AE CS5 "Options" for CC Particle World

In CS5 the "Options" button is gone. I already know that features like floor and stuff are in the plug-in, but what about motion blur?

I can't seem to find the control settings in Particle World that will prevent particles fading in as they are born and fading out as they die. I can't get them to stay opaque throughout the length of the scene. This causes semi transparent particles to pass by the camera. In addition, particles that are further away from the camera appear in front of particles that are closer causing a surreal effect. using a Custom opacity map improves things a bit as far as opacity goes but then causes some ugly and unnatural particle intersections

How can I change the import options for an Excel table in InDesign CS5.5?

I have a problem with an InDesign script that works this way in ID CS4 and ID CS5, but stops working in ID CS5.5.
What the script should do, is to change the import preferences for a table saved in an Excel file so that I can place an unformatted table into a new textFrame in my InDesign document. The Excel document is an .xlsx-File.

What the script does (or at least seems to do) is: nothing. The table that is placed into the textFrame by the script is always formatted, as this seems to be the standard preference of InDesign CS5.5 for importing tables out of excel files.
Does anybody have a hint for me how to make the script work in ID CS5.5?

Okay, now it is working. I had to save the XLSX-file into the older XLS format, but that seems to work quite well.
But I won't ever understand why InDesign loses its backward compatibility from one version to the other.

I'm setting up my new workspace and I can't seem to find the "Master Diameter" option for my brush/eraser. Is there a setting that I need to change to show advanced options?
I used to see Master Diameter where it now says "Search"

Can I repair an OnLocation CS5.5 for Mac MOV file that was corrupted by a crash?

I have a 16Gb MOV file from OnLocation CS5.5 for Mac that has been corrupted. The program froze and then crashed mid record and the file is now unusable. Is there any way that the file can be repaired or the video footage recovered?

I believe it's a DV file in a MOV container but I'm not certain since OnLocation for Mac gives no options for configuring the codec etc.
Looking at posts about the windows version in seems that it uses a dummy header and replaces it with the real thing when you stop the recording. I was wondering if the Mac version does something similar and if it does an the header from a working file be transplanted across somehow.

First, have you installed all the updates for photoshop cs5 by going to Help>Updates from within photoshop cs5?
The automated installer only installs the following plugins:

Export Video but no option for sound

I would be grateful if anyone could offer any suggestions on how to fix an audio issue with exporting video from Photoshop.
I am choosing the quicktime format however the option for sound is alwas greyed out. from the animation panel I have the audio enabled and I can hear it when I play back from within Photoshop.
I am using Photoshop CS4 extended on PC Windows 7
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

For audio I need to choose Quicktime format
Photoshop is primarily image editing software (with video capabilities)

I do not have my CS5 Extended handy, so will go from the Premiere Pro (Adobe's video editor) side of the street. Bear with me on this, as PS-Extended might do things a bit differently.
When one is Exporting an AV file, there are two things that must be set:
Exporting both Audio & Video (in PrPro, these are done via checkboxes in the Export>General dialog screen)
Then, one must set Multiplexing * on the Export>Multiplexing dialog screen, to anything but "None." The choice is usually "DVD."
It's the Multiplexing Tab, that many miss. If set to None, then there will be two separate Export files - one for the Video stream, and one for the Audio stream.
Hope that gets you close, and sorry that I cannot open things up, and give you the exact screens and tabs in PS-Extended.

* Multiplexing is the combining of both the Audio & Video streams into a single, discrete file. Multiplexing is usually OFF by default, though in PrPro, it's a "sticky," in that it retains the last setting, so if the user wishes to make a change, they must do so manually, and that setting will then stick, until changed again. The Export of separate files for Audio & Video is most often used, when one is doing the Export to go to a DVD, or BD authoring program, like Adobe Encore. It works best with elemental streams, rather than muxed files, and especially with MPEG Audio.

#1. Understand that if you switch carriers, you can NOT take your existing iPhone with you. It won't work. You will need to purchase a new one.

Photoshop CS5 Optional Plugins downloaded file issue

I am trying to download the Photoshop CS5 Optional Plugins from the following Adobe website http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4688.
I'm using IE9 as my browser and opting to save the file to my desktop.
The downloaded file appears as follows on my desktop - PSCS5OptionalPlugins_Win_en_US.zip.av6ac0u - whiich I'm unable to unzip and use. I am able to download other plug ins from the Adobe site. Is there an alternate page for downloading these files or some "trick" to downloading these particular plugins?

CS5 Optional Plugins Problem??

I work for a college. I have a lab of 20 identical machines. They are iMacs running Leopard. They have Adobe CS5 Standard installed. Last night one of my faculty said that photoshop was missing two plug-ins. Web Photo Gallery and ContactSheet. I look online and found a handy dandy CS5 Optional Plug-In patch that will install all of these plug-ins as well as about 15 more. This patch is officially made by Adobe and on their website. (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4687) I go to install this patch and I get a message that you have to have photoshop 12.0 or greater to install this patch. I re-download the patch. Double check that photoshop is at least 12.0 and it is when I click on the about link on Photoshop. I run the Adobe updater and run the photoshop update that upgrades it to 12.0.1 (or 12.1, but I think it is 12.0.1) and re-tried the patch install. I get the same exact message about having to have 12.0 or greater. I even went to this website (http://generatex.com/cs5.html) with step by step instructions on how to install the plug-ins and no go. I called Adobe and they want to charge me for the call. I ended up finding a link (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/828/cpsid_82824.html#main_Plug_ins_installed_in_CS5__optional_in_ previous_versions) that mentions that 64 bit photoshop cannot have Web Photo Gallery and ContactSheet installed on it. However, when you right click on the Photoshop app you can click the option to run in 32 bit mode. Making that change did not correct the issue when I re-tried the install. I think I am out of luck. Anyone run into this or have any alternate ideas?

Please open <Photoshop installation folder>/Configuration/XManConfig.xml, search following line:
<Data key="ProductVersion">12.0</Data>
make sure the value is 12.0, you can modify it to 12.0.1 in your case. Extension Manager determines the version of Photoshop according to this value. If you can not find this line, add it manually. Save this file and retry. I can not reproduce this issue unless I modify this value to 11.0 or less.

Unfortunately, no. the CS programs are platform specific. You have three options. Upgrade to CS6 and request a platform swap, in which case you will give up the Windows serial number. Second, you could buy a second serial number for Mac outright. Third, you can buy the subscription to Photoshop CC, which can be used on both Windows and Macintosh..
