AE/Pr dynamic link issues: lost links, slow renders

I use dynamic links to scoot AE comps into Pr timelines quite a bit. I like the feature because: a) inevitably a lot of tweaking and revising of comps tends to go on, b) it saves disk space and file management, c) it is easily adjustable from within Pr (right click > edit original).
Lately however, I've noticed some misbehaviour in my beloved dynamic links. When both Pr and AE are open Pr is slow to render the AE dynamic links. Like, really slow. 5 - 10 seconds per frame of basic CC and masking in AE. When I close AE the renders speed right up to what I would call 'normal' speed. A couple of frames a second. The only problem is when I close AE while Pr is open, Pr loses it's dynamic links. They appear offline the moment AE closes and to continue working with them have to relink, or if I save and exit Pr and reopen the dynamic links magically appear linked again. Any idea what is going on and more importantly how to fix it?
Vital stats as follows: OSX 10.9.1, AE 12.2.0.52, Pr 7.2.1 (4). Material AVCHD native, with matching timeline settings.

If you think something doesn't work the way you think it should, filing a feature request is a good way to push it towards happening.

I'd suggest posting over on the AE forum for the AE people to look at the rest of it.

  • Slow program response, crashes when creating titles and dynamic link issues

    Dear reader,
I am now trialling Adobe CC OSX with Premiere Pro and After Effects before deciding to subscribe but I am experiencing a lot of issues while working.
I am now working on an animation, but editing raw mxf files also gives crashes and slow responses/ program refreshes.
    1) Slow mouse response
    2) Slow program refresh while key framing visuals
    3) Rendering in PP is extremely slow when AE is open in the background, when closing AE and re-initiate the render in PP it renders super fast
    4) Crashes. When I overlay titles in my time line PP regularly crashes
    5) Dynamic Link issues when working combined in AE and PP where file connections in the time line get lost when the AE project has too many sequences
I am curious to find out if other people are also experiencing these issues.
I am indecisive in getting the paid yearly plan or move to FCPX instead? Or should I get a new MacPro and is this model too old?
It worked fine 2 months ago, however I was still working on FCP7. After updating it is really bad working with it...
    My system consist of:
    MacPro mid-2010
    OSX 10.9.5 (13F34) (new installation)
    2x2,66Ghz 6-core Intel Xeon
    24GB DDR3 ECC
    Nvidia Quadro K5000, 4GB
    2x PCIe SSD 1TB
    2x HDD 3TB
    2x HDD 2TB
Feedback is much appreciated! Best regards, Alexander

this does work for basic colour correction but not when trying to grade an entire suqence to achieve a specific style, applying a vingette or certain effects have to be done in after effects.
I want to try and get my whole sequence into after effects but preserve the edits and effects added in permier pro, is there any way to do this?

  • Can I Select from table skipping extents linked with lost datafiles?

    Hi~,
I need your help to recover my database.
I'm using oracle 9.2.0.8 at Fedora 3 with no-archive mode.
and I don't have any backup.
Last night, I experenced hard disk failure.
I tried OS-level recovery, but I lost some datafiles of tablespace.
anyway, I wanted to recover my database without data of lost datafiles.
so, I issued "alter database datafile offline drop" and
    start oracle instance.
But, datafiles were not removed from dba_data_files view and
extents linked with lost datafiles were not removed from dba_extents view!
Selecting query of some table containing extents linked with lost data files,
I got "ORA-00376: file xxx cannot be read at this time" message.
    So, my question is that..
HOW CAN I SELECT FROM THAT TABLE WITHOUT SCANNING EXTENTS LINKED WITH LOST DATA FILES?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Without being in archivelog and without backup, one can't do any sort of recovery. That's why backups and archivelog are so so important.
The offline data file command never does actually drop the datafile. It merely indicates to the control file that now the said tablespace will also be dropped. This won't update any view that the files are not supposed to be used or shown to you anymore.
This is what documentation says about the recovery of the database in the NoARch mode,
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/backup.102/b14191/osrecov.htm#i1007937
You do need a backup in order to get those tables being read. Oracle doesn't have any feature which can offline/skip the missing extents for you and let you read the data without them.

