Color-I'm sure there's a good reason for its omission.
I guess it could be argued that its a cheat, but then so is auto everything on a dSLR
Point is, it gets you in the ball park. You can choose to use it or ignore it. Why isn't it included?

    Pataques wrote:
There are some odd ideas appearing in this thread.
Remember, the poster was asking about the AutoMatch feature in Color. I'm guessing you don't find it too useful either?
Firstly, a color match feature is definitely missing in Color. An easy, fluid, efficient function in both AVID and FCP's 3 way corrector, it just makes for extra, needless work in Color. Obviously it's not going to do all the work, but it's a very useful basis.
It's interesting. The pros I know who find the color match function useful are the same ones who find Avid's "Apply to entire reel" function useful. I've never found either useful. I think it depends on the type of projects you tend to work on.
On my projects, I'm lucky if I have a half dozen shots that can share a single setting. Apply a setting to a reel? Total waste of time. For me.
I know some colleagues that save much time because they're working on shows with controlled lighting on sets.
So - I think there's room for pros to disagree on the color match function. I think we can all agree it's a great demo and maybe marketing will get the Color team to implement something similar.
The upshot of all this is that the fastest, cleanest and most creative way of grading I know is to do most things in the 3-way filter and only go to Color for fine adjustments and special effects.
Well, I guess it depends on your setup.
With a control surface - no way. Color is far faster. And since I tend to always make fine adjustments, I might as well do the entire thing in Color.
But the original poster in this thread is working with a mouse so...
With a mouse, it's six of one half dozen of the other. Except at best all we can get done in FCP is a primary correction. Color sees only the last 3WCC filter.

  • Gap between spot color controls by preflight

I work with 8 spot Pantone colors. They are printed at the same time on a metallic support. Can I controler with Preflight the gap of 0.01 cm between colors? Thanks

    Seaside333 wrote:
I understand the content selector, and why to add the padding to the top, but what is the "clear:both;" do?
clear: both; forces the <div>, in this case your 'content' <div>, below any floated element/s which preceeds it. You have floated elements in the spry navigation which needed to be 'cleared' which allows the 'content' <div> to take up its natural position in the html flow. Adding padding top just pushes the text in the <div> away from sitting flush against the bottom of the navigation bar.

Images don't sit on the baseline because they are what is know as 'inline' elements. Adding display: block; makes them 'block' level elements which dont have the space beneath.
See the link below which explains about inline elements and the space:

  • Ical delegate color control for exchange 2007

I have found a way to change the colors of Exchange 2007 Delegate calendars/tasks!
    It's a bit involved but...
inside your /library/calendars folder you will find calendar folders with the extension .exchange. Inside each of these folders is an info.plist file, and one or two other folders (one for calendars, one for tasks) which also have info.plist files.  Each of these info.plist files include an attribute called Color.
With iCal closed, you can edit these plist files to the color you want them to be, rename/delete the Calendar Cache file from ~user/library/calendars and restart ical! Deleting the cache causes the info for all calendars to be reloaded/downloaded, but the new colors will take effect when this has completed.
Note: the info.plist immediately inside the <calendar-id>.exchange folder is the delegate name on the left hand side. The info.plist inside the subdirectories control the color of the calendar and tasks....it is possible for them to not match so update them all!

    Doug,
Thanks for the info.  I have the same problem in Mountain Lion.  Your workaround is not persistent.  Something is overwriting the plist files to change the color back to the original.  Any suggestions?  Thanks for your help.

  • Color control points a la NX2?

Is it possible to adjust colors in Lightroom the way you can in NX 2 with control points? Specifically can I change the color of the blue sky which may be partially obscured by a green tree? I'm playing with demo's of both products and trying to see if I can live with Lightroom or will need to fork out for both
    Thanks much!
    Michael

Lightroom doesn't have control points, but using the Target Adjustment Tool (see below) it should be possible to adjust selective Hue/Saturation/Luminance values independently of others.
You click on the tool then move across to image. Click on image and drag tool Up/Down and the correct slider(s) will increase or decrease respectively.
