AFP won't allow me to "allow" or "deny" webcam

Hi,
I have the following issue and was wondering whether I could receive some help. I have read through quite a few threads on this forum and tried a solution but it hasn't worked. The problem is that I whenever I try to use my webcam on a website, the AFP dialog box pops up asking me to "allow" or "deny" access to that particular website. However I can't click on yes or no because the dialog box itself freezes. The browser does not freeze as I can navigate to other parts of the website (for example, "Home"). I have tried going on to the website using different browsers but it hasn't helped.
I have tried to uninstall and re-install AFP. I have used the following procedure to uninstall and re-install AFP:
1) Download the uninstaller to desktop
2) Close all programs (including any programs in the system tray - such yahoo/msn messenger)
3) Run the uninstaller program
4) re-boot the computer
5) checked on the following page to see if the AFP had uninstalled; http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
6) Downloaded and installed the latest version of AFP (version 10.1.82.76)
7) Restarted my computer
The above hasn't worked for me. I have checked that all my drivers are up to date for my webcam and all other hardware.
I have turned off my firewall and anti-virus but this hasn't worked. I have tried to access the hardware accelerator settings for AFP but the box keeps freezing so I can't do it. The only way I am able to get around the box is if I go to the global settings manager for AFP and click on the website and state "always allow".
System information:
Operating system - Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit
Web browser - Firefox 3.6.8, Internet Explorer 8, Google Chrome 5.0.375.127
Adobe Flash Player - version 10.1.82.76
Firewall/Anti-virus: Zone Alarm Extreme Security Version 9.3.014.000
Webcam: Vimicro USB 2.0 UVC PC Camera
The same problem occurs for me on all three web browsers.
Any help would be much appreciated. I hope I have given enough information.

Hi, Troubleshooting is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, right? LOL I'm always amazed computers work at all:-)
Hats off to the Microsofts, the Apples, the Adobes and all of the others that do all they do, so I don't mind a glitch here and there.
You are probably correct about the allow/deny selection for Zone Alarm. I used it at one time and I had a hard time with it due to not understanding what an allow or deny would do:-) Glad you were able to see that.
The FF vs 3.6.9 from what I have read was all about Security. I was over there late last night reading. Link here:

At a guess (you don't list the error), what maybe happening is that you have booted from the original OS install disc, told it to install the (old) original OS on to the hard disk and it has said - no thanks you cannot install an older version because it already has a newer version installed.
This is 'normal', what you have to do is totally erase the hard disk first. You do this by booting from the original OS install disc, but rather than trying to do an install straight away, you should first use Disk Utility and use that to erase the hard disk. Then you can run the install again and because the hard disk will be empty it will not have a newer OS on it and the installer will be happy.
Obviously this means any files you have on the hard disk will be erase as well. If you want to keep them you are going to need to back them up first, the easiest way would be to use Time Machine to backup to an external hard disk.

If you've gone through all that and it's the right kind of SD card, right naming convention etc. try giving your iPad a reset. Sometimes that port gets turned off (for lack of a better term) and a reset turns it back on. Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again.
If it still doesn't work, if you have access to another iPad try the reader on that. THere are some defective ones out there. If it works on another iPad then there's something going on with yours. If it doesn't work on another iPad then you may want to take that reader back and exchange it because it may be bad.

I'm guessing you only have the modem/router supplied by your isp and the Airport Express. Is the Airport Express connected to the modem/router with an ethernet cable? If not, plug one end of the cable into an available port on the modem/router and the other end in to the WAN port, indicated with a dashed circle, on the Airport Express.

I have the same problem but in reverse. I clicked on don't allow in FaceBook when I was asked to allow it to access my photos and videos. I have been into the privacy settings as suggested by FaceBook and there is no link.

I've recently changed my network provider. iTunes recognized the new number and amended it in iTunes. My original number is now available but iTunes won't accept it or allow me to change the number on the device. How can I resolve this?

I have just changed my telophone provider in the UK from )2. To transfer the number, which I wanted to retain, took 24 hours and I was given a new number by the new provider Virgin Mobile. To unblock my iPhone I had to connect it to iTunes, which recognised my device and changed the telephone number. 24 hours later, my old number returned but iTunes won't recognise the device or allow me to change the number back to the original. How do I reslove this?

