After 1+ days at a time of working fine, MBP refuses to connect to wireless

A cursory search didn't turn up any identical problems, so I am starting a new post about this one.
I've had this brand new MBP for 4 months or so. In the past 2 weeks, this problem has surfaced. After being connected to a wireless network without incident for one or two days, the MBP will lose the connection with the network. At this point, it will not connect to the network unless the router is restarted. When I attempt to reconnect, it tells me that the connection has timed out. I have tried turning off my airport, restarting the computer, & renewing my lease. No dice. The only quick fix that I've found is restarting the router.
Now, here's the kicker. *At first, I thought that it was a problem with my home router*, as that was the only connection I've used recently. However, I am out of town and have been using the connection in this convention center for the past two days. Today, the problem surfaced again. Because I have no way to mess with their routers, I have walked back to my hotel to type this message. Yes, that's right. Apparently when I move to a new connection, the problem disappears. It seems to be only on each unique network that the problem manifests itself.
Does anyone else have this problem, and does anyone else know a way to fix it?

EDIT: I should mention that it doesn't seem to matter whether the network is password protected or not. At home, it allows me to type in the password before telling me that it has timed out about 5 seconds later. At this convention center, the network is unsecured.

Hi Jon,
Have you tried creating a new network location? Here's a good article explaining the steps on how to do that - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712 (the process is towards the bottom of the article)
That would be the first step. The next step would be to ensure all your software is up to date, followed by a reinstallation of the OS. If that still doesn't resolve the issue, at multiple locations, then I suspect there might be a hardware issue with the Airport card. But only after exhausting all of the usual software troubleshooting strategies would I consider a hardware malfunction.

    Thanks for the reply but there is no option tab or wake for administration use in mountain lion 10.8.2, I only have the wake for network access which is on, I didnt used to have this problem before snow leopard now I have to manually re-login after computer wakes and then access remotely ........

    Yes, that's terribly slow.  You should get somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-24 GB/hour via Ethernet, assuming there isn't a lot of conflicting network traffic or your Mac's CPU is under very heavy load.
    Are you sure you're actually using the Ethernet connection, instead of WIFI?   To check, turn Airport off.  If the backup fails, it's on WIFI.  In that case, you need to set Ethernet as the "preferred" network, via System Preferences > Network.  Click the "gear" icon at the bottom of the sidebar and select Set Service order.  Then drag Ethernet above Airport.  When both Airport and Ethernet are on, that will make OSX select Ethernet over Airport.
    If that doesn't help, see #D2 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.

    I've researched this extensively, but I haven't been able to solve my problem yet.
    It started completely out of the blue with a kernel panic, where my screen seemed to malfunction and I got the kernel panic message (but I could hardly read it because of distorted graphics). I forced my laptop to shut down, but every time I rebooted and used it again it would completely freeze after a while (the amount of time varied, it has lasted from a few seconds to a couple of hours). What happens essentially is that the cursor and entire OS freezes, and I'm unable to click on anything or use the keyboard. The fans start working full speed and the only thing I can do is force the laptop to shut down.
    At first I thought it was a Chrome problem because it only happened after I opened the browser. After uninstalling it, the laptop seemed to work fine for a couple of hours, but then it froze again while I was using Safari. Ever since it has been functioning normally for smaller and smaller time periods before freezing again. I've tried reinstalling Snow Leopard OS from the original disc and then downloading all software updates, but the problem continues. I've also tried doing a hardware test by pressing D as the computer starts up, but for some reason it doesn't work.
    The laptop, including Chrome and Safari, works fine in safe mode.
    I'm sorry I don't know what specific information to give you about my laptop/OS, but please ask anything you need to know. I'd greatly appreciate any help — I'm panicking because I fly to England tomorrow morning to start university and I really don't want to go without a laptop for 2 weeks while it's getting fixed!

