AE CS6 Lagging issues

I have a brand new Mac Pro 2x2.4 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon, 12GB 1333 MHz DDR3. AE CS6, with the latest update, is installed. When working in AE I experience hectic problems with the live update as every action I perform lags (e.g. when I move an object to the right, it lags and barely moves the object at all). To test whether it is a problem with my computer, we installed the trial version of AE CS6 on another brand new iMac and this  lagged as well. So much so that it is impossible to work. Any ideas as to what this problem may be?

Mine is lagging too. Badly. I'm not even talking playback performance, but the simple act of clicking on a layer or switching tools. It is a nightmare. I am working on a fairly complex 2k project, but it is just brutally unresponsive often causing me to double, triple click items thinking it's not working when the reality is it's just taking long pauses.
I'm using a mac pro (older unfrotunately, 2008, but pretty spec'd out). 2x3GHz quad core Xeon, 32 Gig mem (667MHz), Nvidia GeForce GTX 285 1024mb, running OS X 10.8.4.
Project and footage is on a 8 bay raid. Disk cache is enabled to a seperate drive inside my machine (not system drive). 8 gigs ram reserved for other apps. Multi frame processing is turned off as it seemed to make things worse.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Hi, my photoshop CS6 lags tremendously.

I've been looking into fixes for the last hour and a half or so. Photoshop opens for me, and then it lags. When I try to draw there is a 3-8 second lag whether it's with the brush tool, lasso tool, etc. I can't use the program as it is and I really need it fixed. I 've tried the whole turning off/on the graphics processor thing, and the advanced settings, and other common fixes I saw for this issue when I searched it, but nothing has worked. I need this fixed please.... I don't know computer terms SUPER well.
    Thanks

ADOBE seems unable to solve this problem until today, this problem has been going on for years.
You goto SEARCH in this forum, type in "CS6 lag" and you can start enjoy reading the large amount of user complaints......eventually without any solutions.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 Lags as I Type

Dreamweaver CS6 lags as I type in the code editor.  It's like the program can't keep up with me as I type.  I've reopened the program several times and I still am experiencing the same behavior.  Additionally, when I switch between windows, I get the spinnning beach ball almost every time.  Anyone else experiencing this?
I am running Mac OS X 10.7.4 on a 3.4GHz Core i7 iMac with 16GB of RAM and an SSD.

    Hello All,
High CPU usage in Code view issue has been resolved for Mac and the new build 12.0.3 is available for update for Non-Creative Cloud Members too. Please update to the latest build.
In Dreamweaver use menu 'Help' > Updates to get the latest build 12.0.3
The above update is available for both Windows and Mac.
Off topic: Creative Cloud users too have an update 12.1.1 to continue using Phone Gap from DW.

  • Photoshop CC2014 drawing lag issues...

Every since the big updates of 2014 (CC, Yosemite), and the ensuing debacle of hardware/software issues, I finally have things working again.  Except for one little caveat:
Everytime I restart Photoshop (every morning for the most part), if I don't go into the Library and delete the Settings in the Settings folder, I have to deal with an annoying lay in the drawing.  Also, after a few hours of drawing, same thing.
It's as if it's bogged down, and refreshing is a beat or two behind.  Just a split second, but more than enough to deem everything unworkable.
To remedy this, I shut down Photoshope, and delete the settings in the PS settings folder in the Library.  Thus, in addition to all my prefs being cleared out and reset, and am warmly greeted by the "Welcome to Photoshop!  Would you like a tutorial?" screen.  Brushes, everything, all back to square one.
Very annoying, but I can't seem to find any other solution.
Keep in mind, everything worked great until the last updates.
Have uninstalled and reinstalled all software.
Using a late 2013 13" Macbook pro, 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB 1600 mHz DDR3, Graphics: Intel Iris 1536 MB.  Plus, I alternate between the Wacom Cintiq 13HD and the Cintiq 22HD.
    Any insight or solutions?
    Thanks!

Just in case anyone sees this post, it appears as if the problem lies with the Rulers.  I've only been testing for few hours now, but it seems that turing the Rulers off solves the lag issue!  Huh!

