AE CS3 Parenting not yielding good results...

Hello All,
Curious to know if there is a particular method to get a child layer/object to retain all the applied effects of the parent layer/object...?
My parent layer, which is a frame for a video thumbnail, utilizes a few transform properties and a wiggle effect. When I place the actual video thumbnail on a layer and parent it to the frame, the movements/transformations and wiggle do not align properly. After some research, it seems I am doing this correctly; however, my results do not keep the two objects in sync very well...
Any direction is greatly appreciated,

I saw that the Wiggle Effect wasn't inherient so I'll have to figure that at so they wiggle the same amount at the same time...
As far as inherient transform properties for the child, I do not see why the two layers/objects are so different...
As I scrub the timeline and check all the transform attributes, both the child and the parent transform settings are the same... I'm only altering position and scale but when I add the thumbnail video to a layer and parent it to the thumbnail frame, I have to maually edit transformations for the child layer to maintain the proper relationship as the parent, video frame, moves onto the screen...
Is there something I'm missing here, or is there another method...?

N86 camera not giving good results

I have recently purchased N86 with 8 MP camera, I have heard that it takes stunning pictures but the results are not upto the mark. Colors are faded, pics taken at night are often blur, my friend has a blackberry phone with 3 mp camera when compared blackberry pictures were better than my phone.
May be I haven't set the camera properly please guide me how to set it properly currently I have following settings:
Image Quality: 8MP
Extended Digital Zoom: off
Face Detection: off
Screen mode: Automatic
Flash: Automatic
Sequence Mode: Single Shot

CS3 Video Encoder not as good as FLIX?

I had the disturbing experience yesterday of having to ask my
client to encode their own flv for me to use. They had given me a
QT file, which for whatever reason, had a glitch in it that
prevented it from properly encoding on my stock CS3 video encoder
software. They don't have Flash, and are on a PC (I'm mac). They
encoded it using their Flix encoder, and talked about the newest
version ("S" or something like that). Case in
point, their flv worked and mine didn't. (Mine was playing fine,
but something in the metadata was getting goofed and not throwing
an end-of-file status flag for me to capture. So, I couldn't get
the program to automatically close the video and move on.) I
checked for an update to my CS3 encoder, which simply took me to
the basic "Adobe software update" software, which
suggested a few other updates that I'm assuming are irrelevant to
Flash. (Reader, Version Cue, Bridge, StartMeeting, After Effects).
So, my lengthy intro leads me to the question, "Is
my stock CS3 flv encoder not the best thing for encoding
(On2).?"
Is there an update or better solution I'm not aware of?

I've tested a few encoding options (Sorenson Squeeze, flix
on2, CS3 encoder)
Today we're using FlipFactory to encode our flv &
many more files but when I have a job to be done quickly I just use
the CS3 encoder, disregarding any other fancy features like 2pass
encoding I think that the CS3 encoder is pretty good and it writes
ALL the needed metadata.

My 1st Generation time capsule won't connect to the internet thru a new motorola sb6121 - get continuously flashing yellow light. Using a router in between the modem and capsule yields good but slower connection to internet. Any thoughts?

Let me give the history - I started with an Apple Express being fed thru a D-Link EBTR 2310 cable Router from an RCA DCM315 Modem (Pure). Comcast service all the way.
Got the 1st generation TC in 2008 and merely replaced the Airport Express with the TC. Worked ok
A year or two ago I did try removing the modem and feeding the TC directly from the modem. Resulted in the same condition I have now - Continuous flashing amber on the TC. So I put the router back in the chain.
Some time later, at the recommendation of a Comcast rep, I replaced the router with (a Belkin F5D 5231) to see if speed and dropout problems would be improved. I thought it helped some at the time but now I am not so sure.
Last week I decided to see if a new modem would help with download speeds. So I got another pure cable modem (Motorola SB 6121- high on the Comcast recommended list).
Got up and running easily with Comcast help and with the modem connected directly to a computer.
Next I put the TC in the link and again could not get past the TC continuing to flash amber. Although I did get connected to the internet with this configuration I lost connection two both of my printers - one connected by USB and the other wirelessly to the TC. Again everything works fine when I put the Belkin router back in the system.
However with the router in there, the modem shows the downstream connection to be 10/100 ethernet speed. (Modem light changes color for indicating speeds.}
I have gone thru all of the combinations of powering down/ up, but all stays the same.
I can live with what I have but something still doesn’t seem right.

Strange Essbase Issue - Calculation doesnot yield proper result in MaxL

All the Essbase veterans, need your help to look into this strange issue.
We are running Essbase on UNIX and we have a BSO application where a daily batch process runs to aggregate the database for Actual and Budget scenario. Strange things is, the nightly aggregation process doesn't properly aggregate the data, as we see variance between the stored and shared hierarchies. But if we run the same aggregation through EAS console manually, the aggregation yields correct results with zero variance between stored and shared hierarchies.
In the aggregation script we are clearing the upper level blocks (with UPDATECALC set to OFF), then use CALC dim on the entity and Accounts for aggregating the results.
This issue has been very strange to my little experience as the same calc behaves differently when called in MaxL.
Any helpful suggestion to nail this down are welcome.

