AE CS6 Fails to reload project containing imported AAF media

My client is running After Effects CS6 on an HP z800 with 8GB Ram.
When importing an AAF from Avid into the projects there are no issues until the project is saved, closed and re-opened at a later date. The project progress bar will then hang at between (15 - 96%) and After Effects locks up.
Without rebuilding the system, I am out of ideas. If anybody has encountered this before or has any suggestions I would love to hear your input.

Well, does your Avid reorganize stuff in the meantime? Could simply be an issue with access to the media files. Adobe tools are notorious for not dealing correctly with certain Avid media setups or specific Avid QT reference files...

Can Ppro CS3 projects be imported by Media Encoder CS4

Hello:
I have Ppro CS3. I also have the Design Suite CS4. I would like to render out Ppro CS3 sequences or projects into F4V files in Media Encoder CS4.
Does anyone know if this is possible? When I select "add Premiere sequence" in Media Encoder CS4 and find the Ppro project in the file tree Media Encoder hangs just upon selecting the Premiere project without even attempting to add to the render queue. I am not sure if this is because CS3 project are incompatible, or for some other reason. As mentioned, Media Encoder CS4 hands as soon as the Premiere project is clicked to selected and before "ADD" is clicked to add to the render queue.
Anyone come across this problem? Is it fixable, or are Ppro CS3 projects just incompatible with Media Encoder CS4.

However, unfortunately, I do not have Premiere Pro CS4. This is why I am trying to export to Media Encoder CS4. I own the Design Premium CS4 suite which has Media Encoder CS4 version built in.
Media Encoder actually is a stand alone product. When you bring the program up, It has import options for the files you wish to encode. One of the options is to import a PPro sequence. However, when searching the system for Sequences, I could only figure out how to get to the Pproj files.
Documentation appears to indicate the Pproj files are compatible with Media Encoder. However, when I droped in the Pproj file from Premiere Pro CS3, I got a message that it was not a compatible file (message text may not have been that exact statement).
This is why I was curious to see if there is a version compatibility issue, or if someone can tell me how to other render out of Premiere CS3 into the Media Encoder version that comes with CS4 suites.

Setup.exe fails, folder " "does not contain a valid media info file 'mediainfo.xml'"

I'm trying to run the SQL Server R2 setup.exe, and all I get is a command window popping up briefly, then nothing.
This actually affects all SQL Installers that I have on my machine:
2008R2
2012
SSDT BI Pack for VS2012
If I run the setup.exe from the command line, I get this:

I've checked 1000 times that the folder DOES contain a mediainfo.xml file:

I've seen a few suggestions elsewhere in search results, but nothing has worked so far.
I've previously run the 2008R2 installer and the 2012 installer without problems, so I'm not sure what has changed, or how to get round it.
I'm running on Windows 7 Enterprise SP1, 64 bit with up-to-date Windows Updates.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Unable to import aaf files project to AE CS6?!

I am facing problem with importing aaf file projects, AE refuse to open any aaf files ?

There are a bout a dozen possible sources for aaf files. What is your system? What kind of files are you trying to import? Where did they come from? I'm not having any issues in my workflow. Have you seen this video? It shows the process in CS6.

You are in the wrong forum if you are making a brochure, and you are not saying what version of Photoshop Elements that you are using.
You can repost your thread in the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum or wait for a moderator here to see your thread here and then move it from here to there.
While we are waiting for those decisions, here is something you to think about
1. Assuming Photoshop Elements 11 Windows.....
You should be able to click your sized down photo on screen to get a bounding box around it for additional resizing. And, if you click on the Layer for this photo in the Layers Palette, you should be able to see the photo's bounding box on screen.
Either one of those happening?
With the Move Tool selected, look to the bottom of the workspace where the Move Tool options are shown. Do you have a check mark next to "Auto Select Layer"? Check what is happening with and without the check mark there. Remember Move Tool is selected in this example.

After Effects CS6: Cache and Reload Footage Problem
I am having trouble getting my footage to update in an AE project.
In an existing project, there is an image sequence in a composition. I have saved and closed AE, modified the footage (same dimensions and qty. of frames, only the pixel data changes), and then re-launched AE and opened the project. Though I have changed the footage, the old content still appears.
To resolve this, I have done the following:
Edit>Purge>All Memory
Edit>Purge>Image Cache Memory
Edit>Preferences>Media & Disk Cache>Empty Disk Cache
Edit>Preferences>Media & Disk Cache>Clean Database & Cache
From the Project window I've selected all footage and selected Reload
None of these got the footage to update. I could double-click on the footage in the project bin and scrub the play head and the old footage was still displayed.
Finally I had to replace the footage with itself and that resolved the issue.
If this is operator error, lack of understanding the cache functions, or something else, I'd appreciate some assistance. I don't recall this behavior in CS 5.5, so I am guessing this is a change in CS 6.

about Illustrator and Photoshop files in CS6 especially - you should work with Ctrl/Cmd+E (Edit Original).
when in Ae and you want to change a source file, use this command on one of the layers
from the source file you wish to change (doesn't matter if its in the timeline or project window) and
your original software linked to that file will open.
when you work this way you make AE reload that file and any change after that will be seen back in AE immediately.
it is also very convenient way to work because there can be no confusion on which file you are on
if you work with multiple source files for example.
even if you made the change with your Photoshop/Illustrator opened file and got back to Ae
and didn't see any change - press on one of the layers Ctrl/Cmd+E and this will refresh it immediately.
This is the case in CS6.
in CC I have noticed that any change I make is refreshed immediately in Ae as if it rechecks the changes all the time,
and didn't even need to use Ctrl/Cmd+E but it's a good habit all the same.
didn't come across a case where that didn't work for be but
if all fails you could always change the folder location of the file, let Ae lose it, then replace footage of the file,
and thus let Ae re-link it back.

