AFP session closing and logging in every 5 minutes.

I have a new Macbook Pro and an Airport Extreme Dual Band that I seem to be having an issue with. I look at the logs in Airport Utility to check to make sure things are going well with my routers and I am continuously seeing this:

10.0.1.5 is my Macbook Pro's IP address on my network and this log continues showing the session closing and logging in every 5 minutes or so. I don't know why it would be doing this. If I restart the router, all is fine for a day or so but it goes back to doing this again. Any suggestions?

2 days ago i dropped my phone in water and immediately got it out and tried to dry it off.
I switched off the phone and left it in un cooked rice for 48 hours, i switched it on today and everything seems to be working fine.. apart from... the phone keeps switching itself off and re-booting every 5 minutes
i have since taken the back case off, dried it, put it back together and left it to dry out even more.
does anyone know what else i can do? or what the excate problem is that is causing it to switch off and re boot every couple of minutes?
The problem is that it got wet while it was under power, this most likely will have caused a short between parts of the circuitry that normally are separated. It may (if you stop using it while there is some moisture left inside it) revert to normal operation, frankly I doubt that very much.
Take it to Apple for diagnosis, you can avail yourself of a 'non warranty replacement' while you are there, if needed.

Network errors can cause the password dialog.
The correct answer to a Mail.app password dialog is almost always cancel, too.

  • Bug: Your last browsing session closed unexpectedly message after every boot

It appears HP Smart Web Printing 4.51 has a bug. After installing it on Vista Ultimate 64-bit Internet Explorer 8 (32-bit version), everytime I shutdown then start up the computer and open up Internet Explorer 8, I get the message:  "Your last browsing session closed unexpectedly. Restore your last session or Go to your home page". And this happens after I close down Internet Explorer 8 normally. This never happened before.
I did a test: closed down Internet Explorer 8 normally, uninstalled  HP Smart Web Printing 4.51, and rebooted my computer. The  "Your last browsing session closed unexpectedly" message did not appear anymore. Definitely a bug.

I'm sure that there can be other causes to this with IE, and if you are not running HP software on your XP then it is not related, however it is the cause for us running smart web printing on our particular machines.
I have four: two deesktops, two laptops, running from XP sp3 to win 7 RTM - all running ie8, all started the same issue after install of SWP latest version, note latest version. and all stop after that process is either prevented from running on startup, or the program is removed. Enough proof for me considering the history of this company's SW packages.
If I dont find another solution I plan on disabling the notification thru a registry edit. It's annoying more than helpful to receive it every single time you open for an initial session, plain and simple, and a result of bad coding.

  • Recently, my passwords on many websites are not being saved, forcing me to log in every 15 minutes or so.  Is anyone else experiencing this?  I am wondering if it is a result of a "bad" update?

For the past few weeks, I have noticed that passwords on many different websites are not being saved.  I literally have to log back into each page every 15 minutes or so.  Is this the result of a bad software update?  Have an appointment at the Genius Bar tomorrow but if this can be resolved without going in, it would be preferred.

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
    That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now.  They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.
    Thanks for listening,
    Melissa

  • Archive Logs in every 15 minutes(Oracle 11g 64 bit  EE on Linux RHEL 4

In our production database we have very few transactions may be of few MB's in whole day but it is generating archive logs constantly in every 15 minutes(may be sometime in 14 minutes also) of file size 50 MB each and this way consume 4 GB of space in a day for archive log which is way above than expected.
I have checked archive_lag_target and value of this is 0.
Any clue why it is creating 50 MB archive log file after every 14-15 minutes?

It's easy enough to reduce redo log file size without downtime; just add new smaller redo log files, switch logfile a couple of times and drop the old redo log files.
However, if the redo logs are filling up before they switch, then this will probably only make matters worse.
If the redo logs are switching before they are full then maybe you also need to consider log_checkpoint_interval and log_checkpoint_timeout settings.
If the redo logs are filling up before they switch then use the techniques suggested by a couple of the other posters to track down the guilty SQL.

  • System.log shows (every 3 minutes): no valid selfIDs for more than 2 min

Besides having to live with A LOT of USB 2.0 problems since the upgrade from 10.4.6 to 10.4.7 (like may other people reported) I also noticed a lot of errormessages in /var/log/system.log, that have to do with the Apple 6 port Firewire/USB2.0 PCI card.
When starting up the system a line gets written that says like:
Aug 3 18:08:44 localhost kernel[0]: FireWire (OHCI) VendorID 10b9 ID 5253 PCI now active, GUID 0030bd05 18000d15; max speed s400.
Then, when the machine is properly running the log continues:
Aug 3 18:11:34 server kernel[0]: FireWire (OHCI) VendorID 10b9 ID 5253 PCI: no valid selfIDs for more than 2 minutes after bus reset.
Aug 3 18:14:46 server kernel[0]: FireWire (OHCI) VendorID 10b9 ID 5253 PCI: no valid selfIDs for more than 2 minutes after bus reset.
Aug 3 18:17:57 server kernel[0]: FireWire (OHCI) VendorID 10b9 ID 5253 PCI: no valid selfIDs for more than 2 minutes after bus reset.
    etc. etc. etc.
That is about 1 line every 3 minutes.
I only have 3 USB2.0 drives connected to my 6 port card, no Firewire devices!
After trying all suggestions found on the Apple-site I simply kept getting these errors until: I plugged in a 'Target-Disk-Mode' PowerBook over a Firewire cable. Then the errors stopped showing up and the interface appears to be happy. I can even remove the PowerBook from the Firewire port now without getting any errors!

So, a workaround is to (temporarily if you wish) connect a Firewire-disk to the card. That will stop the errormessages from showing up.
The solution has to come from Apple. Empty Firewire ports should be allowed to 'not send any valid selfIDs' ever...

