Hey when will you guys update the driver for the AE2500 and/or E4200v2 firmware? I Keep losing connection. Thanks!

The software version is dependent on the product code, so if you are told that you have the no update is available then you have the latest SW version for your product code.
Apart from the fact that product codes are usually unique to a country (and in some cases to a network operator), you shouldn't have any issues regarding your region.

According to Nokia (http://europe.nokia.com/A4577225), there should be a firmware update available for the E71 (update from version 100.07.76 to 110.07.127.
I checked my product code (0569803) on http://europe.nokia.com/A4577224 "Can I update my Nokia device software?" and it tells me, that there is no update available:
"Latest available software for Nokia E71, product code 0569803
Version: 100.07.76" (> same firmware version which I currently have on my phone.)
Does anybody know, when there will be a firmware update available for the E71 with product code 0569803?

I have an e71-1 (RM-346) and to this day i still cannot get an update. the phone freezes on mid answer and yet i still cannot fix it the phone came with firmware 200.21.118 and the nokia site says they are aup update 300.21.114 and other telling me they ave version 400.00.00 on theirs

Firmware update available for 6230?

new to this so sorry if its all been said before.
I have a 6230 that I am loathe to get rid of, its a good phone, I wondered if there was a firmware update available for my current phone and how much Nokia charge for updating it as it is out of warranty.
Any help/advice would be most appreciated.

The issues with the 6233 in a carkit are well publicised within these forums, I'll just give you a brief rundown.
No 'lights on always' option, some say this is because of some EU directive, however it is rumoured that the 6233 is prone to screen burn. Either way it's a downright danger at night because your eyes down have time to adjust to the brightness when someone calls you or if you chose to make a call.
You cannot record your own voicetags, an automatic voicetag system is in place for all contacts meaning for example instead of recording your own tag for the contact 'John A Mobile' as 'John', you'll have to say 'John A Mobile' and hope the 6233 understands you and doesn't either give you a list or pick the wrong contact altogether.
Key 2 is now reserved for the video mailbox, so you cannot assign it as a speed dial key.
Ring/Alert tones set at level 5 (maximum) do not ringout at full blast at first, they ascend. Not really an issue with a carkit, just annoys me as I can barely hear the SMS tone.
Apart from all the above, I find the 6233 really good for texting and as a 3g bluetooth modem.
If I had the choice again I'd either stick with the 6230 or put the money towards an offline 6230i for the slightly larger screen and because you don't have to change the cradle.

Sound Blaster Tactic3D Rage Wireless - Driver and Firmware update, now it's frozen?????????

Just recieved my headphones yesterday - plugged it in and charged it = works. I then decided to download the newest drivers and firmware and went straight to bed. This afternoon, suddenly no sound is detected, what so ever! The USB Power LED flashes slowly and a constant red glow is showing at my headphones.. When I try to re-pair it, the USB Power LED flashes rapidly as it should, but neither the Mic Mute button, nor the Connect Button on the headphones responds.. It feels like the headset is simply just frozen right after the new driver/firmware installation.
I've tried everything pretty much.. Went from Wireless to USB to see if that helped, but it didnt. Tried to remove / setback the drivers, still dosn't work. Headphones is just completely frozen with no buttons working and a constant red glowing light - can't be turned off or restarted!!!
WHAT TO DO?!?

My headphones just ran out of power during the day = it resetted itself. I then connected it again and re-paired it. Atm it's working perfectly fine again. I will now try to reinstall the Control Panel, not the driver though, hopefully it will work this time and wont make the headphones go into "non-responding-retarded-mode" once again :-)
Conclusion: For me it felt like it was either the Drivers or the Firmware update, maybe both, which made my headphones "crash", or atleast not respond to any command / buttons pushed. If anyone faces the same or similar problems as me, due to installation of drivers/firmware, let your headset run out of power (if you as me, don't know how to remove the battery manually) and just reconnect it :-) Should work then.

E61i Firmware Update Available Again

According to the www.celladdictblog.blogspot.com , the E61i firmware update is available again, anyone can confirm this? and if so any improvements? bugs?

I don't think the story at the above link is news. I have just checked for an upgrade on my phone, Scandinavian region and the latest is the one I've had since about last November: 2.0633.65.01.
There maybe updates for other regions, of course...

New 'anti-flicker' firmware update available...

...apparently posted today, 1 February, and available through Apple software updates. For 27" iMacs.
There's no real explanation of what it fixes or how...just a sentence or two of what it is supposed to do.

It works, and it works well.
This is a firmware update for the actual LCD Display in the 27" iMac, not the graphics card.
The video corruption/flickering/blanking goes away after applying this update.... it works great!

Recently nokia UK has been up to two months behind for firmware updates.

RAID Driver and Firmware updates?

In my continuing "learing activities"
I found that when Vista SP1 installed the RAID Drivers were V6.xxxx from sometime back in 2007
I found V 8.7.0.1007 of the RAID drivers on the intel site.

