Affecting the 'Track Order' of Digital Booklets

I'd like to have my manually-added pdf liner notes appear after an album's audio tracks without having to assign them a bogus track number. Is this possible?
At the moment, iTunes already does this by default for Song View (ie. album tracks 1-9, followed by a numberless 'Liner Notes' booklet, as in the iTunes store). But for Artist View & Album View the pdfs appear after the audio tracks, and when albums are added to playlists, the pdfs don't appear at all. Any suggestions?

Have you checked your iPod's Settings to make sure the Shuffle setting is set to Off.

  • ITunes mixes up the track order of songs within an album??

My iTunes mixes up the track order, and there is no way to specifically order it by track.  i have even gone and individually marked each song as ie(2 of 12) but it still lists them in a random order.  How can I make the songs fit in their original order?  And none of that "click at the top to order it by artist, album, or time etc," because it doesn't click above track number.

If the songs are in a playlist open iTunes then click on the playlist. Click on the number column (extreme left). Click on the song you want to move and drag it to where you want it to be. Right click on the playlist name and select "Copy to play order". Connect your iPod, if you are updating automatically it will pick up the change. If you are updating manually then you connect first and when the iPod appears in the source list carry out the process above directly in the playlist on your iPod. Make sure neither Shuffle or Repeat are switched on in the playlist, either of those can prevent you reordering tracks.
If the tracks are out of order in the library try this, I found that it works for me. Right click at the top of any column in your iTunes library and choose **Track Number** from the list. Click at the top of this new column to sort it and after that click on the Album column. If you like you can then click on Artist, it will continue to hold the track order as well. Afterwards anything you import should follow this arrangement Artist>Album>Track Number within Album (you can hide the track number column when you've done if you don't want it cluttering up the view)

  • Change the track order?

I know the solution has to be simple: - I'm working on a sequence with about seven separate audio tracks on the timeline. Now I want to move the audio track that's third from the bottom to say the second track from the top. How do I did it?

Jarrod, you probably get this from Craig's response, but this is not as intuitive as some situations, so I'll add a bit for those who won't follow this.
As Craig says, you can't move tracks. You can, however, insert new tracks, specify whether they are mono or stereo etc, and determine where they are placed in the track order. So in your case, target audio track one, insert a new audio track (of the correct type - mono stereo e.g.) selecting "after target track." Then copy/paste from the original track to the new track. Then delete the old track (or just silence it and leave it for security).

  • Sorting the year without affecting the tracks

How do I sort the year from most recent to oldest without affecting the order of the tracks?

The most recent albums at the top of the list is "last is listed on top", and apparently Apple has not set up a sub filter to list albums "last on top" while listing tracks "first on top".
If you list Albums "first on top" then the tracks will also be "first on top".
    Yeah it's kinky.
At the top of iTunes, click iTunes/Provide iTunes Feedback. Tell Apple what you think.

  • How to change the track order in an album

I have created a mix album, with the tracks in the order I want them. Somehow, the tracks have now gone out of order in my music library. I can order them however I want in a playlist, but not in the actual library. I have burned a CD from the playlist, deleted the album from my library, then imported the CD, but the tracks again appear out of order.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Add track numbers and number of tracks to the songs in your list. Right click on a song (Control -click if you are using a one button mouse) and choose Get Info then the Info tab: Add Song Information to My Tunes

  • Manually change the track order in a playlist?

I have purchased and downloaded 20 tracks from the Itunes store with just two artists involved, 8 tracks from one and 12 tracks from the other. I've created a playlist and at the moment the tracks are listed first by artist 1 and then artist 2. I want to burn this playlist to a cd, but before I do I want to shuffle the tracks manually.
There seems to be no obvious way of doing this. Help would be appreciated.

