AE7 Bridge shows no animation

In AfterEffecs 7 - I go to "Browse Presets" then select e.g. "text", but do not see any animated display of what the effects do. Clicking on the icons brings the icon to the preview window, but all I see is the icon.
Kindof stuck here... Any help?
Bent

After a little reseach (I Googled "AE7 install quicktime") it seems there is a problem with AE7 and the latest QT 7.4x version - this is what they say:
"There have been some interesting developments with the release of the QuickTime 7.4 update. Apparently, it disables After Effects 7 and will not permit users to complete rendering videos. There have been some arguments about what is causing this error, with some claiming it is related to DRM, while others claim it is nothing more than a preferences bug.
Nevertheless, you can not revert back to a previous version of QuickTime once you have updated. In short: After Effects 7 users, beware! Avoid the QT7.4 update at all costs, lest you want to deal with a major headache."
I found this on http://www.studiodaily.com/blog/?p=384
Now what?

  • Bridge shows always the same JPGs files crippled

    Hi together,
since yesterday Bridge shows *some* JPGs in a destroyed preview (or no preview).
Screenshot of the Bridge preview panel:
    The curiosity:
I have deleted all the Bridge Cache (manually in "users/library/caches/...."), also the exported cache files in the affected folders.
Then copied the affected files to another folder and renamed them all, hope that Bridge "forged" some preferences I might have not deleted.
I started Bridge new with Option-key and reseted all preferences and all "Caches".
Result: => No affect: The previews are generated new in the same wrong kind as before. For some JPEG-files there are no preview rendered.
Of course these files are all correct, I can open it in Photoshop or in Mac Preview – but in the Camera Raw Window the files are show destroyed.
It drives me crazy because all other folders are not affected – and also no RAW-files are affected, so the ACR seem correct working.
Searching in the web brought no results for me in this special case.
Perhaps anyone of you have a clue?
    Thanks in advance!
    Juergen

What you show is NOT the Bridge Preview Panel but the Bridge CONTENT panel.
I'm flying blind here because you have provided no details.

  • CS4 shows faded image in monitor compared to what LR & Bridge shows.

I processed Canon RAW files using LR 2.3, generate jpeg files and view these Jpeg files in Bridge CS4.  Both LR and Bridge shows brilliant colors, but when I open the same files in Photoshop CS4. the images looks faded.  Of course, I view the images on the same monitor and even put them side by side.  This is the first time I have encountered such situation.  I printed some images and they are very close to what LR and Bridge shows.  Both LR and PS have Adobe 1998 as color space. I have attached a screen shot of the same file side by side. First in LR, then Bridge and last PS.  Although the files prints with very good colors as seen in LR or Bridge, it is unsettling to see  faded images in PS, especially when the images will be part of a composite or layout.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Additional info: Canon 40D, LR 2.3, CS4 V11.01, 24 inch iMac.

My guess is that PS color managememnt is set up incorrectly. For example, it may be set to ignore profiles embedded into images or the "desaturate monitor color got checked by accident". Look at the screenshot attached and tell us how is it different from your set up (except for the RGB working space).
Also, make sure Soft Proofing is not turned on in PS.

  • Bridge showing tiff photos in greyscale.

In CS5 Bridge shows Jpeg photos in color and Tiff photos in greyscale.  How do I correct this
    raspurr

Bridge is just a file browser so they just show what is there.
If you open in Photoshop are they greyscale or color?

  • Bridge shows "COPYRIGHT UNKNOWN"

when i put metadata on my pictures, and in the metatdata template the copyright status is "copyright protected", bridge shows in the "copyright status" unknown. if i open these files in photoshop there is no © in the title bar.

Hi!  I'm new to the Adobe CS4 eLearning suite, which includes Bridge CS4.  I just made the same discovery you did about the inability to select "Copyright Status" as "Copyrighted" in the core metadata of a template, and was astonished at that oversight on Adobe's part.  I found that I was able to use Omke's File, File Info (or just right-click an image and choose File Info...), then Export to create a new, correct template that will include "Copyrighted" as default metadata from within Bridge itself; I didn't have to open an image in Photoshop (I'm not on a mac, so I don't know if that's a difference).  I then used Replace Metadata on the few folders of images I had downloaded so far, and then deleted the old incomplete metadata template to avoid any future confusion.  But while you note that this has been an issue since CS3, this seems a major and fixable goof on Adobe's part.  I'm going to look in the enhancement requests forum, and if it's not already there, I'm adding it.  The "Copyright Status" field should be one of the editable fields when creating a metadata template so that we have that option up front.  That's kind of the whole point of metadata, after all.  So thanks for bringing this up, and Omke, thanks for the solution to creating a template that includes "Copyrighted"!

