Af:train across taskflows

I have four jsff pages used with af:train tag. In a single taskflow all the four jsff pages flow is coming up fine and it works as expected.
The requirement is i want to move each jsff page into a seperate taskflow and than have the same functionality to work.
Can anyone please let me know is this possible?? and also how can i make this work??

It internally uses float i believe.
Can it be done? I know its very silly but i dont have any other choice left as i have tried it in many other ways.

Create Process Train using TaskFlows?

Hi,
I tried creating a process train using bounded taskflows with each taskflow having a page fragment in it. In those pages I have a train and train button bar. However when running the main page I can see the content of the pages but neither the train or the train button bar is getting rendered in my page.
Is process train only confined to be used within the page fragments that are part of the same task flow? What if I want to create a process train between task flows ... is there any other way. Is it possible?

Today, Payroll team file NSmen claim thru the NSMEN website by keying the claim information for each of the TM who was called back for reservist. With the growing number of reservist each month, this manually keying into their
on-line form is tedious and error prone.
Need to explore the following :
If SAP 4.7 support the export of NSMEN info for mass upload to the NSMEN website.
What's needed to do mass batch submission.
I am getting the following error :-
1)   I ran the NS report extract the data from SAP for 2 employees
2)   the xml file was provided to Mindef for testing.
3)    Feed back received from Mindef on the 2 test employees, the errors as follows:
      a) The month provided in the xml file are not correct.
           Example employee on National Service in May 2008,
           extract to provide the last 4 to 6 months data,
           SAP data for the month of November to April (6 months)
           November Amt 732.76
           December Amt 244.26
           January    Amt 732.76
           February   Amt 839.30
           March       Amt 244.26
           April         Amt 595.06
           Extract as follows:

           provision in the transaction PC00_m25_NNRS program RPCNRSR0_01 to specify the trainning period.
           Transaction allow input by payroll period only.
      With the above errors, the mass upload file output from transaction PC00_m25_NNRS cannot be used for
      upload thru the NSMen website which finance users wanted to replace the manual effort of having
      to key in all the payroll related data online with 1 employee a time.

Having had a quick look at your listings, I see we have lost Drag racing, Baseball and North American Ice hockey. Am I right in that ESPN now starts at 10.00 hrs so that the live Ausie Rules games have just gone out the window.

Sounds like a good trip! I've just recently got back from Kotor & Podgorica in Montenegro, doing that trip by train, but I did the arrangements myself. Got to love travelling by train across Europe. You get to see so much & it's so much more civilised than flying!
Anyway, back to the original topic: What other sports should BT look to bid for when the rights come up? I'd like to see them go for the Super15 Rugby, as that would complement the AP and Top14 quite well (Yes, I'm a Rugby nut!). How about some of the Paralympics events such as the Athletics that's underway at the moment in Lyon? You could build on the success & interest from last year's Paralympics. Does GPS use the internet data connection?

Hi everyone,
I'll be using a German iPhone while traveling all over the world. The data connection is free within Germany (in other words, flat-rate internet) but quite expensive out of the country, 49 euro cents per 50kb block when I'm in the US, for example... I was hoping to use the GPS/map function a lot, but I'm afraid this will be expensive...
Does the GPS/map function actually use the internet connection, for which I'll be charged per 50kb block?
Or is GPS a separate kind of connection?
I was hoping to just casually surf the web while traveling on trains across the globe, but I guess that would be a very expensive pastime...

There is no charge for accessing GPS, but maps data is not stored locally on the iPhone. When using the Maps application, all maps data is downloaded from the internet - via an available wi-fi network you have access to, or via the cellular network. You can access GPS alone without a wi-fi or cellular connection, but it won't do you much good without any maps data.

Adobe Captivate, or the whole Adobe eLearning 6.1 Suite?

I am building eLearning modules for staff training across a Province - would I need Adobe Captivate, or the whole Adobe eLearning 6.1 Suite?

Maybe I was not clear: Captivate is not included in the CC but is a separate subscription (which I would recommend over buying license, better price/quality value).
All depends on what you want to develop? I'm using both Photoshop and Audition (from the CC) intensively for graphical and audio assets. I also use Illustrator (inserting vector graphics as smart objects into Photoshop because of its roundtripping functionality with Captivate). Edge Animate is included in the CC and is great for creating animations. I'm also using several other applications.
But if you are buying graphics, or use another graphics editor, and can live with the audio created within Captivate (or use Audacity), don't need animations etc, you could just start with Captivate subscription?

How to create a popup in an ADF train taskflow?

