AE2020 Windows 8 touch screen troubles

I did a fresh intall of Windows 8.
The touchscreen does not work.
I installed the IdeaCom Touch Screen 3.3.4200.04 Driver.  the hardware does not show up in it's utility.
Also it did not install the Coprocessor driver correctly.  Showing an error in device manager.
    Thanks

How did you get your windows 8?
I have installed my version from the action pack and the touchscreen works. Are you using an OEM copy? If so the below applies
"order to promote the best “touch” experience on PCs, OEM System Builder software for Windows 8 will only support touch functionality on hardware that has been certified for touch in Windows 8. When buying Windows 8 System Builder software, look for hardware that carries the “Windows 8 Compatible” logo and that has passed certification for touch capability. Touch hardware that is not certified for Windows 8 and does not include a special code provided to OEMs during the certification process and injected into the touchscreen’s firmware will not work once the System Builder product is installed; meaning that the PC will not be touch-enabled after Windows 8 is installed.
Whenever customers are looking to upgrade a touch PC with a previous version of Windows, they should be directed to purchase the retail Windows 8 Upgrade SKUs. In addition, we recommend customers who are considering the Windows 8 System Builder product should be advised about the touch limitation to avoid any potential dissatisfaction.
Remember that purchasing Windows 8 System Builder software for personal use does not come with support from Microsoft.

  • Help to pick-out a new windows 8 touch screen laptop

I Don't need to most expensive or the cheapest. I guess I want the most bang for my buck. I am not up-to-date on my PCs so I need your help. Just reply with your thoughts and ideas. I've always had Hp but it has been 3 years since I have bought a new laptop. I have a few android tablets but no new laptop. The main one I use now is a 64 bit windows 7 with 2.2GHz duel core 17" screen and 4gb ram. It still works just fine but I'm thinking about a faster PC and want the touch screen like my tablets. No resistive touch screens if they even make them anymore.
    Looking for the following
    windows 8
    touch screen
    i7 or same in amd
    8 gb or more ram
    not sure about the rest
Please give me your opinion or advice. if you could buy anything at best buy, which ones and why? PS I game on the PS3 (soon on the PS4) but not on the PC and I don't like lag or buffering in any way.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

hmmm, from what you are telling me, I would suggest this laptop:
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+15.6%22+Touch-Screen+Laptop+-+8GB+Memory+-+750GB+Hard+Drive+-+Bla...
I would suggest because I am an asus fan myself, I have always used them as my go to manufacturer with my motherboards on any custom built PC i put together. They are a very reputable name, and are very well made. It should meet all your needs, has 750 GBs of hard drive space (gives you enough room for all the HD pictures and videos!) as well as plenty of ram and an i7 Processor. The ONLY thing i see that might be slightly better is a couple of the sony vaios have solid state drives, and that is a nice plus. Faster boot times, faster read/write speeds. But as you said you didn't want something to make you spend more if it was not a big difference and while it would be a difference, I don't see it being THAT big of a difference for yourself. If you can find a local best buy that has that Asus, I would suggest going in to check it out if its on display. Get a feel for it and see if you like the keyboard. That is a big MUST on buying a laptop, making sure you like the keyboard!
I hope this helped! post any other questions if you like!
Even though I work for best buy, my posts and thoughts are that of my own and do NOT represent best buy in ANY WAY.

  • Re: IdealCentre A720 , Windows 8 Touch Screen Problem

Hi, Do anyone knows where to get Windows 8 Touch Screen driver for Idealcentre A720. I called up... No answer for solutions.. Please help. Thanks

    hi NetSurfer,
AFAIK, Windows 8 has an INF driver database that automatically installs the Touch Screen driver whenever a touch screen capable device is installed (it's like a usb device that's plug and play).
If you're having issues with the Touch Screen, try to:
    1. Calibrate the Touch Screen (see page 18 of the User's Guide)
    2. If you're getting touch screen insensitive issue, check this article.
    Hope this helps.

