After 1.5 upgrade, not able to sync to 1G iPod
I connected my 1G iPod today and it responded that I needed to update the firmware to v1.5. The upgrade went well but immediately after the upgrade, iTunes does not sync to my iPod. Anyone have any idea what I can do to get this thing working?

voice memos are part of the backup. So back up your ipod manually and restore from that backup after the first sync wiped your ipod and your voice memos should be in place again. Here's how to:
Set up your iTunes account, authorize your computer in the Store menu. Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your device, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
This will copy all settings, photos and 3rd party data to iTunes.
Do the same thing to transfer your purchases to be sure to have the latest apps and media copied over.
Set up at least one contact and event on the computer, so that calendars and contacts are being merged during the first sync.
Since all data will be erased during this first sync, use this backup to restore your settings afterwards.

It tells that as iTunes can not read the contents-restore to factory settings- after restoring – it tells that it can not be restored bcause there are files that are used by other application. My iPOD appears in My Computer in drive H as a mass storage generick volume
Try disabilng the Enable Disk Use option from under the iPod's Summary tab, applying the changes, and seeing if that helps.
Otherwise, temporarily disabling any antivirus, security, firewall, or file indexing software that may be running on your system and then try restoring your iPod again.

Not able to sync after updation
After i updated the softwere to IOS 5.0 version im not able to sync the phone so far, more than 20 attemps so far over 6 months of time.
i could not update it until i deleted all video and songs from phone,
after that so far not able to sync or load any files to handset.
it start syncing and gets struck at backingup up "STEP 2 OF 7".
tried updating itunes to latest one and also IOS to 5.0.1 thought handset,
Its one scrap set now with only contacts, apps and photos.
Anybody to help?

What I've determined is the "Sync Manager" window - when you select what to sync to you iPod/iPhone device that you've selected in the left hand window - does not appear to work for Audio Books.
We we're choosing Sync Audiobooks -> Selected audiobooks and NOTHING we selected was getting synced. More importantly, and this took a long time to see, none of the selected items were reflected in the little checkboxes in her iTunes library view.
Once I MANUALLY selected the books in the iTunes library view, things started syncing.
So it appears the audio books you select to sync when setting up your phone, do not get registered properly as "things to sync".
Definitely looks like an iTunes bug to me. Until they fix it, try manually checking the books you want to sync in your library view.

I am not able to sync my iphone 4s to my itunes because my mac software is not up to date. What do I need to do?
Is this a brand new phone? If it is, which iTunes version does it say it requires (see side of box)?
With a Mac running 10.5.8 you can install the last version of iTunes 10.6

An older iPhone 4S should work with the above but if it is a brand new one I don't know. If the box says it requires iTunes 10.7 then you will have to upgrade to OSX 10.6.8 at least in order to run iTunes 10.7. You provide no information about your computer hardware so I can't tell you if this is even possible.
1) Make sure your computer meets Snow Leopard technical specifications - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575 This mostly means making sure it is an Intel Mac and has at least 1GB RAM (more is recommended). To check RAM, go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac". Now continue to "More Info...". It should say you have at least 1GB of "memory".
2) Apple no longer carries 10.6 in its stores or online. Telephone Apple to purchase a Snow Leopard disc. In the USA: (800) 676-2775 (contact information for other countries: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57)
Alternatively you can buy from online retailers but anticipate paying much more than the original price which is the price still charged by Apple
3) Backing up your computer before upgrading is always a good idea.

A while back I had to restore my laptop to factory settings due to a virus. Until that time, I was able to sync my newer Ipod Touch 4th Generation. Now, even though when I connect my Ipod, it shows it there, I am unable to sync it with my Itunes on my laptop. Therefore, I cannot get all my music onto the Ipod. I tried to troubleshoot. It said to go under my Ipod and manually sync, but when I clicked the "sync" but, after a few minutes an error came up saying "Could not sync. Sync failed to start." Anyone know what I can do?

