AE CS6 Constantly reloading frames and unable to work on scene

So I'm having a major problem with after effects cs6 as it is constantly relaoding the frames. Let me give you some info, so from the 3d rendering we have one pass that is completed from the scene and for example it's 1000 frames. So those 1000 frames are finished rendering from the 3D program(3dsmax). I'm able to bring those frames into AE with no errors and no frames missing errors. However once i start working on it in AE and since our 3d scenes we have multiple renders that render out different parts from the scene, if the 1000 frames is finished completely and we have one or two more renders that are anywhere from 500-1500 frames just as an example that are saved in the same folder as the completed 1000 frames, AE freaking crashes every damn time! Unable to work or click anywhere. Just because it is being saved in the same folder that the other ones are being saved to as well! Never had this problem in 5.5 and it is really annoying. Anyone know of any ways to work around this or having the same problem??

You should put each sequence in a different folder. If the new render is additional frames for the same scene the same thing holds true. Put each render in it's own folder.
If you're adding to an existing sequence with the same file name then AE is not going to like having additional frames loading in while it's working. It would be the same thing as recapturing footage with the same file name in the same folder while you're trying to pull up the footage in another app. Rendering additional frames for the same sequence in the same folder while AE is working has always been a bad idea. You may have gotten away with it in CS5.5 but that was a fluke. It is essentially the same thing as trying to work on video while it is being captured.
If you're rendering different passes (diffuse, specular, etc.) you can get away with these additional sequences with a different file name being stored in the same folder but IMHO, this is not good project management.

So my iPod Touch battery is like this too..except worse. I can't take mine off the charger considering it will die in less than a minute. I recently posted a question like this too so if I get any feedback, i'll let u know. Stay in there & dont charge it unless it's COMPLETELY dead (not to were it turns off, but to were it's telling you "20% Battery Remaining), and don't take it off the charger unless it's COMPLETELY charged. CS6 color pallet, brushes, and shapes not working.

I have been having issues with my shape tool not working at all a message pops up saying that "Cannot use tool due to program error," but does not give an error code, then the same thing started happening with my brush tools and the color pallet will not switch colors unless I close the program even then it's 50/50 that the colors switch. I recently uninstalled then re-installed Photoshop CS6 and it is still happening. I have noticed that Kaspersky Security 2013 keeps blocking the Raw Camera updates, could it be messing up the entire program or is this an internal CS6 program issue. Please help I want to get back to my artwork I'm so far behind.

User preferences survive un-install and re-install and are often the cause of Photoshop problems. You also provide very like pertinent information other the you have problems use CS6 which is the buggiest version of Photoshop ever released. I could not use ir fir the first five month that I had ir. It took Adobe that long to fix some of the bugs the were biting. The First update fixed 506 core issues according to Adobe Blog. You Also noted the security programs cause problems with updates. Adobe suggest turning off such security when updating. When Adobe puts out useless error message like failed because of program error you need to see if you can reproduce the error is a repeatable way to help point to what is causing the error.
First try resetting you Photoshop Preferences. When Photoshop start acting up the is one of the first thing to try before resorting to re-install. Adoeb evet has a start-up shortcut key to reset your preferences Shift+Ctrl|CND+Alt|Option

Drag and Drop stopped working in iTunes

Just recently upgraded to latest iTunes 10.4, OS X 10.5.8 and Wacom driver 6.1.6-4. Drag and drop a selection to a playlist in iTunes no longer works. All was fine before iTunes/OS upgrade. Only upgraded Wacom to see if it made a difference which it didn't. Dragging and dropping with a USB mouse seems okay. I've noticed several similar problems on this board with no solution. Anyone else having this issue that has found a solution? Thanks.