  • Bridge shows wrong pdf size

I'm browsing a folder of Photoshop pdf documents, with 4000x3000 pixels size but bridge shows 1134x850 size instead of the correct size.
    Any idea why ?
    Thanks

I have seen a similar post in last 2 weeks, but think it was on photoshop forum.
Took a quick look but nothing jumped out at me.
Don't remember the exact answer, but it is not really an incorrect size but has something to do with ??    Sorry can't remember.  Check the dimension in Wn Exp and see how they compare.
Message was edited by: Curt Y  I think it has to do with the resolution.

  • Why doesn't Preview.app show me animated .gifs?

I made an animated .gif with Macromedia Fireworks and it opens up perfect on a Windows Platform. But on my MacBook only the first frame opens and stays still as a single image.
Once I open the .gif, in the Preview's Drawer, it shows me all of the single images that are supposed to be seen continously as an animation. But I repeat, no animation is played back.
    Help please, thank you.
    MacBook 13" Black   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

This is from the preview help document. What you are seeing is what is described for preview.
    Viewing animated GIFs
An animated GIF is a graphic file that shows a short animation. Preview lets you look at each frame in the animation as an individual still image.
Open the animated GIF file in Preview.
If the window's drawer isn't already visible, choose View > Drawer.
The drawer contains a thumbnail image for the animated GIF. The number of frames in the animation appears in the lower-right corner.
Click the triangle beside the thumbnail image.
Preview shows all the frames in the animated GIF. When you click a frame, the animation stops and Preview displays that frame.

  • Bridge showing generic Camera Raw thumbnails

Hi! I'm having trouble getting my Adobe Bridge to show the thumbnails for my camera raw files. I'm using Bridge 5.1, updated Raw plug in, as well as followed everything from this site Generic icons | Camera raw files | Adobe Bridge - to no avail. I'm using Camera Raw version 6.7.0.339.
I'm shooting with a Nikon D7100 (which is in the supported list of Camera Raw) and I'm running a Macbook Pro on OS X Yosemite version 10.10.
Attached is a screen shot of my plug in folder. If I need to show anything else to help diagnose this problem, please let me know! I just started shooting in Raw and I LOVE It, but hate not being able to see my thumbnails. .jpg's show just fine in Bridge.
Thank you so much for your help,
    Jordan

DNG = Digital NeGative.  New camera support requires new profiles.  In this situation a DNG is Adobe’s combination of the original raw data and newer camera profiles, so that older ACR plug-ins can then use to decode the data.
The DNG Converter is available at the Downloads / Updates link I gave, earlier.  Download and install it, then run it on a folder of NEFs and convert that folder to DNGs.  Those DNGs will then be visible in the older Bridge/ACR.
You can get PS-CC for $10/month with the Photography Plan and it would be a pretty tight budget that can’t afford that, but ok:

  • Bridge shows jpg incorrectly?

Maybe I have a setting wrong, please help.
    Just installed acr7.3 and cs6.
I have previously saved jpgs but wanted to play with POSSIBLE settings in the new ACR.
Ok so I make some changes and only say DONE.. I do not open and resave.
Going back to Bridge.. the preview now shows me the 'new' acr tweaked version and that
jpg will NOT open in CS6 again without going through bridge to apply the tweaks I made.
Problem is, the jpg itself is still saved the OLD way and I want that version back.
How do I get the bridge to show the saved jpg that I have, once I play with it in acr???
    confused.. help appreciated!

teach me to look fast while serving lunch to a toddler (and the mindless chatter that goes with it..)  it IS there also, blush.. I feel stupid now but that's normal for me when I multitask these days.  thanks again, it's there in both places and I can have my cake and eat it too now!

  • Bridge showing XMP DS.Store files

For some reason Bridge CS4 is showing XMP and DS.Store files.
If I rate an image the XMP file immediately appears below the image in the Content pane. This really gets in the way of proper work flow. If there is 500 images in a folder and each image has an XMP file you have to navigate through an additional 500 files when using Bridge.
I am working on a machine that is running Mac OX X.5 Server.
    Any help much appreciated.

On top of your screen when you have Bridge at front and running.
From left of: Adobe Bridge / file / edit and then View. Click on it and see
if a checkmark is put in front of 'show hidden files'
Where do I find the menu view options?

  • Why I am being ignored? How does Bridge show if a file is associated TO an Adobe Premier project(s)?