Otherwise if they are stored members, then you have to do a calc twopass. No, it makes no difference to Run-time styling.
A design-time stylesheet is a stylesheet that is only applied to the page as you are working in DW. This is very handy if you have elements on the page which are normally hidden/visible and you want to toggle that visibility while in Design view. Or when you have content that is styled in a way that DW doesn't understand, but the browsers do - you can use a DT stylesheet to modify this styling in Design view only. I'll give you an example -
There is a metric that is used for font sizing called "rem". A rem is a relative em value - in other words, it specifies the ratio between the actual character size and the size of a base definition for the character size on the page. In previous versions of DW, this metric was not supported. So text content was abnormally large as a result when looking at a page using Design view. You also will lose (I believe) details about which files have been recently synched, and some of your local settings for guides and snap to guides.

Why is playback video quality not as good as the source?

Hi. I'm not new to PrE but am new to the forum.
I've been using PrE 2 for about 7 years. I got a newer computer running Windows 7 and basically was forced to upgrade to PrE 12 because PrE 2 didn't run very well on the newer machine. Once I installed PrE 12, I was eager to jump into my first project on this machine.
I expected that with a newer machine and the latest software, I would get outstanding results--hopefully much better than what I always got with PrE 2 on the old machine. With PrE 2, it was not uncommon that the imported video seemed lossy on playback or for whatever other reason seemed not as good as the source video.
Unfortunately, the results on the new/new were no better than the old/old. So I switched to my wife's (even newer) machine running Windows 8 and got the same results. Then I thought that perhaps the output to DVD would be better than what I saw in the PrE editor. No dice.
The video quality of the source isn't the greatest (see below), but I expected that the PrE 12 would be no worse.
What went wrong?

Please excuse if I mention things you may already be aware of, but I did not want to take anything for granted.
The installed RAM on Machine 1 is too low for HD work, and I wonder about the processor on Machine 2 even though it has more installed RAM than that on Machine 1. For now, I will bypass the usual drills and get to the source media and project settings.
1. From what I can put together, your source media from iPhone 4 are 720p up to 30 frames per second. That usually translates into a variable frame rate which can be problematic for Premiere Elements. The variable can lead to audio out of sync, but not necessarily. If all else fails, then it is onto HandBrake or the like to change the variable into a constant frame rate.
2. One of the features of version 11 and 12 is the program taking over the setting of the project setting based on the properties of the first video drag to the Timeline. Some times it does it OK, sometimes not. When not, then you set the project preset manually yourself based on what you know to be the properties of your source media. Please refer to the following which includes how to set the project preset manually.

Based on what I have read about the properties of the iPhone 4 video, I would suggest the project preset (assuming a NTSC set up)
NTSC
AVCHD
AVCHD-LITE 720p30
One of the important things to remember is that Premiere Elements 11 and 12 have as their default project preset
NTSC
AVCHD
Full HD1080i30
and not the NTSC DV Standard of versions earlier than 11.
When 11 and 12 do not get the automatic project preset correct, they do not give you the closest fit, rather they give you their
default NTSC AVCHD Full HD1080i30 which is not going to be appropriate for 720p video.
Classically it is written if you have the correct project preset you should have no colored line over the content when you bring the video to
the Timeline manually set. But, just the variable frame rate can trigger the unrendered indicator (orange instead of red in versions 11 and 12).
So, rendering the Timeline would be indicated to get the best possible preview under these circumstances.
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on either of your computers?

Adobe Premiere CS3 will not open!

Adobe premiere CS3 will not open. When I click on the Adobe icon on my desktop, I get this message: This application has failed to start because prm.dll was not found. I've tried several things such as: uninstalling the program then reinstalliing it. I tried to open Adobe by clicking on one of my projects by opening MY Computer from start on the taskbar, then click on c drive, etc. but it will not open. Before I started getting the error message stated above, when I clicked on the icon, the program would load to the point of showing the top portion of the page (file, edit, etc.) then stop. It would never fully load. HELP!!!!! I'm in the middle of trying to meet several deadlines.

First, search your system for every instance of prm.dll. See if you have one (could be corrupt, but a Repair Install should have repaired it) in your PrPro CS3 folder hierarchy. Do you have any more? How do the dates and sizes compare to the one, if there is one, in PrPro? Here is a LINK to a .dll site. I do not know this site, so cannot even comment on their .dll's. I'd do the first suggestion, well - first.
Also, I do not know this .dll. It could be a VST from an Audio editing program, or similar. Some of these have been known to bring PrPro to its knees, at launch. Might be worthwhile to check into it a bit more.
Also, take a look at Event Viewer. This ARTICLE will give you some tips on what to look for. Could be more happening, than the error message might lead one to believe.

Split message - InterfaceDetermination did not yield any actual interface

Hello experts,
We have the following scenario. PI 7.3 Single stack. text file input to multiple receivers.
The scenario works in Dev, but after transporting to QA test, it fails. I have transported ESR objects twice and have deleted and recreated the Integrated Configuration. Cache seemed to be up to date, and we had Basis restart the PI system.
The error messages states: "InterfaceDetermination did not yield any actual interface." However, the message is not splitting, so the failure is truly before that step.

