AE scaling issues with Windows 8.1 and 3200x1800 displays?

Hi There,
I run AE, Premiere, Photoshop all CS6 and on a Windows 8.1 - 3200x1800 laptop and it seem like all Adope Products - also Lighroom 4.4 don't scale properly. All buttons are about half the size of the mouse arrow. Really pain for the eyes and back having to work like that.
Tried Corel Draw X3 from 2006 and it works perfectly. Almost all other Programs don't seem to have this issue.
Will this be fixed soon?

This was leaked about the Windows update coming in April. Do you think this will fix it?
Built-in font scaling to 500 percent. Wzor notes that 250 percent font scaling is set as the default when you install on a monitor with more than 1,800 vertical pixels

What about scaling issues with CS6 Illustrator and Photoshop? I have a hidpi 3200x1800 13" laptop with win 8.1 and can't use the software because of the tiny text.

CS6 was released before HiDpi displays were common and there are no adjustments in that program.
You can try going into Preferences > Interface and changing the UI Font Size to Large.
You could also try lowering your display resolution until is decently readable.
Another step is joining Creative Cloud. Photoshop CC 2014 has 200% UI Scaling.
$50/month for all apps or $10/month for Photoshop/Lightroom.
There are intro and educational offers if you can get on them.

MAC (10.6.8) users having permission issues with windows 2003 AD and NetApp SAN environment.

I have created a cifs share that is being accessed by Mac users that are part of a windows 2003 AD. When the user edit data and save it back to the share, the security permission are reset and none of the other users can see the new data unless the permissions are refreshed on the windows server. I have found following links that talk about a similar issue but with an older MAC OS. I am using 10.6.8.

It appears to still affect Mavericks 10.9.5 at least from the lack of any positive reports to the contrary. It is perhaps a bit late but it would have been worth signing up for the public beta of Yosemite and testing that and if needed reporting it as an issue for Yosemite as this will be getting more bug fix attention than Mavericks now.
I would agree turning off de-duplication is not a desirable solution, however other possibilities to consider are installing the standard Samba software on a Mac and using that instead of Apple's SMBx software. This is done by using the SMBup installer See http://eduo.info/2013/07/13/smbup-faq it does not officially list Mavericks but I did see at least one report that it still worked. A second possibility is to install ExtremeZ-IP which installs an AFP server on to your Windows Server and also gives the bonus of supporting Spotlight searches.
Note: You should only try SMBup on a test setup first.

Sync issues with Windows I tunes and ipd touch

I am having some issues with transferring music to my ipod touch, the music is clearly displayed in I tunes, and I use the correct way to move the folder into the Ipod icon.......sometimes it works absolutely fine, and then I try another album and it just wont transfer.
I was wondering if there were any issues about which you connect first iTunes or Ipod first ? that might make a difference..however which ever way I do it my Ipod is always recognized by I tunes straight away.
could there be issue with the non official apple cable I am using.?.i don't see why as it will copy across other albums absolutely fine and charges up my idpod quickly
I have also checked in the folders to see if there are any strange goings on with music tracks that might stop them from transferring across... but all of them are named correctly and in the MP3 format
the albums that will not transfer do not appear to me to be in any way different to the albums that will transfer.
any advice would be appreciated as it is quite frustrating not to be able to copy all the albums that I want to over to my Ipod touch

The message indicated the iPhone is synced with another library. Syncing with this computer/library will wipe the contents from the device.
Have you recently changed computers? Is this the same computer the device is always synced with?

Sound Issues with macbook pro 13" and external display

Hey guys I have a 13" macbook pro from mid 2012 with 8 gb ram and the i7 processor. About a year ago I bought a thunderbolt to hdmi adapter and hdmi cable to use my 32 in tv as a monitor. It worked flawlessly and I never experienced the flickering issue people have been talking about. The tv is only 720p so the picture wasn't as clear as it should be. I was also tired of using a pullout desk and thought the 32 in was a little too big so a couple weeks ago I added an entire desk setup in the corner and bought a brand new 24 in Vizio E241i--a1 and mounted it on the wall as a monitor. This tv is the full 1080p. Ever since then, I have had trouble with the sound playing from the macbook>displayport-hdmi adapter>hdmi cable>monitor. I select the monitor as the output device and sometimes it will actually play and sometimes it will not. I mostly use the macbook in clamshell mode when at my desk but sometimes I have both screens on. No matter what if the sound has stopped working it will not go back. If I select the macbook speakers as the output then it will play through the macbook speakers. But once I switch back to the hdmi output for sound it still will not work. The only thing I can do to fix it is to leave the macbook in clamshell mode and then restart it causing the monitor to be the main display at boot up. Once I got the new tv, I also started experiencing the flickering issue people have been talking about with the external monitor. I know it is not because of Mountain Lion because I had Mountain Lion when I used my old setup and never experienced either of these problems. Any ideas on what could be going on? Thanks in advance

