Affter Effects CC will not open
Tried opening After Effects CC this morning: After Effects warning: The following plugins have failed to load.
And them goes on to say that I should re-laod the plugins.
Okay. How?
Any help on this issue would be grateful.

Thanks for the info... I will try and run the cleaner tool and then do a re-install. Unfortunately, there was no way to open program.

After Effects CS5 will not open
Hi - I've been looking through the forums trying to find my specific problem and solution, but so far no luck. I've just installed CS5 Production Premium on a Core Duo MacBook Pro that I'm pretty sure meets minimum CS5 requirements - running Snow Leopard, 2GB of RAM (I know, barely squeaks by). The problem is - I am unable to open After Effects at all. Every single time I try to open it, I get the message saying "After Effects has unexpectedly quit". It doesn't even get to the purple AE loading box...heck, it doesn't even get to a bouncing icon! I've tried starting in safe mode, I've repaired permissions, trashed preferences...all to no avail. I'm pasting the crash log below in the hopes that someone can decipher it and point me in the right direction. BTW, I thought all other apps in the suite were opening fine - Photoshop, Premier, etc have no problems - then Illustrator just displayed the same issue. Grrr...please help!

if i am correct you are getting this error " After Effects has unexpectedly quit " every time u launch the after effect on your Mac book pro.... well i have a solution that u can try : this is how it goes
1)Create a folder on desktop and name it as Mac fonts.
2)Now go to Library and select fonts folder.
3)Drag all the fonts from this folder and put them in the folder that u created on desktop.
4)Re-launch the application once again , if the application works fine then it is the corrupt fonts which are creating problem for u while launching the application.

After Effects CS6 Will not open // Does not work with MAC OS X
I recently installed and reinstalled CS6 Production Premium, numerous times. All of the programs work except for After Effects. I get a message saying that I cannot this version of Adobe After Effects CS6 with this version of OS X. You have Adobe After Effects CS6 11.0
I have OS X 11. Am I missing something obvious here?So I have tried to update, and after looking up the error code on the log I still cant figure it out. Through Adobe App Manager I have updates it looks like for all programs in CS. I have tried a few times to update these programs to a U43M1D204 error. Is this a bandwidth issue? I have tried troubleshooting through the FAQ and still cannot figure it out.

After Effects CS4 will not open
My system runs on Windows XP SP2 and has 2GB RAM. I tried to run AE but the splash screen shows 4% RAM usage and a popup box displays with a message of "After Effetcs: Not enough memory to create compress formats (424905K requested, 216828K available). Any ideas please why this is happening ?
Mmh, something is leaking. Are there any other Adobe products on the system that use MPEG CoDecs (Premiere, Encore, Adobe Media Encoder). If so, my best guess would be that those are not installed correctly or were messed up during an update or so. That stuff is shared by all apps and while your system is not ideal, it certainly should work and not give this error. Depending on what is going on, only a full re-install of everything might fix it, though, unfortunate as it may be. So make friends with the CS3 and CS4 Clean Scripts from the support pages, set aside a good afternoon and take some deep breaths...

I recently upgraded to Mac OSX Snow Leopard. After the upgrade, my Encore, Premiere Pro and After Effects files will not open. All the other programs in the Master Collection will open. I uninstalled the Collection and reinstalled but that did not fix anything. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Now, from the title, it sounded like En would not Open existing Projects, but from the body text, it seems that En (along with others) is not launching at all. Is that correct - no launch?
As you have upgraded the OS, that would be my first thought - something did not translate well. This could be at the OS update level, or could be with the installations of the Adobe suite programs.
I have to first admit that I am Mac-illiterate, so these questions might not be applicable to the Mac, but how did you update the OS? Was it a full, complete wipe and install, with the various programs being then re-installed to that new OS, or some other method?
When you attempt to launch the programs, what happens - any error messages, or progress with the launch, but just failure?

hey guys,
ever since I've reinstalled my pc with windows xp pro sp3, my itunes will not open at all.
every time i click on itunes.exe it does not do anything. It does give me the hourglass icon as if my pc is working on it. but then it disappears without any itunes response.
to fix this issue, I have tried any possible method that i could find on the internet. even called the support center but they were not able to help me either.
I have tried to reinstall itunes *(no effect)*
did something with the cryptographic something in the administrative tools menu *(no effect)*
I have deleted the itunes installer cache *(no effect)*
I installed any older versions,( btw 7 does not work either)but after updating it *(no effect)*
itunes 6 does work; but since i have an iphone it is completely useless for me. so *(no effect)*
the strange thing is that itunes.exe does appear in the "processes" tab in task manager, but it does not show in the "applications" tab.
and every time I shut down my pc, I get the windows message that itunes is shutting down.
If you have any other suggestions, please be so kind help me.
this is driving me nuts. It's been going on for two months now.