Your case sounds very similar to mine. I a bit older Mac G5 running OS X 10.5.8. When I upgraded to iTunes 10.4 I found the drag and drop gone and a few other inconsistencies. I reloaded iTunes and now everything works pretty well, but if I go into the iTunes Store my drag and drop feature goes away. If i relaunch iTunes it comes back until I go in the Store again. Hoping someone more familiar with the OS and application details can point me in some direction. Thx

I tried to reload my Ipod touch. I accidently selected "start new ipod" icon on the Ipod and then "back up existing ipod" on Itunes. Now the Ipod is unresponsive, constantly shutting down and restarting. Even after multiple "forced" shut downs. Help!

After updating the os, I tried to shut down, clear and reload my Ipod touch. Here's where I goofed: at the prompt for starting the reload process, I selected "start as new Ipod" on the Ipod, but in Itunes, I selected " back up existing Ipod from computer" or something like that. Now the ipod is constantly shutting down and restarting and no controls can be accessed. All I can do is the "forced shut down" which I have done multiple times and let sit for a half hour off.

Disregard, hooked up to itunes and clicked on summary, selected restore, all is well.

Could try saving as tiff provided layers and transparency are chosen at the time of saving. But it's hard to give a definitive answer as it depends on the final usage. For example PSD's tend to work better in applications like In Design in comparison with tiff.

It looks like you're actually using a camera or phone to take a photo of your monitor.
That's not what is commonly known as a "screen shot".
It looks like you're on a Mac. Hitting Command+Shift+3 places a capture of the contents of your entire monitor on your Desktop; hitting Command+Shift+4 will give you a cross-hairs cursor for you to select just the portion you want to capture.
I'm mentioning this because I fear I'm not construing your original post correctly when you type "I am working with a large files [sic], currently it has 149 layers, all of which are high resolution photographs", so I'm wondering if there's some similar use of your own idiosyncratic nomenclature in your description of your troublesome file.
Perhaps I'm just having a major senior moment myself, but I'm utterly unable to imagine such a file. Would you mind elaborating?

Photoshop CS6 issue with shortcuts and my keyboard after upgrade from CS5

I recently upgraded from CS5 Extended to CS6 Extended on my Mac (Mavericks), but installed it in English instead of German this time. I transferred most of my presets just fine, but none of the keyboard shortcuts were working. All I got was an unequal sign for all shortcuts and even manually changing them didn't get them to work. I found a few discussions about this issue and ended up adding a German keyboard, as I am always on the Romaji setting of my Kotoeri (Japanese) keyboard. That seemed to solve the issue, but only if I change to the German keyboard before opening Photoshop. Shortcuts don't work in CS5 anymore either unless I do. Sometimes the shortcuts also stop working a while after I change back to the Kotoeri keyboard.
Now I would like to know if there is any way to get around this issue. Isn't there a way to get my shortcuts working again without constantly having to change keyboards? I much prefer the Kotoeri one since the icon for the German keyboard in my menu bar looks extremely obnoxious, in my opinion. It's mostly a cosmetic thing to me, but I would love to get everything back to the way it was before.
I'd much appreciate any advice or help.

I am having a similar problem. Just upgraded to Apple Yosemite and all none of my keyboard shortcuts are working in a clean install of Photoshop CS6. Every menu item has some form of the ≠ sign. I've trashed the .plist file, rebuilt permissions, etc. Even basic keyboard commands, like Command-N for NEW or Command-Q for QUIT do not work. In fact, many don't show up in the menu at all. I don't have this issue in InDesign CS6 or Illustrator CS6. Every once in awhile, maybe 1 time out of 20, menus and keyboard shortcuts work properly, but I can't find any pattern.

In Windows Live Hotmail, the tabs/elements constantly reload. Can you fix this?

P2/MXF Footage in Premiere Pro CS6 constantly losing its linkage.

P2/MXF Footage in CS6 constantly losing its linkage. I'll relink the clips as the 'locate footage' box pops up, then a couple of minutes later, all the clips in the bin are showing the question mark and asking me to locate the clips again. It does this over and over. This happens on both my desktop machine and on my laptop.
Not having this problem with any of the file types at this point.

Just saw an official reply on another similar question asked at the same time as mine and that Adobe is aware of it and it's being worked on.