C3-00 v4.60 not able to sync to OVI
I have WIFI at home (and several other places) but not a data plan through my cell provider. In WIFI areas I've been able to set up OVI email and eventually also get the communications app to connect to my gmail account (after dozens of attempts). I can also browse the web with the Opera app and can also browse the OVI store. I would like to be able to sync my C3-00 calendar with a web based system for faster data entry and so I can share access with select others. I would prefer to use a non-proprietary system like gmail, but I have set up the OVI web based calendar since I don't seem to be able to sync to the gmail calendar. However, I am not able to sync to the OVI calendar either. After following some setup instructions I found on the Nokia/OVI web sites, when I go to Settings->Sync & backup->Sync with server->Server Sync it prompts "Synchronize data with ovi.com ovi.com? Calendar, Contacts, Notes" (yes it lists ovi.com twice) but it never works and says "Data transfer not possible. Check data connection." Can anyone please let me know how to fix this problem? Also, is it possible to sync to gmail calendar? If so, where are the instructions?
I am experiencing the same problem. What I think is happening is that the 'server sync' function always uses GPRS or Edge, instead of Wi-Fi, no matter how much convincing you try.
I have seen some postings that say you need to remove all data packet access points from the phone configuration. So far I haven't see how that's done though.... -

I have iphone 3g with OS 2.2.1 and itunes 8.1
I m not able to sync with i tunes.
Whenever i connect phone, Itunes get hung .
Sometimes it displays foll message:
Itunes was unbale to connect iphone because it recieved an invalid response.
If i restart and connect it gives
Unable to Load Dataclas information for the iphone.Try reconnecting.
I did every thing
De-install,Re-install each and every thing based on suggestions at various places,still no use.
Even tried Syncing with Other OS XP , same problem-> Itunes gets hanged.
Im absolutely clueless about whats happened.
Somehow i was able to update the OS to 2.2.1 .
Dont know where the problem is....
Can any problem with Hardware lead to Such error..If yes..What are the probable hardware reasone...
Software wise i dont think anything is left unchecked,still any suggestions, help welcome..

Please Please Please Help..!!!!!!!!!As I read you updated your iPhone to 2.2.1. That means that maybe this cause the problem.
Sometimes when I connect my iPhone to iTunes I saw the message what says that "iTunes was unable to connect to the iPhone... " but if I reconnect my iPhone then iTunes recognize my phone and everything is OK.
If the reconnecting does not help you then I advise that reset your iPhone with 'Erase All Data and Settings'. Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Data and Settings.
If you reset your iPhone with 'Erase All Data and Settings' then your iPhone will delete your files and also the 2.2.1 software update and after that it will run with the original software what you bought with it.
The reset takes approximately 2 hours. And this is delete everything from your iPhone.
So, as it seems you can't back up your iPhone, that means everything what is on your iPhone will be deleted except if you don't have them on your computer.
After you reseted your iPhone, try to connect with iTunes. If it won't works then try it on an another Mac or PC and if you can't sync your iPhone at all, you have to take your iPhone to your carrier for a service.
Important note: After you reseted your iPhone, it will please that connect to iTunes to activate the phone. If you can't connect to iTunes your phone, you won't be able to use it!
As you know, without activating you can't use the iPhone.
If you can do the activation then you probably will be able to sync it.
If you can't be without mobile phone and just the iPhone what you've then don't do that until you maybe could miss your phone (I mean if you iPhone have to be serviced). -

I am facing issues with my music on my iOS device. I have five devices connected to my apple id. And out of which a Windows Machine and iPhone is not able to sync the purchased songs on the the Windows machine and the iPhone. The iPhone4 shows the songs are not supported and on the Windows Machine the songs do not play completely. Can anyone advice what could have gone wrong ? Because rest of the devices are synced to MacBook and they are able to sync the content normally. I have even subscribed to iTunes Match but the problem is still not fixed.

Devices refer to iDevices... iPod... iPhone... iPad. .. Not Computers.
Authoriation applies ONLY to Computers... of which there is a Limit of 5 per Apple ID.
If the issue is with iTunes on your Windows Computer... Perhaps you need to Re-install iTunes...