I am not sure if I have this right from all those posts.
When you try to start iTunes, there is no error message and you can see iTunes.exe persisting on the processes tab of the task manager.
If that is your probelm it is commonly do to a problem with cryptographic services.
Before looking into that there is a quick thing to try:

Make a careful note of any error messages you get, this is important. post back the names of any dlls mentioned in error messages.
If you don't get any error messages try starting iTunes. -
when i open finder the windown is a completely blank grey box with the title "Window" as a header, and all my folders will not open when c
the problem started when my computer screen broke from something falling on it, the screen was replaced but the people that fixed it for me told me there may be some hard disk issues when a problem like this happens, they ran their own checks and found nothing and i was given my laptop back, then when i tried to use it, i found this problem. everything else works fine.
i have shutdown and re-started my computer multiple times and i have also re-started finder multiple times, both having no effect
i have also done a few other things to find that my apple.com.finder.plist and apple.com.sidebar.plist are both missing, and are not re-creating themselves, i have found no way to bring them back either.
any help would be greatly appreciated, thanksthere is an app called daisydisk on mac app store which will help you see exactly where the memory is focused and consumed try using that app and see which folders are using more memory

1.33 GB Page-outsFollow these instructions to uninstall MacKeeper. They have been tested with the most recent version of MacKeeper (v 2.8). Earlier versions than the one released in 2012 require more extensive work to uninstall all its components.
The effects of having actually used MacKeeper to do anything are a completely different matter. The fastest way to take an exquisitely designed and painstakingly engineered Mac and make it run like a steaming pile of dung is to install and use such ill-conceived "cleaning" or "security" products. This is just one example of a broad category of time- and money-wasters capable of causing damage that can only be rectified by reinstalling OS X, restoring from a backup, or completely erasing your system and rebuilding it from the ground up. Never install such junk on a Mac.
If you used MacKeeper to encrypt any files or folders, use MacKeeper to un-encrypt them first.
Quit the MacKeeper app if it is running.
Open your Applications folder: Using the Finder's Go menu, select Applications.
Drag the MacKeeper icon from your Applications folder (not the Dock) to the Trash.
You will be asked to authenticate (twice):
You do not need to provide a reason for uninstalling it:
Just click the Uninstall MacKeeper button. You will be asked to authenticate again.
After it uninstalls you may empty the Trash and restart your Mac. All that will remain is an inert log file that does nothing but occupy space on your hard disk. -
PDF e-mail attachment will not open after FF update

PDF attachments
After FF updated PDF's were re-associated with FF not the installed PDF program. Used Windows to re associate PDF's to PDF program. No problem, all PDF's open in PDF program UNLESS the PDF is an attachment in an e-mail.
Open e-mail fat client (doesn't matter the client) try and open the PDF and user gets message stating there is no program associated with attachment. Yet, all PDF's still open with correct PDF program as long as they are not in the e-mail. Now here's the really weird part.....
If there are two or more PDF's attachments in the same e-mail the first one will not open but the second, thirds, etc attached PDF's will open with the correct PDF program.
The only temporary solution I have found is to uninstall FF, re-install it and for a 1/2 day the issue goes away. I have not figured out the trigger that resets the issue.
FF is my go-to browser, but since v 31 this has been happening and if it keeps up, I'm switching to Chrome.

When you reinstall, were you making Firefox your default browser? Some users have reported that ''not'' making Firefox the default browser was an effective workaround.
However, you may have success with this approach, suggested by a user in another thread, which appears to more thoroughly update the Windows registry:
# Open Adobe Reader / Acrobat
# Edit->Preferences
# In the Categories column click 'General'
# Near the bottom of the page click the button marked 'Select Default PDF Handler'
# In the dialog, select 'Adobe Reader XI' (or Adobe Acrobat, as the case may be) and click 'Apply'
# A Windows Configuration screen will appear. Allow it to do its stuff (takes a few minutes), then restart your computer when prompted.

Compressor will not open in or outside FCP 5.1.4
I upgraded to Final Cut Pro 5.1 by sending in my 5.0 install disk. Since then I've run all the software upgrades. I just noticed that Compressor is 'greyed out' in Final Cut Pro and cannot be selected. I tried to open it directly and it will not open. I tried deleting the program and QMaster files and Receipts as directed to reinstall from the Final Cut Studio 5.1 Crossgrade disk but at one point during installation it asks for the Final Cut Studio install disk. The only one I have now is the crossgrade 5.1 disk or a 4.5 disk since I had to mail in the 5.0 disk, so I cannot complete the installation. Is there a way to restore Compressor to working in this situation? After the partial installation was done I copied the missing files from the trash back to the Applications and Library folders then ran Software Update. It showed a Compressor upgrade which I downloaded and ran successfully. So it looks like all the files are there but the program is still greyed out in FCP and will not run on its own. Has anyone else had problems launching Compressor under FCP 5.1.4? Any input is most appreciated.
I deleted all the QMaster and Compressor files and ran the install disk again. I wasn't paying attention too closely yesterday apparently because the 5.1 install disk asked for a DVD Studio Pro disk not Final Cut Studio. I was able to complete the install this time. However I have the same situation. I've upgraded to Compressor and QMaster 2.3 and I still cannot open Compressor either through Final Cut Pro or by itself. I've run Disk Utility to repair permissions and that has no effect. I'm stumped. Any suggestions at all?

