AE instance + QuickTime movie in Premiere exporting with jitters

I am making a video project with a AE project and a .mov coming from Google Sketup 8 into an Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 project. When I export only the AE clip with standard H.264 Deinterlaced settings the playback is super smooth but when I export the whole clip with the same settings there are jitters and blurriness apprearing in the clip (The effect could be compared to an old VHS playback sort-of).
My Premiere project is a 720 x 480 document NTSC 4/3 aspect ratio and both my .mov and AE project are that format.
Could it be that my framerate could be different in my .mov and in my Premiere project? (As far as I know, both my AE project and .mov are at 29.97 frames per second, but could be wrong).
My export settings are H.264, NTSC DV High Quality - De-interlaced - I tried both Progressive and Cubic pixels.
Any lead would be appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you for answering this, Terence. That worked. I was able to export as Slideshow, but for some reason only the .m4v version will open. When I export as QuickTime .mov, QuickTime can't then open the file (??).

Can't open quicktime movie that I exported from FCP 5. Help!

    What arrow?
Have you tried opening the file in FCP?
If there is no error message and it will not play in QT7, it is quite possible the file is corrupted. You will need to go back to the original project and re-export the file.

  • Export to Quicktime Movie and end up with Final Cut document

Exactly this is happening. Yesterday no problem, today I can not export. Using Quicktime Conversion is also hopeless. How do I remedy this? Thanks, and please be simple--I am the Idiot for which the Idiot Books were written...

    "today I can not export"
    What happens when you export?
"Using Quicktime Conversion is also hopeless."
    What happens?
Exporting to either Movie or Conversion produces a QuickTime file. The only difference is that a QuickTime Movie has Final Cut as the creator type. Both can be used in any QuickTime application on any Mac that has the appropriate codec.

  • FCP Quicktime movie files not working with iDVD

I have been using iDVD for years with no issues. Now, whenever I export a QT file from FCP 7 and use it in iDVD, I get a blank screen with audio and no video.
I am able to work around the problem by using "Export Using Qucktime Conversion" and creating a smaller file, but I've never had to do that before. What in the world am I missing here? Shouldn't I be able to export as a QT movie, as long as the file is not gigantic? (the most recent one I used and had this problem occur was only about 500mb). Thanks for any help...
    Ben

    Hmmm,
Well this is helpful information but unfortunately didn't solve my problem. The movie in question is only 5 1/2 minutes long. When I export it as a QT movie, iDVD "acts" like everything is fine; I can preview it within iDVD, etc.But when I burn the disc, it comes out blank. I then went back to FCP and exported it using QT conversion, and the DVD burned just fine. (I exclusively use Taiyo Yuden media and have never had a bad disc).
This is just a simple 16:9 movie, shot at 720/30p on a Canon DSLR. I ingested with Log and Transfer using ProRes422, then dropped it onto the timeline, added a music track, rendered, and exported as Quicktime movie. It looks great on my desktop using the QT player, but it simply will not work in iDVD.  Still stuck here...

  • Quicktime .movs error Premiere CC. Damaged or unsupported file type.

I'm having major problems with Quicktime .movs (anims & prores) in Premiere CC - which is making it completely unuseable.
Sometimes the files load and work but 90% of the time I get the unsupported file type error.
I've double checked the files are fine on various computers and they are, but Premiere CC refuses to work properly with them.
A project with 10 clips - each time I open a few open fine and work - but never all of them and it randomly changes which ones work and which ones are unsupported.
Any ideas would be most appreciated!
    Windows 8 64bit
    Premiere CC
    Quicktime 7.7.4
Quadro 2000 - have tried both latest official driver and the later Beta driver with no difference.
    Cheers

I wondered if the fact different ones load and then it stops was a memory issue.
Can you suggest the best way to encode my clips for HD Quality on Premiere CC for PC? Would it be image sequences?

  • Exporting Final Cut Quicktime movie onto DVD, Exporting Final Cut Quicktime movie onto DVD

    Hello,
So I've just finished a 30 minute long project on Final Cut Express.  I want to get this project onto a DVD-R (holds 4.7 GB) so I can get it to a television station where it will be aired.  I exported the project to my desktop as a Quicktime file.  The file is 22 GB.  This doesn't seem right.  What do I need to compress this file to get it onto a DVD-R with minimal loss of quality?  I used iDVD to get a 36 minute version of this project onto DVD and it worked great.  The thing is, if I'm giving the 30 minute version to a television station, the movie shouldn't have the interactive DVD title screen at the beginning, so I need to find another way to compress the movie.  Any advice??  Thanks.

