After 10.6.7 supplemental update, the "More Info" button is grayed out
I performed the Supplemental Updater for the late 2010 Mac Book Air, and now the "More Info: Button on the About This Mac window stays grayed out. That can't be correct, but I don't see how to fix it.
No there is no "Systems Information" app in the Utilities Folder in the Applications Folder on the MacBook Air, and although "System Profiler" does appear in the Apple Menu when selected while option-clicking, nothing happens and no profile contents window appears. Is there a way to restore the Systems Information app? Can I copy it over from my main desktop running 10.6.7 or is there a version specific for the MacBook Air?

If you are having issues turning on Always Allow for cookies in Safari on your iPad, you may want to check to make sure that you don't have Private Browsing enabled, as noted in the following article:

I have a cloud license but am not able to upgrade Story Free to the Plus version for some reason. In any case I cannot add images to my multi column script because the add image button is grayed out. Any ideas would be welcome.

After upgrade to 10.6.2 the" entire message" search option grayed out
Just upgraded to t10.6.2 but now in the mail when searching for a mail the entire mail search option is not available anymore it is there but it is grayed out it can not be activated. That was the beauty if mail.
on the other hand the To do button now works again
any ideaYou have not said, but I would guess you are using an IMAP account? If so, then might it be that the selection in Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced has gotten changed to not keep copies of messages (and/or attachments) for Offline Viewing? The Entire Mail search will be grayed out when copies of the messages are not stored locally.

I use Firefox 6.0.1 on Windows 7.
I installed '''Free Desktop Clock 2.37''' from Drive Software, and then Firefox was hi-jacked, though I carefully chose the custom installaion.
Edit: Free Desktop Clock itself does not hi-jack Firefox. It's another program (name forgotten) bundled with Free Desktop Clock that did it, adding a toolbar, changing the homepage, changing the default search engine, etc. Actually, those forced alterations can be changed back easily, such as a resetting of the "keyword.url" pref. So, "hi-jack" may be a description that's too strong.
Anyway, I have managed to clean it up -- unsolicited toolbar, forced homepage, forced default search engine, etc.
But there is still one problem.
In the dialogue window of '''Manage Search Engine List''', which appears when you click the drop arrow on the left of the Search Bar and then click Manage Search Engines, the '''Restore Defaults''' button is disabled (grayed out).
How can that button be re-enabled?

Is Free Desktop Clock still listed? If not this may be because the listed search engines are the defaults, so there may be nothing to restore. If you manually added other search engines, you may have to reinstall those separately. How Can I Download Podcasts When The Get Episode Button is Grayed Out?
I can purchase and download songs from the itunes store with no problem. When I attempt to download a podcast, however, I am unable to do so. The Get Episode button in the Price Column is grayed-out. This "gray-out" occurs with ALL podcasts, not just one or two podcasts. I uninstalled itunes and Quicktime from Windows and reinstalled it, but that hasn't solved the problem.
Any ideas?Go to... Edit > Preferences > Parental Control
Make sure you don't have "Disable Podcasts" selected.
If that doesn't work, I don't know what else to tell you. -
I am having a problem uploading photos to basically every place but Facebook. I have contacted these sites and they give instruction on how to do it but the "choose file" button is grayed out on some, OR it says, "if your device doesn't have the capability to upload send your pictures to us. I am assuming u can't upload pictures with iPad 2? Or is it just me.....more than one site doing this, is there a setting somewhere?

System Profiler won't launch/ About this Mac more info button grayed out
Panther 10.3.9 on 1.25 imac G4. I recently restored this mac to get ready to sell it and after the restore and Panther upgrade (from system discs) System Profiler no longer launches. I have run disk utility to repair permissions. The area in the dock opens up for the System Profiler icon but it just shuts right back down. I can't launch it directly from utilities and the "more info" button on the about this mac menu is grayed out. Anyone have a solution? Thanks!

I posted the link to the thread due to the fact that there were a number of suggestions of troubleshooting the user could try to resolve their issue.
One was the standard Repair Disk/Repair Permissions, one was to reset PRAM (not sure why that was suggested in this particular case), and one was to check to see if it could be a font issue and one was to test with a new user account to see if the problem was system wide. And one was for reinstalling System Profiler by using Pacifist.
The OP in that thread did not post back to indicate if any of the suggestions helped but I thought that the OP here might benefit.
I wasn't suggesting anything specific as I personally have never had the problem but I thought those suggestions might help the OP.
Or am I misunderstanding what you are asking?

You will probably need to provide others with more information too.
Cloned backup? TimeMachine? using Disk Utilityh to repair Lion from the recovery partition (comnand r on startup) -
After osx 10.8.5 update the bluethooth is no longer available
After osx 10.8.5 update the bluethooth is no longer available. It is shown that no Bluetooth is installed it. In front of the update everything worked faultlessly on my iMac late 2009.
Try shutting down your Mac and then unplugging it (completely) for about 30 seconds. Then plug it in and power it back up.
This does what's called an "SMC reset" and will often resolve issues around AirPort and Bluetooth hardware of this nature. -

You cannot reactivate the device without knowing the previous owner's information. This is the new antitheft measure built into the iPhone.

Today I updated the OX Maverisk. It turns out that the three finger gesture in the finder( go back and forward) is disabled. How can I get this function back? I love it so much!

When is the newest, latest update coming out? I have a bug. I can't use my wifi. I can't even tap the wifi , it's all grayed out. I have an iPhone 3g.
There are no more future updates for iPhone 3G. There is probably a hardware issue with your phone that an update would not fix.

Just spent the last 60 minutes on the phone with Apple support in regards to my iPhone 4's WiFi button being grayed out and unable to turn on. Went through all the steps and suggtions I found on the forums and support. Nothing worked.
Called Apple Support and was walked through a total factory reset of the phone...still doesn't work!
I was told that they can not help me because the phone is out of warranty...THIS HAPPENED AFTER UPDATING TO YOUR CRAPPY iOS 7 update! It's your glitch...using the wording from the nice Apple Support gal...she admitted it's their "occasional glitch" in the software. iphone 4s(ios 7) hangs after i reject calls by pressing the on/off button while it is in the lock screen.I restart the phone every time when i reject calls..what can i do ?
I've same problem in iPhone 5c. I was using iPhone 4, problem appears after updating to ios7. I changed my phone to iPhone 5c, looks like it's a bug in ios7. But I think you might not turn on or off your internet connection frequently to reduce this problem. My friend has a same iPhone she never gets such problem like this cause she uses iPhone 5c with Tata Docomo (India) 2g with no internet connection. May be this would be the best solve that you should not turn on or of your internet connection so frequently...
