I have an Airport Express connected to my main Apple Base Station via WDS. An older iMac is connected to the Airport Express via ethernet. I have an iBook which I connect wirelessly with. Everything (network, internet, etc.) has worked flawlessly forever until recent probelm with the Airport Express. It will work for a while and then it stops. The green light is still on but no internet connectiion and no network. If I check using the Airport Admin tool, the Base Station is still there but the Airport Express is no longer listed. If I unplug the Airport Express and replug it in, it powers up and everything is fine for a while, but then it drops off again. I have tried both a hard and soft reset.
Recently upgraded OS X 10.4.4. Could that be related?

It sounds like interference or a weak signal. Try going into Airport Admin Utility and enabling Interference Robustness (under "Wireless Options...") on both the AEBS and AX.

My new WRE54G works for a bit then stops

Firstly I cannot begin to complain enough about what a faff this thing was to set up.
The supplied disk just "failed" to do a site survey every time i ran the setup.
In the end, i managed to get in through ethernet straight into my laptop. and configure it to my wireless router settings . . .
it was running WPA which i set it all up for, and success!
Two blue lights signal was boosted, everything was working great . . . for about 15 mins. then the link LED started flashing RED and i could no longer connect to the device on my wireless network!
Annoying, i decided (after many restarts - where it would work for a few mins then drop off again)
Maybe it's because i'm using WPA network? so changed the settings in all my wireless devices to WEP then changed the settings on the expander, then on my router, it connected fine, then again after around 15 mins, red light flashing again!
No booster working !!!
Can anyone suggest what the problem might be before i send this thing back to the shop,

What is the Model no of the router..?
Check the Wireless Channel on the router and the WRE...they should be identical.If they are same then,try changing the Channel to 11 on router and WRE..Also Change the Security Mode to WEP on both.

Airport express works for 1 minute then stops

I came back from vacation. restarted my mac mini + airport express + ...
Internet worked for 1 minute then stopped. I unplugged cable modem + airport. Restarted them. Internet worked for 1 minute the stopped. After it stopped working the light on the airport express stayed green. Computer was still connected with a strong signal.
I plugged the ethernet cable into mac and internet worked fine without issue.
I did a hard reset of airport express and had same issue as above.
Is my airport express shot? Why does it only work for 1 minute or so and then stop?

After waiting a few days, plugged in airport to try one more time and it now works fine. Not sure what the problem was, but it has had no issues since letting it stay unplugged for a few days.

If you are getting Siri when you double tap, then your home button must be sticking. Siri comes up when you hold the home button. Try tapping quickly twice. When that happens, the multi-tasking list comes up and you will see the app icon and then a thumbnail, or reduced size view of the app above it. You put your finger on that thumbnail and swipe upwards with your finger.
For that issue, you might want to do a reset of the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. This will not affect your data.

Photobooth works for one second, then stops.

It used to work. Like all the time.
I'm using a Logitech camera, which works fine in Skype and iChat. But when I open Photobooth, the camera turns on, works for a period of one second, then it stops. If Photobooth is open but behind another program, when I switch back to Photobooth I get a quick one second refresh of the image before it freezes up again.
When I Apple-T, I get the 3-2-1 countdown, then it takes a picture of the frozen image and adds it to the previous photos.
The camera is plugged into a USB 2.0 card I installed last year. Everything else on the card is working. I've even switched ports around, and everything is working (which makes sense, because the camera works in Skype and iChat.)
I was hoping to use the video function to record some voiceover stuff and then transfer the audio into iMovie.

I would try Repair Permissions.
This is done with Disk Utility found in Applications/Utilities using the First AID tab.
If that does not work I would Reset the PRAM
Hold down AppleALT+PR keys on restart until you have three start up bongs.
If that does not work I would download and install the Combo Installer of the OS level you are up to.

