AE not rendering dust effects

In my comp I have some gold 'dust' particles and just plain dust particles that are floating around. As I scrub through the movie they are there but when I render there is no dust at all in my scenes.
Any hints on what could be causing this?

Pretty sure you do. I mean, I don't know of any CC subscription that limits you to a version of software. The cool thing about the Creative Cloud model is that you have access to the current version and past versions. (You can get CS6, CC, and CC 2014 all installed on your machine.)

If you select the effects in the effects panel, edit>copy (or ctrl+c/cmd+c) and then select your new solid layer and edit>paste (or ctrl+v/cmd+v), it should copy and paste all the settings you've adjusted.

Ken Burns Effects not rendering

I am having isssues with Ken Burns effects not rendering. I have no iMovie 3rd-party plug-ins. I select the timing of the effect and hit apply and the photo clip hangs and will not render. Anyone else experiencing the same issue or have a fix??

I have discovered the issue. It wasn't 3rd party plug-ins, but a Quicktime plug-in entitled "QuartzComposer.component". After removing, Ken Burns effects rendered as planned.

Why is my .psd file not rendering correctly in ae

Some layers of the .psd document are not rendered correctly. However they are imported.
The strange thing is that when I first move from Photoshop to Illustrator, save it as an .ai file it is rendered properly (in Ae).
I am kind of clueless as to what is causing this issue.

Okay if more information is needed, i'll provide. However you may disregard my initial comment about illustrator. It flattens the photoshop layers so I do not have any flexibility in After Effects. In other words, my main question remains: why is my psd file not rendering correctly in ae?

As someone suggests, and I also agree with him, it would be a driver problem. My graphic card is "ATI Radeon X1950 Pro" and I'm using the "xf86-video-ati 6.12.2-2" driver. I know that there are other possibilities according to this wiki:

I already tested them with KDE4.2 and xf86-video-ati provided the best result for me.
Someone with an ATI card has the same problem? Which driver would you suggest to me?

fixed all my problems. Probably you've heard about it Now, I don't have any rendering problem and I have enabled the Desktop effects. I tested it with and without the xorg.conf file. Both of them worked, but without the file I don't have my keyboard in Spanish.
I read that it was possible the KMS support. I tested it by changing from graphical to text mode but it takes some time so I guess that it's not enabled. Is there any way to test KMS?
Is it possible to upgrade the AUR driver to the official repository? Meanwhile, I will comment my problem in the KDE site.

Colours not rendering correctly in terminal

I have just installed Arch on my laptop, and I am getting everything setup. When I run alsamixer something goes wrong, the screenshot below speaks a thousand words.
When I use the arrow keys to change widget focus the previous widget tends to disappear all together. When I exit alsamixer the terminal is useless, typically no text is shown. The terminal does accept input however.
The problem is reproducable in both XFCE4 Terminal and xterm. My .bashrc looks like

Another thing to note is that the problem affects all open terminals, not just the one alsamixer was run on. Also, once in a rare while 'grep --color' can produce the same effect.

Illustrator CS5 drop shadow - blur not rendering correctly

I just got a new computer and have installed Illustrator on it. This is my first time using the program on this computer. I created this file on my old computer in Illustrator. When opening it today, in the newly installed version of CS5, the drop shadow blur effect is not rendering properly. However, as you can see in the screenshot, one of the words has a proper blur. Everything else does not! Anyone know what to do, short of re-installing the whole program? Red arrow is the problem drop shadow. Purple arrow is the drop shadow that blurred correctly.

Well it must be something wrong on this new computer, I can't figure out what. Whenever I do a new iteration of a drop shadow it doesn't render the blur. For example, the one below- the first "Tune in" is from the original document, created on my other computer. The second "Tune in" is what happens when I try to alter it in any way, including deleting the old drop shadow and adding a new one.

Pr link Ae not rendering correctly

Hi,
I'm relatively new to this type of workflow and will try to communicate the problem the best I can. My main goal is to trouble shoot where the glitch is.
The Problem:
I am editing 4K and 5K footage in Pr on a 1080p timeline and sending some clips to Ae for effects. Not sure if I'm pushing the limits on how these two programs communicate, but I'm getting strange problems in the renders. They are glitchy and not representative of how I effected the clip in Ae. The layer will hop around and loose resolution for a couple frames. Very random. Just to be clear "the renders" are from when I select the clip on the Pr timeline and "render selection". Not rendered straight out of Ae to a separate folder.
Type of effects.
On my timeline I "set to frame size" for some clips, "scale to frame size" for others. I often "reverse clip" in either Pr or Ae.
In Ae I use the TimeBlend effect with keyframed accumaltion. I ramp speeds on keyframes as well. Lots of stuff going on and it seems some of it is lost in translation between the two softwares.

Thanks for that. Another thing I didn't mention is that I changed the duration of the Ae comp settings after sending it to Ae to accommodate a speed ramp. That might have confused it a bit. I may go with a render and replace method though. My source media is a mix between RED 4K files, and image sequences baked into 5K ProRes QT files. So much potential, but unruly to work with. Hard to edit this piece when I spend most of my time waiting for renders just to get a preview. I thought of using proxies which is a new work flow for me.
Does sending a sequence from Pr to Ae then creating a proxy workflow in Ae present any problems? Just trying to find the best way to edit as close to the speed of thought that I can. I'd love to be able to add a Time blend effect, preview it in the edit, tweak it, preview it again... so on and so forth.