  • I am having major issues with links in keynote! Even though the links (a navigation system) are on the master page, they are only working on some of my slides. Anyone have ideas on how to fix this or similar issues? Help!

I am having major issues with links in keynote! Even though the links (a navigation system) are on the master page, they are only working on some of my slides. Anyone have ideas on how to fix this or similar issues? Help!
I have created a navigation system on the master pages and set the presentation to links only mode. I also have other links scattered throughout the program, like a linkable table of contents, etc. Some of them work, some of them don't. Not sure why. Anyone out there having similar issues? Or have any idea on how I can solve this issue? Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

Links should not create any problems in Keynote.  If they are set up correctly on text, the text will be underlined. Objects that have links will have a curved arrow bottom right, if you click the arrow a popup will display the link information.
Try this repair for Keynote,  ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:

delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote, using Appcleaner from Mac Update, its a freeware application

empty the trash:  Finder > Empty Trash

Shut down your Mac, wait 30 seconds, then power on the Mac, immediately after the start chime, hold down the Shift key
When you see the grey Apple symbol and progress indicator (a spinning gear), release the Shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, then hold down the Shift key again as you click Log in.
    4
Let the Mac fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive

when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and click  repair disc permissions

when complete, restart the Mac normally, Apple menu > Restart

install Keynote from the Mac App Store
let us know if this helped

  • Name Case issue in Link Palette

I have imported couple of Links in InDesign CS6. All links are imported well. The issue is happened in case sensitive of links as described below.
    1. I have imported the links with the naming convention as shown below.
         001_FlowerX1.jpg
         002_FlowerX2.jpg
         003_FlowerX3.jpg
         004_FlowerX4.jpg
         005_FlowerX5.jpg
    2. I have renamed the links after imported into InDesign as shown below.
         001_flowerx1.jpg
         002_flowerx2.jpg
         003_flowerx3.jpg
         004_flowerx4.jpg
         005_flowerx5.jpg
Can you see the difference of the naming convention between points 1 & 2? There is a case sensitive difference.
InDesign Link palette does not show modified/missing links. The image status looks "OK" in the Link palette after change the original name in point 2.
I just wonder how InDesign does not show modified/missing links in the Links palette after changing the name. Attached screenshot of case sensitive difference in the links naming convention for your reference.
Anyone help on this issue to overcome and provide a solid solution of the same.

Is your Mac set up to use case-sensitive file naming? I'm not a Mac person, but my recollection is you have to go to some pains to format the drive for case-sensitivity.
If, in fact, you simply change the case without moving the files and you are not formatted for case-sensitivity I would expect ID to continue to recognize the files at the old locations and to update automatically the next time you open the document. If you change the names in Finder whiel the document is open I would expect to see a file modifcation warning, but not a missing file. I don't know why ID isn't updating the spelling, though. Perhaps it's because it doesn't matter.

  • InDesign Placed Text Linking Issue

Hi - I've just recently updated to CS6 and am having an issue with linking placed text files.
When I place the Word Doc into the InDesign file initially (not in position), the link to the original document is present in the 'Links' window as expected. However, I need to transfer this text into another text box on the page and of course when I do so the link is removed.
Therefore, I tried placing the Word Doc directly onto the page in position (I have an autoflow setup that I need the text to run through) however when I do this no link appears in the window. To clarify, I have three separate text boxes setup on my master page that I need this linked text to flow through.
Any suggestions how to solve this? I have run through the preferences and ensured everything is as it should be.
    Thanks!

Sorry for the double post! I've solved it - for anyone else in the same boat, I created a Master Page with the linked text flowed through the 3 separate text boxes. I then selected to override the master objects on the realtime pages and relinked to different documents from there as needed.