I have a Train taskflow. Then i create a popup window in one of the buttons. When i run the JSF as an independent page, the popup works. But when i run the taskflow, the popup doesn't work.
Is it a bug or is there some way to create a popup in a train.
i have created the popup like this:
1. i have created a control flow between the main JSF and popup page
as dialog:Add.
2. And in the button in the parent window, i have made the usewindow to true and action to dialog:Add.
Any kind of helf would be very helpfull.

Ric: You can include a JSFF/JSPX using the jsp:include tag and a subview. Note that you will not be able to use ADFm within the fragments.


If there is no other way than inclusion of region, how to make that new region "transaction-free" (as usually the pop-ups are for read-only operations and overhead of TaskFlow transaction is unnecessary). Generally, how to make Task Flow without transaction (if transaction imposes significant overhead – I'm not sure). (the documentation on Task Flows is unfinished in TP). And, finally, if there is no possibility of including JSFF without creating task-flow, is it possible to propose extension to ADFc allowing single JSFF to be included in region without explicitly defining task-flow for that single fragment.


Ric: I think the above suggestion should work for static cases. However, if you
are using bindings then the regions is the only approach available. This is not as heavy-wieght as it would appear. There is a way for regions or bounded taskflows to share datacontrols with with the parent page, which alleviates the concern of additional transactions. This feature can be found in the next preview. Note, this does not prevent you from defining a single page taskflow--in the one page case. I would like to see the feature extended so that if a region contains a single jsff reference there is no need to define an additional taskflow config file.

Invoking popup with taskflow train accepting parameters from a region

Hi All,
I would like to know the best practice to implement the following use case. Jdeveloper used is Jdev11g.
I have a taskflow DND as a region. The refresh property is set to if needed so that region is loaded when the input parameter is changed. The region displays the table and the contents of the table is modified in a another task flow train which is DND as a region in a popup and the popup is invoked on button click. The taskflow train in the popup accepts input paramters and the refresh is set to if Needed. The popup has to be closed at the end of task flow and also the parent region should be refreshed to reflect the updated value.
I was not able to control the order of execution of action listener of button(to set the parameters required task flow) and show popup behavior( to invoke the popup). Show pop up behavior is executed before action listener and hence the parameters are not properly passed to the task flow.
Here are few queries:
1.To work around the above problem, we implemented a client listener to find and show the pop up.Is this the right way to do it?.
2.Also at the end of the taskflow train taskFlowReturn returns to head of the task flow and the popup still remains in the window. We implemented a region navigation listener to identify the end of the task flow and hide the popup(is this right?).
3.To refresh the parent region we find the component in the view tree and do region.getRegionModel().refresh(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance())( is this the right way to do it).
4. The parameters are not passed properly when the table from which popup with taskflow train is invoked is the detail table of Master-detail relationship.

Taskflow train with child taskflow step problem

Hi,
If I use a child train taskflow (step 2 ) in a train then I can't get back to main train. and the train jsf components are disabeld in this page. If I try to return manually then I get a error.

Ok Frank,
That is what I did. I would to report a bug, This is not working when the train is in dialog mode, then it crashes when I try to leave the child taskflow. In not dialog mode it works perfectly.
Is it possible to get the train button bar working in the child train taskflow

How do I change the label for the train stop in the train component? - Again easy. Select the train stop (view activity) in the diagram and look at the property inspector, choose the Train Stop tab and set the value of display-name property to a string or an EL Expression. If you look at the XML this results in a structure like this:

I have two pages one is containing some search screen an the other contains a complicated train.
When I enter the train steps and fill the form , i want to navigate to the search page and then back to the train from wher I left with all the form filled.
How Can I manage to do this?

Can someone point me to training or guidelines on how to manage contacts across multiple devices?

My Contacts keep getting overridden with extra entries from every email I've ever sent... I'd like to baseline and then just explicitly add or delete and have it propagate to all devices that are part of the account. It seems very cludgy the way it works, but perhaps it's user error. If your data is being changed without you doing it, then it could be someone else (wife, kids?) who is using the same iCloud ID. They shouldn't be, but if that is the case for you, have them get their own iCloud accounts.

How to avoid validation while navigating to the next train station..11g u2

I have a case where I use the same view object across the train stations while entering the data.
My problem is, when I click the Next button it gives an error saying that I am missing some of the mandatory fields that are exposed in the coming screens.
To make it more clear..
Say that I have an employee vo having (*id , name, surname, department, salary ..)
I create a train taskflow and create two page fragments one for entering id, name, surname and the second one is for department and salary.
When I try to navigate to the next train station after entering fields in the first one I get an error saying that "salary is missing" .
What should I do to postpone the model validation until I commit something?