Persistent Premiere Pro CC 2014 error message: "This project contains a sequence that could not be opened..."

I've been working on a project and everything was working fine. I close the program and reopened it an hour later. Now, I keep getting this error message: "This project contains a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type."
I attempted to use one of the Adobe suggested solutions... opening a new project, clicking on the "Help" Tab and deactivating, but the tab doesn't have that option. I'm also a little afraid to uninstall and re-install premiere pro, the other suggestion, because I'm worried about losing my files.
I would be grateful if anyone could help me.

Fail to start project

When I click start to run the project, there is a error message:

I have just reloaded my machine from scratch. I've only installed Office 2013, SQL Server 2012, Visual Studio 2012, the latest SQL Server Data Tools and the latest SQL Server Data Tools for BI. And after wasting an entire day I get exactly the same error.
Here are the steps to reproduce...
1) Take one HP machine with Intel i3 processor and 8GB ram
2) Install Windows 8.1 64bit and then full Windows Update for all products, restart
3) Install Windows 8.1 Update 1 then Windows Update all products, restart
4) Enable windows features - IIS, Hyper-V and .NET 3.5 and Windows Update all products, restart
5) Install Office Pro 2013 32bit
6) Install Visio 2013 32bit and then Windows Update all products, restart
7) Install SQL 2012 Developer 64bit with all options except Data Tools, update, restart
8) Install Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate with all options except Data Tools, update, restart
9) Install SQL Server Data Tools 11.1.40403.0 EN
10) Install SQL Server Data Tools for BI VS2012 x86
11) Install SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 2
12) One final Windows Update with Microsoft Products and then a restart
13) Unlucky 13, the SSIS packages open in the editor but trying to execute gives the error described here

Hello everybody.
I have a problem with my premiere C6. Whenever I tried to open a specific project (the one I am working on), the follow message pops up and I cannot access the project. Even when I open premiere and "open recent"
Here's the message:
"This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type."
I don't know what to do. One day everything is fine, the next one I can't work.

I've only recently updated to Premiere Pro CC and had a similar issue.
When opening a CS6 file in CC2014, I received this alert:
"The preset used by one or more sequences in this project requires third-party components that could not be located. These sequences will be modified to use a custom setting instead..."
The file would open and I was able to make changes and even save seemingly without any issues. However, when I attempted to open the file again, I was given the alert that you posted here:
"This Project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type."
The problem seemed to originate when a "custom setting" was generated for CC2014 to open the project.
What I did to fix the issue was AS SOON AS I OPENED the older version in Premiere CC, I would immediately go to the Sequence Settings for EVERY sequence in the file and create my own custom settings based on my project. Once that was done, I could begin working on the project and it would save and open without issue. This only needs to be done the first time you open an older version of your project before making any changes or saving the file.
I discovered that the "Custom Setting" that is originally generated when converting the older version to the new, created a funky "Video Preview" size of 16x16 pixels. Once I put all the settings in order, Premiere CC was happy again.
Still haven't figured out a fix for the random crash during operation and the almost guaranteed crash when quitting Premiere from the top menu bar.
PS Mark Mapes, I did try the fixed that you linked to in your post but they did not do the trick for me. Is there any updated you know of on the horizon? Thanks.

Avid AAF into Premiere works until "This project contained a sequence that could not be opened."

I'm exporting an audio timeline from Avid to an AAF. I chose to copy and convert all the audio media into .WAV files, to place on a new harddrive and to provide a readable format for Premiere/Audition; (I read that Audition doesn't import AAF, but Premiere does, and can transfer to Audition.)
Importing this AAF into premiere seems to work - it apparently links to the media and uses the AAF edl to create a new sequence, but before the import is successful I get the error message:
"Fire Import Failure
C:\[path]\PicLockAvidAudioTimelineExport.prproj
Error Message
This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type."
What I don't understand is that this apparently refers to a premiere project sequence - prproj. Why is Premiere having trouble importing an AAF created from Avid?
Using Premiere at school, I can import the AAF just fine. I'm using Premiere CS5 at home.

Has anyone successfully used autotype on xsd files that contain imports?

import a schema with the same targetNamespace as your own. I've
corrected your test case and attached the files that illustrate how
autotype handles imports.

If you have a support contract with Orcale you can find out hoe to fix this error by checking out Knowledge Article 1038072.1 How to troubleshoot "atg.workflow.WorkflowException: The inner project was not created. Check that your project workflow has been initialized by the workflow engine."
The article says you should:
1.
delete from epub_wf_server_id
delete from epub_coll_workflow
delete from epub_workflow_info
restart server and retest
2. If problem exists check that you have configured the Workflow Process Editor Server correctly.
The problem is that probably the workflow has not been not been initialized correctly by the Workflow Editor Server.