There are no conditions on the Receivers. The file should always split to both,
Inbound processing is a file adapter.

Validator not returning the results.

Hi All,
I have extended the StringValidator class in order the create a username validator. When a new user is being registered, the username is validated on the server to check if it exists.
The code is not throwing errors and i know the remoteobject calls work. The push sets the message, but the problem is that the result is not returned.
Is the flow correct?

At first glance I would say that trying to combine your client-side and server-side validation into a single class like that is not a good idea. In doForUserName() you are making an asyncronous server call. The validatorResults will get returned immediately, so by the time your handler method executes it is already too late. Rather than trying to do both sets of validation at once, remove the server-side code from this class and use it as a normal flex validator. Then in your component (or better yet in your controller class if you follow an MVC pattern) call your service method after the client side validator returns a valid result.

IWeb Error: "Your search did not produce any results."

I just updated my iWeb and added the new search and comment features to my iWeb site. I am happy to see these features added but the search feature gives me a page displaying "Your search did not produce any results." Does anyone else have this issue? I am using my .Mac account and did a "Publish all to .Mac" to see if that would help. Comments work great. Can anyone help? Not good to have a feature that does not work.

I am having the same problem and can probably give you an answer as to why the search feature is not working...
Look carefully and you may notice that by re-publishing your site with 1.1, iWeb has converted all text on your site to image files (probably .png). This is what happened when I re-published.
Therefore, there is technically no text to "search" through...
No fix as of yet... I will ttry to republish yet again tonight

Dummy scen. error InterfaceDetermination did not yield any actual interface

I've created a dummy scenario to move any files. (PI 7.3)
I've created a dummy data type, message type, and 2 service interface (outbound and inbound) without any mapping.
Then I designed the scenario in the integration directory: 2 business components, sender and receiver file adapters, and integrated configuration.
I just want to read the file from source folder and write to the target folder. No mappings, no validations... But if the source file isn't an XML created from the source message type, I get the following error, I don't know why:
Error: com.sap.aii.adapter.xi.routing.RoutingException: InterfaceDetermination did not yield any actual interface
I know my source file isn't right, but I don't have any mapping or XML validation, so, why I get this error?
And I have another question. When I get this error, the message payload isn't persisted to PI so it disappears and I cannot check the message content. Is there anyway to enable PI to store the message payload when this error happens?

Follow the steps:
- No need to create any objects in ESR
- In scenario, whenever you need to put Inbound and Outbound Interface name, Type any name of interface which does not exist in ESR. Example: SIOA_LargeFile and SIIA_Large File with some Dummy Namespace as "http://dummy/LargeFile".
Hope steps are clear.
The whole idea behind giving Dummy names is: when we try to split our file into chunks and if we mention some defined structure with help of data type and message type, the output file is not created completely at once. It is created in chunks. A single chunk output file, will not have complete XML structure and hence will result into XML Parsing Error.
Please revert if any issues.

NonLinearFitWithMaxIters does not give correct results for phase

Dear all,
I am trying to fit a sin cuve with NonLinearFitWithMaxIters function of labwindows, but the results given by this function are dispersed a lot (the function does not give same results).
In fact, I have two waveforms signals v and i (of 104 points), and I find the phase between the two signals with NonLinearFitWithMaxIters.
The two singals v and i are measured with an osciloscope.
I use the following fit functions :
v=p1*sin(wt+p2) ;
i=p3*sin(wt+p4) ;
I use the NonLinearFitWithMaxIters function to fit the data and to have the parameters p1, p2, p3, p4. Then, the phase is claculated as follow phase=p4-p3.
The problem is that the phase calculted between the two signals (v and i) is different for each run for the same conditions.
In fact, for a same condition, I measure different times the signals v and i, and I calculate the phase p4-p3, using NonLinearFitWithMaxIters. The goal is to calculate a mean of phases for the same condition. For example, there are cases where the phase=-5 degree, and other cases when phase=12 degree.
For ten measures of v and i, the phase calculated is different. I get a big dispersion between the phases.
I would like to know please why I have a big difference in phases calculated with the same condition?whern using NonLinearFitWithMaxIters.
I read that this function does not give all time the correct results, is there a way to know when the results are not corrects and when they are correct ?
And is there any solution to find accuratly the phase between the two waveforms.

The pseudocode which I am using is :
v_err=NonLinearFitWithMaxIters(array_x,array_v,v_y_fit,1252,100,sinus,v_coef,2,&v_mean_squareError);
The fit function is

I use the same inital coeficient of v_coef for each run :
v_coef[0]=0.03;
v_coef[1]=0.2;
These coeficient are choosen arbitrary.
In this case, the number of points of the data is 1252 (the data of array_v).
The number of iterations is 100.
For the array_x, the distance between adjacents values of the array is dt=0.4*1e-9(difference between array_x[i] anv array_x[i+1]=dt=0.4*1e-9 ).
for (i=0;i<1252;i++){
array_x[i]=i*(0.4*1e-9);
The means square error returnned by the function when it is complished is small, of the order of 0,001.