Motion Tracker with text on moving train

I have a video clip of a train moving across the tracks. The camera also pans to follow the path of the train. I want text to sit on the top of the first car of the train as its travels from left to right.
I used Track Camera and then parented text to the Null object.
The problem is that the text has to adjust in size and perspective as the train moves along.      I have tried keyframing these options but the result appears jittery and jumpy as if the text is dancing on top of the train.      The text should be the exact width of the first train.   Tiny in the distance and then large as it approaches cameras.
Also, there appears to be a bug with the text object not displaying the font correctly.   I have tried many fonts and each appears inconsistent.     I have attached a screen grab.
The red text is how the characters should appear given my font choice. The red is NOT tied to the null object; its just a text layer.     The black font is tied to the null object. You can obserce that certain characters are bold and others not. Overall this looks nothing like the font is supposed to appear.
Please note that both titles are the same font.

I followed your instructions and here's what I came up with.    Please find 7 screengrabs below.
In AE, I started completely fresh.   I have 1 layer in AE; the video clip.    I created a text layer and typed my name.   I right clicked on the text and selected pre-comp.   I then double clicked the pre-comp and increased the text size to fill the comp horizontally. Please see my screen grab.
I return to the original comp and paste my corner pin tracking data to the pre-comp.
The final result looks like a splatter of paint on the face of the train.   Please see my attached screen-grabs for reference.

Why can't I use iBooks Text Books across devices?

iBooks 2 is incredible with its introduction of Text Books, as is the ability for anyone with a Mac to start developing texts via iBooks Author. This has revolutionary potential written all over it.
BUT, just one thing Apple:
Why in the last year have you pushed so hard to integrate/sync devices via the Cloud, only to introduce a phenomenal tool like the Text Books which can only be used on one device, the iPad, and almost blatantly makes no intention to talk to other devices?
I have invested in the whole Apple product line. I am invested in the ecosystem entirely. Why can I not start reading/note taking from my Biology Text in class on my iPad, continue skimming it from where I left off on my iPhone while going home on the train, and finally pull up the Text Book in iBooks on my Macbook (complete with my notes from the day) where I ultimately want to cut and paste my noted text to be used as quotes in a term paper I am composing in Pages (and what if Pages even talked to iBooks and auto formatted a Bibliography based on the text I have dragged and dropped)? As a student this scenario is not only very forseeable, but neccessary if I am to go over to a digital book format.
Why is this not possible? Should I honestly believe it is the result of poor planning, or rather a strategy to boost iPad sales by making Text Books explicit to the iPad?
After all, in a parallel analogy to the above, Apple ecosystem users can currently: start a film on their iPad, pick up where they left off on their iPhone, and then ultimately finish the film on their Mac or Apple TV. I can even start a normal book on my iPad and leave a bookmark, which I can later pick up on my iPhone. This is awesome and exemplifies the consideration and rigorous thought that I have grown to expect Apple to put in to their products. The devices talk to each other and "it just works." But is apple really allowing all of this, except when it comes to TEXTBOOKS, which is an educational tool?
If the digital Text Books are really going to do so much to revolutionize education, then shouldn't Text Books be available across ALL devices and to all people who ALREADY own iOS/OSX devices in order to reach its maximum potential for influencing a change in education? If these tools are really so revolutionary and represent a paradigm shift, then they will speak for themselves and schools will naturally get on board and dole out the money for the class sets of iPads.
Please Apple, I switched over for a reason. Mostly due to your philosophies and ability to make things that "just work". Don't sell out here. Not allowing Text Books to be accessed across devices does not have the markings of a "paradigm shift in the dark ages of education", but instead reeks of a slick marketing scam by the most successful company in the world to pump tax money out of education budgets into the overflowing pockets of Apple. Shame on you. That is not giving to education, that is taking.
Make good and develop TextBooks to work across ALL iOS/OSX devices, please.

My understanding is that you can use the Cloud on any device you want but only one at a time. Just as you can install the Creative Collections on as many computers as you wish but it can only be activated on two at a time but which is not really true since you can only use one of them at a time anyway.
I think the wording about this should change.
For insance I travel and may or may not wish to lug a laptop with me. It is my understanding that I can when raveling log into the CC download m apps and use them on any computer capable of running the apps and work away, But since I am logged in at a different location on a different device it will only work on that device.
And this is the way it shoulkd work because say you travel and your laptop is lost or stolen then you should be able to still use your apps and also stop them from working on the lost computer by logging in somewhere else.
This is the way Iunderstand the advantages of the Cloud. It is designed to be flexible and not inhibiting.
Now on the other had if I ahsd an assistant that I want to use these apps then it makes sense to purchase a license for them as well.
It is one license for one user as it should be but that user can access it where ever they need it.
That is my understanding.