Strange issues with W7 shared Laserjet 1020 to XP machine - works for a while then stops

I have a principal with a Windows 7 machine and a Laserjet 1020 printer. The assistant Principal (XP machine) wants to print to his printer.
When the printer is shared - it will work for a day or two then it will stop responding. The print jobs from the W7 machine will just dissapear. They won't even go in the print que. Stopping and re-starting the print spooler doesn't help, power down of the printer doesn't help. The ONLY fix seems to be to delete the printer and re-install. HUGE pain!!!
I have made sure bi-directional is UNCHECKED and it still has these issues.
I re-installed the printer and didn't share it and it has now worked flawlessly for over a week.
But I really need this share to work! HELP!!! I've never seen a problem like this before!

Sending Mail works for a while then stops

Im having this issue since I upgraded to Lion... When I open mail I can send a couple of emails then its stops.. It looks like it doesnt recognize the stmp server anymore... so I close the program and then start again... I have another couple of emails i can send then it stops functionning... quite annoying... I erased my account and made a new one... same problem... anyone has an idea whats going on?

Close the Camera app on the device that took the photo. Photos won't upload from an iOS device to My Photo Stream until you close the Camera app.

Printer works for a while, then stops

I have an HP Photosmart D5460 printer which I bought on Black Friday that operates on a USB port. I was on here before because I couldn't get the printer to print anything. At that time, it needed a high speed USB driver. I did a search for one downloaded it on my computer, and then put in the installer cd for the printer to reinstall it.
After that, it printed fine. But now, it's not working. It's telling me that there is no printer installed. I don't know how many times I've installed that printer. It also acts like I didn't even install the USB driver.
The type of Windows version I use is Windows Vista.

Photostream works for a while, then stops and won't upload to iCloud anymore. Rebooting the phone resolves the issue. Anyone know why?

I have an iPhone 4S. Photo stream works for a while but then it will just stop and not upload any photos to iCloud. Rebooting the phone resolves the problem. This happens very often and is frustrating for something that should just work. Once they get uploaded, they are downloaded to other devices without a problem.
Any idea what could be going wrong with it? I hate taking pictures of stuff that I need on my other devices not knowing if they're going to make it there or not.

Can't generate Waveform in video - worked for a while then Stopped!

Importing mpg video had been working fine. I imported several, cleaned up the sound, then saved in flv format - no problems. Then suddenly it stopped. I still get the video, but no waveform - no audio.
Called tech support, wasted 2 hours with someone who didn't know anything other than reinstalling the software. Reinstalled, updated, still no good.
I vaguely remember that when I initially installed the 30-day trial version of CS4, the mpg audio (from Handycam) didn't work. Then when I purchased, I downloaded an update from Adobe that added support for other codecs. That's when it started working.
Any ideas on what updates/codecs that would be?
And now the media encoder drops the audio too, from the mpg's when converted to flv. that's why i'm thinking it's a simple codec issue but I'm not getting anywhere.

Right around that time this morning we had a problem with some of our browser servers that may have caused the issues you saw. Can you give us some details about what time you were testing, what url(s) you were testing, and which browsers you were testing?
Did you see any of your screenshots succeed, or were they all failing?
Regardless, we restored the servers fairly quickly and got everything working, is everything working ok for you now?

Airplay and iTunes, works for 1 minute then stops

I have used Windows 8 to install a previous version of Utility in order to set up the older airport express as it wont work on mountain lion (thanks Apple)
it's now recognised and I can play music via the iPad, but when i try to do multi room via the PC, it initially didn't work at all, but i read about changing to just WPA2 which i did and that actually gave me multi room, until i tested it and turned it off and on a few times, it then stopped finding it through iTunes and telling me it was in use.
I actually thought I'd fixed it and could answer loads of the other support questions on here, but it looks like i'm in the same position.

you could have a look at the "AirPlay Multiroom Player by WHAALE" iPad app which brings support for Multiroom audio on the iPad directly (without the need for a Mac or PC running).
Currently it supports playing iTunes music on up to 6 speakers simultaneously.
Please try the free App "AirPlay Speaker Tester" first to see if it is working with your current setup.