  • Can't get rid of ads popping up and open up every few minutes.

Every few minutes i get pop up ads and/or windows that open and play music or videos. I can't get rid of this and it's using all of my internet and slows it down a lot.

You should check with a mal- / adware scanner.<br>
There are several scanners for example Malwarebytes or CCleaner.<br>
I myself like and use Malwarebytes, see for info and free download https://www.malwarebytes.org/

  • Why does my iPad continually prompt me to enter my apple Id and password? Every 5 minutes? Where can I change this setting. My password is correct.

My iPad always asks me to enter my I'd and password. It is the correct password but seems to be set to prompt this question every 5 minutes. Where do I change this. I'm going nuts! Am 72 and everything else works great but don't want this interruption. Please help. Thank you.

Try rebooting your iPad:  Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple Logo and then let go of both buttons and your iPad will reboot.  You won't lose any settings or data.  See if that stops the problem.
If it doesn't.  Go to Settings > App Store Sign out of your Apple ID, then sign back in.  Make sure all the information is correct.

  • IPhone crashes and reboots itself every 2 minutes after updating to iOS 5.01

I saw other people complaing about problems with their devices after updating to the new firmware, but this one wasn't one of those problems. After updating to iOS 5 I did have a few crashes but then some time passed and they stop. The battery meter also seemed to be okay. It wasn't until today that the problems not only came back, but became much worse. I updated the firmware to 5.01 and not only is the battery acting up again, but my phone crashes every 1 to 2 minutes. Suddenly the screen goes black, I wait like a minute for the phone to reboot itself, then it's another minute of it working properly and then the same thing happens and it repeats all over again. I guess it might be important to point out that I'm with a 3gs, which I bought from a country (in Europe) in which I'm not right now (I'm still in Europe though), so there is no way for me to get any help from tech support.

Ok nevermind that, I restored it via my PC and so far I haven't had any problems (it's been a little less than an hour, so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed)

  • K9AGM and Vista : Reboot every 10 minutes

Vista Home Premium 32 bit installed fine on the K9AGM. The OS runs fine for precisely 10 minutes and then, it resets. There is no kernel trap (blue screen) but just a reset.
-RAM have been tested extensively without problems
-Reset occurs precisely after 10 minutes every time
-CPU is a single core 3800+
-During the first 10 minutes, Vista is working as expected
-Power Management setting does not seem to have an effect on the problem
-XP MCE 2005 runs without a hitch on this machine and therefore, it seems to be a Vista related issue only
I still investigate the issue to identify the faulty setting or driver.
Any help or additional information is appreciated.

    Here are some additional details.
    HARDWARE
    -Motherboard K9AGM-FID
    -AMD Athlon64 3800+ with AMD Fan/Heat sink
    -2x512MB Kingston ValueRAM KVR667D2N5K2
    -Seagate Baracuda 7200.10 300GB SATA II (ST3300622AS)
-Antec NSK2400 case including Antec 380W PSU with following amperages:
     +5v:25A +12v:16A +3.3v:25A +5vSB:2A
    -Nothing else on the motherboard
    OTHER TESTS PERFORMED
-Under both Vista safe modes (with and without networking), reset occurs after 10 minutes flat.
-Every suspect option in BIOS has been tested.
    -Not related with screen saver.
-Away mode disabled in Power Options.
Has anybody sucessfully installed Vista on this motherboard?
    Any input greatly appreciated.

  • MacBook Retina 13 fan goes up all the time and wlan crashes every few minutes

    Hello,
I've got a MacBook Retina 13" Haswell edition and as soon I open any kind of app or if I just idle at the desktop the fan goes up to 100% and the temperature of the CPU goes over 90celsius all the time.
Also my wifi connection drops all the time im not using my thunderbolt bridge which is super annoying, it can only be fixed by tuning the wifi on and off and after 10 minutes it disconnects again.
is there any way to fix it?

Backup your data or Home folder. Boot from your Snow Leopard installer disc. Select your language and click on the Continue button. Wait for the menubar to appear then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard drive from the DU sidebar, click on the Erase tab in the DU main window. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended, Journaled, then click on the Erase button. When the process is finished quit DU and return to the installer. Complete the installation.
After you have reinstalled OS X you can restore your data from the backup.

  • I have to log in every 5 minutes, what can i do to so this won't happen again

when i opened for example my hotmail account, when i left the account for a few minutes, i have to log in again. everytime this repeats. Also with other sites where i have to login. How can i get an other situation, so i would not login so often?
    Gr. Karin

This has now cleared up for me, I don't know why.  Maybe Apple has fixed it?  I did "Clear Recent History" in Firefox, but that didn't fix it immediately.  It cleared up shortly after that, so maybe that had something to do with it.  It's a mystery!

  • My ipad2 screen is just alternating between apple logo and stationary swirl every few minutes. Any suggestions?

it seems to be trying to boot, but never progresses.  I cannot turn it off and no combination of buttons seems to change the pattern.

See the step 5 under the Resolution Section here. You may need to take step 5 to the next step which is recovery mode. The kb article has a link to that as well.

  • Delete sessions and logs in SM35

    Hi,
I am trying to delete sessions and logs under "In Process" tab without success. Once I deleted the sessions and logs, I received the confirmation message "4 session(s) and log(s) deleted", but the entries are still there. Any suggestions?
I managed to delete sessions and logs under "Process", "Incorrect" tab and so on except the entries under "In Process".
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Please execute the report RSBDCCKA and RSBDCCKT in your system and delete all the listed inconsistencies by these reports.
After this, please try to delete the  "In Process" sessions.
If still, you are not able delete the sesison, please follow the way I have suggested in my earlier thead.
    With Regards,
    Saurabh
