Hi,
I have just downloaded the Windows copy. It looks like it now allows remote administration, which is cool. However, I found out that it does not install itself as a Windows service! Is it possible to install it as a Windows Service?
BTW, I think 'Sun ONE AppServer 8' sounds better that 'Java System Application Server 8' :P

Your info is at best vague. PSD files are compatible across versions on a very broad level, so whatever problem you have may be very specific. You have not provided any relevant technical info about your system or your files, so nobody can say anything specific, though.

I, like the vast majority of consumers, am not a regular forum user. Anything Durin wrote would have been outside my scope of vision. I'm quite certain that the forum community is contributed to and read by only a VERY small portion of Audition users. I personally only came to these forums after I bought and returned CS5.5 in hopes that I could get across to the Adobe team the reason why I felt the need to get my money back. I've been using Audition (and CEP) for over a decade, and this is the first time there's been a release called an upgrade even though it has far less features than the previous version. Due diligence is great. That's why I read EVERYTHING on the product page, which calls this release an upgrade (despite it having less features than a downgrade to 1.5) and fails to mention the huge decrease in features. You'd think that'd be pertinent information to put up front and center on the product page.
I actually found that feature comparison chart after I had returned the purchase. I couldn't find it through on links on the actual product page though. It took a Google search. A feature comparison chart is standard on the product pages of most software. but Adobe had good reason to not make it readily available. In fact, there's not even a link to it in the ONE AND ONLY faq that mentions a feature reduction here: http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/faq.html. Faq stands for frequently asked questions. A quick look in the forum shows that there are certain other questions that are far more frequently asked than the ones that are currently posted in that faq.
Likewise, the FEATURES page mentions nothing of the missing features. http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/features.html
I value authentic and transparent companies. I should be able to expect an upgrade to be an upgrade and for any reputable company to inform me on the product page if otherwise. I practiced the amount of diligence appropriately due for such a purchase. Avoiding this would not have required due diligence, but excessive diligence, especially back in mid April, when I first pre-ordered the product.
My suggestions:
Make it clear on the product page that this version is missing A LOT of the features that are in prior versions and that have been a staple of the product line. This version may be quite good as a product of it's own, but not when it's billed as an upgrade to a product that had far more features. Explain more clearly that it's a rebuild and that it lacks many features.
Make the "feature comparison chart" a tab on the product page. It's more important than the current features tab, and more revealing than the reviews and faq tabs combined. Marketing teams should help people find what they want, not mislead them - through withheld information - into buying something they don't want. If the product is good, there's no reason to hide anything. A comprehensive reading of the product page will show anyone who's experienced this version that much of the relevant info about it is hidden.
Update the faq to address the questions that are actually most frequently asked, and not just questions that you want people to ask so you can give the happiest sugar coated answer you have up your sleeve. These questions should include:
What features are missing?
When will the features be re-implemented? Update, or future version? CS6? When's that expected?
How do I open Audition 3.0 sessions in CS5.5 (while preserving settings)?
What members of the Audition clientele is this best suited for, and which users would be better off waiting for the next upgrade?
Durin has definitely been great in clearing things up for us. Of course, that took people asking! I think if Durin was in charge of marketing there'd be happier customers (and probably less money wasted on the poor customer service system). It's not that difficult to just tell about the product as it is, warts and all. If the product has value, then there's no reason to hide the facts about it deep in the site. Just tell your costumers, in bold writing on the front of the product page, who amongst them the product is actually best suited for - and don't try to mislead the rest!!

Yes, that is correct. However, SCM is no longer being released as a standalone product. You should use Oracle Designer (which includes the Repository and all SCM functionality) instead.

New iOS Beta2 SDK now available

We've recently released a beta2 version of the Mobile Services iOS SDK with offline support. See the
changelog for a list all changes in this release.
We've added a lot of new features, including:
- Support for incremental sync (breaking change to pullWithQuery method signature)
- Query parameters for pull operations
- Soft delete support
- Force purge of local data
Get new SDK
To use the new SDK, delete your existing Mobile Services framework, and add the
new beta2 iOS SDK. Or, you can try a new Todo List sample by following the
updated offline tutorial.
Update calls to pullWithQuery
Once you have updated to the new SDK, your project will fail to compile because of a change to the signature of pullWithQuery, which now takes a queryID as a parameter.
Each time a pull operation retrieves new results, the SDK saves the query ID and the most recent updated timestamp of the result. Incremental sync uses this timestamp to pull only those records that have been added or modified since the last sync. The query
ID should be a descriptive string that is unique for each logical query in your app. To opt-out of incremental sync (which is potentially inefficient), pass nil as the query ID.
So, calls to pullWithQuery should now be similar to the following:
[self.syncTable pullWithQuery:query queryId:@"allTodoItems" completion:^(NSError *error) { /* ... */ } ];
Update Data Model
The new incremental sync feature also requires a few changes to system tables in the Core Data store. If you haven't yet released your app and you have synced all of your data to your mobile service, the easiest way is to uninstall your app, then update
your SDK and data model. The data model changes are listed below.
Alternatively, you can use
lightweight Core Data migration to upgrade to a new data model. Download
this model definition for a sample todo app as the basis for a new model.
Model changes
In MS_TableOperations, add a new attribute:
- tableKind of type Integer 16
In MS_TableOperationErrors, add two new attributes:
- tableKind of type Integer 16
- operationId of type Integer 64
Add a new Entity named MS_TableConfig with the following attributes:
- id of type String
- table of type String
- key of type String
- keyType of type Integer 64
- value of type String

