After 10.6.3 PS will not open in Rosetta

I need to run Photoshop CS3 in Rosetta due to some older plugins I have. Ever since upgrading to 10.6.3 Photoshop will not open when I try to open it it in Rosetta.
Any clues, workarounds?

No, an updater won't disable Rosetta, but you may have had some problems with the updated system that has caused some problem with Rosetta. So, it can't hurt to reinstall Rosetta then run the 10.6.3 Combo Updater that you can download from support.apple.com/downloads/.
Before doing the above I suggest you do this:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

• After I update itunes, it will not open.

For the past year I have been trying to fix this problem. After I try to update my itunes, it will not open on my computer. Sometimes it says my quicktime is not updated or it says my windows is not compatible. I have no idea how to fix this problem!! If anyone can help, that would be awesome!! Thank you!!

Taken from another post:
1) Uninstall whatever version of itunes and quicktime your running. Go to your control panel and under "add/delete" programs select both applications. This will not wipe your song files.
2) after you delete both applications. Reinstall itunes version 7.5. This will also automatically install Quicktime 7.3. Things will still not work.
3) Go back into"add/delete" and uninstall quicktime. BLOW it away.
4) Go to the following link and download and install quicktime version 7.2
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/quicktime72forwindows.html
5) Restart itunes....all should work.

• Firefox works fine until after lunch. Then it will not open, unless I reboot. Am at work, & I shouldnt have to do that, NEED a fix.

Everyday its the same thing. By midafternoon, Firefox will not open unless I reboot. I am at work, and have too many things open all day to stop and reboot for a browser, when I also have IE. I prefer Firefox, it is set as my default, and have many passwords saved there that are not saved in IE. Surely there is a fix for this? I have removed it, downloaded it again, followed other suggestions from your site, but still have the same problem. If I leave a window open all day long, it will still work for me, and thats what I try to do. However, invariably, there will come that accidental second that I hit the red X at the top and totally regret it! Please help!

I had tried this before, but went ahead and tried this again.
I clicked on "reset Firefox". Firefox closed, but did not come back up. When I tried to open it again, I did receive a message that said Firefox is running but is not responding, that I couldn't open another window without stopping the processes on the other page.
I never got a window that showed me the information that was imported, or a place to click finish.
Since I don't believe this completed, I don't believe my problem will be solved.

• After an auto update firefox will not open due to an incomplete update

firefox performed an automatic update 4 days ago. It is 3.6 version. once the browser closed it refuses to reopen-message reads you must restart firefox-update was incomplete. When you restart and try to open the browser-you get the same message. If you try to uninstall-you get the same message. Nothing works

Remove the files and folders to reset the software update feature as shown here http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_Update#Software_Update_not_working_properly
Delete the Firefox installation directory, default location C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\
Download the setup file from http://www.mozilla.com and run it to re-install. Doing this will not remove your bookmarks or other user data.

• Whilst connected to internet itunes will only open once after rebooting and thereafter it will not open again until reboot. When reboot with internet off itunes will open repeatedly. Help

This problem has only appeared in the past few days before that I had nio problems with itunes. Firstly I discovered that I could only open Itunes once after reboot - thereafter it would not reopen until I reboot again. I have spent considerable hours yesterday talking to the Apple help by phone and tried all there suggestions including of course reinstalling itunes amongst other things. Eventually I thought the problem had been solved when I discovered that I could suddenly open Itunes repeatedly without rebooting. After a short time I then discovered that the reason it was working agai was that I had rebooted with the internet disconnected and itunes would open repeatedly as normal provide I left the internet disconnected. When I reconnect to internet the problem resurfaces. • After upgrade to 7, iTunes will not open

I was using iTunes 6 fine until I upgraded to 7 this morning. Now when I try to run iTunes, after I Accept the license agreement I get an error "The iTunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occurred".

• After I close Firefox, it will not open again unless I restart my computer.

When I close Firefox normally, I cannot open it again unless I restart my computer. Why?

Yes, that is a strong indication that Firefox didn't close completely.
You can check that in the Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del).
If you see Firefox and plugin-container processes then you can close (kill) those processes and you should be able to start Firefox after having done that.
There are other things that need your attention.
Your system details list shows that you still have a very old Flash 9.0 r45 plugin installed that you should remove.
*Shockwave Flash 11.7 r700
*Shockwave Flash 9.0 r45
This plugin might be installed in the plugins folder in the Firefox program folder.
*(32 bit Windows) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\
You can set the plugin.expose_full_path pref to true on the about:config page to see the full path of enabled installed plugins on the about:plugins page.
See:
You can open about:xxxx pages via the location bar like you open a website.
It is best not to leave that pref set to true as it exposes that full path to web servers via the navigator.plugins object, so reset that pref to its default value false after you are done with the about:plugins page and have located the old Flash plugin.
See "Manually uninstalling a plugin":

• After downloading i0s7 my itunes will not open on my iphone. It opens for a second and closes. I've upgraded, updated and restarted my phone a number of times? Anyone experiencing any similar issues?

I've downloaded the new software on my iphone and now it won't open itunes. I've done the upgrade, restarted my phone multiple times. Anyone experiencing similar problems. This is infuriating, how can the software mess up a previously functioning device and apple offer no remedy?!

I have already solved the problem by accessing the music tab then logging to iTunes store through it. It hasked for my apple id which was provided, then access was approved.
ever since, I am accessing iTunes directly and there are no problems.
I wonder whether this was the link to the solution.