If a video file is linked to a premier project, how does bridge indicate that it is associated (linked) to the projects so i can be 100% sure that it must not be deleted?
I put this threat for weeks and 1 response only. Is it someone out there who can give me a hand?
I just finished a FEATURE-FILM in HD comprised of 40 + different Adobe Premier Projects; obviously many files (or clips) are associated to many projects at the same time, and some files are associated to none. So this is the thing: I need to delete 5,000 useless-not associated clips but I need to make sure that these files that I am deleting are not associated with any of my projects.
I am sure that it has to be a way to allow me to ID them so I can sort them and massively delete the outtakes.
    Ideas?
    Thanks much

Bridge does not show where a file is open.  I have never used Premier, so unclear on what you are doing.
Bridge will show the date file modified, if you have that option enabled in the metadata preferences.  In the filter panel you can sort the current screen by date file modified.  If you modified the clip and saved it you might be in luck.  See if you can locate a group of files with the same date as your project.

  • CS6 Mini-Bridge showing corrupt image

I didn't know whether to post this in Bridge or here since Mini-Bridge is called from within CS6.  I've rarely used Mini-Bridge in the past because it required Bridge to be running, so I didn't see the need.  A discussion on another forum had me take a look at Mini-Bridge.  It now appears to run without Bridge, though it appears to make some sort of connection to Bridge and have it run in the background.  I pointed it to a folder and noticed several corrupt images.  I then opened Bridge and they looked fine.  I did a screenshot and the image appears corrupt in Mini-Bridge, but fine in Bridge (5.0.2), ACR (7.3), and CS6 (13.0.1).  Mini-Bridge will show several of the images corrupted, while they all look fine in Bridge or any other program.  I'm running Windows7.
The following screenshots show the problem.  Any thoughts?
    Thanks, Dennis

Mini Bridge always requires Bridge to be active for showing the content of the Bridge files. If you start mini bridge in PS without having Bridge itself zctive a message should appear that you have to launch Bridge and also a launch button to do the task for you.
In Bridge first select the file that appears corrupted in MB and with right mouse click menu choose 'purge cache for selection'. If this is not working first try a reset of the preferences for Photoshop ( on a Mac this is restart PS with holding down shift, option and command key, should be something similar in Windows)
This might work for MB but also resets the other PS prefs to factory default so you have to set your custom wishes again. Not a big deal but you have to be aware of this :-)
Same can be done for Bridge itself with restart Bridge and holding down control key and choose reset preferences. But if your first attempt with purge cache for selection works you can choose the menu tools in Bridge and while having the folder content of the problem files in the content panel choose cache/ purge cache for folder and let it rebuild.

  • Mini bridge - show open files?

when bridge was first born as file browser, and integrated into PS did it have the ability of displaying the open files in PS?
I'm "kinda" hoping that a bunch of people are going to jump all over this conversation and say... of course it can do it now!
I'm very old-school and don't like the tabbed windows interface, I'm generally tossing layers around and windows are easier for me, but.... I could see that this would have some use if I was using a smaller display and if I could also use mini bridge to show thumbnails of the open files and use this to switch tabbed images. Or, if I could drag layers onto the thumbnail in Mini Bridge and subsequently bring that tabbed image to front.

I needed to set the file type association in preferences.

  • Bridge CS6 GIF animation view crashes

Since I don't see another Adobe Labs forum for Bridge CS6, I'm posting here. I was pleased to finally see an animated GIF preview in Bridge CS6. I'm unhappy to report that attempting to view an animated GIF crashes Bridge CS6. I've allowed the app to send a crash report.
    I'm using Bridge CS6 x64 on a Windows 7 x64 workstation.
I look forward to seeing the GIF viewer work in the shipping version!

Hello BJN3, I've tried with the animated GIF you attached, Bridge crashed when playing it. I have logged a bug for this issue, our developer will look into it and try to find the cause.
It's wierd that Bridge can play all my animated GIF except yours. Is there any special settins when you created your GIF?
Could you save the GIF below and try to play it in Bridge to see if your Bridge still crashes?
Thanks a lot for you info and support!

  • My RAW images are becoming corrupt when opening with Adobe Bridge, showing very bright colours.

Windows Vista, Canon 20d, Dell PC.
Happens to older images not new ones.
Have a raw thumbnail codex installed.
    Any help much apreciated
    Example attached.
It isn't happening to all images though:

The raw codec doesn't affect Bridge/ACR, only Windows Explorer and applications which use the codec, like Photo Gallery.
The corruption you show is pretty extreme. It's usually the sort of thing you get with a corrupt display profile (Bridge is fully colour-managed), but if that was the case, I would expect it to happen with all of your photos, not just some.
You show the Preview panel is corrupted, but what about full-screen and Camera Raw previews?
What happens if you reset an image to camera raw defaults, with bog-standard settings and an Adobe Camera Profile?
The only other obvious problem I can think of is graphics drivers.
Which versions of Bridge and Camera Raw are you using?