Did you format the external drive for use with OS X?
Open Disk Utility. Does Disk utility see the connected drive?
Format it to "Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

Bug/scaling issue with Adobe CC etc on 4K displays

Hi, I'm an issue with Photoshop in particular, but it also happens with some other programs.
My screen is 4K Ultra HD and because of this the menus etc. appear incredibly small at the side of the screen (see photo). This is the case with some other programs as well (but not the very recent ones such as Microsoft Office 2013).
This is the latest trial version of Photoshop CC, but also happens with my previous CS3 versions which I installed and my Sony Vegas software too.
I've tried lowering the resolution on the computer to 1920x1080 instead of the default Ultra HD (3840x2160) but when I do that the entire desktop becomes large and pixelated, but the problem in the Photoshop programs remain.
Any help would be really appreciated. I bought this laptop specifically for graphic design and illustration but this issue makes that impossible. Thank you.

Issues with Windows 8 (bootcamp) and microphone

I'm slightly confused as to where to ask this (apple forums or microsoft forums) I recently dual booted OS X 10.9.2 & Windows 8. I installed all the necessary drivers which apple gave me in their drivers for windows, however, my headset doesn't work... the headphone part works fine. I can hear all windows sounds and it still works on the mac. However, i want windows so that i can play a wider variety of games with my friends, and need a microphone so i can chat to them... Any help would be appreciated!

WRT610N issues with Windows 7 RTM and what's my version nothing printed on the back of the router

I got to explorer, choose network, then click the computer icon for WRT610N, it asks for a user name and password I enter the admin user name + password (here I notice that the domain is by default my computer domain, so I enter user name as \\WRT610N\admin) however, I get a prompt which says the user name is invalid.
Any ideas???
Also on another note, if I turn over my router to check which version it is, there is no version number mentioned... my firmware as displayed when I get to the router status page displays as "Firmware Version: 1.00.03 B15 May. 14, 2009"

If its not accepting the default Username and Password, then have you tried to change the password to access the storage Drive when you were trying to configure the settings on your Router? If you are not sure about the settings, then login to the Router setup page and click on the "Storage" tab and click on the sub tab "Administration" and under "User Management" select the User "admin" and click on "Modify" and change the password and click on Save Settings...
Once you are done with the settings, now try to Map the drive again on your computer, and when prompted for the Username and Password, type username and password (admin : username and password : which you created) and click Ok. This will let you view the Shared Folders which you have created on your Storage Drive. Right click on it and select "Map Network Drive" and below check the box "Re-Connect at Logon" and click on Finish.
These way it will map the Storage drive on your computer and you should be able to transfer the files on your Storage Drive.

Installation Issue with Windows XP Sp3 and IE 8.0.6

I recently found that I could not watch Youtube Videos. The error I received was that there was a problem with the video I was trying to watch in Youtube. I had the latest version of Adobe Flash player installed already. It listed many reasons as to why the videos would no longer play in Youtube. I did everything and checked everything they said to do. I then followed instructions on uninstalling and re-installing Flash Player. I had no version of Flash player installed after uninstalling 11.9. When I tried to re-install Flash Player it keeps telling me I have a newer version of Flash Player installed already when there was none there. This had been a very frustrating thing to deal with. Any Help would be appreciated. I can not watch any videos that use Youtube also even when I had Flash Player 11.9 installed.

Download and save the Flash Player uninstaller
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer(s) directly by right clicking one (or both) of the following links and selecting "Save Target as" (using IE) or "Save Link as"(using other browsers).
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
If you use other browsers I recommend downloading BOTH - Save them to your downloads folder and DO NOT run them yet.
Close your browser and check the Task Manager to be sure it's closed completely.
Run the uninstaller.
Reboot your system.
BEFORE you open anything else, locate and run the installers. Your Flash Player should be updated for IE and other browsers.

Network issues with Windows Server 2008 and MacOS

Hello there,
I believe it is a long shot, but i am running out of options. I got a video streaming server software running on my windows server 2008. It has a client that runs on MacOS and Windows. The windows client works just fine, but the macos client cannot stream
a few videos.
I've tried installing the streaming server on windows 7 and my mac client worked just fine, so I believe that win server 2008 got some sort of configuration that is blocking the correct communication between software.
Since the software devs could not tell me what's wrong or how to fix it, I thought I might get some help here (kinda of a last hope thing). I have tried installing codecs, enabling desktop experience and nothing worked.
So, here is my question: Is there anything that windows server has that windows 7 do not that might be causing this scenerio?