Audition CS6 Crashes on Save and Attempts to Recover - Temp File Solutions?

After a 46 minute session recording in 44.1K, 16-bit, stereo running CS6 on Windows 7, my attempt to save the wav file resulted in a crash with Close Program or Look on Internet for Solution.
Attempts to restart the program and use recovery data worked initially, but subsequent save attempts resulted in the same crash.
Attempts to copy the wav file also resulted in a crash.
Shutdown and restart of the system yielded the same results, in fact worsening on some attempts to recover, where the data file reported 2 errors, eventually resulting in a complete freeze of CS6 when attempting the recovery.
At some point, the recovery option no longer was displayed -- may have been my fault, but there is a large 2+ GB file under c:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Temp\Adobe\Audition\5.0 named Audition5Temp9b878c42-d2e1-46cf-b433-9cebd47d6640 with no extension.
I tried importing this as raw data, 44.1K, 2 channel, 16-bit PCM, Default Byte order, but that resulted in what appeared to be a 3-hour file that was very high amplitude noise.
I'm hoping for a means of recovering this data file. In the years I used CS5.5, I never had a problem like this and recovery always worked in those rare instances when it was needed.
This is my second extended session with CS6, and this crash has left me wondering why I bothered to upgrade.
Is there any hope at all here of recovering this session from the Audition5Temp file, or is it a total loss.
Please let me know.

Hi Kent,
This issue has come up from time to time and we've traced it to a third-party application that is often installed and running on pre-configured computers. SupportSoft makes a system monitoring application that Dell, HP, Comcast, and others install, but which can interfere with applications. Since Audition uses the OS file dialog API, whereas Photoshop and the other design applications use a native dialog, this support application can often cause us to crash.
It's simple to disable, which should prevent Audition and other applications from crashing. Click the START button (or whatever it's called in Vista) and type MSCONFIG and press ENTER. When the "System Configuration" application launches, click the Services and Startup tabs and uncheck any item that reads SUPPORTSOFT or SUPPORTCMD. Click OK and restart and see if that doesn't fix the Audition issue.
If not, or if you're unable to locate those particular applications, please let me know and we can dig into this deeper.

After updates frozen/reloding programs frames and "FINDER" not available

I made the updates today (18. Dec.) for Mac OS X Update 10.5.1; Quick Time 7.3.1; iTunes 7.5 and Security Update 2007-009 Vers. 1.0. after that I had the problem with blinking/reloading frames. I can write this post only in intervalls of approximately 10 seconds, then the screen is blocked and reloads again. The same in other programs...
The Finder doesn't work either. Every file on my desktop did disappear... Time machine doesn't work. If anyone can help please help!!!
I restarted the mac several times also with the key combination of apple key, alt key and r + p key pressed. And also with the shift key pressed. It didn't work. I took it also from the electric wire... Nothing worked out...
After restarting the blinking of the "windows" restarts and the "finder" is not available...

Do an Archive and Install.

After Effects CS6 interface very slow and causing weird things happening

Since upgrading from AE CS3 to CS6, I noticed that the interface is much slower in CS6 than in CS3.
Specifically, when working in the timeline window, like renaming layers, or even just clicking just a layer, it takes up to multiple seconds before the action is actually applied.
When I move my mouse within that delay period, unexpected results happen, eg accidently a layer is moved up or down.
It seems that AE still thinks I hold and drag something, while that's not the case.
Or that the mouse down - mouse up registration is delayed, AE thinks I'm still holding the left mouse button. Not very good.
Very frustrating because at first I didn't even notice a layer was moved. When going back to CS3 it's a relief to work with.
Note that I'm not talking about render times of the preview, I know when to wait.
But I expect the interface to respond within reasonable times. Clicking a layer should actually highlight it within less than a second, not multiple seconds.

