AE CS4 Critical Error in Setup/OS not compatible (but it actually is)

I downloaded the trial a long time ago, when I installed it a year ago, it worked correctly, but when I was renderizing a test project, my external HDD crashed, and alll my progress was lost. (And all my files too)
After that, my PC is still detecting the disk as an invisible one, with cache files on it. I installed another video editing software because I didn´t want more trouble.
But today I realized that after effects was a lot better, but because of my system specifications (32bit), I ran the CS4 setup.
Now, every time I run it, it say that my OS is not compatible, (I saw it in the error log) it says my OS is Windows 2000, but I have Windows 7 x86.
Another error, that's also shown in the log file, is the installation diretory, it seems to be G unit, that was my crashed hard drive, so it canpt find it, and it crashes.
NOTE THAT THE LOG COMES FROM THE FIRST TRY, I CAN´T FIND THE LOG ANYMORE, IT'S NOT IN THE LOG'S FOLDER. (/Common Files/Adobe/INstallers)

Ok, when I was installing the trial version of Adobe After Effects CS4, a message came up and "Internet Explorer" saying;
"Critical Errors in Setup. Please see setup log for details".
First off, what/where is the setup log?
And, how to fix this problem! Please help!

Dell Inspiron B130 Laptop
processer 1.60GHz
1.49GB of RAM
17.5 GB free of 31GB Harddrive.

Windows error message "Setup could not read the CD you inserted..."

I partitioned my Macbook HD using bootcamp assistant and allowed 32GB for the partition. Then I tried installing windows using the assistant. I only get as far as verifying the windows CD (not far as which file system to use FAT32 or NTFS). Then I receive the error message, "Setup could not read the CD you inserted, or the CD is not a vaild windows CD." I am using the Windows XP Service Pack 2 version - not an upgrade. Also I tried booting up straight to the CD but that did not help either. Any suggestions?

Please disregard my question. Although my Windows XP Pro documentation and folder did not say upgrade I just looked at the CD for the tenth time and just saw Upgrade printed on the CD. I'm not making excuses but the holographic images make the CD a little hard to read. Sorry for the trouble. I guess I will be going out and buying the full version now.

Problem connecting to internet via Firefox as XUL Runner Error Platform version is not compatible with minVersion 1.9.2.16 max version 1.9.2.16

Firfox requested to update previous version to new version of which i allowed. After installation complete i tried to connect to the internet and was denied with a following error window appearing. As explained above i shall explain again as shown in the error window.

This will not allow me to connect to the internet as i would like to continue to.

This issue can happen when the updater wasn't able to update all files in the Firefox program folder.
Do a clean (re-)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 4.0: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
* Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

I'm facing this problem:
When my .Net application tries to access the DB, I get this error message above.
The application is into the same machine of DB and the operational system is Windows Server Enterprise 64 bits.
I'm comparing to another machine that has the same scenario but runs in Windows Vista 64 bits. This problem doesn't happen and I can normally access the DB.
The both database versions are 10g Release 2 (10.2) and all components from Oracle Database Components 10.2.0.2.21 are installed as the containing bellow:

Hi,
Often the error "The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle client" is raised when the unmanaged dll OraOpsX.dll can't be found, can't be loaded, or is the wrong version. For version 10.2.0.x of ODP.NET and .NET Framework 2.x the file should be called "OraOps10w.dll" and should be found in the %ORACLE_HOME%\bin directory.
Since the ODAC pieces are installed on the same host as the database, are they in a separate Oracle Home or the same Oracle Home as the database software? If there are multiple Oracle Home directories, which one is in the system path first?
I would start with verifying the version of OraOps10w.dll and the system path on the server. You might also confirm that the Oracle Home directory (and everything under it) has the following permissions for Authenticated Users:
- Read & Execute
- List folder contents
- Read

Thanks for the flag J.K. - they contaced me and solved my problem. On this account (which I created just to ask this question), I log in with my email rather than my user name (mtalldud). On the account that I was having trouble with, they told me to use my user ID instead of my email to log in and it worked. This is a bit confusing and seems a bit inconsistent but at least I don't need this temporary account any more to get into this community and find answers!

Nope, it's still says it's not compatible with my device. This is from the Google Play Store in my desktop web browser, as well as Google Play Store Android app. I tried clearing the Play Store cache as well but it did not help.