    Sadly this is not a new problem and I would not expect a forthcoming solution.  I bought an iPad 3G and the iWork suite at the end of August and iCloud syncing worked fine.  About the time Apple rolled out iOS 6 the syncing stopped working for me (without me upgrading or changing anything).  It has never really worked since.   Run iOS 5.1.1 on both the iPhone 4 and iPad 3G.  The "geniuses" claim that Apples iOS 5 requirement is not correct and that I MUST upgrade both to ios 6 (although I know for fact that lots of folks STILL have the iCloud probs even with its 6.  The last genius basically shrugged and non-verbally acknowledged the iCloud/iWork failing and suggested "just use Dropbox.". So why the **** did we pay for iWork!?!?!
    Basically the  iwork/iCloud Connnection is broken and I have yet to get a viable solution to repair the issue.  Sorry for the bad news.  For reference I have uninstalled/installed each iteration of iWork upgrades on each device without success.  I have reset all settings multiple times, turned iCloud off/on repeatedly etc etc without success.  I even wiped the iPad and restored from iCloud w/o intention (another Apple IPad "glitch" when I tried the "reset all settings" and the iPad decided to "erase all" instead.  The genius said "it happens.")
    Oddly, the Pages app is the only one that has marginally worked at times since the first probs.  However it is basically broken and non-functioning.  Certainly DO NOT trust vital documents to iCloud/iWork.  I lost a number of work critical docs in this whole annoying, messy process of trying to get what Apple promised as easy....

    Sounds like you have corrupt backup data, if this occurs from one phone to another. Try restoring the phone as a new device, without a backup. Try using for a day before installing any other apps, etc. See if that improves the battery life. Then try syncing back applications a couple at a time. Something seems to be locking in the processor which is draining the battery.
    Do you live in an area where there are Apple Stores? If so, try making an appointment with the Genius Bar to have the device checked out.

    It sounds like you have modified the password settings for your Gmail account after changing the password. Thats where I would have started too. Next I would restart the device and test it one more time, and then remove and add the account again in Settings:
    Get help with Mail on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
    Restart your iOS device.
    Delete the affected email account from your device.
    Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Tap the affected email account.
    Tap Delete Account.
    Add your account again.

    Hi Nfrith1,
    Please take a look at the article referenced below, the same as in my original reply.  The receiver on the iPhone does not have anything to do with the speakers on the bottom of the phone nor your microphone.
    Clear the receiver
    The iPhone receiver won't work properly if it's blocked or dirty. Here's where the receiver is:
    Follow these steps, testing after each:
    Make sure nothing is blocking the receiver, such as a case or film.
    If you have a new iPhone, remove the plastic film on the front and back of the device.
    Check the receiver opening to see if it's blocked or dirty. If necessary, clean the receiver opening with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush.
    While you're on a call, turn on speakerphone. If you still can't hear, then your network or reception could be the issue. Try calling again later or from a different location.
    Restart and update
    Restart your iPhone and test again.
    If there's still no sound or poor sound quality, update to the latest version of iOS.
    Get more help
    If you've tried these steps and there's still no sound or poor sound quality from your iPhone, contact Apple Support.
    Learn what to do if other people can't hear you on a call.
    If you can't hear a person on a call or voicemail or if the sound quality is poor on iPhone

    Have you checker the connectors on both the transmitter and Nano for any signs of damaged, corroded pins?  It might help to take a can of compressed air to each.  The error message may be simply a result of the iPod Nano not getting a full connection with the transmitter at first.

    If you have not done so, try exiting the Photo app (and maybe more apps if you have a lot open) from the Open Apps List and see if a discount/reconnect opens the app. If that does not work, try powering down the iPad and test. If it is still not working try a hard reset by pressing both Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time until the Apple graphic appears, ignoring the Slide to Power Off button.

    Make sure your hard drive is formatted properly for the operating system installed.  Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac to determine what it is.  You posted to the 10.5 forum, but your signature says you have 10.9.  Here is the tip on what formatting supports what operating systems:

    Mavericks does really nasty stuff..
    Try manually mounting the sparsebundle and extract the files you want.

    We have avoided Mavericks you see knowing that it would cause these kinds of issues..
    You never ever load a new OS without doing a disk image beforehand.. TM is not reliable enough or trustworthy to be depended on.
    If none of the above work..
    I would get a USB drive on the computer and install Mountain Lion or whatever OS you had before you unfortunately upgraded to Mavericks.. Then use TM from that decent installation but mount the sparsebundle and choose the backup from a date well before mavericks was installed.
    Once you have extracted the files.. or even done a full restore you might be able to extract the files you want.