Hi,
Have you disabled the firewall on the windows server? The firewall may block the traffic if it isn’t configured properly.
If it still doesn’t work after disabling the firewall, please install the Network Monitor on the windows server and client. Then capture the traffic of the video when the server and windows7 runs your software.
Try to compare the traffic of windows server and windows7. Find out the difference between them.

i recently updated osx from 10.4.8 to 10.4.9 and after updating when ever i attempt to attach an extunal display (via svidio, rca, or vga connection) it caues many of the applacations on my computer to either crash or behave oddly.
by oddly i mean to hang out half on the screen and half off of the screen in the top left corrner.
its quite annoying really, execally sense it worked fine with all previous versions of osx.
any ideas?

Major Issues with Windows XP and Sound Blaster Audig

As mentioned in the post title, I'm using a Sound Blaster Audigy 4 card (recently purchased) and am having issues with Windows XP apparently because of it. When the card is physically installed, but the drivers are not, there are no problems. However, when the drivers are installed, Windows XP's "explorer.exe" crashes on boot, locking up the start menu and any other open windows. Now, I can manually end the explorer.exe application and then reboot it, and things will work... however, I cannot imagine that that is the intended functionality of this card. Additionally, I suspect the card in the failure of a game (Eve Online) but I would assume the issues are related. I've already narrowed the issue down to the Sound Blaster drivers. I've tried booting with the SB drivers but without the video card drivers, and the problem recurred. Every time I boot with the SB drivers installed, it fails. Without them, things seem to run normally. If it helps, I'm using an Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 processor, with GB of DDR800 RAM. I've installed Windows Service Pack 2 and all the other updates. The video card is a Geforce 7950 GT, with the latest NVidia Forceware (93.7) drivers. I've had this problem with both the Audigy drivers on the CD that came with the card and the newest ones downloaded from this website. My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3, which includes onboard sound hardware, but I have disabled it at the BIOS level. I can provide dxdiag information or anything like that if necessary. I ran the file, CTZAPXX.exe, like suggested, and it ran without a problem. It installed the files and even required me to reboot my computer!!
However, after a computer restart, I am still in the same boat. Codecs are installed, but the location of the device is "unknown". In Device manager, there are no unknown devices; it shows the codecs in the sound tab, but no actual hardware; as if my sound card does not exist.
I use my computer for music, and my buddy needs me tomorrow night to play some music stored on my computer. I really do appreciate the help I am offered. I do not mean to sound impatient, but I really need this device fixed, or I will have to have him buy me a sound card....

Qualcomm Mobile Broadband Gobi2000 compatibility issue with Windows 8 and above

I am facing Qualcomm Mobile Broadband Gobi2000 competibility issue with Windows. Previously, after installing windows 8, I faced a problem of random shut down. But, after running registry and malware scan, it's now almost settled . But, my Broadband modem randomly stops working , and Windows Action Centre points it out as "USB Modem Qualcomm Mobile Broadband Gobi2000 is not competible with current version of Windows". It further suggest to contact HP for resolving the issue.

URL issue with Windows 7 Internet Explorer 11 and SAP NW PI 7.

I am facing a strange issue with Windows 7 - Internet Explorer 11 and SAP NW java services (I hope I am in the correct discussion) ...
When I try to open URL http://sapserver.hosters-name:port it is working so far with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11.
But when I click than on NWA (example), I am getting "http 500 server error".
I don't have the issue, when I start-up a VMware Workstation with Windows XP and Internet Explorer 8.
But now the strange part: In our network DNS (Domain Name Service), we can also open the URL by http://sapserver.our-dns:port.
Than it is working without problems with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer.
I would agree to state the comment - it is just a Windows 7/Internet Explorer 11 issue, if it wouldn't work for both URLs (http://sapserver.hosters-name:port = problem URL; http://sapserver.our-dsn:port = working).
We are using a SAP NW PI 7.x system. Some URLs for PI are using http://sapserver.hosters-name:port/java service.
Do you have any hints what is cause the issue - I suspect some with Internet Explorer and Firefox (because with Google Chrome at least the URL for NWA is opened, beside the issue, Google Chrome can't display NWA content)?

Hi all,
I think I found the solution.
The reason seems to be, the domain name for http://sapserver.our-dns:port, "our-dns" was already added to the compatibility view settings of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
That seemed to be the reason, why it was working with http://sapserver.our-dns:port.
When I now added for http://sapserver.hosters-name:port the domain "hosters-name" to the compatibility view settings it is now working.
Internet Explorer Options => Settings for compatibility view => Add domain
