AE CS6 keeps crashing StateBinaryConverter

The full error message is:
After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <9808> <StateBinaryConverter> <5> solveCompleteB = 1
I had just finished drawing a mask on an adjustment layer, then move the current time indicator to a different frame, and it crashed, giving me "one last chance to save the project".
So I did save it, and now I get this error every time I try to open the project.
Any idea what the problem is?
Thanks,
Antony

So the error message doesn't explain the error itself?
When I used to be a software developer, my programs' error codes used to identify what the problem was.
OK then...
System:
Mobo: Asus P9X79 Pro
Processor: Intel Core i7 3930K
GPU: GTX570
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 32GB (8 x 4GB) 1866
Boot drive: Samsung 256GB 830 SSD SATA 6GBPS 2.5 inch
Cooling: RTS2011LC
OS: Windows 7-64 bit
AE CS6 v 11.0.2.12
Project:
Red R3D footage
Originally edited in Premiere CS6, then imported into AE CS6.
Was working OK until yesterday's changes, which were to pre-comp a short clip.
In the pre-comp add an Adjustment Layer.
Add a mask to this layer, keyframe Mask Shape
Add Curves to Adjustment Layer
Then change the frame that the current time indicator is on.
Crash!

Photoshop CS6 keeps crashing. I am using a brand new IMAC, I have 16GB RAM recently updated as it was running slow with 8GB and lots of hardrive space. When it crashes, i lose all my presents and it changes my preferences, it also fails to save or produce a recovered file despite settings asking it to do so every 5 mins now. When i try to report the problem, it says it has found an issue and gives me a link to a solution....but wont let me click on the link.... PLEASE HELP! It's killing my productivity.

If the crash started right after you added RAM, it could be a bad Ram dimm. You can try this - change the amount of RAM in Photoshop to 4G, this should stop Photoshop from using the higher ram. If it doesn't crash, it's probably the ram. Or run a diagnostic app. You don't say when it crashes, what you're doing when it crashes - it there a pattern? Did it ever work on this computer? Did it work on your previous computer? Without a lot of data, it could be related to the new computer... What OS version? Did you recently update it? Have you updated Photoshop to the most recent update?
Do you have any plug-ins loaded? Try restarting Photoshop, and immediately press & hold the shfit key to turn off plug-ins.

  • Ps cs6 keeps crashing on Vaio z

    Hi,
Both the beta and now the retail version of photoshop cs6 keeps crashing on my vaio z (VPCZ23Z9E).
I have tried countless reinstalls and both cs5 and cs5,5 works just fine. I suspects its the graphic driver for the external graphic crad (located in the dock).
Unfortunately - that driver is a custom sony one and no other is available.
    Here is my system log:

I found some crash-files inside my appdata temp folder named "Crash_2012-05-14_10-49-43_Photoshop.txt" and "Crash_2012-05-14_11-59-36_sniffer.txt". Inside the "sniffer" files there is just a "1" and inside the "photoshop" one there is:
    " 1
    GetImageViewResourceSharingGLContext"
    Hope someone can help
    Thanks in advance

The only optioins that I see are going with a version of Photoshop, that did not interface so closely with the video driver - not the easiest thing to do, as older versions are just not likely to be sold from a legit reseller; go with a different computer, and one that is much more capable of running PS CS 6; waiting for Sony to do something.
Such laptops are fine for general computing (Sony's target audience), such as word processing, e-mail, Web browsing and some spreadsheet work. They are not, however, suitable for intense graphic work (not Sony's target audience).
A stock Fiat 500 is probably a good vehicle for day-to-day urban commuting, but would be ill-suited at Le Mans. With PS CS 6, and the need to interface so deeply with the video driver, the stakes have been increased, and by quite a bit. Were you trying to edit video with Adobe Premiere Pro CS 6, you would be even farther behind the curve.
Did you explore the laptop video driver Web site, linked above? However, with the dual card setup in that Sony, I rather doubt that it would be of much use - that docking station will likely negate using the "roll-your-own" video driver. Some of the same issues can arise with laptops that have both an nVidia, or AMD/ATI chip, PLUS an embedded Intel HD graphics chip, and automatically switch between those. Turning OFF the embedded Intel is often the only way to get some graphics intense programs to run.
Sorry for the bad news, though maybe a Sony guru will have some workaround for you.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Bridge CS6 keeps crashing on my macbook pro

I have been getting help from adobe support all day regarding this problem. Bride CS6 keeps crashing as soon as I open it....It worked perfectly up until this afternoon. I have latest OS X update, I uninstalled and reinstalled it. I also cleared the cache, and disabled startup scripts..nothing seems to be working..I can have it open maybe 10 seconds before it crashes. I am in the middle of editing wedding photos, and I am beyond frustrated that I am unable to work in Bridge. Someone that had similar problems, any suggestions?

I have the same problem with the Bridge on my MBPr, please let me now here if you have solved the problem. I cannot even open Camera RAW from Bridge. It crashes as well after my trying to open Camera RAW from Bridge. This problem occurred since last update I think.

  • Photoshop CS6 keeps crashing when I try and change brush colour

Hi, my Photoshop CS6 keeps crashing when I try and change brush colour. I use layer masks a lot and consequently need to switch between black and white brushes. CS6 crashes a lot and gets closed by Windows 7 when I either click in the icon to swap brush colour or press the X keyboard shortcut. It's driving me crazy. I run Windows 7 on a high spec Dell PC. The problem has only started a couple of months ago, had CS6 since it came out. Can I advise me please? Thanks.