You’re correct that you cannot use fetchLimit and fetchOffset if you are using incremental sync. Essentially the SDK is managing the batching behavior for you, and we have currently hardcoded a batch size of 50. If you need to limit the actual size
of the full query results, I recommend using the query itself, such as limiting the date range of records retrieved. Alternatively, you can add code in the backend to put a hard limit on query result size, regardless of how many skip and top requests come
from the client.
Our new sample always queries the server when online, but by default all reads will only go to the local store. You have to explicitly call pull or push in order to make a server request.

SDSoC development environment for Zynq SoCs and MPSoCs now available

The SDSoC development environment provides a familiar embedded C/C++ application development experience including an easy to use Eclipse IDE and a comprehensive design environment for heterogeneous processing designs based on the Zynq SoC and MPSoC device families.

Sorry about the delay in responding. There isn't a document that spells out the bug fixes right now.
Briefly, the main fixes in 2.0.1 are around:
-Errors related to workspaces having spaces in the path
-Can't stop a server when there's a space in the domain path
-Difficult to create a server against a domain other than the default
-EPL syntax highlighting didn't work in some valid config files.
And a handful of smaller UI oriented fixes.

Ok sorry I've taken so long to respond. The reply button wouldn't pop up for me to reply!
There was never a dialog box asking for me to select the program from installed programs when I open the pdf from outlook express. But when I opened a pdf from my desktop it asked that question and I had it "always use this program to open this type of file." So I assumed that it was would work when opening from outlook express. But it doesn't.
I've tried unclicking the protected mode button under the preferences general section. And finally I'm not sure how to post screenshots of the attachment thumbnail and dialog. I'm looking all over my keyboard for a button to push I don't have a clue as to what to do! I do have a print Scr button but when I click on it nothing happens. I've tried holding down the shift key and the button and the alt key and print scr button but nothing happens.
Could it be that somehow it's not recognizing ARCO.EXCH.DOCUMENT as that's what it thinks the type of document is?
I've already created an association for pdf files and it'll open them on my desktop, just not in outlook express.

IPS 7.0(8)E4 service pack now available!

The difference between 7.0(5) and 7.0(5a) is just which Signature Update is included.
7.0(5) included S558
7.0(5a) included S549
The reason for including a lower signature update in 7.0(5a) is because of an issue that happened in the S550 Signature Update.
There was a change to default signatures which could cause issues in configuration.
The Signature Update installations could handle the problem and allow users to correct the issue.
The Service Pack installation, however, is not able to detect the problem and could lead to a larger problem.
So in order to prevent a Service Pack from encountering the issue we re-issued the 7.0(5) Service Pack as a 7.0(5a) Service Pack and put in a Signature level prior to the one that could cause the situation.
Both 7.0(5) and 7.0(5a) have all of the same other files on the sensor.
And if you upgrade 7.0(5) and 7.0(5a) to S567 or higher, then both versions are fully equivalent.
The only difference between the 2 was in the Sig level, and so by applying S567 they are now at the same Sig Level.
The issue with the Signature Update will only affect a few rare customers.
There is a specific signature that if tuned could cause a configuration issue. (You can look in the Readme to see which signature it was, I can't remember right now).
If you did NOT configure this signature, then both 7.0(5) and 7.0(5a) work just fine.
If you've loaded 7.0(5) and it is working, then you don't have to worry about needing to install 7.0(5a), you won't have the issue.
If you have not installed 70(5), then go ahead and use 7.0(5a) so you won't hit the issue.

My student has been using Lightroom 4 with Photoshop CS5 on her Mac for well over a year. Because of the difference between the Camera raw version available to her in Photoshop CS5 and the raw process in Lightroom 4, she has been exporting her raw images

My student has been using Lightroom 4 with Photoshop CS5 on her Mac for well over a year. Because of the difference between the Camera raw version available to her in Photoshop CS5 and the raw process in Lightroom 4, she has been exporting her raw images from Lightroom and choosing the "Render using Lightroom option when it popped up in the dialogue box. She has been doing this for over a year and a half without any problem. Today when she hit Command E no dialogue box appeared and the image just opened in Photoshop. I'm concerned that all of her Lightroom edits are not being rendered to Photoshop. Anyone have an idea as to how we can get the "Render using Lightroom" dialogue back?

My Apple Macbook hard drive crashed and I had to replace. Now trying to reload CS5 and having issues. When I click download from Adobe download page, a screen pops up saying "Access Denied". I have serial number, but don't even get to a page to enter. Ple

Make sure you have cookies enabled and clear your cache. If it continues to fail try using a different browser.
You can also download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.
