AE Dropping all connections randomly and then rebooting.

The problem I am having is my Airport Express will randomly drop all incoming and outgoing connections. This usually happens when I am running AirPlay via my AppleTV and using the internet at the same time. I only have a 1Mbs/s speed. I was watching American Gangster yesterday and redownloading my music on itunes, and suddenly it drops and gives the "You need to be connected to home sharing" then it switches and says I am not longer connected to the internet, then a few moments later it connected again. This IS the AE right? It has to be if the internet is cutting out as well, it wouldn't be just the Mac's Airport card. Should I just get it replaced?

Lately my magic mouse has been losing its connection quite randomly. It usually reconnects soon after. I bought a cheap USB mouse to keep me going during these unexpected down-times. The batteries are fresh and the switch is on. I've uninstalled and re-installed the mouse in Bluetooth, but the problem recurs.

Try a PRAM reset. That usually helps bluetooth problems.

BT Homehub 2.0 Dropping all connections. Wired and...

Hi All
I recently joined BT a couple of months ago after being with Virgin. I was very happy with the speeds up the service to begin. Then the homehub started dropping all connections, both wireless and wired. This would happen about once or twice per day and the only way to get the connections back would be to power off the homehub. The lights remained all blue and there was no apparently connection issues after ringing through to support. After a few calls to BT they agreed that the router was faulty.
I then received a replacement hub, and after connecting it, I found that it was even worse. It lost all connections about every 20 minutes to the point where I had to hook up the one I was about to return to BT.
I have read similar threads, but nothing has been able to solve my problem. I have checked the channels and tried changing them, although I was the only router on a particular channel to begin with.
I am about to ring up BT tomorrow to request yet another homehub. Before I do I was hoping that someone would be able to help. In the entire time I was with Virgin for 2 years, I think I lost connection maybe 2 or 3 times over 2 years with their supplied netgear router. This is why I really feel the fault is with the router and not the line. I am not against just buying a new router, so any suggestions that people have used with BT would also help.

Is it better for your battery if you let it run down all the way and then charge it? Or to charge it whenever you have the opportunity? Which is better for the life of the battery?

I've had a iPhone 4s since March 2012, and it's battery is pretty useless now. I was using the app Battery Doctor (Battery Saver, Battery Life) by Beijing Kingsoft Internet Security software, which encourages the user to charge more often, whenever battery life drops below 100% full and greater than 20% full, and gives ratings according to the number of full, partial & overcharges done, but I'm concerned that charging like that actually results in worse battery life??
I now have an new iPhone 5 and don't want the battery to only last as short as the last one did

Random and frequent reboots

Hi, I pre-ordered a N900 two months ago. I finally got it yesterday, and since then I've been experiencing random and frequent reboots of the device. I don't have to do anything fancy, it simply reboots from time to time without warning. It's a real pain.
This is being discuss in the maemo website [1] and there's two bugs [2] & [3] open on this issue. I'd like to know if I should return the device as many are doing or if I should wait for a prompt firmware upgrade. I don't want to wait another two months for a replacement (I think the supplies are a bit short due to high demand) but I don't want to stick to a possible erratic hardware.
Please Nokia, give me some advice. Thanks.

I have N900 for almost a month, and rebooted me once. I started installing an application, canceled, when i tried to install it again rebooted. After reboot i tried to install same application, worked fine.
I'm using firmware version 1.2009.42-11 atm, works better with multitasking then previous version. Even with previous firmware, NEVER froze and rebooted once (i think thats pretty awsome for a brand new OS). It has amazing stability, and trust me, i use it A LOT, and 80% of the time i have it online.