Here are a couple suggestions:
1. Go into Settings > Safari and Clear Cookies Clear Cache
2. Fully close Safari: from your home screen, double tap your home button and the most recently used Apps will show up. Hold your finger on the Safari App until all Apps start jiggling. You'll see a minus sign on the upper left side of Safari. Touch the minus and Safari will fully close. Touch your home button again to stop apps from jiggline, then touch your home button again to return to your home page.
3. Reboot your iPad: Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (ignore the red slider) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart, but no data or settings will be lost.
After iPad comes back up, try Safari again, and you should be good to go.

CS4: "Critical errors were found in setup. Please see the setup log for details" !!

I am using Win XP Pro SP3. I have CS3 installed, and successfully installed Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash from CS4 Design Premium. Then I successfully uninstalled DW, FW and FL CS3.
When I tried to open a SWF in Illustrator it failed to open, and then I tried to create a really simple SWF (a rectangle) by exporting from Illustrator and tried to open that and it also failed. Whenever I tried to open or place ANY SWF into Illustrator I get a "file *** is in an unknown format and cannot be opened" error.
I decided there must be a corrupt file, maybe the upgrade must have affected some Illustrator files, so I tried to repair the CS3 installation. After over 2 hours of INTENSE FRUSTRATION having to constantly switch CS3 and CS4 disks many MANY times, the installation failed, listing "common files" that were missing from non-existent folders such as "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Desktop\Adobe CS4\Fireworks CS4\payloads\etc
When I tried to repair the CS4 installation after loading all the profile settings it errors before the installation window comes up, with "Critical errors were found in setup. Please see the setup log for details". Then it shuts down the installer. I then tried to do a system restore and system restore failed on all restore points!
Please help:
1. Where is "the setup log"?
2. Will creating and populating the folders mentioned in the failed CS3 installation from the CS4 disk allow it to work?
3. How can I uninstall CS4 if I can't even get to the installation window?
4. Has Adobe just DESTROYED MY REGISTRY BEYOND REPAIR!!!???

im haveing a huge irritation useing illustrator cs4 live paint bucket because i can use everything else apart from the paint bucket which should be the easyiest tool to use sometimes it works with the white arrow sometimes it doesnt i sometimes get this below message
the selection contains objects that cannot be converted. live paint groups can only contain paths and compound paths. clipping paths are not allowed
the lines which i have drawn are connected which i believe have to be in order to use the paint bucket and i have no clipping paths so i am am baffled
i presume it is because the line is set to 0.01 it seems the live paint bucket wont notice thin lines, but i tried makeing the line thicker so i could use the paint bucket and it still doesnt work.

CS4 Critical errors were found in setup (Win7 64)

I have a brand new HP Z1 workstation (Win7 64b, 32GB).
I cannot install CS4. I get the common message "Critical errors were found in setup. See setup log for details."
- I tried from my original DVD.
- I downloaded new install files from Adobe. Same problem.
- I tried the Adobe CS Cleaner Tool. No luck.
- I tried the Adobe Support Adviser log analyzer , which told me I had no issues.

I didn't see anything that seemed relevant in the examples. Also, it says "To troubleshoot Creative Suite 5 or CS5.5 errors that occur before you click Install in the installer user interface, see Analyze the Creative Suite 5, CS5.5, CS6 PDapp log." I think this might be me becuase I never get to an Install button, I just execute setup.exe and then it analyzes the system and reports the error. But I did not find a PDapp log in \Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp
Anyway, I did the package. Token #00-01493-124410072012. Is this all you need to access the log?

i have also tried to uninstall firefox to no avail
when i try to download 3.6.15 it works to 100% then is searching for viruses and there it stops.
i can get on the internet with firefox... but can't get to my email using thunderbird... but i was told the problem is a firefox issue.

I had already tried a reinstall before, but thanks for the suggestion. Starting FF in Safe mode did not help either.
XULRunner is specific to FF. Mostly found discussion about using the code in web pages when I used Google before posting.
When FF went from version 3.6.14 to version 3.6.15 this issue started. Please note the Error message and the version info I just mentioned.

Avast sandbox is up to date and works just fine with everything else. More importantly it worked just before the update was installed.
The only reason I bothered with the update is because Mozilla touted it as a security issue and there was NO mention of any known issues with sandbox software.