After I installed them I did get a nice GUI manager program showing all the drives and staus and so on and
at boot up a item shows up on the task bar for a short time indicating RAID status... then the icon disappears again...Anyway...
On to my real question... Lenovo offically has the drivers at 7.6.xxx

These would match my (as-delivered) RAID firmware level which is also at 7.6.xxx
I recall times when miss-matched firmware vs. driver levels can cause issues on IBM server machines.
I'm wondering if that is the case here, and if so I can not see a place to download the FIRMWARE upgrades....???
I was miss-matched before with s/w level 6.x and firmware 7.x now I'm still miss-matched...
Wondering if I should drop back to Lenovo V7.6 software drivers so that I AM matched up...
(This is still a "test" config so no harm done in any event ... I'm just playing....)

A valid drivefrom an array IS recognized if plugged into a different port on the motherboard
a rebuild is automatically kicked off.
if the drive rebuilds when moved then the system is assuming a failure.   afaik, drives cannot move ports without the system assuming something has failed, even if the drive itself is healthy.
yes, it did kick off a rebuild, I was just a bit surprised that it recognized it as HD member of the array since somewhere in the docs I read that the SAME port must be used when replacing a drive ... I had just "assumed" (yeah, I know about the "assume" word   ;-) ....) that the manager was doing it's thing JUST based on port assignments -- I guess there is a RAID signature on the actual drive somewhere...
The SATA port numbers on the motherboard do NOT correspond to the numbers reported in the RAID manager s/w. Motherboard numbering starts @ 1 while RAID mgr starts at 0.
socket 0 is the FDD socket.   i believe the RAID manager starts the first drive of the first array at 0 regardless of which sockets the array populates.
Hmmmmmmm that's not what I'm seeing .. I have a "regular" 34-pin cable connection on the MB for the FDD... which I am not using.. as I have the mult-card reader. I plugged my 2 optical drives into the two SATA ports on the front edge of the MB ( labeled #1 & #2) then plugged my two 1TB drives into MB ports 3 and 4 (which I have in a RAID1) and have the 250GB drive on MB port #5 with #6 being empty.
The RAID Mgr s/w reports that ports 0 & 1 are optical, ports 2 & 3 are used for the RAID1 port 4 is the 250Gb and 5 is unused. Not a big deal ... just not what I expected.
Since there is no easy way to tell which drive in an array has failed (no blinking LEDs like on the big server boxes) one needs to be careful to swap the correct drive in the event of a failure....
that's a feature i'd like to see in future models.   some sort of visual (and audible, for that matter) indication of drive status using simple red and green LEDs would be great.
in my case, without the LSI MegaRAID Storage Manager software, i'd have no idea what any of my five SAS drives were doing.   i found it on LSI's site purely by dumb luck. in the event of a drive failure, it's set up to show a visual warning on the screen, email my personal account, and send a message to my blackberry.   if something happens, i'll definitely know about it.

After a bit of experimenting it turns out that somehow the update either defaults to a CUPS definition that causes this weird behavior or the old profile tigether with the update is problematic. It I download the current drivers at Brother and change to Brother HL-5250DN BR-Script 3 all is well.

E50 RM-171 No firmware update available

I have a Nokia E50 without camera, model RM-171, with code 0536145. The latest software version for this model is 06.41.3.0, which has numerous bugs.
One bug which is extremely annoying in combination with my carkit is the one that causes the phone to reset itself upon an incoming call. Oher RM-171's with different codes have update v 07.05.0.0 and do not have this problem.

XAV-701HD firmware update

I am having trouble upgrading the firmware on my XAV-701HD. I followed the instructions here:

I've downloaded the zip file and extracted it. I've copied the extracted files to a USB drive, so that BIN file is located on the USB here: /update/update/SONYXAV.BIN .I've connected the USB to my XAV-701HD.
On my XAV-701HD, in the Settings Menu under Firware Version, the current Firmware Version is displayed: HR10_xav_1.12.001
When I choose the "Update" button, the "Firmware Update Available" screen appears. It says:
New Firmware Version
HR10_xav_1.12.001 --> ---
Update system firmware?
Two buttons are below, "Cancel" and "Update". My problem is that the "Update" button is disabled and nothing happens when I tap it. Perhaps the new version of the firmware that is on the USB should be displayed instead of the three hyphens (---) on this screen, but it is not.
I've tried placing the SONYXAV.BIN file at the root level of the USB drive and also under the first /update folder, but it hasn't helped. I've also tried a completely different USB drive.
Any idea what. is wrong? Thanks for your help.

DVD Firmware update anywhere?

The optical drive to my powerbook generally works flawlessly, except for a few of the TV series in my collection. These seem to work fine in my DVD player from 2002, but they won't even mount with the PB's optical drive. Their foreign titles, which may have something to do with it, so I was wondering if there was some firmware update available that would fix this. I've religiously updated everything on my machine via Software Update, but that doesn't seem to help.
My drive specs are as below:

Either the DVDs are in a wrong region code (you can change the region code in Apple's DVD player a few number of times only) or they use some kind of anti-piracy protection that is not compatible with your Mac.
A firmware update may solve the issue, but it is also likely that you destroy your drive (and lose any warranty, if any) when updating the firmware.
There is no official firmware update provided by Apple nor by the original manufacturer. Anything you find on the Internet (especially such firmware modifications allowing to play DVDs with any region code) is probably unauthorized by the manufacturer.
In order to find such a firmware update, you may search through the Internet a bit, I don't think that anybody here can (will) assist you (especially since such posting would get deleted very quickly by one of the admins