The choices available in the Sort By dropdown are based on the columns you've chosen to display in Songs view (which is why - in part - your screenshot looks different to mine).  However, the only place I can see where the Manual Order option is absent is where you are looking at the complete Library (where the Track Number column is not being displayed) and not a specific playlist.  In the latter case I always get that option, independent of the columns that are selected and displayed.
Likewise, every playlist - when viewed in Songs view - has an unlabeled column at the left hand side which is the effective "play order" for the playlist (which is what tt2 refers to in his response above).  Also, your screenshot shows an "iCloud Download" option, which I only see as being available when looking at the library as a whole and not at a playlist.  I was also caught out by the presence of a "Ticked" option but I assume that this is a regionalization issue - for me (configured for US English) the corresponding entry is "Checked".
You may have an underlying issue here but I would double check that you are looking at Songs view for a specific playlist and not the whole library.

  • Why are the colors in my digital booklet super saturated on my iPad?

I find it ridiculous that I have to change the format of the digital booklet in the first place, but after I did that I transferred it to my iPad, opened iBooks and my digital booklet's colors re so saturated I could read half of the words in the book because they were black. How do I solve this??? Is it a bad download?

    Hi again John,
Now I am sitting in front of the right computer and I just checked the CMYK profile in AI and it says: North America Prepress 2.  I found the following tutorial on the internet and this guy says that it is best to use a CMYK profile called BEST WORKFLOW which is supposed to accurately display colors across all platforms.  In the tutorial, he also added that if you do not see this profile listed then you should Load (directly from the CMYK profile window) it from your computer.  However, I was unable to locate this profile on my MAC and since this tutorial is based on AI CS2, I am unsure if I can use it.

Which CMYK profile would you recommend that I use?

  • How do I get the album artwork for digital booklets purchased from itunes?

I have all these digital booklets but when I look at the album artwork viewer I don't see any artwork for for digital booklets. What kind of artwork is there supposed to be there and how do I get it?

CDs don't contain artwork, Both iTunes and WMP download the artwork from online sources, in the case of iTunes it comes from the iTunes Store (if the album is available in the store). If the artwork isn't available in the store you can add a suitable artwork image manually. You'll get information on both methods at this link: iTunes for Windows - Adding artwork to songs and other items
If you can't find the album covers you want from iTunes you can get them from various other sources. I find this site is a good source of artwork: CD/Album Cover Art Search from SlothRadio.
Another place for finding suitable artwork is to go to Amazon. You can also locate artwork using Google image search and put the artist or album name. Locate the album from any of those sources, right click on the image and save it to the desktop, once it's there drag it to the iTunes artwork pane. Once you've added the artwork you can either delete the original file or keep it in a folder somewhere in case you need to use it again. Alternatively there are programs like these that help locate artwork: iTunes Art Importer or MP3 Tag
If you have a scanner you can create your own artwork files by scanning the CD cover itself, this is particularly useful when you are dealing with rare recordings.

  • How can I fix the tracks so they are in the correct order?

I made a CD from an old vinyl "The Best of the Staples Singers". Then I downloaded the Artwork. The artwork was from a later version of the same album. On that later version the tracks were in a different order and when I printed the insert for my CD I got the track order associated with the later version of "The Best of the Staple Singers". I deleted the artwork, however the tracks still print the order from the later version. Just to throw in an oddity: the tracks show up in the correct order on the screen and I can print a "List" & get the correct order, just not the CD insert. Hopefully someone will have a resolution for this problem. Thanks, Karen29

    Hello Karen.
You have posted in the "Windows Compatibility" forum. What Windows® app are you using to manage, print, view, and burn your digital CD tracks that were converted from vinyl?
If "Help" for that app does not tell you how to reorder your digital tracks for CD creation, someone who uses that app may be able to tell you how they do it, but we need to know which app you are using.

  • Logic Control : displaying order of the track

    Hello
    When you are in the Environment window the track, instruments ... are displaying from there number ;
    - track 1 to track x
    - instrument 1 to instrument x
it does not respect how you have arrange your instrument, tracks ....
    Is it possible :
    - that the LC follow the order that the track, instruments are displayed
    - to have a "global" view at the environment level
    - to assign the key on the LC : "global view User" to display as above
Many thanks in advance for your help
    Best
    Cyril

But LC does not relate to the Environment audio mixer, it relates to the Track Mixer. If you want your audio mixer in the environment to relate to LC, you''ll have to arrange the objects to match the track mixer.
BTW an easy way to make sure the track order matches the order in your environment is, when you set up the song, select and drag all the audio objects in the environment into the tracklist. (drop them on Track 1)
Generally this is only a good idea at the start, before you have any regions in place in the arrange tracks, as, if you do it when you have content, the audio in the tracks will be assigned to different audio objects to what they were originally. (Although, you can get around this, by cutting all the track content then changing the order, as I described, then doing: 'paste at original position' and select 'keep Inst.' in the dialog which follows.)