Bridge CS5 will not open on new computer
I deactivated ps cs5 on my old computer and used my ps cs5 upgrade disk to install it on my new win 7 ultimate computer. It should be clean install but I did migrate many files from the old win xp computer with windows easy transfer. Bridge will not open and I can not find it listed in my programs. I tried to run my old cs4 upgrade disk and it shows that I have bridge cs4 installed even though I never installed ps cs4 on this machine. Is it possible that some old migrated files are now blocking bridge cs5 from opening? I tried to reset preferences by holding the ctrl key and clicking on bridge but nothing will open. Would this be solved by upgrading to CS6 or will I still have the same issue if bridge cs5 does not open? I tried to run the bridge cs5 update but it will not install. I do not get any error message at any time. Adobe support advisor found an unnamed error but can not recommend a solution.
I ran the creative suite cleaner and removed all files from cs3, cs4. But they are still there listed in c>programfiles (x86)>adobe. I can see adobe bridge cs4 and adobe bridge cs5. when i run bridge.exe from adobe bridge cs5 folder it opens bridge cs5. but i cannot open bridge while ps cs5 is open. I can't seem to delete the cs4 files as it says i need administrator rights, which are somehow not available.
Update: Somehow it did work, even though the cs4 program files are still there. I opened mini bridge from within cs5 and it said something to the effect that it needed to close cs4 bridge and use cs5, i clicked okay and my files were displayed in mini bridge cs5. I closed that and then clicked the bridge icon from within ps cs5 and bridge cs5 opened. I guess I changed the preferences somehow. Thanks for your answer and suggestion, which may well have been the solution or it led me to the correct step. The big point is that I avoided the big reinstall I dreaded after two days of getting cs5 set up with all plug-ins,etc installed. Thanks for your help! -
Bridge will not open after update.
Adobe Updater did its update and now Bridge will not open. The message is:
The Application Bridge CS3 quit unexpectedly.
I have had to uninstall Photoshop, reinstall photoshop, and then all is well until the Adobe Updater gets going then bang! No more Bridge. The below is the first part of the Apple report.

I still advocate Repairing Permissions (with Apple's Disk Utility) before AND after any system update or upgrade, as well as before AND after installing any software that requires an installer that asks for your password.
I have seen software installations go sour because the installer did not find everything as and where it should be.
I have also seen software installations go bad because the installer did not clean up after itself properly and did not leave everything as and where it should be.
This is just my own personal opinion and practice based on my own observations. Others may disagree and that's OK. I can only base my routines and my advice to others on my own experience and conclusion. I don't pretend to know why others believe otherwise.
Repairing Permissions after the fact (i. e. not immediately before and after an install) seldom helps.; Try it anyway, though.

Additionally, if your machine does not run 24/7 so that it runs the daily, weekly and monthly Cron Scripts in the middle of the night as intended by Apple, run Cocktail (shareware) as well.
Cron Scripts are maintenance routines designed by Apple to run on a daily, weekly and monthly basis in the middle of the night.
If you don't run them, you WILL run into trouble, sooner rather than later.

The disk activity generated by find is a normal part of file system maintenance, used for tasks such as removing invisible temporary files that are used by the system. It is scheduled to occur early in the morning at 03:15 everyday, 04:30 on Saturdays, and 05:30 on the first day of each month.
NOTE:
There have been comments to the effect that Apple "fixed" this in 10.4.2 and later versions of the OS, but I have not been able to verify this to my satisfaction. The reference in the 10.4.2 release notes are far from explicit on this subject.

PDFs will not open in Browser with Adobe Reader 9
I am using Vista Ultimate x64 (SP1) using IE7. I am using the 32-bit version of the browser. I have selected "Display PDF in browser" on the Internet settings tab of the Adobe Reader 9.
Every time I select a PDF document, it forces me to save the document to the hard drive and open it from the hard drive. It will not open the PDF in the browser. How do I fix this problem??
The above procedure did work in Windows XP (32-bit), but does not appear to work in Vista (64-bit).I have a similar problem using Adobe Reader 9 with Vista 64. I am also using the 32 bit version of IE7. Every time I click on a pdf to open in IE7 the screen remains white without starting Adobe Reader 9 in IE7 browser window.
Using Adobe Reader independantly works without any problem. Only the IE7 plugin does not seem to work. I reinstalled Adobe Reader 9 but without any effect. Adobe Reader 8 works. How comes? -
Photoshop CS5 will NOT open with Windows 8
I have photoshop loaded on an external hard drive. I was using Windows Vista, but that computer crashed. I purchased a new computer already loaded with Windows 8. Photoshop will not open. I do know there is nothing wrong with the version of Photoshop because if I take the external hard drive to a different computer, it'll open and work fine.
I have changed the compatibility to everything in the list, and nothing works to open Photoshop. I do not have the disk, so I can't uninstall/reinstall, but it's on an external hard drive to begin with.
Any ideas?When you install on an external drive it writes files to the C drive on the computer you installed from. PS will not work if you plug external into another computer as it does not have the licencing files on the other computer. So in effect the external is only good for one computer.