  • A New but Persistent Lag issue in FCP6 and OS X 10.5

I have Final Cut Studio 2 installed on an iMac 2.8Ghz (Intel) and a MacBook Pro 2.33 (1st Gen Intel). I have successfully run FCP6 on both these computer for 2 years on projects ranging from SD to Uncompressed HD. I have never had a lag issue. But recently I have had an agonizing time working on two DV-NTSC Anamorphic projects shot and captured on a Canon XL2. I also use WD My Book Drives for capture. Say what you will about the WDs but I have never had an issue until the recently (past 3 months).
On the two separate projects I had trouble capturing straight to the WD drives. This is new issue I have never had previously. Once I disconnected the Firewire I capture straight to the drive with no issues. But once I placed the footage into the sequence timeline and played through it at random time the video will lag and then come back. I shuttle back over the same spot and there is no problem. Continue to play through it and same lag issue intermittently though the entire sequence.
I have tried all the basics: Changing the RT mode, having only one sequence open, playback quality...
This issue occurs on both machines.
    I am stuck. Any suggestions?

Please keep all posts that are related to a particular problem together in one thread. Starting a new thread just confuses the issue.

  • 64-bit Illustrator CS6 Print Issue

I'm having a major lag issue when printing directly from 64-bit Illustrator on Windows 7. When I try to print, the program locks up for 30 seconds before sending the print job. Not to mention that once the file does print the fonts get messed up as well. If I switch over to 32-bit Illustrator and print the same file, it's instant and everything is fine!
Any ideas? The printer is HP Color LaserJet CP4520 Series PCL6, and I'm pretty sure the drivers are up-to-date, but I'm printing over a network and HP support is a bit confusing.

After looking at some brief product copy from HP; it appears the driver supports 64-bit and works with Windows7.  The lag and font corruption could be a network problem, perhaps how the code is interpreted and stored en route to its destination.  You've stumped me.

  • Flash Player Projector Lag Issues, but...

    Hello,
I want to playback this online flash game through the projector :http://www.realmofthemadgod.com/
usually I play this game directly in the internet browser (firefox). But now I would like to play it directly through the Projector in the hope the game performance (frames per seconds) would increase, so the gameplay it smoother.
I have searched for the .swf url of the game, it's this one: http://www.realmofthemadgod.com/AGCLoader1322454158.swf
I loaded this url through the Flash Projector, everything works fine. But the problem is, that the flash game is running even slower than through the internet browser. The Flash Projector causes the game to lag, and the frames per second lies around ~30.
Now the strange thing is, while still running the game through the projector, i simultaneously run the game aswell in the internet browser. The strange result: Suddenly the game performance of the game in the Projector increases alot and the fps jump to 60! The game runs very smooth this way. But as soon as I close the Internet Browser, the game performance in the flash projector falls down again and is pretty laggy.
Normally, you would think that running the game in windows would of course slow the game performance down...
Also, I tried another way to run this game directly through the adobe flash player (wihtout internet browser). Therefore, I copyed and paste the .swf of the game above to this site (http://www.swf-to-exe.com/). Running the game through this exe file brings the best results: The game runs very very smooth, like i hoped to be. The problem is, the devleopers updated the game, so somehow it's not possible anymore to convert the .swe to exe through www.swf-to-exe.com.
So this is a strange issue, I dont know if its the fault of the game or the fault of the adobe flash preojector.
I hope someone got an idea to solve this problem, so the lag issues can be removed (without running the game in 2 windows simultaneously).
    Thanks in Advance!

DSOUND.dll would not be missing in a way that installing directx would resolve it.
and it is not included in any bimonthly redistributables either.
That said, Windows Server DOES have dsound.dll available, the only things disabled on this platform is directx acceleration for graphics.......

  • Photoshop CS6 lagging

I have a user that started having trouble with Photoshop CS6 lagging a week or two ago. Everything was fine before that. She reports that all the other adobe apps are working fine. The machine has been used for a couple of years now with no trouble and has a SSD. What possible solutions are there for this?
    Thanks,
    Justin

It could be a driver, a corrupt font, a corrupt OS font cache, another application (like antivirus, firewalls, or just about anything - even Chrome has caused problems at some points).
Most people are not seeing any such lag, so it is most likely something that changed on your specific system.