  • Windows 7 Touch Screen and Video Drivers for HP Pavilion tx1219us

Updated to windows 7 and can't find drivers for the Video Driver and Touch Screen.  Can anyone help me?

    Bummer...
That is even an older GPU than the GMA 900.
It is an Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller.
OK... I have a possible driver you can use for that.  No guarantee it will work great but it should work...
Here is the link to my OneDrive folder.
    https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=832F4957D2E51B93%21263
Download and unzip the file labeled Intel 82865g Driver (Vista - Win7).
You have to use the manual install method like you did with the other 2.
    Good luck!

  • Miix 10 Windows 8 Touch screen problem

I am using this tablet for last 5 months. There was no problem but I faced a problem with the upper part of the touch screen. About 1.5 cm lenth of upper part of screen is not working. The rest is ok. There is no problem with display but I cannot click on that part.
First I think that maybe I have changed some setting accidently but I couldn't find any related setting about defining the touch screen area.
Is there any solution or do I need to change the screen ?

  • Windows 10 - Touch screen doesn't work

After updating my Lenovo Yoga 2 the Spotify Desktop application no longer understands the touch screen at all. It works normally with everything else. And by 'not at all' I literally mean that as if the screen would not be a touch screen. I can't left click, righ click, scroll, etc. Touch pad works normally.

I found a quick fix using Spotify's 'Connect' feature released a few updates ago. Doesn't work well if you don't have another device though. My set-up: Windows 10 on Dell Inspiron 3000 (upside-down on my desk so it's touch only), Macbook Pro, iPhone, Spotify Premium. Open Spotify on Windows Computer + second device (iPhone, iPad, Mac, other Windows, etc..) and make sure you're signed into your account on both devices. On iPhone/iPad:1.   Select the song/playlist you want and play it (then pause it)
    2.   At the very bottom of the iPhone screen press the white sound icon
    3.   It should have taken you to a black screen with multiple white device images at the top, underneath that should be your iPhone/iPad in green and then your Window's Computer name in white
    4.   Select your Windows computer name from that list (i.e. "Amy's Computer")
    5.   Press Play (if it doesn't start playing after a few seconds, I've gotten it to work by going back to the sound icon and play with the volume a little)
    6.   Boom! Remotely control Spotify on your windows from your phone Macbook (Probably not the easiest option unless you listen to music on a different computer than you use normally):1.   Select the song/playlist you want and play it (then pause it)
    2.   At the bottom-right side of your application window is the volume level + a sound icon in grey - select it
    3.   A small black callout window appears saying "CHOOSE DEVICE TO PLAY ON"
    4.   Select your Windows computer name from that list (i.e. "Amy's Computer")
    5.   Press Play (same as above if it doesn't start playing after a couple seconds)
    6.   Boom! Remotely control Spotify on your windows from your Mac I would assume the logic is similar across all the platforms, but what I don't know is whether or not this works for non-premium members. It's a little annoying - but it works fine for my setup until Windows/Apps figure out where they've 'lost touch' ;)  Hope this helps!

  • Windows 7 Touch screen issues

I have a need on a windows 7 Restive touch device to have a touch and hold function just like a mouse click and Hold. Currently by default this works as a right click, disabling tap and hold to right click does not resolve the issue. This is the scenario:The touch screen is an HMI, it is used to control a PLC. I have a button that "Jogs" a motor. The motor will run at a slow speed in one direction as long as the button on the screen is held down.I can do this action in XP with no issue using third parting touch screen software specific to the display and I can do it on the Windows 7 system with the mouse. The system I have does not appear to have specific software for the display rather that display takes care of the translation and then sends commands to the OS. Cool except I don't have the function I need. Anyone have issues with...

  • Windows 10 touch screen

My Hp 23tm monitor does not operate in a touch screen mode on Windows 10.  Any idea how to enable this feature?  The current driver download is for a 32 bit, and my computer is 64, if that helps

If you are experiencing the issue the touch screen is only working as a mouse and not as a multi touch, the issue is caused by the eGalaxTouch that was pushed by Windows Update. To resolve this, I just uninstalled the driver for the touchscreen under Mice and Other pointing device in the Device Manager. Remember to delete the driver option then rescan for computer changes. Hope this helps out.