Open Sans Condensed not rendering right

I'm building a website using (partially) Google webfont 'Open Sans Condensed'. Also my website is in Greek.
In Chrome and Firefox the font is rendered correctly, in Safari it's not rendered at all.
On the iPad & iPhone (tested in Chrome & Safari) it only renders the latin characters right, the greek are not.
Any ideas???

Several people with similar issues (in other forums) recommended this:
"If 'Open Sans Condensed' is installed on the computer, disable it in Font Book. Should solve the problem."
Result:
In fact it does effect the come out, but doesn't solve the problem!!!
Now Safari (desktop) renders the font the same way as the iPad (only latin characters are right) Greek is still not working.
I couldn't expect the visitors of my website to NOT have the font installed, also this solution wouldn't work on iPad anyway.
Any other suggestions?

Selective footage not rendering!!

Hi,
I have a 5 min video and when rendering, it displays a slow preview as it renders, everything looks fine there, but when I look at the rendered .avi, there are two layers which are not rendering, even though they appear in the preview and everything works fine when I view the footage inside AE.
I have tried several combinations of rendering and none seem to work. The only similarities that share the two sections which wont render properly, are added effects and keyframes to their effects, but there is another layer which has effects too and that one renders fine.
I will gladly provide any needed information that you may require in order to get more information regarding this issue. As I have stated before, I have tried a lot of combinations, the final one being with everything set to "Current Settings" and with Open GL on anf off.

**UPDATE**
The first layer which would not render had a Mask inside which did nothing, I deleted that and it seems to work now.
The second layer had it's opacity down to 8% --__-- '
What really bugs me is that while I'm playing the video inside AE or even watchig the preview as it renders, it shows differently that how it ACTUALLY looks like!!
Anyway to fix this, or do I just have to live with it?

Issue #1: Solved.

Adjustment Layer not rendering...

I have a fairly basic comp consisting of 3 or 4 3d layers spaced out along the Z axis, two precomps containing some edge lighting effects, a camera, a light, and the troublesome adjustment layer. The adjustment layer only contains some color correction and a flare. I thought perhaps a certain effect may be causing the layer not to render, but i eliminated that possibility by removing the effects i had and trying several other, the layer was still not rendering. I think I have exhausted all of the really simple solutions, nothing is solo'd, all the layers are visible in the preview, the layers are all in the correct order etc.. I can't SS the project right now as I am not at home, but i can tell you that I am working with CS5.5, on windows 8.1, i5 cpu, 8 gigs of ram. The really frustrating part is that a slightly earlier version of the project successfully rendered the adjustment layer and I don't remember changing anything major... Suggestions? Shots in the dark? Anything? I will post a SS later in the day. Thanks in advance to any and all who have advice.

I want to create "dust effect" where the title turns to dust an blows away in Final Cut Studio.

I'm interested in creating a dust effect for two purposes. First, I'd like the title of my short film to turn to dust and blow away during the opening credits. Secondly, I was hoping to have the occasional fine plume of dust blow through the frame between the camera and the characters as they walk along a dirt road. I wasn't sure if this was even possible but I thought I'd ask. Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

Thanks for all the feedback! That's crazy because I initially did a "dust" search and the only threads that came up were people that got dirt/dust in their iPod, iPhone, camera, etc. I must have just made a general search, not Motion specific. Anyway, thanks again to everyone!

Video clips in comps are not rendering out of render cue?

First time poster here... new to the forum.
I previous successfully created a show title sequence using a template where I chose to right click on the image placeholder and choosing set proxy file to the new video that replaces the template image.
All is well when previewing, video files play embedded in the comps, and look great but when I go to render out the .mov file the video disappears from the file leaving only the text and effects.
I figured out a solution about 6 weeks ago that enabled me to complete the first title sequence but am having trouble again and cannot recall exactly how to repeat the solution.
Any thoughts?

I am replying to my own post... different user name because I could not get into my other account.
Two solutions:
1. I found an old text I sent to a friend where I found the previous solution. In the render settings the default box is checked "use no proxies" so that is why the video files were not rendering out. Uncheck that box and you're good.
2. Open the comp in Adobe Media encoder and render it out there... preview window shows proxies being embeded in preview window!
Hope this helps someone new to After Effects from banging their head against the wall in the future.

Cineform not rendering properly!

I always use Cineform. Got the newest update, and I use it now with Premiere Pro CS6. Fastest rendering I ever had. But when the timeline is done rendering, ALL of the clips, which are Cineform AVIs, using effects such as Boris, or Sapphire Edge, are black! All the parameters for the effects are still in the effects panels, the video still plays on the timeline, everything else is normal, etc., but the video itself doesn't show! I tried deleting preview files. Fail. I tested removing the effects themselves. Success! But I need those effects for my clients, so fail! I can still hear/play the audio, but the video just disappers. Making a new project with Mercury Playback Software renderer, and importing the project, did nothing. All video is still black. HELP ME PLEASE!

I haven't taken the time to export, but judging from the preview panel in export, the video still appears in black. I know I don't neccessarily have to render everything always, but the thing is that it plays very choppy when its not rendered, which makes editing much harder to determine regarding cuts, and such.

JSF Pages are not rendering correctly when loaded using Non JSF actions

This problem is irritating me and I am posting the same query for the third time here.
When I come from non jsf actions such as page submitting using Javascript, clicking anchor link, clicking normal Html submit button and so on my page is not rendering correctlly .
In other words, My first GET method/Post method works perfectly for the first time when the page is loaded.
But when we try to access the page for the second time, although logical work is perfect in bean, I am getting same old page.
How to resolve this issue?