Copying large files to internal HD works for a bit, then freezes

Hello fellow Mac users,
I have a fairly heavily modified G4 Digital Audio. It was originally the 533Mhz model, then upgraded to a Dual 1.2. All in all, it is a workhorse, but I have a very strange issue that seems to be creeping up - when I copy files, particularly large ones (I originally thought greater that 4GB, but now it has happened to files that are less than 3GB). Files will start to copy just fine, then the progress bar will stop and the file transfer freezes. Sometimes I get the spinning pinwheel, sometimes not. When I press 'stop', it does nothing and I end up having to crash the machine and reboot.
I recently installed a Sonnet ATA/133 card and a large 300GB drive. The whole point of having a large drive like this is to copy large files, right? Seems that whenever I try to copy files to the new drive, the process begins and things are very quick, until it hits a particular file and then just stops.
There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with either the Sonnet ATA133 or the drive, necessarily. I've run Disk Warrior, repaired permissions, zapped PRAM and NVRAM. I've tried eliminating devices and nothing seems to really work. The new drive is a Maxtor 300GB. The jumper setting was set to 'CS Enabled'. I'm not really sure what that means. I then changed it to Master and made sure that is was the master on the ATA bus, but the problem persists either way.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had trouble copying large files (I'm sure many of you have installed large drives on a G4), if this is an anomoly, or if any of you have any advice.

Update as to how I got it to work:
I did get it to work... although it's still a little perplexing as to exactly why:
I mentioned previously that I'd switched the jumpers on the HD's from 'CS enabled' to 'Master'. This actually made things worse. Files started freezing after only copying 100MB or so. So I switched them back. Once I switched the jumpers back to 'CS enabled', things started working. I even copied over an 86GB MP3 folder in under an hour! This solution is odd, as I'm sure that this is how I had it set previously. However, maybe something wasn't connecting right or the computer was finally in the mood to do it... I don't know.. but I am grateful that it's working...

Verizon iPhone 5 not sending or receiving texts. iMessage worked for a day then stopped or messages were severely delayed.

New iPhone 5 on Verizon will not send or receive texts. In the beginning iMessage worked for about a day and then messages started to be delayed by hours. Eventually even these messages were not being sent. Reset network settings followed by a soft re-boot land still no change. Any ideas?

For iMessage problems, try this:
- Sign out of iMessage
- Reset your network settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- Sign back in to iMessage

When i try to put music on my ipod classic my laptop will put songs on for a bit then stops and erases my ipod. why is this happening?

When i tryed to add new music to my ipod classic it added it fine but when i went to play it some songs wouldnt start playing and skipped to next songs. i restored my ipod like it said to. when i wnet to put all my music back on it went through a bunch and then all of a sudden it stopped and one song about half mway through it and then i got a messege ballon saying windows couldnt find the file to sync to or something like that. whewn i ejeckted my ipod it was blank no music that had been synced was on there whats going on?

There are a couple of things you can try to do at this point. The first is to temporarily disable your PC's AntiVirus/security software as it may be interferring with the sync process causing it to timeout and corrupt your iPod's filesystem, which in return erases all content from your iPod.
Also, double check to make sure you are plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port and not an older USB 1.0 port as it may not provide enough juice/power to allow a successful sync. This means you shouldn't plug your iPod into any sort of USB hub, a keyboard with the built in USB port, or into a USB port on the front of the PC itself as they are not connected directly to the motherboard and do not provide as much power.
Lastly, try temporarily removing any other USB peripherals (minus keyboard and mouse) and try the sync process again to see if that helps. If it does, it's likely a driver conflict with the different devices or that with each plug it, the iPod isn't allowed enough power to complete a successful sync.
You may need to remove and re-install iTunes as well as there may be some corrupt files.

So I just got my new iPod touch4g and it's been a few weeks and now all of a sudden my screen has been flickreing like the brightness is to high so I did put it for low then it stopped I restored it and the same thing again please help

Correction: I plugged my iPod back into my mac, it backed up/updated etc. and now when I go to my music, it returns me to the home screen. What is going on!?