  • Windows 10 Touch Screen not working?

Mine works partially. Control Panel>>Systems says I have no pen or touch screen. Touching the screen works just as if I were using the mouse. Instead of scrolling through the start menu, for example, scrolling with my fingers causes the tiles to relocate. This is what would happen if MS wrote only an onClick() function where they should have had onClick() and onTouch(). Surely they're not that incompetent. Well...

Hi I had the same problem and found the best solution for the computer. Although hp always recomends that you have the newest updates to keep your computer running, one oh hp's newest touch screen drivers is not compatible with windows 10. So your best bet at getting your multi-touch compatibility working on your touch screen again is to use the previous driver. So these are the steps that helped me solve this issue. Step 1: Press the windows start button + the "x" keyStep 2: Select "Device Manager" from the list of optionsStep 3: Click the drop down menu for "Mice and other pointing devices"Step 4: If you have 2 drivers there then you have found the correct driver (If there is only one I will include instructions on how to find the correct driver for your computer)Step 5: Select your touch screen driver from within "Mice and other pointing devices" and double click on it to bring up the advanced optionsStep 6: Click on the "Driver" tab from within that newly opened windowStep 7: Click "Roll Back Driver"(That should have reset to the last touch screen driver your computer had. If you have removed the driver that I had you should now only have one driver in the "Mice and other pointing devices" drop down menu and you should have a few new drivers in the "Human Interface Devices" drop down menu)Step 8: Restart your device so that the computer can configure the changes in driversIf all goes well your touch screen should work like new again Now for those who had a single driver in the "Mouse and pointing devices" drop down menu~Complete steps one and two like you had in your first attemptStep 3: Click the drop down for "Human interface Devices"Step 4 : Look for the driver labeled "HID-compliant touch screen"Step 5: Select the driver by double clicking on itStep 6: Click on the "Driver" tabStep 7: Click "Roll back Driver"If the device was successfully rolled back go ahead and restart your device to let windows configure the device changes. If worked like it was supposed to your touch screen should work the way you want it.

  • How can i use a stylus in photoshop cc on a windows 8 touch

hi i want to paint using a jot flip sytlus on a windows 8 touch screen but it is not brushing as it needs a left cklick on a mouse to work

Hi Sheryl.  I must admit, I looked at your post earlier, and it was too obscure to get a handle on (did I really just say 'handle'? ).  But I think I can see where you are coming from now.  Yes, the manipulation of paths has changed a wee bit with CC, but it is pretty intuitive, and a lot of it will still work fine using your old methodology.
Take a look at some of these Julieanne Kost blog posts
    https://blogs.adobe.com/jkost/tag/path-selection-tool
I find the most reliable way to make individual point selection work first time every time, is to select the Direct Selection tool > and with the shape/path layer selected, drag a tiny marquee around your target point.  You can then click drag that point to edit the shape or path.
But there are so many ways to do the sort of thing you are talking about.  If you make a copy of the text layer, and make the lower of the two in the layer stack bigger (Free Transform with Alt Shift) you can then turn that lower text layer into a path or shape to manipulate it.
Or you could add a broad stroke around the text on a new layer.  Ctrl click the stroke to load it as a selection, and turn the selection into a path using the icon at the bottom of the Paths panel, and then manipulate its points.  If you want to make the stroke a solid filled layer, then I don't know of a better way than dragging a marquee around the inner points wth Direct Selection tool, and hitting Delete.
It's an interesting subject, so please keep asking about anything you are not sure about.