If you only changed the name of your ID rather than creating a new ID, just go to Settins>iCloud and tap Delete Account then sign back in with the new name. (Deleting the account from your phone does not delete it from iCloud. Your data will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.)
If you created a new ID, you'll have to go to Settings>iCloud on your phone and turn all data you are syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off. When prompted choose to keep the data on your iPhone. (If you are syncing iWork documents with iCloud, also open your iWork apps and turn off iCloud syncing and choose to keep the documents on your phone.) After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Next, set up a new iCloud account using your other ID, then turn syncing for your data (contacts, etc.) back to On. When prompted, choose Merge. This will upload the data to your new account.
You won't lose any photos in your camera roll or photo library. If you have any photos in your photo stream that are over 30 days old that are not in your camera roll or saved on your computer, be sure to save these to the camera roll before deleting the account. To do so, open the photo stream album on your iPhone in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos you need to save to select them, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.

In CS5, why won't Action Script 3 allow me to add a stop(); code before my label frame?

This is something the CS4 book says I need to so that my animation stops at the photo when I click the button, rather than seeing it scroll through all the pictures at once. BUT, in CS5, it won't allow me to do this. I am wondering if it has to do with me having changed the action code from "gotoAndStop" to "gotoAndPlay" before I tried to add the stop(); command? I need the animation to stop at each photo as I click the link. The book I've been referencing is "Adobe CS4 Classroom In a Book" - Lesson 6, with the peacock photo gallery, for anyone who has that book. I don't know how to get this to work properly.

Here is the message I get when I try to add a stop command for each photo:
" In Acton Script 3.0, code cannot be placed directly on objects. Please select a frame or use the Code Snippets panel to apply code to the current selection on stage" .
I changed my AS3 code back to "gotoAndStop" but its still giving me this message. My first photo is on frame 20, so I clicked frame 19 in the action layer per the instructions, to add the stop command. It won't work still.
Now, in the textbook, it says to go to the frame immediately before my photo's frame, and add "stop ();" but it won't allow me to do this now. Also, in the book, when I added a tween, it doesn't add a separate layer in the examples for each photo. But it DOES when I actually add tweens to the photos.

In addition to my iPhone 5s not allowing me to answer any FaceTime calls, my iPad Air freezes the FaceTime screen and has to be restored to be able to use it again. My Macbook Pro freezes the FaceTime screen and the visual is always blurry. In addition it drops the call after no longer then five minutes. EXTREMELY IRRITATED. Feels like I'm dealing with another set of Dell products.

Why won't Dreamweaver code view allow me to select from all of my system fonts?

I am trying to change the font for my code view in Dreamweaver CC. However, it does not let me choose from a list of all fonts installed on my computer...it just gives me about 50 or so random fonts (some of them glyph fonts which are completely useless in this scenario). It doesn't even include basics like Courier. I had previously been using CS4, and it allowed me to choose any font I wanted. Any ideas?

I've just checked Dreamweaver CC on my MacBook Air. I don't know whether it lists every single font on my machine, but the list was very long. It certainly wasn't just a short, random list. Are you trying to change the Code view font in the right place?

Popup window won't appear, even after allowing website in IE 10's popup blocker

I have tried desperately to download iTunes onto my Win7 computer, but even in Google Chrome 35 & IE 10, the popup window refuses to appear, & therefore I cannot download iTunes. What else is causing this? Is there a direct download link that I can email to myself to download iTunes? My iPhone 4s is almost full, & I need to take off some files to allow more room.

I'm using Chrome 35 (latest build):

Click on the green Download button (top right).
On the next screen, click the Download Now button
The installer should download immediately - no pop-up window - by default it'll be saved in C:\Downloads.

Why won't my Power Button allow the iMac to sleep anymore?

When trying to make the imac sleep, the power button no longer works to allow me to do that? Can i ask if anyone had the same issue and has fixed it? I did the SMC thing but It still wont go to sleep.

If none of that helps, it could be your power button needs fixing. Mind you, I don't like using the power button, since it can just as easily accidently act like you are powering down without saving anything, create a scenario where your directory may get damaged.