  • How can I re-sort my albums both chronologically and in track order?

    Hi all,
All of a sudden, the correct album track order on my iPod Classic has gone haywire!
I have many, many playlists, containing albums by all my favourite bands, arranged in chronological order. This means that I can start playing the Beatles (for instance) with "Please Please Me", and work my way through to "Let It Be:Naked", playing each album in its turn, with the track listing of each album in their original order.
Of course, I have to tell iTunes to sort "Album by Artist/Year" to achieve this end, and up until just recently, things have been fine. Most of my 250+ artist-dedicated playlists are sorted this way.
Now, all of a sudden, I find that the track order within these albums in iTunes are appearing in a completely random order. The only way I can get the correct track sequence back again is to re-sort the list by "Album" which re-arranges the albums alphabetically, but that does not list them chronologically....
I have tried re-sorting the chronologically dated and named albums by clicking the column header, and when it comes up with sorted by "Album by Artist / Year" (which is where it ONCE was all automatically sorted into correct sequence of track numbers) now, it comes up with all the album tracks in random order, within each album.. It sorts the albums into the correct chronological order, but the tracks within these albums are all messed up.
As I said earlier, if I choose to sort each playlist simply "By Album", then all the tracks on each album are in the correct order, so I KNOW that the correct ID Tag info is still there..
Until now, I have been able to pride myself on (usually) being able to manage the sometimes quirky moods of iTunes, which I have been using for over a decade - but I have never had this problem before.
Please also note that all my 23,000+ tracks have album dates, track numbers, artists, groupings, genres, play counts, and most also have cover images.
This week, I have downloaded and re-installed iTunes 10.6.3.25, but still no change.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to what I can do to get things back the way they were again?
    Many thanks,
    Rusty Shay

    Hello there,
    Hi there Chris CA,
    Many thanks for your reply.
I just tried using the column browser as you suggested, but it remains the same.
I can either have the albums by any one artist sorted alphabetically - with the tracks in the correct sequence....
Or I can have the albums sorted by year of release - with the tracks in random order....
    But not both!
The most curious thing is that all playlists are not affected. Probably three or four out of the 250+ are listed the way I want them all to be.
    It's driving me bloody crazy!

  • "Complete My Album" track order problem

    Hello everybody,
I downloaded several tracks from Billy Joel's "The Stranger" in January. Just a few days ago, I decided to "Complete My Album." When I downloaded the remaining tracks, the tags were slightly different, resulting in two entries in my iTunes library. The old tracks had "The Stranger (Remastered)" in the Album field; the new tracks simply said "The Stranger." So I changed the tags on the new tracks to make sure they matched the old ones. Now, they are displayed properly as one entry, except the tracks are in the wrong order. I checked all the fields, including Album Artist, Artist, Track number, Sort Album...any that would affect the order...to make sure they matched. I selected all of the tracks and manually reentered the information. Whatever I tried to do, I could not get the tracks to display in the correct order (in iTunes, or the iPod it was synced to.) The new tracks stubbornly sit atop the old tracks, no matter what I do to them. I also noticed that when I press the little grey arrow next to the new tracks, it links me to the proper page on iTunes. When I do the same with the old tracks, I get an error that says "Could not complete your request. These songs are no longer available in the U.S. store." I contacted iTunes support, and they had no idea what the problem was. They told me to post here. So here I am, hoping that there is some iTunes genius who knows what is going on. I'm assuming that there is some secondary tag information that I can't access that takes precedence over the ID3 listings. Any clues? Please forgive my incredibly verbose question, but I just wanted to give a clear picture of the situation. Thanks for your help.
Self Built   Windows XP   3 GHz P4x 2GB RAM

Ahh... yep, that was it. Never would've even bothered to change those, because I didn't think it would effect the track order..
    ^_^ Thanks a bunch.