  • SERIOUS lag issues with Intel iMac

    Hello everyone,
I'm pretty frustrated right now. I've been having this serious lag issue with my new iMac for the past few days. I think it may have started after I ran the last security update.
    What happens:
When switching between apps, the system will hang for 1-3 seconds between doing anything. This includes typing, mouse requests, etc. It's VERY frustrating. I have activity monitor open currently, and I am seeing both Safari and SystemUIServer hogging up the CPU resources like CRAZY. I've even seen Safari recently give a CPU usage of 120%, right before I loaded this webpage. tis isn't just centralized to Safari too.... I have the following apps running:
    Adium 0.89.1
    FoireFox 1.5.0.8
    Safari
    Activity Monitor
    My Memory stats currently are:
    175MB Wired
    708MB Active
    618MB Inactive
    1.47GB Used
There should be no reason I'm getting these lags with just two web browsers and a chat client open.
Has anyone else expierenced the lags?? Any suggestions? I'm almost ready to reinstall OS X and not run the last security update. Thanks

    Hello Matthew
Are you running any maintenance scripts on a regular basis?
    http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/maintscripts.html
I would manually run this script from The X Lab, and my load times would improve greatly. The problem was, I would forget to run them untill I noticed web pages loading slow or iTunes and iPhoto taking for ever. It wasn't untill someone here in discussions suggested Anacron that I saw the light. WOW what a difference Anacron has been making in my overall system speed. My iMac has not been shutdown for 11days 5hrs 34mins (sleep or use only) and opening new App's, switching App's and web pages load as fast or faster than after a fresh start up. If your system is operating properly and you are having only what seems to be a slow or sluggish issue Anacron will make a difference.

  • Slow MacBook Pro with frame lag issues

    Hi,
When I switched on my MacBook Pro (mid 2010) today it was very, very slow booting and very slow in OSX (Mounatin Lion, 10.8.4)
The activity monitor showed that the CPU-usage constantly was around 50% for a couple of minutes but then went down to 1 - 10 and I couldn't see any specific app that ate all the CPU-usage. Same thing with the disk activity. The memory used 2 GB after boot.
However, after the CPU-usage, the disk activity and the memory "cooled off" the computer was still slow and laggy. With laggy I mean that I had frame lag issues playing videos from internet or DVDs or when I used the mission control or scrolled down a website. Kind of like when drivers for a graphic card aren't installed on a PC.
I can't remember I did anything out of the ordinary before this happened, except installing a few apps that I've now removed.
I've run the Apple Hardwaretest, repaired the file system with both Disk Utility and fsck and I've also checked these: http://osxdaily.com/2012/10/11/mac-running-slow-reasons/
I'm thinking about buying an SSD disk (already have 8 GB memory) or wipe everything clean and install fresh. You think that would help? I'd rather see another solution to this problem because the computer has worked flawlessly before all this happened.
    Best regards
    /Axel

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
Triple-click the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}' | open -ef
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Then click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). A TextEdit window will open with the output of the command. If the command produced no output, the window will be empty. Post the contents of the TextEdit window (not the Terminal window), if any — the text, please, not a screenshot. You can then close the TextEdit window. The title of the window doesn't matter, and you don't need to post that. No typing is involved in this step.
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    { sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix\.cron)|org\.(amav|apac|cups|isc|ntp|postf|x)/{print $3}'; echo; sudo defaults read com.apple.loginwindow LoginHook; echo; sudo crontab -l; } 2> /dev/null | open -ef
This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Heed that warning, but don't post it. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
    Step 3
    { launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}'; echo; crontab -l 2> /dev/null; } | open -ef
    Step 4
    ls -A /e*/{cr,la,mach}* {,/}Lib*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts .la* 2> /dev/null | open -ef
Important: If you formerly synchronized with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, anonymize it before posting.
    Step 5
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of login items' | open -ef
Remember, steps 1-5 are all copy-and-paste — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
    You can then quit Terminal.

