Desktop won't start and has no blue lights

My pavilion elite desktop has had a high pitch noise since I bought it. I read that the video card could cause that so I got a new video card but it made the same sound. I tracked the sound down to the psu. I returned the video card and got a new psu. The noise is got but the machine doesn't boot up now. All fans come on but no front panel lights no keyboard lights no monitor output. Tried putting the old psu back in. The noise was back but still no boot. I tried removing each piece of hardware till all I had was memory and hd left and still no lights. I swapped memory locations, sata cables, tried the card reader trick. Nothing seems to work. Could a blown led for the front panel cause it to not boot? That's the only connector I have left since I need it to power on.<br><br>Thanks for any ideas.

My ipod 2g won't restore and has an error. what do i do?

when i plug it in it says it needs to be restored. so when i click restore a box pops up that just says "software for this iphone is not currently available. make sure you have the latest version of itunes and try again." and that's it. thing is, i JUST downloaded itunes onto the computer i'm on. so obviously it's going to be the latest version. i have windows 7 on a pc and i don't know why it isn't working. the ipod screen is completely black and doesn't light up even if i do the lock/home screen reset thing.... ok now i just did that and the screen lit up to white.. and i did it again and it's black again and not turning back on. any help? anybody?

Where are you storing your iPhoto library? In your Pictures folder or on an external drive? Or are you trying to open an iPhoto library on a CD? If you save your iPhoto library to a CD, or DVD you need to copy it to a writable disk, before you can open it in iPhoto.
ANd what is your iPhoto version and your MacOS X version? What happened, directly, before the problem occured?

Firefox won't start, there is no error message and it is not already running.

When I try to click on firefox, the little wait icon appears and then disappears. Nothing opens, not even safe mode. I've looked at the "Firefox won't start and there is no error message" help section and looked at my task manager processes. It seems that when I click firefox, it briefly appears on my processes and then disappears. This happened yesterday while I was in the middle of using it. At the same time, my Skype also crashed, which makes me think the two are correlated. The two programs still don't work. The only way that I can open firefox is if I install it all over again with the "launch firefox now" option checked at the end. When I have a firefox window open, I can open other firefox windows just fine. When I close it, nothing opens. Thanks for your help.

Use Windows Explorer to open the folder containing your catalog. The normal location is Pictures\Lightroom. Locate a folder with the extension .lrdata and delete that folder. Then you should be able to start Lightroom again, and Lightroom will begin building and new previews folder. Do not delete anything else.

Ok people, I think I have found the solution !
If you click on the start button from your desktop screen.
Then in the "search programs and files" field type : apple software update - you can find the apple installer.
Click on the apple software update line and let the machine run it's course. I recommend updating whatever it wants to , ie: safari 5, quicktime, itunes....
I then restarted my computer and it seems to be working now !

Shockwave "won't respond" and "has crashed" in Google Chrome, IE, Firefox, can't use it anywhere. I already tried completely removing every file it has, reinstalling it, and I went through the process of reinstalling Adobe Flash a couple of times. I'm using a PC. This has been going on for 3 days, it hasn't worked even once. It all seemed to have started right after I updated Google chrome, but Shockwave won't work on any browser, so I'm not sure if that's the case. Please help!

I have removed the ecp site from default site and attempting to rerun SP1 now. I do not have high hopes. :(

Thanks for your response.
From the error description, you need to manually remove the ECP with IIS manager in both the Default Web Site and the Exchange Back End firstly. And then continue the upgrade to check the result.

There's an "updated.app" laying in Firefox package. Since firefox won't start and "updated.app" will, is it safe to replace firefox package with it?

After last update to last version, FF was running fine before a hardware restart.
Since then it won't start and profile manager either. No error message pops up and console window doesn't trace any event.
firefox package contents an "updated" package likely created by last update.
Will i loose my settings or run into any kind of problem by replacing firefox's package with the so called "updated" one?

To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

I have used the Article ID: 2249906 to try and resove this error. It only started since I have created a dediacted SQL 2008 Server on the network. This is my attempt, so far using icacls:

From your description it sounds as if you have two VMs trying to use the exact same virtual disk. And this is not possible without using differencing disks in between. (it will give the error you describe when trying to power on the second).
Beyond that, I would have expected the configuraiton change to work. Another possibility is simply creating a new VM using the existing virutal disk. This is non-descructive as well and absolutely re-creates all of the VM objects and generates
new security identifiers.
If that does not work, then there is more to this puzzle than has been mentioned here and you will need to provide greater detail.