    Hi
To get Maximum quality over to TV-Station - I would Copy back to miniDV tape (100% quality) and let them use a Camera or tape-deck to play it.
(BTW - DVD is as standard SD-Video - so HD material will not be any better - in some cases it even get worse)
Else if DVD is a must.
    FCE/P to iDVD
    Several things to know
    • How to go from FCE/P to iDVD
    • Free space on Start-up hard disk
    • Encoding
    • Brand and type of DVDs used
    • Burn speed set
    • iDVD BUG
    • Chapters
How to go from FCE/P to iDVD I do
    • Disable Screen and Energy saver
    • IMPORTANT --> FIRST in FinalCut - Mix Down Audio under Sequence Menu / Render Only / Mix-down
    • Export out as a QuickTime .mov file
    • Select with Mark - Chapter Mark
    • Not as Self-Contained (not important but saves time and space)
    • NO QUICKTIME CONVERSION (IMPORTANT)
This QT.mov file I import into iDVD from within iDVD.
Drop it into the Auto-Play box (top left one in organization menu in iDVD)
Use a Very simple theme - eg "Brushed Metal" (old themes)
Drop a black photo here to make it invisibly
    • Now it will Auto-Start and end on a Black frame - There are no - No Menu choice else.
Free space on Start-up hard disk
I set a minimum of 25GB (for Mac OS and iDVDs temp files)
    Encoding
    • I use Pro Quality encoding
Brand and type of DVDs used
    • I use Verbatim
    • I use DVD-R
    Burn speed set
    • I set down this to x4 (or x1)
    iDVD BUG
    • One can not go back to movie-project for any alterations and then go back to
the iDVD project. It will notice and ask You to either Up-date or Cancel. Neither
    of them will work.
Medicine - Start a brand new iDVD project.
    Use of Chapters
    • I only use a to z and 0 to 9 in naming them. NO other symbol/letter !
    • NO Chapter-mark at very beginning - iDVD NEEDS TO set this by it self
    • No Chapter marks in or within two seconds from a transition
(Way around this last one - Export movie as QT full quality and NO Chapter marks
Import this into a new Movie-project and now You are free to set C-Ms where You want
them except at very beginning - still)
    Material used to build movie
    • video - I use streamingDV (or convert all other to this eg .mp4, .avi, .wmv etc)
    • audio - I use .aiff 16-bit 48kHz or from Audio-CD (44.1kHz) - no .mp3 or direct from iTunes
    • photos - I use .jpg - no .bmp etc
    Problems then
Trash iDVD pref. file and run Repair Permissions - and have a re-try.
    from post ??
May not be relevant, but I had the same problem with iDVD, where burned DVDs showed a green screen. It was cured by quitting Quicksilver and Quickeys as well as disabling sleep and screen-saving

  • Can't save quicktime movie and, or export

I do a lot of editing of short videos for church in Soundtrack Pro and when I go to save the file the program hangs on the saving (the bar indicates it is saving the file and the hangs at the end). The other way to deal with this is to export, but that function is grayed out. I would appreciate some feedback about this.

It seems I might be experiencing a similar issue.
Whenever I try to Save or Save As, in the dialogue box where I'd type in the new file name to save it as, it freezes, gets hung up, and I just get the spinning beach ball. It'll stay there forever and I eventually just have to Force Quit.
I now have no way to save anything I do in Soundtrack Pro.
I have recently upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6.

  • QuickTime 7.5  and Exporting with the Animation Codec

Since the QT upgrade to 7.5 I have a problem on my mac where the render fails and AE crashes.
This is VERY similar to the problem I had with the 7.4 QT upgrade.
I am using the Animation Codec and Millions of Colors + for the alpha channel.
Has anyone else experienced this as well?

I just modified my Memory and Cache preferences and got one to export without crashing.
I decreased the maximum cache size down to 30%
    I also enabled Disk caching.
Just to see if I got lucky I just rendered 3 more with no problems. Weird...
Does anyone know why this may have occurred?

  • Final cut pro problem when exporting with quicktime movie

    Hello!
I must have som help beacuse my musicmovie must be finsihed untill today. I have a movie their i had used filters like colour correction and interlace. When i export with USING QUICKTIME CONVERSION and have
    keyfram 10
    bitrate 6000
    faster encode
    size 1920x1080 HD 16:9
its not a problem the movie works fine all the way.
But when i export with QUICKTIME MOVIE it dosent work. Some clips are frozen and some are beeing misscoloured. None of them have interlace. Its the same clips that dosent work everytime i had export with QM. I have tried to replace these clips but the same thing is happening. I dont understand why i cant use quicktime movie but it works with quicktime conversion.
If you have an e-mail i can send you just the part where this happening.
    Please help me!
    Thanks Gabriel

I am also expriencing the same error. Tried every solution listed so far:
    1. Switch off background rendering. Trash render files. Don't render. Export.
    2. copying the project within Final Cut Pro into another project
    3. remove the following folder: Library > Application Support > ProApps > MIO > RADPlugins > XDCAMFormat.RADPlug
Nothing worked. I try to export to Vimeo, YouTube, and master. All error right at 9%

  • Can Premiere create a Quicktime movie that loops?