  • (CS3) Lag issue on Vista

    Hi,
I've just installed a fresh copy of Windows Vista Business last night. After installing Photoshop CS3 however, I noticed a very serious lag issue. I looked into the problem a bit on google and this forum but did not reach a solution.
In general, the issues are as follows:
    1. Opening and closing even the smallest of files takes a ridiculous amount of time.
    2. Moving the mouse cursor over the toolbar or menubar requires up to 3 seconds before a response is received.
    3. Right click menu requires up to 3 seconds to appear
    4. Application of any tools shows a noticeable delay of action.
The most common suggestion is the "Network Printer" solution, which was not helpful to everyone including me. I also tried to change the performance settings and the cache level according to the optimization guide on this site, that also did not solve the problem.
I tried to run the software in XP pro SP2 compatibility mode, did not make a difference in performance. Disabling all the graphic options for Vista such as Aero Experience also was useless.
I'm just wondering as to whether we ever did reach a solution to resolve the issue or is this problem still left hanging?
CS3 ran fine before my upgrade from XP Pro SP2, I do not believe my hardware specs have anything to do with the lag issue. Yet, I'll leave it below just in case you guys need it as reference...
    Acer Aspire 5672:
    Windows Vista Business Edition
    Centrino DuoCore 1.66GHz T2300
    2GB 667MHz RAM (1GB x 2)
    ATI Radeon X1600
    120GB Hard-drive

    Bob:
I've stated the Network Printer did not apply to me,
    thanks a lot still.
    ID.Awe
    - I do not have any MS mouse/keyboard software installed
    - all auto updaters I can think of are turned off
    - I actually have NO anti-virus installed whatsoever XD
    - and indexing was stopped before I made this post
    The strange thing is....
I went to sleep and left my computer on for the night,
when I woke up, the lag issue was simply gone....
I've restarted my computer and tried running all the usual softwares I have running, CS3 still seem to be stable.
Thanks for everyone's help, I will come back if the problem persists in the future.
    Regards

  • Safari 5.1.5 in Lion 10.7.3 Lag Issues

    Hello everyone,
Is anyone else having terrible hanging/lag issues using Safari 5.1.5?
I've used Disk Utility however to no avail. I have never seen the beachball so much
with Safari! Having to Force Quit Safari as it won't respond at times. Pages load so slowly it's ridiculous! I have never seen it this bad, in fact, it's gotten so bad that I am going to use Firefox 11 until these Safari issues are resolved which I believe is an Apple issue.
    Kim

Hi, same thing with me. Lion 10.7.3, Safari 5.1.5.
After reading a few posts, I just downloaded the whole thing again from the Apple site.  No more problems.
    Try it and see.

the lag issue on ipad mini is just because as it was updated to ios7 the ram availability on free ram has been to <150 mb which is over 220 for ios6 already mini is having very less 500mb so apple techies just work on it and make the ram availability as soon as possible because not only the games like temple run and others but also the interface is lagging.the multitasking is of no use because of it simply minimising one app and opening it within the seconds closing the app running and making it start again .so guys support this thread so that we will get an update asas.

  • 4.2.1's lag issue on iPhone 4

    Hi there,
I just update to iOS 4.2.1 few days ago, well, the new features were just work fine, but I found a lag problem with my iPhone4, yes, it was LAG!
    here are some cases:
    1. lag when scrolling(such as in address book or other pages with long contents)
    2. lag when opening a folder or closing a folder
    3. pressing HOME, the zoom out animation sometimes lag
    4. pressing APPs, the zoom in animation maybe lag
    5. double pressing HOME, the animation maybe lag,,,,
the issue seems just like a computer in high CPU usage or with low memory, and sometimes it made me a little bit freak out....
after I cleared all the histories and cookies and caches and closed all background APPs, the issue remained,,,
there was no problem when my iPhone 4 was iOS 4.1 and previous versions.
and my iOS 4.2.1 works fine inside the APPs,,,
I wonder if any other users got such lag issue, or it was just something wrong with my iPhone,,,,
    please help me, thanks!

Yet another troll tactic to tell anyone refuting their undocumented claims to leave the thread. You have no say who posts here, and i have no interest whether you respond.
I follow the 4.3 beta Dev forums and this is not a topic being discussed there. Instead of vague, claims about what anonymous "colleagues" said, why don't you post the Apple bug report number, attached to all bugs under investigation.
While you're at it, why don't you post a link to another significant thread in this or any other forum on the topic, instead of lame, a-h remarks.
