I have hd picture but no sound, tv says hdmi audio unavailable , this happened right after update 1.6.2 my television is an HP PL4260N, I saw on other post in fixya.com other people with same problem after update too. Any ideas on fixing this? I already spent 2hrs with tech support trying to fix this and no luck, they had me use components I never had any problems before this update, is there a way to go back to 1.6.1? One more thing my standard channels work fine (video & audio)
You may need to revert to using component cables until they hammer out the issues with HDMI. Just hang on to that HDMI cable for future use when these issues are resolved. You will not see a degrade in picture quality with component cables. Only downside is the added cabling mess.

You said that your computer will sync other iPods? Are they iPod touches? Other iPod use different drivers the the touch And iPhone and iPad).

When you say reset, do you mean a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignoring the red slider if it appears?

I have 4s. After I updated ios7.0.3 my wifi is geyed out. I expected after ios7.0.4 update wifi will work again, but does not. It annoying, because I have to use my data... Does anyone know when it will be fixed or does anyone have the same problem?

I made an appointment at the Genius bar, where the staff was incredibly rude and dismissive. A representative told me that the wi-fi is broken and I would need to buy a new phone for $200, because mine is out of warranty. I'm due for an upgrade in a few months, so I'm not going to pay $200 for another 4S now. I'm also not going to buy any more Apple products. I tried to update the latest software update for my MacBook pro (which was on 10/12) and after it started to update it restarted like normal but when it started back up it was running painfully slow and none oft programs will open.They all quit unexpectedly. iTunes microsoft word all of them quit unexpectedly. Exact same problem with my 2010 MBP 2.4ghz 4gb ram 10.6.8. iTunes said update was needed, Software Update ran with various updates including a security update, truthfully didn't pay much attention, I always install the Apple updates. After the restart it took 3-4 times longer than normal to get to the login screen, same to get to the desktop but I'm familiar with that occurring on update restarts. Unfortunately it got worse from there. Performed a full shutdown and startup. Same long boot. After the desktop finally loads every mouse button press received a 2 minute beachball. I use menu-meters and both processors are under 10%. Waited a few minutes for disk utilities to launch, repair permissions estimates 3 hours for a typical <10 minute process. Activity monitor shows nothing over 10% CPU most of the time however ReportCrash pops to the top often. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW zero problems until this update.

Hi, I try to conect Mac Mini from 2009 with my HD Tv Samsung F 6400 . With Mini Dvi conection and adapter to HDMI input in TV I got picture but not sound! I have analog cable from the phones out from mac but imposible to conect to TV? Can you HLP?
You really need a newer Mac Mini with a true HDMI output, because that Mac Mini's DVI output does not support Audio.
You might try a 3.5mm to RCA adapter
from the Mac Mini's headphone jack to the TV's audio input,
but that would require being able to select the Audio input in the TVs menu while using it's HDMI input.
Optionally you could also use an external 2.1 Speaker System or patch the audio from the Mac Mini to your home stereo system to enhance that older Mac Mini's audio. -

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

my start up disc is full i have a macbook air, i back everuthing up with time capsule and have movies all my music libraries and photos onto that too so as i have free space, but my max still says my startup disc is full with "other"
First, empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of your data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
If you're using Time Machine to back up a portable Mac, some of the available space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of files you've recently deleted. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as "Backups." The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself.
To locate large files, you can use Spotlight as described here. That method may not find large folders that contain a lot of small files.
You can also use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal. -

Go to Settings>General>Usage, and under iCloud, click on Manage Storage>click on your device, then under Backup Options, turn Photo Library off and then back on. See if that clears it up.
If it does not, reset your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Slide to Unlock screen redisplays, see if the issue is resolved.

With my updates i have lost all of my Audio books that I have purchased and when I look it up it doesnt come up that I purchased any. They were all purchased from iTunes. I had about 16 Audiobooks.
How can I get them backAudiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store - I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them that are requiring the one-time only download. Do you have copies of them in the Books part of your computer's iTunes library or on your backup of your downloads ? If not, and if they are still in the store, then you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a re-download : : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
If you haven't got copies of them on your computer and Apple let you redownload them then take a backup copy of them and anything else that you've downloaded from the store - even with apps, ibooks, music etc there is no guarantee that they will remain in the store for future re-downloading (content providers occasionally remove their items from the store).