  • TX2616au touch screen doesn't work after upgrading to windows 7

    Hi,
I just got my TX 2616AU multi-touch tablet few days, it came with Windows Vista ,and the WACOM touch screen worked perfectly, by the pen and my finger as well.
I got a Windows 7 Ultimate and decide to upgrade the system. The upgrading process was all right, after the upgrading everything worked fine but the touch screen. It didn't response my finger-touching any more, worked with the pen but the pen was running crazy.
So I downloaded and installed ALL drivers for Windows 7 from HP website for this model tablet, everything looked fine but the problem's still there. I searched internet and followed some advice, downloaded the driver from WACOM for Windows Vista and installed it, it reported a error, gave me a BLUE SCREEN then restarted and then the pen got back to normal, thanks GOD! But it still refused to response my finger-touch, Im out of idea...
    Any suggestion would be appreciated!
    Ted

    Hi
I think the Flash Card support Utility and the Value Added Package would solve the issue but Im not quite sure if the links posted by Jeka are right
Please visit the Toshiba European driver page and choose your notebook model.
Then download the Flash Card support Utility and the Value Added Package for Win 7 64bit!!
Ensure that VAP should be installed at first and then Flash card support utility

  • Excel 2013 BeforeRightClick Event fails on Windows 8.1 Tablet (it's an Excel 2013 tablet touch screen interface bug)

I have developed customized table context menus in an Excel 2013 workbook on my Laptop. They work just fine on my laptop and my work desktop. But when I try to run them on my tablet PC the Worksheet_BeforeRightClick event in Excel 2013 never fires. Other
worksheet events appear to work okay. I have fully reinstalled Office 2013 Pro and that does not make any difference.
I have read other comments regarding this same problem going back to 2013, but have never seen Microsoft respond to this issue. Nor have I been able to find a resolution. Has anyone else run into this and found a solution?
Additional Discoveries: Testing on my tablet shows that adding one custom CommandBarButton to either the top or the bottom of the default "List Range Popup" context menu causes the Worksheet_BeforeRightClick event to fail.  The basic context
menu commands still show up, but the default dropdown button for additional context menu commands disappears. The event is perhaps firing, but any customized code for the context menu is not being handled properly by Excel. This does appear to be a bug and
not a question of coding error. Perhaps someone else with a tablet PC running WIndows 8.1 could test this.
    Based on comments
here this bug was introduced in Excel 2013 because others find the problem does not exist when using Excel 2010 on a tablet PC. Note that all the commenters on the linked thread that are experiencing this problem are using tablet PCs.
Update 3-13-15: I stand corrected. The Worksheet_BeforeRightClick does work on Excel 2013 Windows 8.1 tablets. I happen to own an Asus VivoTab Note 8, which comes with a Wacom stylus. If I use the Wacom sylus to right click on an Excel 2013 worksheet cell,
the Worksheet_BeforeRightClick event fires and modified context menu code runs just fine. But the code will not run if one uses their finger to right click a worksheet cell. This explains why this problem only shows up on tablet PCs. So the "bug"
introduced in Excel 2013 is a general user touch screen interface bug and not an Excel events programming bug.
Update 3-21-15: Switched to a  Toshiba Protege laptop with touch screen. Same issue with finger touch screen interface on the Toshiba touch screen as with the Asus VivoTab touch screen.
Laptop: Toshiba Protege (with touch screen), Windows 8.1 64bit and MSOffice 2013 Pro 32bit
Tablet: Asus VivoTab Note 8, Windows 8.1 32bit and MSOffice 2013 Pro 32 bit
Desktop: Generic, Windows 7 64bit and MSOffice 2013 Pro 64bit

    Hello Phil,
Command bars were deprecated and shouldn't be used any longer. Instead, you need to use the Fluent UI (aka Ribbon UI) instead. You can read more about the new UI in the following series of articles in MSDN:
Customizing Context Menus in Office 2010
Customizing the 2007 Office Fluent Ribbon for Developers (Part 1 of 3)
Customizing the 2007 Office Fluent Ribbon for Developers (Part 2 of 3)
Customizing the 2007 Office Fluent Ribbon for Developers (Part 3 of 3)
As a workaround you can add a custom control to the context
menu with the getEnabled or getVisible callback which will be invoked before the context menu is shown.