  • Oracle 11g installation issue while linking

    Dear All,
I am installing Oracle11g as p, At the time while the installation is in progress faced errors related to links.
we skipped those errors and completed the installation. But after that we are unable to login sqlplus with SIDadm
error: /usr/lib/hpux64/dld.so: Unable to find library 'libsqlplus.so'.
    Killed
It seems obvious that the error is related to those skipped links. Now I tried to relink them using the command
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/relink all, But some links are failed
I found one common error " sh: cc:  not found"
Doest it mean we do not have CC installed at HP-UX IA 64 level?
Could you let me know how do we proceed to resove this linking issue..
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi ,
Can you please specify the value of SHLIB_PATH environment variable for ora<sid>. The value $ORACLE_HOME/lib should be present.

  • Pagination and visited links issue

I am creating reports on two tables which are structurally same but hold different set of data. I created one report page using SQL Query using PL/SQL function body returning SQL Query. The trick is to set a request value based on the link clicked by the user to run the query on the correct table. I am using following pagination scheme.
    "Search Engine 1,2,3,4(set based pagination)”
The issue is with the “visited link” behavior of the links to the record sets in the pagination navigation bar (shown on the bottom right corner of the report region for each result set). Say the user has visits link 3 in pagination navigation bar on the report number one on table A. The browser correctly shows this link in visited link color. Now, if user opens report number 2 on table B, they see the link 3 again in visited color even if they are there for the very first time. This is sounds like a cosmetic nuisance, but this is sort of confusing for the users.
I guess, since I am using the same page definition for both reports, the pagination object and associated links for the result sets in the pagination have same values. From browser perspective it is the same link and hence the links are shown visited.
Is there a way that I can force a new pagination object based on which table I am accessing still using only one report page defined in HTMLDB. I do not want to create separate page for each report on each table.
    Thanks
    Salman

I guess it was too wordy or it was not clear enough.
In short, is it possible to clear out the visited link status (color changed) of the links to pagination resultset of a report within same session. The pagination type is "Search Engine 1,2,3,4(set based pagination)." I am using patched version 1.5.
    Thanks

  • Word 2013 - Links issue

I have a client who has a Word document which utilizes links.  The links actually reference the document itself.  Here is an example:
    PARTY1 and PARTY2
    Effectivedate
    NAME LIVING TRUST
PARTY1 and PARTY2, Parties, or their successors in trust, under the NAME LIVING TRUST, dated Effectivedate, and any amendments thereto.
If the client changes the top PARTY1 or PARTY2 entry, it's supposed to automatically, or even manually, update the names in the paragraph.  However, when trying to update, we receive error "Error! Not a valid link" within the paragraph.
The links are referencing the same document, not a second document, and they're pointing to something like "\\SERVER\SHARE\Document.docx."  Also, this is happening in Word 2013.  It seems like Word 2010 users do not have this issue.  Also,
this used to work without issue for this user.
Here is what we have tried:
    * Remove and reinstall Word.
    * Reset all Word settings per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822005.
    * Tested on other computers.
If anyone has any other hints, I'd appreciate the feedback.  Thanks!

It's not clear from your post how the party names relate to the linking field, or what kind of a link you're using.
Word has a range of fields that can link to external files, including INCLUDETEXT, HYPERLINK and LINK, each for different scenarios. Each of these can take additional variables to point to a marker (e.g. bookmark, cell reference) in the source file. All
of these links use absolute paths, so moving the source file to another location is liable to break the link.
If you're only referencing content within the document itself, as your post suggests, you don't need any of the above fields and could instead use just a simple bookmark & cross-reference (REF field) arrangement or, perhaps, a Style & STYLEREF field
arrangement. Neither of these fields takes a filename or path as one of its parameters, so issues related to changes in file locations and file access don't arise. A HYPERLINK field, too, can be used for links to bookmarks within a document, without the
need to include a file name/path. For further information on data replication within a document, see:

  • Dynamic binding of partner links with different payloads

In dynamic binding of partner links, can we have different payloads for different
    webservices ?