Well, in his defense, his parents bought him the player so I guess we can't blame him. Though the 6 GB versions were available in November so I guess they really did get 'nervous' about Christmas and like to get their shopping done early! Kudo's to you for trying to remain with the Creative line but for what you're looking for it's obviously not the player for you. Creative seems to be fine-tuning their line for the audio crowd. I'm into mp3 players for the audio. Sure, the ability to watch video's and look at pictures on a decent screen is a plus but for me at least, it's all about the music. And with music, 6 GB is more than enough. Heck, 8 GB would have been more than enough for me. I'm a subscriber to Napster-to-go, so I don't feel the need to carry 00 plus GB of stuff on my portable player. I honestly don't understand the desire to watch movies or TV shows on tiny little screens. But you're also talking to a guy who doesn't watch television. What a complete waste of time and brain cells. Probably the **competitor products we can't discuss here** or one of those players would better suit your needs. Companies are definately picking their niche markets carefully and Creative's decision to not offer hard dri've players any more seems to definately be saying bye-bye to that market. I can't say I blame them. Hard dri'ves eventually give up the ghost and are quite delicate for people on the go. Good ridance, I say. Let Apple, Zune and all the others cater to the Z generation's need to be spoonfed their video/TV addictions anywhere and everywhere. I'll pass. It's one thing to be able to enjoy some music on the go and enhance an otherwise dull work day or dri've. But movies/TV shows at work, school, or wherever? Please. Cut the cord! Just my $.02 - YMMV! I have two drop downs. Both are coming from look up fields from two lists. i want to set a default value(first list item) for the first drop down list box and then apply cascading based on the default value for the next drop down list box. I found one article(http://www.bizsupportonline.net/infopath2010/display-first-item-drop-down-list-box-infopath-2010.htm)
where in i can set a default value but i can't apply cascading based on that default value. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

The format keeps changing but the basics remain...in the center of the screen are large images of the recent apps which you can close by swiping up and away.

Why does iTunes delete all my music and then re-download (not all of) it when I sync?

So, I plugged my phone into my PC, and it loaded on the iTunes screen. I then went into the device and removed a couple of playlists from the phone (it had run out of space). When I then hit sync, rather than just removing the playlists and syncing to update anything that needed updated, it bloody well deleted ALL my music and then started downloading it again. We are talking about around 30-50GB of music. Not only this, but it appears to NOT download all the tracks on my playlists so I'm left with half the music I should have.
I have had this happen before and last time it totally screwed up my phone leaving me with the only option of completely reinstalling iOS7. Has anyone else had this happen? Is it fixable? Not only this, but I am aware of "manage music manually" but have no idea where it is or how to activate it. I'm just bloody sick of apple! Why can't they get their **** together and fix these little bugs. I love their hardware but they clearly have too many ego driven tossers programming their software who don't think fixing issues is their problem!
Any help would be most appreciated as it's driving me up the bloody wall! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!

I'm not sure why this happens, but I found a workaround. Below the album title it will list the artist(s). The issue seems to happen when there are multiple artists. For example, an Album titled "Over the Sea to Skye" has The Chieftains and James Galway as artists. Some tracks (for whatever reason) will list only one of these and result in the playlist showing what appears to be multiple albums. You can click on the artists and it will highlight. Paste in what is appearing on the other "albums" and it will then show as one:

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
1. Right click images you want to share.
2. Select Export version.
3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.
See how you go.

I find it's touchy. Tap anywhere on the note to bring up the keyboard. If you tap and hold, you won't bring up the keyboard. Just tap momentarily.
If you can't get it to work, try restarting your iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears, then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If it still doesn't work, try resetting your iPad. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

I am going to have to agree with planb77. Look into other drivers in your computer causing the issue, not just the nano's drivers.
It is possible that security software is the culprit. Use this:
iTunes: Troubleshooting security software issues
You may have to restore your computer to a previous point. From before the issue started. Contact computer manufacture or Windows for steps, or do a search with a search engine.
I would test the ipod on a known good computer to see if its the ipod is the issue. My gut says no. You can set a reservation at an Apple Retail Store. Apple.com/retail .You can also test a known good ipod on your computer.