I updated AE to 11.0.2.11 (that fixed the "Need 2 frames or more for ram playback" but not the UI response time)
I work on an iMac with OSX 10.6.8, 3Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4GB ram, and an OCZ Vertex 3 SSD
In the current case, I work in a comp with about 40 shape layers, 2 tiff sequence layers (stored on the SSD), and a few PSD files. Resolution 1080p
I turned off multiprocessing, enabled disk cache
Time to throw it out?
Is the 2012 iMac line up to the task (Nvidia Geforce GTX 660M / 675MX, Intel Quadcore i5 2.7-3.2Ghz - not fantastic right)?
Switch to PC to get real power?

Adobe premiere cs6 suddenly EXTREMELY slow and CPU intensive

Hi everyone,
I'm editing candon 5d mk III footage (h.264 files) on my late 2011 MacBook pro. Here are the specs..
240 gig SanDisk SSD harddrive (190 gigs free)
500 Gig (250 gigs free)
8 gigs ram
2.4 ghz i5 processor
Intel HD graphics 3000 graphics card
I'm a wedding videographer and I am currently closing my last edits of the season. I have edited 20+ 45 minute videos on Adobe Premiere CS6 and have had absolutely no issues at all. I enjoy working on premiere so much that I've been trying to get my videographer friends to give a shot and simplify their workflows.
Upon starting my second to last edit (same process as the other 18 videos I've done this season, organizing the footage within it's respective folder, loading it into premiere with the couples' choice in music and opening 4-5 new sequences based on the events of the day) I noticed that I was having a lot of trouble importing folders into my media bin. I had to import all of the footage unorganized because loading the folders "Preperation, Ceremony, Photos, Reception" with the footage within them would cause premiere to freeze and become unrepsonsive. So, finding no solution I added all the footage in no particular fashion. Just one large unorganized group. Then, while organizing the files into bins, I noticed even the smallest move would take several minutes to complete. Because I was working directly off of my hard drive I figured these kinds of delays would eventually catch up to me, so I moved all of my files to my HDD and decided to work on them there. The project itself continued to be extremely slow and started crashing regularly (especially when applying audio effects). After a few hours, I stopped being able to play 1080p video at all. It would jam and stutter so often it become unuseable. 720p video was the next to go along with my ability to render anything in less than 30 minutes - 1 hour. At last attempt to use premiere I was getting an "Unable to compile movie - Unknown Error" message when trying to render alpha channel things (lower third titles and things of the nature), my ability to change the resolution of the playback had disappeared (Going from full, 1/2 and 1/4 did nothing, it just remained at full quality) and finally doing anything in premiere caused it to use 300% of my CPU (based off of my Activity Monitors metering).
Does anybody have any clue as to what could be happening to my machine/program? I have a yearly subscription to adobe's creative cloud service if that helps. Oh and I've tried moving my media cache's from my HDD to my SDD with little or no results. Don't know if that helps.
Thank you to anyone who helps in advance. What I believe to be clean installs aren't doing anything so I'm hoping somebody can give me a hand.

Sounds to me like specific media is dragging the Mac to a halt. (300%, really Apple? Isn't that like saying that my car can go up to 90mph, but last night I drove it at 300% speed, 270mph)
Some things to trouble shoot:
Do you have any assets in the project that are loaded directly from strange devices, like a SD card or CD audio? Any dynamic link media that may be problematic?
Is there anything that makes this footage different than footage from successful projects?
Can you work successfully with an old project?
Can you successfully start a new project using different or less media?
Is the 500 GB drive internal or external?
One time I was sent out at from work to troubleshoot a system that would freeze up like yours. The guy was an idiot and rude client that demanded that someone from our facility help him fix his own project. He said that he had been troubleshooting for a day, and then had convinced his organization's IT guy that he needed a way over spec new pc to run Premiere.
His system was fine. Within 3 minutes of checking media in his project, I saw that top track of the problem sequence had a video clip that was set to a speed of .01%, and he had the clip stretched for 24hours in the sequence. His project was supposed to be a 2 minute PSA. All his issues went away after removing the idiotic Day Long slow motion clip. He complained to my boss because I had laughed at him.
I relate that story to illustrate that it could be a weird thing with you media or fx, just as well as a hardware or software issue.