  • SpeedGrade CS6 keeps crashing on render

I have a Macbook Pro with 2.6 GHz i7 with 16 gb of ram updated to the latest OS X (10.8.5)
SpeedGrade CS6 keeps crashing on rendering.  I have selected a couple of output options (h.264, ProRes, and uncompressed), but none work.  I believe I have the latest update to the software (I believe 6.0.4), and I don't know if this has anything to do with the OS or the program itself.
Is anyone else experiencing this? I have checked the forums, but they haven't really helped that much for me.
EDIT:  To add further, I have restarted my computer and I have rendered video successfully in the past.  This just started happening today.

    W7 Ult x64, AMD Phenom X6 3.3GHz, 16gigs of RAM, GTX 550 Ti
I'm rendering WMVs. I am not running out of disk space. I have tired various clips to render with (I'm assuming source files are the files I edit to render). What are comp settings?
My settings have worked in the past, but not after my most recent format. Settings: http://imgur.com/a/0yDsF

  • Adobe InDesign CS5.5 and CS6 keep crashing

InDesign CS5.5 and CS6 keeps crashing while working on the documents. It's hard to identify the patteren when it's crashes. I deleted the SING/DataStore. Used FontNuke to clear all font caches but none of those helps. CS 5.5 and CS6 are installed on different macs but both crash.
    CS5.5 crash data: http://pastebin.com/5PAx08tc
    CS6 crash data:  http://pastebin.com/dZP09DwP
    Thanks in advance.

I'm not an expert in reading crash reports, though I do recognze a few of the more common ones (which this is not).  You read them from the top down, so the fisrt line in the crashed thread is the last thing it was doing before the crash. In the case of the CS6 crash you posted, the fisrts 8 lines of thread 0 are Apple code calls, and the last thing that was happening in ID had to do withteh Object Widget Library (I think that's what OWL stands for).
John Hawkinson is our real expert in this, but he doesn't come around this forum that much these days. You can gain some insight into reading the reports at Guide to Interpreting InDesign Crash Reports | InDesignSecrets

  • Premiere Pro CC/CS6 keeps crashing

    Problem:
Adobe Premiere Pro Creative Cloud version (CS6) keeps crashing on the follwing system:
MacBook Pro 15" Retina Early 2013
    2.7 Ghz i7
    16 GB
    Intel 4000 512MB
    500GB SSD
    OS X 10.8.4
The problem occured 10 times today in different ways:
-program freeze followed by entire system freeze (forced shutdown neccesary)
-abrupt shut down of program (see photo)
-abrupt shut down of entire Laptop (see photo)
The photos and video files are pretty small and should not be a problem for the hardware when loaded and edited in Adobe Premiere. Especially in Photoshop large files ( e.g. medium format photos) show a much bigger performance peak when beeing edited in comparison to this tiny sequence in Premiere.
Anybody has the same problem or knows a solution? This has happened to me severals times already but seems to be happening more often when photos instead of videos are in the timeline.

If you want help diagnosing and resolving this, you need to provide information: FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?

  • CS6 keeps crashing.  Film Festival doco due in 1 week.  Help!

CS6 keeps crashing.  Worked fine for a year. It's unlinking files - in fact unlinked the entire timeline for a documentary due to show at a film festival in one week.  Help!  We transferred all the files to a new computer with a new drive and new version of premiere, but it still keeps crashing..  It's telling us "Sorry a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down.  We will attempt to save your current project." Then it tells us "Adobe Premiere has stopped working.  Cose the program and check for a solution online."
We're thinking that we have a corrupt fil, but how do we identify a corrupt file?

If this is Windows (the information you should provide http://forums.adobe.com/message/4200840 when asking a question) you MAY have an outdated graphics adapter driver due to a Windows update that has changed "something" in one or more DLL files
As well as the information in the link I provided, what is your brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???) and the driver version?

  • My Illustrator cs6 keeps crashing.  I want to reinstall it but I do not have the serial number anymore What do I do?

My Illustrator cs6 keeps crashing.  I want to reinstall it but I do not have the serial number anymore What do I do?

    z,
You have registered the serial number in connexion with activating the software, so you should be able to find it here (if you still have the same Adobe ID):
    https://www.adobe.com/account/my-products-services.html
If not, you should be able to get it on either of these pages:
Serial number and activation support (non-CC, chat open between 5AM and 7PM PST/PDT on workdays)

Try trashing the prefs (see Replace Your Preferences ) and empty the InDesign Recovery folder (it's inthe same Caches folder as InDesign SavedData).

  • Premiere CS6 keeps crashing during render

    Hey everyone,
I'm currently editing a feature film and is the first time I've edited with Premiere with this amount of clips, going into the thousands. Thus far though, everything was going fine until today when I needed to combine reels to come out with my first rough cut of the film.  From the beginning, I would edit in 3-8 minute sequences to start and by the end of the process, I'd combine them altogether when I needed to make a full length cut for review. For this first cut, it keeps crashing when I try to render more than a few minutes of footage on the full feature timeline and it's running up against a deadline I set.
I shot the majority of the movie, about 95% with the Black Magic Camera and the files were Prores files. There's a few sequences I shot with the Red Epic and they've been on separate 4k timelines. When combining together, i resized them to fit a 1080p output at H.264.
    Computer specs:
    Adobe Premiere Pro CS6
    Mac OS X
    Version 10.7.5
Processor: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
I know I'm working with aton of files and it could get sticky but even wtih all previous sequences rendered prior to combining them, the system is not cooperating. Even if I'm not rendering, moving the playhead around different clips often ends up summoning the pinwheel of death. Any help please?

    Maybe this will help you?
You're using not using CC but I can imagine it works the same on CS6
Prevent crash on export with Premiere Pro CC & Adobe Media Encoder CC