I have some Quicktime movies (.mov) that I made in Director. I want them to loop by default, but there's no setting for this in Director that I can find. (Not getting any answers on the Director forum...)
I know I can set Quicktime Player to loop movies continuously but I want the loop built in.
I'm a total novice at Premiere but I have access to use it at work. Can I change an already-made non-looping Quicktime movie to a looping Quicktime movie using Premiere CS4? How? Or some other way (freeware)?
    Thanks for helping!

I have never done this, but I think Encore will allow you to create a movie DVD where the final action of the timeline is to go back to the beginning of the timeline (I think this would be done by creating a DVD with no menu, just a timeline set as 1st play for auto start)
But... ask in the Encore forum to be sure
Thanks for responding. Sounds like learning Encore would be part of this solution. Will have to look and see later if thats even included in the Premiere I can use at work.
A looping Quicktime movie seems like such a simple concept - an Export checkbox: "loop infinitely".  Any ideas on why this is not something that could easily be implemented into Premiere, Final Cut, Director etc.?

  • Jumpy video after Exporting Quicktime Movie from PS CS4 Extended

I am trying to produce a short training video for work.  I created my entire movie in iMovie '09, and decided that it desperately needed some arrows and text to clarify some of the more technical aspects.  I exported it as a Quicktime file from iMovie and imported into Ps CS4 extended.
After I finished the editing, I chose to export my video, again as a Quicktime movie.
The export completed, and when I went to review my movie, it was extremely jumpy.  Watching the time line on the bottom of the Quicktime screen, I noticed that it was jumping in multiple second intervals.  The audio portion seemed normal, but the video kept freezing and scrambling.
I attempted re-exporting the video with the Quicktime settings of Animation, and Frames Per Second set at current.
    No difference.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong????

    Marian -
Thank you for your response.  I am only an amateur video editor, and up until now, I hadn't bumped up against the limitations of iMovie too often.  You are definitely correct, it would FAR easier to do these effects in FCE, FCPro, AE, Premiere, etc., except for one thing . . . I don't own any of those programs!    (I've already ordered a copy of Final Cut Express, but it stinks to have to spend $200 to get $7 worth of personal functionality.)
I do, however, own the extended Ps CS4.  And, to paraphrase the guy on Lynda.com, "You already have it, and you know how to use it . . . It should work for you . . ."
This is the information on the file, it was exported this way automatically by iMovie (They don't give you much control over these functions.)
Unfortunately, I trashed my output from PS as well as the .psd in a fit of rage!  It wouldn't take me more than 30 minutes to recreate it . . .
Would it be worth attempting to export it using H.264 instead of the animation Codec?

  • Exporting from STP to a quicktime movie?

Can anyone tell me why STP exports such a small file size.
    Example...
I Send a sequence from FCP to STP as a multitrack project.
I then added music in STP and exported the master mix as a quicktime movie in h.264 format with no compression.
It cam out at just over 200 MB. Which is way to compressed.
So then I exported it from STP to FCP and then exported the same movie as quicktime h.264 uncompressed and it came out at over 2GB.
Seems like a major waste of time having to send it back to FCP just to export a decent size quicktime movie.

When you export your mix "Using compressor" adjust the video compression so it's more to your liking. Or use the preserve Video setting which will pass the video through unchanged from the original.

  • I have a quicktime movie on a hard drive, and I have the hard drive plugged into my macbook, and the quicktime movie is not opening, its just a black screen. How do I convert it to the right file so I can watch it ?

I have quicktime movie files on a hard drive, and normally when I plug the hard drive into my computer, I can open the quicktime files and watch them. Now when I am doing it, the quicktime movies are opening up with a black screen. How do i convert it to be in the right format to be able to watch ?

I plugged my old drive into an identical Vostro and saved my bookmarks per the instructions. Later, when I check the file, it was in html format. While waiting for the replacement laptop to arrive, I put my old (Vostro) hard drive into a case so I could access the files. I have been able to launch web pages from the file bt accessing them through My Documents so I know the file is good. The problem is, I apparently need to convert them into a JSON file in order to use them. There is a set of instructions on the Mozilla/Firefox website but that method does not work.

  • Quicktime movies in powerpoint

We have found that movies that play fine in Macintosh Powerpoint do not play in Windows Powerpoint. The same movies play fine with Quicktime Player in Windows. Is there a fix for this problem?

PowerPoint for Windows versions 97, 2000, 2002 and 2003 allow you to insert QuickTime movies upto version 2.5 or any QuickTime movie that's rendered with the QuickTime Cinepak codec - unfortunately, newer QuickTime formats are not natively supported. In such a scenario, you can either link to a QuickTime movie as an object or convert your QuickTime movie to the AVI format or an older QuickTime format.
