After 10.6.4 update, computer appears twice

Question

Very odd, to say the least: I just started my iMac for the first time in about ten days (I've been out of town), and ran Software Update. There were three updates available: 10.6.4, iTunes 9.2, and HP printer driver updates. I started the update process, but it appeared Software Update hung shortly after I clicked restart; it didn't quit, and the computer didn't restart. I manually quit Software Update, restarted the computer, and then re-ran Software Update. This time there were two updates available: 10.6.4 and iTunes 9.2, so I assumed something with the HP printer driver update had goofed things up.
Anyhow, the updates seemed to run fine the second time. Except: in the Finder window sidebar, under Devices, where my computer appears, instead of being listed as "My iMac," it's listed as "My iMac (2)." And under Shared, if I click on All, "My iMac" is listed. Looking at the network from another computer, I can see both "My iMac" and "My iMac (2)."
Any clues what could have caused this -- or even more important, how to fix it -- would be hugely appreciated!

Just adding my own similar experience here. My mac mini pops up on all my networked computers with a (2) and often a (3) copy in the list of networked computers. Usually, only one of the three can successfully connect if I want to share files or open a folder on the mini from one of the other computers. I think it's the "latest" computer (ie. the one labeled (3)) that actually seems to be the "real" one.
Really hope somebody comes up with a fix. Sounds like a Snow Leopard bug.