    Hi Marc,
I have one question regarding the use of <xsd:anyType>, Before that let me clear our requirement. We are trying to create a BPEL flow (Consumer) which has the ability to call other webservices (Producers) dynamically. There can be a number of Producer Webservices performing the same task. The end user should be able to add new Producer Webservices and remove already existing ones. We achieved this using EndPointReference (http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/bpel_cookbook/carey.html) but the problem with this approach is that all the producer webservices have to work on a common schema. We want to support webservices working on different payloads.
My understanding is that when we map the XML document to xsd:anyType in the service's WSDL file, the producer web service need to have an implementation of this type in for of a java class. Is this correct ? Or can we provide the java implementation in our code itself? Can you please point me to some detail documentation on xsd:anyType?
    Thanks

  • URL link issue

    Hi
I am trying to create a link in my project to one of our
company intranet pages. I am using a click box and the URL - it
works fine in the Preview from Slide or next 5 slides, but when I
Preview in Web Browser it doesn't connect. Any suggestions as to
    what might be the cause?
    Thanks
    Alex

    Hi Alex
Hmmm, before investigating too deeply, I'm seeing some
familiarity here. For starters, the first link is to a .PDF. It's
been my experience that links to .PDF and Word .DOC files is "iffy"
at best. If you truly copied and pasted the links, I'd first try
removing the %20 from that first link. That's something the browser
normally inserts for a space. So instead of:
    http://wlgweb/Corporat/HumanResources/Staff%20Conduct/EmailInternetUsagePolicy.pdf
    Change it to read:
    http://wlgweb/Corporat/HumanResources/Staff
    Conduct/EmailInternetUsagePolicy.pdf
This may help and it may just be twisting in the wind. But
I'd try that first. I've often seen linking issues arise from that
silly %20. If possible, try to avoid that. I'm guessing here that
it may not be possible to control in your case as someone else may
be in control of those names. I've personally always opted to
either use a mix of upper/lower case names ( StaffConduct ) or
substitution of an underscore where spaces would normally occur (
    Staff_Conduct ).
Other wierdness I've seen when linking to .PDF content:
    * I personally had a different PDF reader (Foxit) installed
as my default. When Foxit was my default reader, PDF links refused
    to open.
    * I think this one is IE specific, but I've also seen it
where if I have a .PDF in the same folder and open that way, even
though the address is totally correct, the first time through, the
link fails. With the totally correct address showing in the address
bar. I simply refresh the page and bingo, the PDF shows! Go figure.
I really don't believe that this one is related to Captivate and
the way it calls the links. My gut tells me it's an IE thing. But I
have nothing to back me up on this.
I'm not sure what to say or suggest for the second link. I
tested it myself and it doesn't work, which tells me that either
the link is simply incorrect, or possibly it's located on an
    intranet site.
    Sincerely... Rick

All music links are lost after installing windows 7!!! HELP!!!
I upgraded my system to windows 7 ultimate from Vista and installed itunes 64px. but when I copy the old itunes folder into D://music and opened itunes, all my music cannot be played. each link shows the mp3 location as: file://localhost/D://music/itunes... ... please help me!!!!!!!! >_<

Was that Win 7 update from Lenovo, or Microsoft?  If Lenovo, it should have installed those missing features. If it was from Microsoft, you have to manually install the Lenovo drivers and software.
The easiest way to do that is to first install ThinkVantage System Update and run it.  It should download and install the other drivers and apps.  I'm running Win 7 pro 64 on my T400 - a MS upgrade clean install, then TVSU installed the Lenovo stuff.  Everything works.
Use the "SUPPORT" button at the top of this page, then "Download drivers and software" enter T400, install TVSU and you should be off to the races.

  • New CS4 links panel is very slow

I have 3200 links and using new CS4 links-panel is insanely slow. If I delete or update an image when links panel is open, I get the beachball for 10-15 seconds.
The beachball also rolls for many seconds when simply opening the links panel. Seriously slowing the workflow.
Tried to click off all info and thumbnails, no change.
This used to be a breeze in CS3.
Anyone else experience the same? I use MacBook Pro 2.4 Intel with 4 gigs ram.

Do you have any suggestions of what might be the problem?
I tried same document on CS3 and CS4, and CS4 has very slow links panel.
I have no trouble when there are just a few links, but I have 3200 links to maybe 15 different multipage PDF's. CS3 handled this perfectly.
